There were a few parking spaces and the building looks a little sketchy from the outside, but there's cozy indoor seating. I wasn't that hungry, so I split a Pad See Mao with seafood with my friend (4/5). Portions were sufficient for splitting, could definitely finish it on my own if I were a bit hungrier. There was a good amount of balance between vegetables (carrot, broccoli, bell pepper, onion) and seafood (shrimp, squid, and mussels). The spice level was as-expected and very reasonable. Noodle texture was nice and chewy. It wasn't the best pad see mao I've had (especially since it was a bit pricier, around $26 after tax and tip), but it was solid enough that I'd go again if I were in the area. I tried my friend's Grandma Wings, which had a better portion than I expected (I think there were six?). Nice crisp and good flavor, but I didn't think it was anything crazy (3.5/5). The Thai Tea here was too sweet for my taste, personally. My friend enjoyed it. Overall, solid experience here for a fast bite of good Thai food. This place has been here for ages. I've probably been 5 or 6 times. It's always good imo. The food was delicious. I got yellow curry, no potatoes, add bell peppers and broccoli. They let me alter it so that alone gets a star. I like that the restaurant is actually some grandma's house transformed. The server was nice enough. I was the only person in the restaurant. They get lots of to-go orders though. My personal only critiques are the interior could use a color change/deep cleaning and some kind of divider from the kitchen and the eating area. We dined at the restaurant in July 2023. It was a hot day, the AC was on, but the whole place (an d house) was hot from the heat coming from the kitchen. Food was still good, though not as good as I remembered from years ago. I still recommend Grandma's wings. Other dishes we tried - Pad See Ew (not as smokey as I like), basil stirfry with beef, red curry and papaya salad, were all good, but nothing too special. Service is excellent. The waiter told us that him and his wife own the restaurant. He takes care of the front of the house, and his wife cooks in the kitchen. They have owned and run this place for over 10 years. My husband brought home Thai food for dinner, but he didn't mention that he had tried a new place instead of our usual Thai restaurant--the one we always go to when I'm too tired to cook. As I was eating, I noticed the Green Curry tasted different. It was so delicious that I asked if they had a new cook. That's when my husband said, "No, it's from Grandma Thai Cuisine." First time to this Grandma Thai place. It actually operates from a family home in Kent, with an elderly gentleman serving customers and the chef who would be his wife, grandma with an assistant cooking in the kitchen. This business is in fact very homely and has the impact of being at someone's home which makes others feel comfortable and relaxed. The menu is well organized and provides popular dishes like Pad Thai, curries, salad and soups etc. We started our meal with their garlic fried chicken, which was rather salty with the black sauce on top, but after removing the top ingridients, the chicken is very crispy and tasty. Pad Thai with tofu was well prepared with a nice aroma of stir fried cooking and the best dish of the meal was the seafood Tom Yum which had the perfect taste with herbs. Spices added the right heat and nice hand picked ingredients i.e, baby squid, scallop, shrimp etc. One of the best Tom yum I experience in the Seattle area. Not sure how this place has 4 stars. The food is extremely salty and oily. As an example the eggplant dish was drenched in oil to the point where they just dumped the entire oil they cooked it with into the takeout container. The pad Thai didn't taste quite right (tasted sweet and didn't have that slightly red look to it). Thai iced coffee is brown and looks more like Vietnamese coffee. My parents had to wash their food to get rid of the salt. My husband and I were so thirsty after eating from here that it took a whole evening of drinking water to get rid of all the salt consumed. read more

