If I were to rate this place on the food and decor, then I would give it 5 stars. However, the service was very poor. Service alone would be 1 star. It took 1 hour for us to get our meals and there were maybe only 4 other tables while we dined. No one gave us updates on the delay. We waited and waited. Finally the food came and they brought us the wrong dish. When the check finally came, the server told us the delay was due to Uber Eat orders and that they couldn't keep up with all the orders. It would've been nice to know while we were waiting wondering what happened to our food. Service is huge, so I am giving this place 2 stars. read more

I love Thai food, so when my son suggested we get takeout from Thai Bamboo for lunch today, I very eagerly agreed. I ordered the Thai Chinese Connection, and could not have been more disappointed. This meal came with spring rolls and cheese rangoon, both of which were mediocre, but edible. It also came with Mongolian beef, which had sounded very tempting in the menu description, but was very overcooked and dry, more reminiscent of jerky than steak, and barely edible. I ate three pieces of this and then gave the rest to my dog, as I honestly had difficulty chewing it. I didn't even bother trying the rest of the meal, and I obviously won't be going back. My son really disliked his red curry that came with his meal, saying that it seemed to taste more like it was made with yogurt than with coconut milk and that it was curdled. There was a dollop of a pasty substance (curry paste?) that wasn't stirred in, and once he'd stirred everything up, the dish had a vinegary, pickled flavor that he'd never experienced in a curry before. He did really like the Pad Thai noodles quite a bit, however. I did email the restaurant, hoping that this was just a fluke due to a harried and very busy kitchen staff or a new and under-trained employee and that they'd be willing to demonstrate that their food is normally better but I was told that they "...don't really care to work things out with you. There are any other restaurants down the road I hope you find one who's wares you like..." so this review will have to stay. read more

They were so cheap they didn't use coconut milk. All it had was the curry paste. And the fried rice tasted like it was sitting around all day under the heat lamp. I went to Thai Bamboo two weeks ago, and I'm still upset about how there was a 3% "kitchen fee" atop the menu price of my food. Why the hell would a restaurant charge you an additional tax to cook the food when the service they provide is that they cook food?! That was deceptive. Speaking of the food, it was just ok. It wasn't particularly flavorful, though it was cooked fresh. It also lacked vegetables, so it was just noodles in a slightly-sweet sauce. The decor at Thai Bamboo is also majorly tacky! It's a Thai restaurant-meets-tiki bar out of the 70s? Four stars for food, three stars for service. The waitress seemed shocked that we didn't want our preschool aged kids to have soda with dinner. She said they didn't have milk, offered orange or apple juice. She came back and said they were out of apple juice, only had orange. I get nervous when a server takes our order without writing it down. She didn't even finish taking the order before she was asking us to repeat it back to her. Food took about 25 minutes, decent but much slower than their average. I had ordered my Thai super bowl with 3 stars for spice, it came with no spice but still delicious. However I felt that the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the coconut prawns and pad Thai. First, the prawns were tough and the coconut breading on the soggier side with no crunch; I'm not sure if this was because the kitchen was rushing to close or not? Second, it was interesting to see that the pad Thai was "the best seller" on the menu, I definitely would not have guessed. Usually this dish isn't too complex but it should have depth of flavor and not be overly sweet. I'm afraid to say that this was very monotone, I could taste that they used a wok to cook it and they didn't drench it in overly sweet sauces like other places do, but this was definitely missing flavor and did not represent Thai cuisine well. This was my first visit at this location--since they moved a block N of their original location. I dropped 50 bucks here, got the sample appetizer plate. So -- this was marginal at best--everything on the sampler is deep fried and although this was the best part of the meal--that isn't saying much. And it's unfortunate that there isn't a sampler plate that includes selections that are healthier. We also ordered a lunch combo--swimming rama and pad thai and rice. Worst ever. The chicken was dried out and tasted like it came from left over satay, the peanut sauce seemed like it was reheated rather than served fresh and the pad thai had very little flavor until I reached the bottom of the dish. Terrible! Terrible Terrible! Usually I would not leave a bad comment, but this just crossed the line. Came here for dinner on a weekday, sat in the bar area, and waited over 20 min before the waiter even took our order. It wasn't even busy! What was to come was even worse! Our order took over 30 min to arrive. Also one of the dishes we ordered (papaya salad), they were not able to make due to "not fresh ingredients" but didn't bother to let us know until 25 min later, so that dish ended up coming out late! I ordered what was supposedly the favorite dish at the restaurant, Pad Thai. It was by far the worst dish I've ever eaten at any restaurant. The noodles were dry, it was super oily, and lacked flavoring. I'd say thai food from the mall food court would've tasted better! After forcing myself to eat about less than half of the dish I couldn't take it anymore and had to let the waiter know of my disgusting dish. They said they would remake it for me, but ended up throwing the thing away and still charged me for half of the price. So still paid $7 for half the dish which I didnt eat. Would not recommend this place. Please save your money and go somewhere else read more

