Was in the area and wanted some Thai food. I came across Thai House 2 on Yelp and they had a 4+ rating. So I stopped in. Yes the food came out quickly. Yes the service was great. And YES the food was DELICIOUS!!! OMG!!! Come here to eat!! It was a later lunch so it wasn't packed but there were people eating in and picking up take out. Thai House 2 definitely deserves its Yelp rating. I ordered the pad see ew and they put it in without spice but brought me a spice tray and it was perfect. The soup I got when I sat down was delicious! I will definitely be back!

Located near the medical center, I was looking for a quick but satisfying lunch option. I was immediately greeted when I came in and had a complimentary bowl of soup as soon as I placed my drink order. The soup was chicken and cucumber. I was skeptical of the combination but it was delicious. The menu has a large variety so there is something for everyone. The lunch specials are reasonably priced. I opted for the Thai pork rolls and lunch special Pad Thai with chicken and tofu. The restaurant has a festive decor and there is plenty of dining room space. My appetizer arrived quickly and was so hot and fresh, I had to wait for it too cool down. The pork rolls have a lot of flavor and the portion is big enough for two. Then arrived the Pad Thai (it also comes with an egg roll). They do not skimp on the portions here. The noodles had a wonderful smoky flavor and had a tame level of sweetness. Most restaurant Pad Thai is way too sweet but this had a balanced flavor. Their spice level starts at medium so be aware when ordering. I was so stuffed by the end of my meal I couldn't finish my pork rolls appetizer. This was a very solid lunch and I was really pleased with the outcome.

It's not a bad spot at all. I'd definitely revisit if I happened to be in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. The Pad Thai Tofu is alright, but I've had tastier versions elsewhere. The Drunken Noodles in red curry sauce were pretty good, though they leaned slightly sweeter than I'd prefer for a red curry. The service is a real plus - the staff is genuinely friendly and quick, and the portion sizes are quite satisfying.

Stopped by for a late lunch the other day. Thankfully it wasn't too busy. I have to say I prefer this one to the other one near Austin Hwy but that's just me. They have a decent lunch menu with reasonable lunch prices! They come with soup, an egg roll, rice, and a decent sized entree. I even took home leftovers. The food came out quickly but my egg roll was lukewarm which indicated it had not been freshly fried. I did not address it with the waitress. My food was good but it did need some spice. The decor is cute but a bit dated. It was clean and pleasant but could use some updating. Overall a decent spot to stop by if you're in the area!

10/10 Thai food and service! Enjoyed an evening meal with papaya salad and pahd woonsen with chicken. Enjoyed the appetizer-the salad, pickled papaya shavings, tomato, carrots and dressing were fresh and delicious! Can't forget about the peanuts, they add the crunch to every bite. We love to see pad woonsen on Thai menus! We got ours with chicken-delicious! Very generous with their protein! Could've used a bit more glass noodles but I'm not complaining. Everything was great! Our server was very attentive and provided great customer service. If we're ever in TX again, we'll stop by again! Plenty of seating inside! Our food came out quick! Clean tables. Easy parking.

I ordered the pad see ew with pork. The noodles had a nice texture. I wish there was more pork! I like the Chile sauce! The inside of the restaurant has a nice atmosphere! Very home-y. I like the lanterns on the ceiling. It reminds me of New York Chinatown or night markets in Asia. We called ahead to place our order and it was ready when we arrived 15 minutes later.

I love Thai and like finding new places to get it at. This place is close to my work, so I stopped one day after work. They have the usual Thai food and then some. I ordered the panang. I especially liked that they were able to make it mild. Some places the mild is still too spicy. This panang was great. The waitress was nice and efficient. Parking is on site and shared with the other businesses. They only have inside seating.

10/10 food has never been disappointing. Always delicious and friendly atmosphere. I always do take out. Pad Thai and pad broccoli very good.

My wife and I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Thursday in mid-September. This was our 4th or 5th time and Thai House has become one of our go-to Thai restaurants. We were greeted as we entered and kindly told we could sit where we like and was then provided menus. Shortly after they brought us waters and some soup I'd never had before. It was a light broth with a bunch of cucumber in it (which actually sounds not very good, but it was actually very good). My wife ordered the pad see ew with chicken (medium). The dish was well flavored and very saucy (good) but needed a bit more spice. I ordered the pad kaprow (medium) with fried rice. I enjoyed it just fine. Both lunch specials came with a spring roll which tasted great but had a soft texture in the middle that neither of us was a fan of. The restaurant is dated but clean and quiet. All the staff was very kind and attentive. Total for two lunch specials (we both drank water) with a generous tip was $25.63.

Food was tasty, and the ambiance was very warm and relaxing. It's definitely a good place for date night and conversation. The spring rolls were quite small, but the sauce was very tasty. I had ramen, which was perfectly cooked and had a nice amount of veggies with meat. My sister had the Panang Chicken, which she said was rich and just the right amount of heat. Other sister had Pad Woonsen, but it was extremely salty, so she had to send it back. Other sister got chicken with mixed vegetables and said it was very tasty.

Banging eggplant dish. Also loved the grilled pork, moo ping. Thai tea was a little in the sweet side, but generous portions.

Ask the Community - Thai House2 Restaurant

Is this a second location to the Thai House on Rittiman?

    Yes!

Is this the 2nd location of Thai House on Rittamen Rd or is this a completely different restaurant?

Is it really $13 for a small bowl of curry?

I agree. The picture is misleading. The serving is generous and equal to most other Thai restaurants in the area. The difference is that this curry is some of the better curry in town. It may cost a little more, but a few spoonfuls in and you'll…

It was a jungle style curry (no coconut milk) and was definitely one of the best jungle style curries I have had. It had a very interesting and complex flavor. It was a bit pricey and the waitresses forgot we asked for vegetables and not just tofu but it was really delicious. We also got the sticky rice with taro wrapped in banana leaf dessert: Sticky rice soaked in coconut milk and sugar with taro wrapped in banana leaves, then steamed. It was so really delicious. The restaurant is located right near the excellent McNay Art Museum- fun outing together.
