Stopped in for lunch with a client. The setting was ok, clean but nothing exciting. We were served fairly fast but they didn't have hot tea or soup like most Thai places do. We ordered the spring rolls and pad Thai. The spring rolls were probably made way earlier in the day or the day before, the roll itself had started to get chewy and it lacked enough veggies. It was ok but again nothing special. Their peanut sauce was oily but alright. The pad Thai was served with odd noodles, a little thinner than most Thai noodles in my experience and the spice was a little off as well. Not bad but not quite legit. This place has literally won the "Breezy Award" for worst Pad Thai ever. I've never had a pad thai with thin noodles. If they were out of pad thai noodles it would have been nice to let me know, but I doubt that would have helped the utter lack of ANY flavor or salt. I got my order to-go on a road trip, and had to go back inside to ask for some more sauce for my noodles, they were dry and flavorless. The server was very nice, but said they make the sauce as they cook it so they didn't have any extra sauce to fix the travesty that was my meal. She offered soy and hoisin, and I put some salt but then it was just some weird concoction with thin noodles I didn't order. I should have just said I didn't want it, but I tried. I just went to eat my leftovers and I tossed them, and I never waste pad thai, but again, this wasn't really Pad Thai from the start with thin, dry, flavorless noodles. I'm a big fan of trying Thai restaurants, no matter how they might look from the outside. Thai Carrot caught my eye as I was driving through Aberdeen, and a quick search of yelp revealed that no one had reviewed it. No one? Ok, I knew I had to check it out so I could write about it. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed Thai Carrot. First of all, the menu came with a picture viewing book, so I picked my meal on what image I thought looked best. This happened to be a type of spicy pad see ew with beef, because the waitress told me "today's a beef type of day". I was super impressed with how flavorful and tasty the dish was, and the perfect level of spice. Although I didn't order one, I should also mention that they have $2 thai iced teas, with free refills. I'll definitely be getting one next time. Although Thai Carrot isn't the *best* Thai food I've ever had, I'm giving it 4 stars because of how much it impressed me. Certainly a solid, warm, choice in Aberdeen that I would surely recommend you try out. read more

Despite the fact that this is the only Thai restaurant in the area, the food is pretty great. I've tried a variety of their meals and I've never been disappointed. However, the Pad See Ew is my all time fave. Their fresh rolls and awesome as well. And if you're into thai iced tea or coffee, I've been told it's really great here and comes with free refills (I tried it and find it's too sweet for me). The atmosphere is very laid back, service is pretty good (local younger girls, probably their first job), the decor is laughable as hell, and the place is clean! The music was the same song on repeat over and over. in the first ten minutes I wanted to give myself a lobotomy. The lady came over to check on us and I ordered our appetizers and drinks. I had ordered crab lagoons. She left and came back 5 min later empty handed. She asked what we wanted for our main meal. I got the ginger and fried veggies. 15 minutes later she comes out with the ginger and fried veggies but still no lagoons. The celery in my dish over powered everything and could not taste anything else. Finally my lagoons came half way through my dish and on the menu in dark bold letters it said fresh crab.... Unless the crab was puréed into the cheese it was not there. I did find 1 lump in the cheese and that may have been it. It was really cold in the building and my parter didn't finish there food. And said there was nothing she could do about it(like a credit) unless I drove 30 minutes back to her to give the dish back. This place is a joke. Thai Carrot closes at 8. The dining area closes at 7 because people wait until the very last minute to finish their meals making it almost impossible to close on time at 8. There is only two cooks and one waitress. Please be kind and please be courteous. I bet a lot of these people have never been in a costumer service position and have never had to deal with people who take advantage and bully the people who serve them. read more

What a wonderful surprise. The location is not impressive but the food was fantastic. Everything was fresh, great vegetables, perfectly cooked. Some of the best Thai food I have ever had. My husband had Maasaman curry and I had #53 which was a vegetable stir fry. If we lived nearby I would be a regular. They do take out as well. read more

