Normally, my wife and I get sat at the bar area each time we dine in at Texas Roadhouse. The service and atmosphere is always great. Tonight was definitely the exception. We were seated back in one of the corners. Our server (name redacted) started off bad by telling us that if we wanted anymore "bar drinks", they would have to go through her. Our son ordered cheese fries as an appetizer. Yet, they never came. We also didn't see our server until the food came so when we told her that the app never came, she seemed so surprised. Myself and my daughter both ordered steaks. She did not ask us to cut into our steaks to make sure they were cooked to order. This ended up being a mistake. By the time my daughter cut into her steak, it was raw. She asked for medium rare. It was still red. We would have to ask for several things at one time whenever she would eventually come to the table as it would take forever before she came back. My wife ran out of Diet Coke halfway through dinner. She never asked if she wanted more. I put her glass to the edge of the table in hopes that she would get the hint. Instead, she just took the empty glass and did not ask if she wanted more. Gave us three boxes and had to get my son his dessert to go due to how long everything was taken. She brought boxes and no bag. We finally got tired of waiting so we got up to leave. We love coming here and found mid afternoon to be able to get in and out reasonably fast. We went last Friday and walked in and seated immediately. Everything going good. Waitress came by and took our order and all good. Appetizer came and good. Few minutes later the appetizer appeared again, with original waitress realizing it was already delivered. Ok. She shrugged her shoulders. Came out our meals and needed steak sauce , a while goes by and she is seen walking out of the kitchen and sees me and remembers that we asked for the steak sauce and turns around to get it Steak now cold. Offers drink refills. Time goes by and then delivered as meal is over. Ask for box, sit and wait. Still waiting for boxes returns with check paper and drops it on the table and walks away. We wait again for pick up and realize the kiosk can take payment. Another server comes to help and initiates the payment and she comes by, appeared annoyed he's helping and walks off. I am still waiting for the take out boxes. Close to the bar I Ask the bartender and she goes to get them when server arrives back at the table. Stopped by today, overall my wife and I have a rather simple order, she with the 6oz Sirlion, me the 10 ounce ribeye. We add a salad and broccoli as the chosen sides. The streaks came out as ordered, actually cooked perfect medium and our broccoli was also perfectly prepared. The salad was ok, would suggest checking the lettuce a little better. Let me start off by acknowledging the fact that I am only giving 4 stars because of our server. Jayla W. She was great, welcoming, personable, knowledgeable, fulfilled every request we had (we had quite a few lol), and kept a smile on her face even after getting drinks spilled on her. If I could give her 5 stars alone I would. Now to the establishment as a whole. We are originally from VA so I'm not sure if every location operates on different standards but it's just a tad unorganized at times. I was asked how many was in my party and then nothing was said (only because we've been here before I assumed to just stand there). Maybe 2 min later we were then told to move to a number. Also, it's not really a good look to see a manager seem like they're giving exceptional customer service just for it to be followed by a sarcastic face once the customer walks away. I decided to give this location another chance about six months after having such terrible service a few times in a row. Maybe they read some of the reviews and hired new staff or tried new management...nope! I placed a mobile order and arrived at the time it would be ready. The employee came out to the car every 15 minutes to check in and complain about their coworkers. After waiting in my car for an hour, I asked to cancel my order so I could go find food elsewhere. They went inside to cancel my order, then came out a few minutes later with my bag. The food was cold and congealed, and obviously had been sitting around for a while. It wasn't until I got home that we found that not only were we missing a couple items, the rice was just left in the bags they were shipped in labeled "Wednesday." We tried it again as we like the food , at other locations. Wait listed on yelp. No wait when we arrived. No one waiting but parking is an issue. Same issues continue, dirty and in need of repair. Dust hanging on the ceiling vents caked dirt on the Floors and baseboards. Bathroom filthy fixtures falling off the stales walls. Grime on the walls and sink areas. Music so load you can't hear the soft spoken wait staff. Can't carry on a conversation with out shouting which makes it louder. Will not come again at this location. read more

Pro: The drinks, sides and bread were great! Cons: one of our party did not get his food until everyone else had eaten. While waiting we asked the waitress where his food was. The response? Oh, we gave it to someone else. No apology and it did not bother the waitress at all. I ordered the smallest ribeye. It wasn't a ribeye and it wasn't small. So I obviously got someone else's food. Waitress never came back to see how our food was and if we had everything. My husband's Pepsi was half water. Finally got the manager over and she went through what sounded like a memorized speech. No sincere apology. Our waitress was clueless when we questioned our bill. Just waved her hand and shrugged her shoulders and left. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. When we left one of the employees was seated in the middle of the sidewalk where everyone had to walk around them. Not sure what they were doing but had a small iPad type device. Been coming to this location for years with our big family. This last time we went, the filet seemed to be really low quality. I've always gotten the same thing and it's always been great. This time around, it came out and looked different, but i can get over how it looks. I thought it was a sirloin based off of the texture and sent it back. The replacement came back and was the same. My dilemma is this. I and my friends have patronized the Texas Roadhouse in Durham, right off Guess Rd, for years and never had a bad experience. I have not been to this particular one outside Wake Forest, but have been looking at the more recent reviews and they seem to be very unusual, especially the ones that are horribe. This makes me afraid to even try this place, although I am going to because I would hate to think that this company is allowing this particular restaurant to continue to tarnish its reputation in this neighborhood. What is the problem? I know there are staff problems nationwide, especially in the service industry, but what is baffling is why the ownership of this restaurant has not completely overhauled the management? This type of thing makes for a fun atmosphere to enjoy. 4) when text that they were ready for us to get in line, it was a line, not exaggerating, at least 10 GROUPS long. It went to the front door and around back in 2 groups. We had to wait at least 15 more minutes, closer to 20. As a disabled person standing that amount of time was painful.
