I ordered my steak smothered and they did not disappoint. Lots of grilled mushrooms and onions. Steak was perfectly cooked. Server had us check our steak to ensure we were happy with it. I had mashed potatoes/brown gravy and corn as my sides. Excellent proportions. Our server, Cherish went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our dinner and had everything we wanted or needed. She was very polite, attentive and friendly. Ask for Cherish, you'll be well taken care of. Restaurant was very clean, they offer veterans parking as well as handicap parking. My part and I had the worst experience at T road that we have ever experienced. There error in a payment and the manager lied about funds on a gift card. When trying to understand the situation the manager kept saying we did everything wrong, but we did exactly what our server had explained. She said we "broke" the machine used to pay and was very rude the whole time. She (The manager) said "you guys need to get your lives together". My party and I have never felt so disrespected while trying to enjoy our dinner. We usually love this place but I am so disappointed in the situation and how it was handled. Texas roadhouse has to be one of the best restaurants in the Wichita area. The food quality is most of the time very good for the value, the steaks are USDA choice. There are a few dogs on the menu, but it's a steakhouse order the steak good salads, baked potatoes, and sides. It's very noisy crowded. Some of the booze are small parking is sometimes hard to find stand in line waiting is a turn off. They need more locations in the area or start taking reservations. It's very noisy. read more

I visited this location on May 29, 2026. I ordered a house salad, and on my first bite, I found a piece of metal in it that cut my mouth pretty badly. I asked to speak with the manager, and when he came over, he was not kind or understanding. He was very rushed, spoke to me in a demanding tone, and did not handle the situation with care. He took my information and told me I would be fine, which I found inappropriate, as he is not a medical professional and cannot determine the potential effects of ingesting metal. While we stayed and waited for our food, I also found a bug on my plate that had come from the rolls. When the manager returned, he continued to be rude and even laughed about the situation. At that point, we decided to leave. I was told I would receive a follow-up regarding the incident, but I have not been contacted. Telling users to avoid Texas Roadhouse is a public service announcement. I'll have to be honest, I have never been to a Texas Roadhouse before and wanted to try one myself, however, a YouTube channel showed me all the things so wrong with this restaurant chain that it's not even funny, from Prime Rib having 8 oz of fat and 4 oz of meat to ribs that are brunt to a crisp and sometimes containing way too much sugar due to the sauce, there's no good reason for this restaurant chain to even be a chain to begin with. On top of all that, this place is way too noisy in every single restaurant it makes and the fact that this restaurant chain stores meat that's next to each other which the steaks can sometimes either touch each other as well as touch the wrong meats, steaks touching each other, steaks touching chicken, chicken touching pork, pork touching steaks, anything to make this restaurant chain a complete and utter fraud. Plus those appetizers, those are more like bar food rather than what a steakhouse offers, I like fried pickles and fired onions, but this was not the right appetizers to serve especially the cactus blossom that has way too much calories just like the blooming onion from Outback Steakhouse. On top of all that, Texas Roadhouse has the worst ambiance I've heard from in such a long time where it's more like a BBQ place then an actual steakhouse and definitely something the people don't want to take their date too. Full disclosure, I lost interest in Outback Steakhouse too (Also, because they got rid of their blooming petals which was my favorite part about going to Outback, but that's besides the point), both of them were actually neck and neck to get a negative review from me, however, I went with Texas Roadhouse because Outback at the very least isn't as lousy as Texas Roadhouse, Texas Roadhouse was supposed to be like Outback Steakhouse but with superior quality, not this insufferable nightmare. So, yeah, for a better steakhouse in Wichita, go to Scotch And Sirloin or go to Bella Luna, they serve much better food and much better ambiance then Texas Roadhouse ever hoped to do. When we travel and are unsure of a good place to eat, if there's a Texas Roadhouse we know we can get a good meal at a reasonable price. They're known for their hot rolls, which are to die for. But this is really just because we know that we can count on this staff to provide us with the best dining experience possible - so we visit - often. Food is always cooked perfectly. The ambiance of the restaurant when you first walk in is bustling and homey, with decorations filling every inch of the walls and the smell of sweet bread right next to the host desk. It was busy every single time we came in to eat but it was well worth to wait to eat the endless supply of delicious bread. The servers were always friendly and would accommodate any requests. Ordered a large prime rib dinner cooked medium well for takeout. Asked for creamy horseradish, sautéed mushrooms and a house salad with ranch. The salad was good. The prime rib was over cooked and parts of it were tough. No pink to be found anywhere. They forgot the creamy horseradish and gave me 2 small containers of brown sugar butter which I assume was meant for bread rolls they forgot to add to my takeout bag. If the prime rib had been cooked properly it would have been good because the flavor was ok but I won't be back to pay almost $30 for this meal again thru takeout. And had I known it was not right I would have said something before leaving but I had a 45 minute commute home and didn't look until I got settled and was ready to eat. The place was extremely packed when we arrived. It's a good call, our friend got to reserve us with a table 3-4 hrs prior. The servers were drudging but we're glad they were able to cater us right off the bat. The server (I did not get her name) was very pleasant. She served us their famous cinnamon rolls and drinks to start with. My wife and I had a full rack of baby back ribs with seasoned rice and steak fries as sides. We've dubbed the east side Texas Roadhouse the HIT & MISS. We frequent both the east & west restaurants & can easily spend $200 just for 3 of us on food & spirits. The service has always been great but every so often we'll receive a steak (well done) when we ordered it (med Rare) the last one was like leather or we'll receive raw salmon. My last order of salmon was cold to the touch & I just figure it was due to being a take out order but as I started eating it I realized it wasn't done. It was cold, shiny & squishy (RAW). Oddly the lettuce in our salads was brown & slimy too. That was a 1st for the (east side) restaurant as well. Since we frequent them a lot & order take out often a few mistakes are to be expected. I've called the manager about 3xs in the past year because there was more wrong than just a steak being over cooked. He offered to replace the meals (that is) if I wanted to drive all the way back & pick it up right then. I didn't want to make that trip as it was late or I had family here that I'd been taking care of after a bypass. Instead I offered to bring the meat back the following day as proof & he said no that won't be necessary, just check your email I'm going to send you something. He's sent me a survey every time. That's it, I fill it out & receive no follow up or comp, not even for the meats. I don't usually call for small mistakes. If it's a steak cooked wrong we'll usually just eat it that way because we don't want to waste it but after 3xs they've turned out raw or over cooked so badly that you can't chew it I'd think they could at least comp the price of the meats on our next order. 3xs in the past year I've filled out their survey & never heard a peep back from them. They're getting a HIT & MISS review because we've had several good meals & have always receive great service BUT their survey really isn't taking care of our loss. It's not like I'm trying to get free meals, only trying to get what we paid for & fairly. After the 3rd time of this I kind of figured the best way to get their attention regarding how they're NOT taking care of the customers would be a review. I dub thee the HIT & MISS.
