THE PLACE in San Antonio for AUTHENTIC Thai food. In a comfortable, extremely clean, and relaxing environment my wife and I were treated like royalty by the owner's daughter. Her family is Thai and she grew up with the language, the culture, and this amazing food. My wife ordered the Pad Thai and I chose the Beef Salad, but the menu was so diverse I suffered from option paralysis my first time through. The Beef Salad was so much more than its name. It was served with cilantro, red onions, and greens. My wife's Pad Thai was an incredible balance of beef, tofu, sprouts and fantastic noodles. The portions were HUGE! I'll be having the same meal for lunch today. The flavor was EXTRAORDINARY. The beef was tender, soft, extremely juicy, and full of that special Thai kick. For our money the value was way more than we expected. We will be back...and you should go. read more

Thai Cafe is one of the best hidden treasures in San Antonio! Their buffet is excellent and can teach people about Thai food. Restaurant is clean. Family owned. They make a hot sauce that is black with red dried peppers that nobody makes and is so delicious! Me and my two boys have been going here for years. Pho is delicious! Everything is just the best! Came here for lunch. The lunch special on weekdays is $8:50. The Vegetable Green Curry. Is GREAT. The sauce is not watery and the veggies are beautiful. Purple eggplant, red and green bell peppers, basil. Just beautiful and the taste is soooo good. read more

Excellent food and friendly service. Went with two other people and between us we ordered the glass noodle salad, Thai ice tea, the Panang curry with rice, and the beef noodle soup. I tried a bit of each dish and they were all delicious. The portions are on the large side - you could definitely feed two people with one dish. I am giving it three stars because to me it is overpriced considering for the same amount of money one could eat at a nicer Thai Resturant with better Decor. The menu items are about four dollars overpriced to me considering the overall experience. With that said, don't take my word for it give it a try for yourself. read more

We had been gong to the old Thai Cafe for years and were sad when it closed. So today we stopped to try out the newly opened Thai Cafe in the same spot. Everything seemed just the same, same food but a new paint job and spruced up. Food that was left on the buffet at 12;45 when we arrived was sparse and not hot, sadly. I know they are pretty busy up until this time, but they had not kept up replenishing the food with fresh HOT food. About 1:15, as we were finishing, They were filling the steam table with fresh hot food....but the place was pretty much empty, only 3 table of customers...all of us finishing up. Not sure who they had been saving the hot food for, not the customers who came when we did. I noticed as we were leaving, their health score was 98 which is excellent. But as an ex-county health office from a different state, I would have had problems scoring them today with cold food in their steam table. They need to either change out the pans of food sooner with HOT food or turn up their steam table to keep the food at a safer temperature. If we go back , we'll wait til 1;15 the next time for lunch read more
