My pad Thai with tofu came with chicken instead, and came without any of the 3 sides that were supposed to be included (fried shrimp roll, egg noodle soup and wonton). We ordered via grub hub as we were wanting thai and saw some pretty good reviews. Not only did they get part of our order wrong (chicken pad thai instead of tofu pad thai), but they didnt include the rest of the combo either (egg noodle soup, wonton and shrimp egg roll were not included), but out of the 4 shrimp spring rolls we ordered, only ONE of the rolls had any shrimp in it (and that only had one), the peanut sauce for the spring rolls was... not right, and the gyoza sauce was mostly apple cider vinegar (really?!? Wth!). My wife DID enjoy her Laab though, but her fried wontons were bland at best. Do yourself a favor and just skip this place - especially if you are ordering via grub hub or some other delivery service, because they obviously do not care. read more

I should have just gone to the Thai Am on 4th Street. This Thai Am leaves a lot to be desired. They charged me $17 for shrimp pad Thai with a container smaller than my hand. It tasted bland and over cooked. I also ordered sushi that was also very poor. I've had better from Publix. I won't go back to this place. read more

We had a party of 6 for dinner. The menu had many food choices, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese (Pho), and Chinese food. Ordered a variety based on each person's preference: Thai nod, green curry, pad Thai, pho and none of it was good. All the food was very bland, no flavor, pho broth was so oily - couldn't even eat it. It seemed the restaurant tried to be good in everything Asian, that it was good in nothing. Everything was served in paper plates and even the pho was served in a plastic bucket, this must have been the remnant of COVID take out. Asian food isn't suppose to taste or look like this. I'm really surprised that Thai-Am 2 isn't higher rated. Just a few doors down from the famed Johns Pass Boardwalk, this is a gem. The menu offers something for everyone's desires. The sushi is fresh and tasty. The miso coconut milk soup is my absolute favorite. The staff and servers are friendly and helpful in answering any questions. Been going to Thai AM 2 for the past 15 years. My family and I loved this place. We decided to go again since it has been a while and the service and food was not the same. It took us 30 minutes to get our appetizers. We ordered a large sour and sweet soup, back in the day it used to feed 3-4 people, now it barely fed one person. An hour later we get our fried wings, still haven't gotten our main course yet, and the wings were so small, dry, and had no taste. Unfortunately the food was extremely underwhelming - Chicken Teriyaki had no flavor and neither did Pad Kee Mao. Went to lunch with bff before hitting the beach across the street, and it happened to be on their Wednesday Thursday $1 Nigiri sushi and $4 roll special. Nice decor inside and our server was very attentive. For our dollar sushi, we had a raw salmon, a smoked salmon, 2 shrimp, 2 egg, 2 baby octopus, JP roll, and a tuna asparagus roll. There was a lot to pick from, both raw and cooked. All were delicious, and we shared a salad too. We couldn't even finish all the sushi, and tab was only $22. EVERY YEAR we come to this same spot and I always look forward to eating here. Not only do they have great Sushi (Philly Roll Girl here) but I tried their Pad Thai this year and now I'm hooked. Me and a friend went here for lunch because we were looking for a sushi place, literally the BEST sushi I've had. I had the Rock and Roll and I can't recommend it enough. We also got another order of spring rolls because they were so good, they were the perfect size and super crunchy. The sushi was very professional and unbelievably yummy. There's only outdoor seating, but it's more on a porch. There's lot's of decorations and food options which is a bit overwhelming. We were the only ones to eat in, two others came in for pick up. This place definitely deserves more service. The wait was pretty long but it was worth it. We also had a wonderful talk with our waiter, it was the best service I had at Florida. Totally and completely awful. This was my go-to Thai place for 15 years but it has collapsed into a no star horror show. They actually serve you food on flimsy paper plates with plastic silverware. Try enjoying your Tom Yam Goong soup out of a styrofoam cup. The chicken wings tasted rancid, The rice was hard and undercooked, the vegetables overcooked and service indifferent. I don't give many one star reviews. In fact this my 3rd out of close to 200 reviews. If I could give a zero star review to this place, I would. This is a long review, so if you don't want to read my horror story, here's the short version - AVOID THIS PLACE. THE SERVICE IS THE WORSE YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE. We should have been tipped off by the way our waitress was acting from the moment she approached our table. She was nervous, and appeared flustered and confused. We wanted sushi, and it was on special that night. She told us that they were swamped with take out sushi orders, and that another sushi chef had been called in. We asked how long we might have to wait. She said we might have to wait 25 minutes for sushi. We were OK with that. We ordered appetizers, and others in our party ordered something besides sushi, and we who wanted sushi ordered soup or salad to tide us over. We waited and waited. When we asked the waitress, she said that it would be just a few more minutes. Then she stopped coming to our table entirely. My daughter had to go to the waitress station to get a pitcher of water to refill our glasses. We saw other tables who were seated after us get served platter of sushi. When the waitress finally came to our table we told her how long we had been waiting (by now we had been at our table for nearly and hour and a half). She said she'd talk to the manager. After a few more minutes, and now it's past an hour and a half, she returns to say they will take 20% off our bill. So where's our sushi? Another few minutes. We told her she had said it would be 25 minutes. No, she insisted. 45 minutes she said. Well it was well past 45 minutes since we ordered the sushi, and now you're also lying to us. We got up and walked out without paying a cent. Avoid this place. The service is the worse I have experienced that I can remember. The food isn't that great either, not any better than any other Asian restaurant. The only thing this place has going for it is the location at John's Pass. So Friday, before we realized it was cinco de mayo, my friend and I had agreed to meet for lunch, belated birthday celebration. We bypassed several establishments, obviously...and stopped here. OMGoodness, what a devine find. Wendy (Pho), was our server. She was so kind and so attentive, whenever we had a question about anything on the menu. A couple of others came in and ordered before us because we couldn't make up our minds . Everything looked delicious . We were never rushed, it was so relaxed. When we finally decided, I got the ginger chicken and shrimp, my friend got the tamarind tofu. Each dish was visually appetizing as well as delicious to eat . We heard a drum and some other instruments when we were done with our meal...Wendy had paid attention at the beginning. I went on an impulse to go to the beach on the weekday and stumbled upon Thai-Am 2. The name was interesting. The place is pretty decent size and the atmosphere is really casual. At a beach area you'll find some interesting characters that walk around. The food was pretty good. I ordered their Thai tea. Instead of Thai food, I tried their sushi and Japanese bento boxes. My Dragon roll was pretty good, but not exciting, and the Chicken Teriyaki was good too. As for the prices, it is a little more than I would pay in another Japanese restaurant in Tampa. But I guess anywhere near the beach the places are a little pricier than most. It's too bad we didn't have a beach view. Overall, it is a nice place, but I'd probably only go again if I am ever at the beach. Also, their parking lot is very small, so be wary in finding space. Happened to fall upon this place after watching the sunset on Friday after work. Ordered 2 sushi rolls - they were GREAT! When we ordered the sushi we were warned it would take a while... we didn't feel like it took long at all. Enjoyed a beer while we were waiting for it. Then we ordered Thai dishes for the entree. Hands down amazing! We chose vegetable fried rice as an upgrade and so glad we did. It too, was amazing! Moved on to dessert and again, not let down.