I wasn't super thrilled with the prices, everything seemed a tad bit high for my taste, especially if it's not phenomenal food, it was delicious though for this area. That being said if you are looking for pho do not get it from here, it was awful. That was my mistake, seeing as it's a thai place so to expect decent pho was high hopes. Plus once again, the price for such terrible quality was so disappointing. The meat wasn't great at all and the broth was seriously lacking any good flavor, even with all the fresh condiments that I added, which they really skimped on too (3 basil leaves?) nothing could save this awful soup. I'm pretty sure it was a pho bouillon cube that they add to hot water. I would go back again to get noodle dishes because they were yummy, Phan se ew was delicious, but that alone couldn't save me from being super underwhelmed. As I sit here eating Yum Woon Sen (my favorite dish at Thai Smiles) I realize that I should have just waited till they re-opened. This is the lousiest I have ever eaten. So I just arrived home from attending this place in which I normally have a decent experience. I have only sat in the restaurant to eat a couple of times, today was significantly worse than any other experience I've had in most other places. The waitress got my order wrong, apparently it's because I was looking at a sign that contained a list of specials. The waitress brought me something fried then went into the kitchen to correct my order after I told her what I actually ordered. She then a few MINUTES later came back to remove the wrong order from my table. If she were going to take said order it should have been right when I said something about it. We were pleasantly surprised with how good this place turned out to be. With so many authentic Thai options in the Seattle area our bar for good Thai food is really high. While passing by Aberdeen on a road trip this turned out to be our only option due to various dietary needs in the group. Their online menu says they serve Thai , Vietnamese Pho and Teriyaki so we went in with very low expectations - thinking they will be like one of those average small town asian restaurants. However we were so wrong. We ordered Yellow Curry Fried Rice, Salmon Garlic, Ho Mok Ta Lay (special seafood in curry sauce), Chicken Pho and Crab wantons. The last time i had seafood this fresh was back in India and Thailand. The portions were generous, the spicy levels were perfect and everything tasted so good because it was all so fresh. Not sure being so close to all the commercial fisheries gives them an advantage - but boy those mussels were huge, two of us could split the salmon and still feel good and the shrimps and the scallops in the fried rice were cooked to perfection. I will say this is one of the best thai food i have had in a long time. Trust me - this coming from an Indian is a big deal because depending on which part of Indian you are from to many of us Thai food tastes like poor man's Indian food with lots of coconut and basil. The place as such has a very low-key appearance and there was only one server who did her best to keep up with all the demands. If you are looking for an up scale decor and want great ambience for a romantic dinner and such - you may be disappointed here. However if you are craving for some good Thai food this is the place to be at. We are definitely doing a detour on our way back to stop here for lunch. read more

Very dissapointed. I love Thai and was excited to grab some on my way out to Westport. Fresh summer wraps were gross. I think they used at least five rice wraps around mostly lettuce. It was very chewy and had an off- smell/taste, like they had been made days ago. The green curry was sad. Not like any other I've had. It's like they started making something else and changed their mind halfway through. Part of it is personal preference as I dislike canned bamboo shoots and having it in my green curry was a dismay. I have been here several times with good service, but when I visited on 4/3/2018 I was met with service so bad it was remarkable. First, when I ordered a beer she served it to me on ice with a straw, then when I asked for a new one I got the same beer strained and watered down. Our appatizers were served after an entree came out.... Then one of the people in our party just did not get dinner served to them, just no meal...... I paid full price for what we got but I could not bring myself to leave a tip because it was clearly the waitress who was inexperienced and had little support. I may never return..... read more

It doesn't look like much from the outside, I know, but the food that awaits you on the inside of this place it's incredible. I am a huge curry fan and Thai food is one of my favorite foods. The fried rice here is one of, if not the best I have ever had. They offer 8 or 9 different types of curry. (Not all curry is yellow.) My husband and I eat here often before a movie at the mall. The menu is very large! There are many choices and lots of healthy options as well. Including many vegetarian friendly choices. I will also add that MSG is not used in there food! Huge bonus for me!! I always want to try something new, but can't seem to get away from my favorite dish, mussaman curry made with an orange curry, coconut milk, choice of meat, potatoes, carrots, onions, and peanuts. Served with white basmati rice or an option of fried rice. As an appetizer we often get the chicken satay served with a great peanut sauce! Which you can tell is not from a jar or can but is made here. Another must try here is the iced Thai coffee or Thai tea. Both are incredible! And refills are free! I give the Thai carrot 5 stars. Based on there food! I will add one note. If I was rating on the building itself it would get a lower rating, this is mainly because the bathrooms here are horrendous! There is a terrible musty, rotten smell in the bathroom. So I would say, eat here, and save using the bathroom for another place if you can. If you absolutely have to use the restroom here, hold your nose! read more

My absolute favorite thing here: #36. Pad Kee Mao, with tofu. This place has, hands-down, the BEST Pad Kee Mao I've had anywhere. And it's right in my little town! My husband usually gets the Thai Iced Tea as well, which comes with free refills. I have also ordered the salad rolls and the red curry, and both of those were delicious. I have visited the Thai Carrot many times over the past few years and I am always pleased with my experience. The atmosphere is a bit tacky and on very cold days it simply isn't warm enough in the dining area to enjoy your meal, but the food is terrific (fresh, flavorful and cooked to order), the prices are reasonable and the service is always friendly and courteous. The only good thing about the food here is that you get free refills on the Thai ice tea. The noodles on the Pad Thai were super thin and overlooked, and the sauce tasted like it came from a tin can and was very ketchup tasting. The Pad Kee Mao was cooked incorrectly...the noodles were overdone and the basil was mushy and gray. One of the reviews said this was pretty good for Aberdeen, but that doesn't cut it on Yelp. We took most of the food home to give it to family in case they wanted it, but after one bite it all went on the trash. read more
