I love this place for a quick lunch break. The staff is so friendly, and helpful. I love Thai food and this is the best in town that I have had. They have a good lunch special, which includes an entree, a side salad, white rice, and a pile of fried wontons. The portions are always generous, lots of protein and vegetables in the entree. If your not sure what to get, the staff will be more then happy to help walk you through the menu. What protein is good with which dish, what spiciness level will be good. read more

Any time I want Thai food this is where I go. their panang curry is the best curry I've ever had. I usually like to get the drunken noodles but they leave the peppers too big for my taste and there's not enough variety of vegetables in my opinion. But the panange curry is 10/10 read more

I absolutely LOVE Thai Bbq & Combo! I have never been a regular at a restaurant until I started eating here. The ladies that work here are so sweet and always remember my husband, daughter and I as soon as we walk in. My husband told me that they will even ask about me and our baby if he picks up food and I'm not there. The service is great! Anyways, on to the more important stuff... food! This place has a very large menu that includes both Thai & other asian foods. I love the chicken pho, pad thai, drunken noodles, yellow curry, and pad see ew. If you are picky and don't know what you'd like, I suggest ordering a Mr. Mix or Paso Mix combo first so you can try a little bit of everything. I grew up in San Diego, so moving to Paso Robles (a place where people consider Panda Express actual asian food) really sucked. The pho here is the best pho I've had! The broth is fantastic and flavorful, you can tell it took them a long time to make it that way! I normally get the beef which is cut thin and is perfect! The onions and jalapeños are fresh and are a perfect compliment! This was the worst Thai food I've ever had, if you could call it that. I wasn't expecting the best Thai food ever or even the best Thai food in Paso, but I was hoping for a decent take out meal for home that would be at least as good as Panda Express is to Chinese food. It wasn't. Imagine a mediocre mall food court Asian restaurant that's worse than most mall food court Asian restaurants and makes Panda Express look very good, that's what this was. I ordered the Beef Short Rib combo which came with a scoop of rice, three wontons, and a side salad. This was more Korean sounding than Thai, but since the place is called Thai BBQ & Combo, I figured this would be their specialty. This was not my first restaurant choice, but since Jackee's Korean Fusion in downtown closed down and I just wanted a quick take out Asian meal for home I decided to give this place a chance (I should have gone to Hana Teriyaki instead which is decent). Anyways, the Beef Short Rib was a really cheap cut of meat that was really fatty and rough with a lot of gristle served in a soup of its own BBQ sauce. The wontons were soggy with stale edges and came with a horribly sweet teriyaki dipping sauce which was one of the worst dipping sauces I've ever tried. The salad was mostly shreds of iceberg lettuce that was soggy from the uninspired house dressing that lacked flavor. The rice was standard - just plain white rice - which ended up being the best part of the meal. The meal was just under $12 with tax, which would have been very reasonably priced had it been good. But it wasn't good at all, so it wasn't a good value. I can get decent fulfilling meals at Chipotle and Panda Express for under $10. I had no complaints about the service, as I just ordered at the counter, and the staff seemed friendly enough. The food came out really quickly, that should have been the first red flag. I could tell this place buys really cheap ingredients that are cheaper than most fast food places like Panda Express, and they use store bought sauces (probably the cheapest Smart & Final brands) rather than making their own. Do not go to this place. If you want Thai food go to Thai Classic or Basil, and if you want Asian fast food your better off going to Panda Express or Hana Teriyaki. read more

First of all, this place is in Paso Robles not Grover. It is in the strip mall / office complex on First and Spring. Really good Thai food. Counter service, but they bring your food out to you on real plates. No styrofoam and such. Most everything is served with rice, side salad with peanut or lime dressing and 2 fried springrolls. Prices are cheap about $8-12 bucks. They don't do Panang curry, but the yellow curry looked yummy. A lot of people were ordering noodle soups. They just opened a week ago with a blessing from the buddhist monks. I think it worked, because the place was hopping today at lunch, about 7 parties just while I was there. Our office was really looking forward to having something different than bagels or sushi in the area, but we have been disappointed over and over again. First of all, their steamed rice was very dry the three times that I had it (they don't even use the proper rice for steamed rice). Some of the food is sometimes over salted. They do not consider accommodating their customers. I tried to get the very disappointing steamed rice replaced with chow mein or fried rice and I was willing to pay extra and I was told they could not do any replacements. I understand that possibly, their register doesn't have the proper code to sell extra items, but they could have at least tried to satisfy their customer in some way. I don't need free items, I am more than happy to pay double, but to be told no even when I offered to pay extra, that is unacceptable (how do you say no to money?). I hope the "chef" realizes that customers come first, especially in the food industry. I have never experienced this before. I just wanted a satisfying meal. I will not be going there again, and will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I am visiting my family on Paso and I drove by this place on my way to run an errand. Thai BBQ sounded yummy to me. I looked on Yelp to see the positive reviews so I went inside and hey greeted me right away and handed me a menu. They have a ton of different selections. I ordered the chicken and shrimp pineapple rice to go with a side of spring rolls. She asked me if I wanted the dish spicy and, I said "yes". She was very nice and professional. She then asked me if I what level of spicy I wanted the dish. I love extra spicy. My order was ready in 10 mins. When I got home and opened the container, I couldn't believe how amazing the food looked and tasted! It rice was nice and spicy, he food was still hot and very fresh. The meat tasted amazing and there were tons of veggies and some cashews, pineapples.... My mom had already had dinner but, when she say my food, she had to have some bites. She loves the food too. I like this place. It's probably better for take out than dine in because of the small space that lacks ambiance a bit, but I thought the food was very good. I'm confused about the review stating that they don't care about accommodating their customers. Although they don't have gluten free items specifically marked on their menu (however they do label vegetarian items), they were happy to let me know what was gluten free and what options they could prepare gluten free or what I could substitute for a small extra charge.