Just finished some amazing red curry with tofu. The perfect amount of spicy! When I arrived the lobby was crowded with people waiting for tables, so I headed to the lounge. Glad I did! I relaxed at the bar while watching the servers hard at work mixing and pouring drinks. The lady who handled my order in-between drink orders was friendly and attentive, checking on me whenever she came by. I'll definitely be back to try another dish - maybe another curry? I HAVE NEVER ONCE COMPLAINED, but this has to be said! I had placed an order for pick up 2/8/2017 for my mom to pick. When she returned the food was cold, small kids sized portion, and tasted awful. I mean for $39 I expected dinner portions and properly seasoned and cooked food. I went by the store the next day to ask to talk with the manager Sean, and he said he would call me the next day after further investigation and that he had to contact his manager bob burgess about my situation? An investigation about lack of service and a refund? I didn't receive a call 2/10/2017 so around 12:30 I called and asked for Sean and he went on to tell me that the situation had to be investigated and he would get back to me. I received a voice mail from Bob burgess stating that they wouldn't help me in regards to giving my money back, because they are not that kind of restaurant and don't give money back for cold food even though that wasn't the only reason I was even complaining. Bob Burgess stated he would send a gift certificate for one entree to me. I called Thai bamboo back and asked for Sean where I went on to state I didn't just want a refund for the cold food, I wanted a refund because of the child portion size and horrible tasting food. He said he would call bob burgess back and I said great have him call me. Bob burgess then calls me back telling me if I call or stop by again that he would call the cops and have me arrested and to go to hell, so I said immaturely back fuck you go ahead I don't want to stop back by there I just want to be helped. He hung up on me and then called me back to tell me some other legal thing but I refused to listen to, and I then stated to him now this is the 3rd time your calling me and harassing me, and then he hung up on me??? So here I am making this complaint about not even the food anymore, but the lack of skill that management has. Not sure why they would think it's ok to talk to a customer like they have. I was apprehensive about going here, but I love Thai food and had to give it a try. Having been to Thailand and some other very authentic Thai restaurants on the East and West Coasts, I think I know a little bit about the food. We were seated quickly but then had trouble because there was no kids menu. Turns out there is, sort of, you can order off the bar menu and there were plenty of options to choose from, even for my picky eater. Fish and Chips and chicken strips, tacos, nachos, etc. As for the adults, we asked for a recommendation since the menu is so huge, almost too much to choose from. We were given two options. Really? Out of that whole menu the waitress only had two suggestions? We started with the fried tofu and it was not good. I know its Tofu, but it had zero flavor and the dipping sauce had even less. I have had fried tofu in other restaurants and it's been very good. I wouldn't order that again. For dinner I went with one of the two recommendations, the Phad Talay. It was ok, but not nearly enough seafood compared to the veggies. It definitely had the Thai flavors I love. My husband ordered the Korean village dinner and was happy with it. Service from our waitress was lacking. We were delivered our appetizers with no napkins, plates or silverware. We asked for them but they never came. We ended up having to hail someone else down to get them for us. The restaurant wasn't that packed so I'm not sure why she was having such difficulty attending to our table. (We're really not that high maintenance.) Would we go back? Yes. Although, I'll probably try a few other places. The one run by the one woman is next on my list. read more

Me and my wife went to Thai Bamboo today to try it out for the first time. We were greeted when we walked in and were seated in a timely manner. Our server came out quickly with water and asked if we wanted drinks or appetizers. Everything seamed to be goin ok besides our server taking a long time to bring out burnt pot stickers. Ok maybe they had a big order? (No the place was rather empty). Our food finally comes out a few day old rice over cooked Mongolian Beef sweet and sour tofu. We started eating our food but I forgot to ask for sweet and sour. So I patiently waited for my server to come by. My wife finished her lunch and I had still not seen my server. By then I had finished my wife's water and mine waiting. He finally walks by and I ask for the sweet and sour and more water. The water came quick but I was waiting for the sweet and sour. A few moments later he comes flying around d the corner and dumps the piping hot sweet and sour all over my foot and leg. I'm in shorts and sandals by the way. The guy rushes off to grab towels as my foot is burning I'm trying to get up. He starts cleaning the floor giving me no room to get out of the booth. My foot is burning still I finally get it all cleaned up and put ice on my foot. I ask for a box for my food. He comes back with the check and a box. Now I am no critic but piping hot coffee awarded people millions of dollars my foot is burnt you would think they would comp my food. Nope they charged me the whole thing. What a joke I asked for a manager the manager says ohh I'm sorry that happened ill comp your plate. Are you kidding me this is a joke. I will never return here and will never be referring to this business. This is sad you would thing businesses that are struggling would try their best to keep customers coming back. UPDATE 9.28.2014: Review is from 2.5 years ago. I have not been to the restaurant since the remodel. The order was also for take out, not dine in. I do however stand by my review of the food and have a strong recollection of my experience of the dishes I received. I haven't been here since the remodel, but the times I did order takeout I wasn't really impressed. The pad thai wasn't the greatest, the noodles were dry and the noodles were a little undercooked. The flavor was also off, it wasn't the typical sweet sour savory tamarind fish sauce flavor I am used to. Their stir fry dishes however are good. As far as thai food goes... it is average, you can do better and definitely do worse. I had the phad thai and panang curry at level 5. The taste would satisfy your basic craving for thai food. The spice level was not close to 5, more like maybe a 3. The atmosphere is nice. The menu does have a vast array of different types of asian cusine from Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Filipino dishes which is good and bad and probably lends to the average nature of the food. You can probably find something that everyone might like but not that they love. Prices seem a bit on the high side but that is more for the atmosphere than the food. read more

