I assumed that this was part of the Original Thai BBQ, but it's not, at least the food didn't taste the same. We ordered fried wontons and I've never been so disappointed. The wrapper kept breaking and the wontons were super oily. The Pad See Ew was pretty bland, the bbq chicken was too soft that it was melt in your mouth, but not in a good way, and the beef satay was pretty charred. The only thing I enjoyed from our order was the Tom kha. It was flavorful, had great portion of chicken and mushrooms and it was perfect for the weather. The service was not the best and the server kept giving us a face whenever we asked for something. I couldn't tell if he had a question or was just annoyed. The lady was friendlier and nicer, but overall service could use a haul. read more

My husband and I were looking for a Thai restaurant to eat at so we went here since we had seen it before but never tried it ...so we go in they sit us down ..place was empty BTW just one person and us. So i go to the restroom and they got mad cause I didn't ask to use it I come back and we order and omg worst food ever my husbands chicken was literally raw he tells them they take it back bring it back in 5 minutes and the damn chicken was still raw and my food was burnt and dry so no I don't recommend this place to nobody ..horrible food!!! read more

Been coming to this location over the last 20 years, noticed the food portions and flavor was steadily declining. Today was my final attempt to take food out in the hopes the current Chef at Thai BBQ stepped up to the plate. I was not disappointed! Ordered the S1 (Chicken bbq) and the S8 (Thai beef skewers.) Happy to post that the improvement undertaken has been noticeable. The chicken, beef, and rice were full flavored and indeed delicious. It appears they had a change of floor staff and servers who displayed an excellent and welcoming demeanor upon entry. Although parking may be a bit of a challenge within this strip mall, the food is definitely worth it. Thank you guys, keep up the good work! Been coming here since they first opened and we were still kids! One of the first places I tried Thai iced tea for the first time and I love it. It's one of my go to drinks when I get boba. Their Thai Tea is authentic and the perfect sweetness/strongness. Their Thai bbq chicken is the only item on the menu that I ever get, with extra sauce. Food is great! Establishment is old and dirty. Service is pretty meh. I'll probably stick to takeout in the future. S-1 BBQ chicken special (4): all the dark meat is awesome! Charred nicely,moist and juicy. The white meat is always dry. You need to drench it in their sauce. Their sauce is amazing though. Pour it on everything and ask for more. After 20 years going to Glendale location, thought I would try Panorama City. Prices lower, portions bigger, and staff seemed quite happy to serve us. Glendale location cut the hours and split the shifts of their staff a few years ago now. Ultimately, hard to deny Glendale is profit motivated whereas Panorama City takes care of their employees, food tastes better, and more of it for lower price. How can that NOT be 5 stars. Went yesterday, for late lunch. First time here and never coming back. My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers, chicken satay and spring rolls. The waiter seamed upset and responded "what no rice, that's all" the food took extremely long. The food was okay the peanut sauce was watered down. When we asked for boxes he also brought the bill. My husband put the cash in the money tray and before we could get up the waiter snatched the tray and counted the money in front of us blocking us from getting up. I guess he was making sure we paid in full. Once he counted he stepped away. At that point I really wanted my change back but we just left. Horrible service. I have not eaten here in 8 years since I moved out of town. My last review 8 years ago was 5 stars. This time I am giving an honest 4 star review. The service is still great, but the calamari rings are a lot skinnier than they used to be (see my photos in my old review and in thus new review). The calamari is more oily than I remember how it used to be. I got the spicy eggplant dish with tofu and it was too oily/greasy for me. The steamed jasmine white rice was cooked perfectly and helped me finish most of my eggplant dish. Overall the service is fast and friendly. Honestly, I really love Thai BBQ! It always hits whenever we're craving. Is it the most authentic? Probably not but it sure is tasty! I love their combo plates, especially the S1 BBQ Chicken and the S2 Pork BBQ Plate! Both of these plates come with the meat and some shrimp fried rice as well as some sweet and sour sauce. The chicken is seasoned and grilled so well, then paired with the sauce and rice, I love it. The pork BBQ ribs are super duper tender. I got a couple pieces that were fall off the bone. I've also had their pad Thai and it's pretty good but more on the sweet side. It's not the best I've had but really delicious. Service is usually super quick once you order. They cook quickly and it's not a long wait. Parking can be tight in this plaza since it's shared with so many other businesses! read more

One of the waiters here , i dont know the name for they dont have namepaltes here, is one of the most rude person ive encountered. He doesnt treat customers like people, like a person. We are a 3rd generation here and out family has been dining here eversince but this waiter is unbelievably rude. He walks away as you order with really big attitude. The food is always good here, but the service can be offensive. The server was rude from the moment I walked in. I said we were a party of 3 but that I'll order my drink and appetizer while I wait. He rolled his eyes and threw his hands up. I hadn't even looked at the menu. I quickly glanced through and proceeded to order... when I asked him if the combination fried rice included pork he rolled his eyes again and said 'it has everything.' at this point I just figured this guy is having a bad day. But then he scurried back to the kitchen to tell the cook and the other waitress about how "stupid and foolish" my order was. ( grateful for my Thai friends who taught me the terms to look out for.) Man when I tell you I expected something amazing...I ended up being sad in the end. I didn't like anything but the beer. It seemed like people really like this restaurant seeing that it was a full house but I wasn't a fan. I didn't like the presentation the, the flavor, or the food in general. The price is very reasonable. Only reason we gave this a try is because my wife loved this place as a kid. I guess the cooks aren't the same. I did love the clown fish at the entrance. I'll give it two stars because of the nostalgia and history that my wife has. But I would pass on this place if your looking for great authentic Thai food with good flavor and presentation. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Maybe don't advertise you're open til 8 if you're not. We walked in at 7:30 to order something to go and they said "sorry we close at 8" and refused to serve us. Extremely poor customer service and we won't be coming back. We've been coming here for years and were treated poorly. Maybe go to school to learn about customer service cuz this wasn't it. This is one of our favorite thai restaurants in the San Fernando Valley. Although this is a big chain the food consistency in taste is awesome. I have brought a lot of friends here to introduce them to thai cuisine. Our favorites includes the beef satay, papaya salad, durnken noodles, phad thai noodles, tom kat kai soup (although all the soups are good), angel wings, all the curry dishes are to die for. COVID setup is safe. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and they replaced the chicken with tofu instead. Yes there was some chicken but more tofu and also wasn't a lot of meat either. They cut the chicken in bits to make the tofu fit in well. I wonder what they would have replaced the shrimp with. Other than that it was an Okay meal, I just don't like tofu. read more

I was expecting so much more from this place. The bbq chicken plate with rice looked great, but the chicken was seriously bland and the rice was the same way too. The sauce for the chicken was syrupy sweet. I also ordered the pla goong (raw shrimp with lemon and fish sauce). This was actually good (check out the photos). It was slightly overcooked (it should be raw or more raw than cooked), but at least it had a great sour, spicy, and salty taste too it. Another SoCal Fave of mine when visiting from Reno . This place is usually a 5 star for me but for some reason my satay order (combo) was a bit undercooked and made my stomach hurt the next day.
