I've had better lol. The red beef curry I got was too watery. Not enough flavor or spice. I should of got a 3 instead of a 1 rating for spiciness. The shrimp blankets we got for an appetizer were pretty good. Basically shrimp wrapped in a eggroll wrap, it was not too bad. Ok so forgive me but I forgot what the other dish was..it was curry? Ordered delivery from here and got fresh food fairly quickly. We ordered the chicken satay, which came with a generous portion of chicken skewers and a delicious dipping sauce. The Thai Chili salad is basically fried tofu over iceberg lettuce with dressing and some broccoli. The dressing is delicious, but I basically ate it as items to be dipped in sauce rather than a traditional salad. The fried chicken wings had very thick breading & was flavorless. Although, I have to give kudos to the very fast delivery. Estimated time was 50-60 mins but got it within 20 minutes after I placed my order. (YAY for the $5 off coupon code YELP!) I was starving and food was very filling. Pricing is average. I stopped in for lunch during my work day because I was craving Thai food. It's cute and clean, two of my favorite things. I ordered the curry combo off their lunch menu and was amazed at how fast it came out! The service was great, very friendly. I didn't like the soup, it looked like a watered down chicken noodle soup but the rest was yummy. Their curry sauce is very good with lots of flavor but I found the pad Thai a little lacking flavor, which was kind of a bummer. All in all it's a good spot and I'd come again. read more

If I could give them half stars I would. It's not "a-okay" it's more "meh, I guess it's okay." Delivery time wasn't too bad, a little over an hour. I love peanut sauce, so swimming rama was an obvious choice for me. It was okay, but completely forgettable. It was completely bland and one note with a bit of heat at the end. It's definitely not something I would go back for any time soon. On the plus side, the veggies weren't overcooked. Most of them were actually cooked very well. Expect for the carrots. Those were obviously thrown in to the mix as an after thought because they were almost completely raw. Perhaps they also forgot other things, which would explain why it was so bland? This is my go to for authentic Thai cuisine. I have been a loyal patron for the 15 years I have been in the area. I loved their place on Washington, but their new place is out of this world. What a beautiful place to sit down and get your larb gai fix. I have eaten pretty much everything on the menu. From the soups, to the curries, the stir fry's and the noodle dishes you're not going to have a bad dish. The food looks fresh and inviting on the plate like a plate getting ready to be shot for a magazine shoot not like it needs a life preserver. They moved this year (last year?) from the corner of Washington and Gowe to 211 1st Ave. - in old downtown Kent. New location is an improvement, for sure. Great place! My sister kept on raving about it so I finally went. Glad I did. I had the pad su wen with bean thread noodles. They even took the pineapple out for me and threw in a scrambled egg with no hesitation for adjustments. 4 stars only cause the fresh spring rolls were bland. Peanut sauce was amazing though. My friend had the Panang curry and it was fantastic too. Now have cocktails which were great. My friends coconut martini even had a slice of fresh coconut in it. Servers were sooo nice too. OK, so it's true that Thai Chili Restaurant was our second choice for dinner tonight. Our first choice was the Russian Café Kolos on Benson up on Kent East Hill, but it looks like it has gone out of business. Trying to find Thai Chili was something of a nostalgia tour for both Penny and I because neither of us had been in Kent for over ten years, and had somewhat forgotten how the streets were laid out. I tried to tell her that Washington Ave N. was really W. Valley Highway, but she didn't believe me so we meandered all over downtown looking for Washington, which was cool, because it afforded the opportunity to observe how much things had (or had not) changed. It was interesting to see that Kent now has a Bridgeport Village-style shopping center. Penny said it used to be a softball field where she played as a young maiden. We arrived around six and we were the only customers, but when we left around 7:30pm, the restaurant was about half full. Thai Chili Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. I wish I had seen the angel wings (stuffed chicken wings) on the menu, because I would have ordered them. But since I didn't, and at Penny's suggestion, I ordered the Tom Yuk chicken soup (available as a $4 cup or as a bowl) with two stars heat. This coconut milk soup with a light hint of lemongrass was super delicious (the highlight of the night!). Oh, what may look like a thin wedge of potato in the soup is ginger. Don't eat that! As an appetizer we got the Seafood Assortment, which consisted of deep-fried shrimp (shaped rather like butterflies), breaded calamari, crab puffs and fish cakes. The breaded calamari reminded me of Popeye's chicken and the fish cakes had a sausage, slightly rubbery, texture. Overall the appetizer was okay. For entrees, we ordered pork green curry and beef see ew. Both were very good, though portions were a tad small. The curry with sliced bamboo and basil was especially creamy and smooth. While the beef in the see ew was somewhat sparse, its sauce was excellent. Service was good, though one waitress did attempt to take our plates before we done. Overall, a good eating experience, but really, Thai Chili is suitable just if you happen to be in the neighborhood. read more

"Great Thai food!" We dropped by on a whim while running a few errands and this place was a great surprise. Thai restaurants generally have the same flavors and taste to me.. Variations between restaurants are very slight, so it's critical to have good Thai whenever you eat it. The Thai food here was very tasty, very authentic and fresh. I agree with what everyone says, this is a must try for everyone. Prices are extremely reasonable and servings are very large. The food taste fresh and does not taste like it's been precooked. This is my go-to Thai place. I always order the same things at Thai places, and judge them by it. So your mileage may vary. The Spring rolls are light and delicate. They have a good texture, and aren't too dry or moist. The Pad See-ew with Beef is well seasoned, the noodles have a good texture, and on the 1-4 star scale, 4 stars is actually hot. (As in I eat habaneros regularly hot.) The Fried Banana with coconut icecream is very tasty, not over the top sweet, and has really good flavor. The prices are fairly average. The service is very good, though they can be a touch slow when it gets really busy. read more

The Crying Tiger is the best! I travel all over the country and their beef salad is amazing. Tender steak strips with perfect seasoning and spiced just right. They use cabbage instead of iceberg and that goes a long way. It's a must get here. Add a side of white rice and it's a full meal. I will most definitely be coming back here when in the Kent area.