My husband and I have frequented several of your locations over the years. Unfortunately we will never be returning after tonight's experience. Being that it is Valentine's Day I thought it would be best if we took a to go order and I placed it quite awhile before we planned on eating. I was told it would be ready in 40 minutes, which would be nice timing as my husband could grab it on his way home from work. My husband waited for a hour and 20 minutes to receive our food from the waitstaff that never bothered to tell us when it would be ready or how much longer he would be standing in the lobby. Yes, that means it took us 2 HOURS to get our order. Had we known it would be taking hours to get our food we would have waited at home until that time or chosen another a restaurant that was better equipped for many customers. While waiting my husband witnessed many take out customers experience ridiculous delay as well in receiving their food. Even seated dining patrons were loudly complaining of not having had their order taken after 40 minutes of waiting or those who were lucky enough to have placed an order were still waiting for food a hour and a half later. Yes. I know today is a holiday. But could you at least try to empathize with your customer?Not a single staff member explained to my husband when our food would be ready. If you asked them to check they would walk into the kitchen and then come back, IGNORE YOU and then speak to each other or patrons who were arriving. Horrible customer service. No thank you. There is other Thai food in town and we won't mind switching. I can forgive a business for being busy but I can't forgive them not caring. read more

i'm only giving this place a 2 out of 10 because of our past experiences being excellent but not this time. we ordered at 6pm and online said we needed to be there at 7:15pm BUT when we got there she said to wait 15min which was fine because it's not that long then 15 minutes go, by 30 minutes go by, 45 minutes go by then 1 hour goes by. We decided go up and ask if our food was ready which we waited for 3 minutes to get an answer. It was but we asked if we could get a discount for it because of the long wait she agreed to take off our appetizer. we headed home which was 30 minutes away but when we got home they didn't give us any sauce or a side of rice like we ordered. we called again expecting to get a bigger discount and they said no but they would give 8oz of peanut sauce for which we declined and hung up. I didn't have super high hopes for Thai food in Spokane, as I've got a large selection of places that are pretty darn fantastic in Seattle. My sister and I were in the mood for Thai, and the only place in Deer Park was closed. I Yelped for Thai and decided on this place... In addition to having an Asian buffet, there was fund-raising going on, so it was pretty busy. No problem, though, since I had called the order in ahead of time. I couldn't stop looking at the ceiling. And noticing the reggae blasting from the speakers. The Phad Thai was pretty good. A bit tomato-saucy, but good. Noodles were a bit firm, too, but not uneatable or anything. Crab Rangoons were good. Mmmmm, I love cream cheese. I am not too familiar with a lot of Thai food but I have eaten a lot of Pad Thai all over the US at various heat levels. This ranked in the bottom two, especially for the $17 price. I ordered 2 star heat level and it came more like no stars. The only veggies on it were shredded carrots and shredded cabbage. It was topped with peanuts, which is good but no lime, bean sprouts, peppers, cilantro or green onion. I know some of these are not required in some recipes but for the price I would expect more not less. The chicken was tender and flavorful if not a bit on the sweet side. Granted it was a busy night so maybe the kitchen was rushed and I am always willing to give a place a second chance but I will visit a few other Thai places in town first. read more

There are plenty of good reviews of this place and I'll doubt I'll add much new, but here goes... I actually really like the decor. The changing lighting on the ceiling may make you think you're having a stroke at certain points of your meal, but when you actually look up, it's kinda cool. The food is pretty good. Certainly not the best Thai food in the world, but will definitely satisfy a Thai craving, should you have one. The beer selection is horrible, having only three Asian selections (and two of those are the same brand - San Miguel Light/Dark, with Singha being the only other). The service is quite slow. And the parking. Dear god, the parking. The lot is tiny and laid out extremely poorly, and trying to pull out onto division is taking your life into your own hands. read more
