Thai by Day is the friggen best!!!! I live pretty far away from edmonds but the food is so good my friends and I all think it's worth to make the trek over. They use the freshest ingredients and genuinely care about the quality of the food they serve. Also they have really nice customer service and are always happy to accommodate to anyone's needs. Some of my favorite days of the summer included stopping here for some premium Thai food then lounging on the beach with my friends to enjoy our delish food. When you come in here you gotta try their sea salt Thai tea... it is on another level. Unlike any other Thai tea I've ever had, tasted almost like egg nog but not as sweet? Sooo good. I wanted to add this in: I was talking to the waiter and asking him why the pad Thai here is so much better than most places that I go to. He explained here they use real tamarind instead of tomato flavoring (which is what most Thai places use). The real tamarind flavor makes such a difference. I have been here now a total of 5 times. I can safely say that this is my favorite Thai restaurant. Not just because of the food, but because of the excellent customer service! The Tom Kha is fantastic. Today we were in there as a family and we felt we were treated so special. We ordered drinks and we were brought vodka gummy bears to try (so good). Before that, it was noticed we loved their shrimp chips. So we were brought two more plates, then after we finished our meal another plate of them so we could finish our drinks. My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was not too crowded and the waitress was very helpful. We had the Tom Yum soup which was delicious and an order of the chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai was a bit sweeter but had amazing flavor. This is the best Thai restaurant in downtown Edmonds, hands down, no question. We've been several times, both dine in and take out. Service is excellent. They will readily adapt to any food allergies/desires. For example, I have a terrible time digesting bean sprouts and they will eliminate this ingredient without a problem. This would be a 5 star review all the way if not for some (admittedly) nit-picky complaints . . . their Pad Thai is advertised as having egg but every time I've had it, it doesn't seem to include any egg. The ambience could use some refinement. Turn the lights down a bit at night and get rid of the unsightly Crate & Barrel boxes. Turn down the AC. We would hang out longer (and partake in more beverages!!$$) if it were a more warm and inviting place to linger. But . . . this is our go-to Thai in Edmonds. read more

Was in Edmonds without a car for an appointment and looking for a good place to eat before jumping on the ferry. I was having a rough time finding something that appealed and remembered seeing this mentioned as close to the ferry, so I tried it. I'm REALLY glad I did! It was the best thing about that trip to Edmonds. Had their mussaman neau with roti (NY steak in mussaman sauce). I usually like steak rare, and this was well done but incredibly flavorful and tender. To drink I had their coconut margaritatail. Everything was delicious and service was great! Ferry terminal is close by. I'd gladly eat here again and recommend it to anyone on either side of the sound. read more

1. They took forever to seat us. 2. They messed up the waters. 3. The lemongrass tea was bad. It wasn't tea. It was sugared water. 4. Our entrees took about 50 minutes to arrive. Overall we were there for more than 2 hours for a quick 2 person meal. 5. Both entrees were supposed to be medium-spicy. But one turned out overly spicy and the other bland. Both were sugary. We know of two other tables that were unhappy. Maybe the restaurant being new doesn't have it planned and sorted out yet. Maybe we will give it one more chance after six months but otherwise will never return. read more

The food was disgusting. The wait staff was lovely. We ordered two so-called fusion dishes, both with brown rice. The tempura shrimp in red curry was doughy. The shrimp inside was flavorless, most likely frozen. The red curry sauce was spicy, but otherwise flavorless. The chicken, if that's what it was, was dry. We sent the food back to the kitchen. Anything you order off the menu at Thai By Day is truly a joy to eat. There's tons of Thai restaurants, a dime a dozen almost. But this place is a gem! We visited about 4x prior to quarantine & have been ordering takeout fairly often since. What sets this restaurant apart is their consistency. Every single time i order i know the quality will be excellent--fresh, crispy veggies, noodles & rice cooked perfectly, delicious sauces and big portions. We have ordered a decent sampling of their menu and each time feels like it's always the best dish so far. seasoned perfectly, never excessively oily or overcooked. Not mention their food is actually spicy!!! No weak 4 and 5 stars here, be prepared to feel the spicy rush to your face! Enjoy the Pla Meuk Karaage (fried squid legs), young coconut and corn salad, Tom Kha soup, and their visually stunning pink vermicelli noodles Phad Mee Gati. Literally can't go wrong with anything On the menu. Partner and i always have an amazing meal no matter what we choose. Plus the customer service and attention is top notch! Unsure what all of the 5 start reviews are about. The shrimp chips were very good and different. I ordered red chicken curry and was told spice level only available medium and high. Not 1 through 5 like most thai restaurants. I ordered medium and it was flaming hot -- did not enjoy. This restaurant needs to get control of the amount of spice used. I like spice, but it was uncomfortably hot and could not taste entrée due to being overly spiced. Not sure we would return. read more