I'm from out of town here for work and ordered Uber eats. I ordered two meals because I wanted lunch the next day. I ordered shrimp yakisoba and cashew chicken. Wow! The food was so good!! My only complaint was I asked for a level three heat on the yakisoba and there was no heat, but I dipped the juice from the cashew chicken in it and it was perfect. It's a house from the outside. That's actually kind of the appeal. It has a homey feel to it. On the door is a sign stating 'Homeless Meals Available After 8pm Daily'. So they have good hearts here. The menu at lunch offers traditional fare and many assortments. Pad Thai and Jasmine rice with each. I had the Red Curry w/tofu. My wife chose the Green Curry w/Chicken. The flavors! Subtle but distinct, not homogenized the way many larger Thai places shoot for. Very distinct and accurate. Very delicious. The assortment of pepper sauces and oils on the table afford an opportunity to try different spice levels and flavors. The family that operates it is friendly, engages you about what you like and don't like. It leaves a nice place to return to and a plan for what to order when you do. I had ordered yakisoba and later received a phone call that they didn't have that item and was recommended to get the drunken noodles. I wouldn't recommend anyone to order the crab rangoons they had no flavor. I personally really like peanut sauce on my pad Thai, and when I went to pick up I was told they are out. Based off of the other reviews I expected better from this restaurant. Maybe if I dined in my experience would've been different. Terrible experience here tonight. I really like their food, but not sure why I would ever go back after being treated this way. We were unable to place an order by phone because Verizon reported it as busy, so we used Uber to place a pick-up order. We used this service because it's the one listed on their web site. When we arrived to pick-up the food, they had trouble locating it and asked for verification of what we ordered. They told us a customer took the wrong order. Rather than offer to make it for us immediately, given that it was their mistake, they said they could re-print the order and that it would take a while as it would be placed at the back of the line. This seems like a very strange policy considering they gave the food to the wrong customer. They took no fault for this and told us to contact Uber for a refund. I understand they can't refund us directly, and have no issue with that. But I'm not going to come here if they can't make sure customers get the right order and put the onus on customers for their mistakes. I've spent hundreds of dollars here, but will happily take it elsewhere. read more

The flavor for all 3 dishes were delicious but the spicy level was definitely less than 4 stars. So, if you prefer more than just a lil kick, make sure you let them know. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 bc we found a lonnnnng piece of hair swimming in our curry. We told the server, she was super apologetic and really sweet. Yesterday I ordered over the phone it was my first time trying them out because their super close to my friends house I decided to try, I ordered the Pud see ew 3 stars and Tom yum 4 stars to start off the Pud see ew was good and the Tom yup didn't taste like 4 stars but overall was good I got the seafood one and one thing I liked was they add muscles to it but then there was the service upon pickup I left a tip as always even when I'm just picking up and I asked for a wet chili sauce to go with my meal and the woman who gives you your delivery was already sitting down eating lunch when I got there with friends so she was trying to rush me out from the start so she first tells me they don't have any and I was shocked because I've never went to any Thai restaurant that doesn't have that but then her friend chimes in and she all of a sudden had some she then proceeds to give me the smallest container of wet chili sauce and as bad as I wanted to ask for more because it wouldn't nearly be enough for both of my meals I ordered I took it and left and of course when I got to my friends it wasn't enough. So then today because it's close to my friends I tried them out again and this time ordered on door dash for pickup and I called ahead to make sure it was ready she said yes it's ready and there's an obvious language barrier but I never am one to complain about those things but obviously she didn't understand me so I had to wait a while upon arrival for it to be made and then while I was waiting they told me to order off the phone next time and do not use door dash again so I'm not sure why they even have it as an option and I found that strange to tell a customer how to order. Then this time when I got my food I asked for 2 containers of wet chili sauces because I know I would need more and she flat out told me no and proceeded to show me that she only had a little left in her jar which wasn't even a little and her jar being the same one they put out on every table when customers come in and she had about 5 more jars full that I could clearly see so she either didn't feel like scooping me up another jar or just plain out didn't want to so I just grabbed my food and left and as I was leaving I believe she could tell I was disappointed so she tried to run out the door and tell me never mind I could have another wet chili sauce but at this point I'm done with them as a restaurant and will not be coming back in the future wether the food is okay or not the service is terrible and a paying customer should have the things they need to go with their meal. read more

Ok. Gonna have to say Yelp steered me wrong on this one. Arrived at exactly 11am & my friend and I were the first customers to arrive so luckily we got one of the 3 parking spaces available in their tiny lot. Server said sorry all out of PG & the wine we do have we don't have enough for a full glass. Nice thing would then be to pour what was left & give it to her complimentary since they couldn't sell it. So then she asked for plain Iced Tea. Nope. Only Thai Iced Tea. Okay, water it is. My friend ordered their drunken noodles with a side of peanut sauce. It was very good. Good sized portion. Very hot in temperature. Not too spicy hot. (Make sure to get a spice/hot sauce caddy). I ordered the basil chicken lunch combo. It was ok. Too many bell peppers & onions for my liking. Felt like I ordered fajitas. Lunch combo egg rolls don't automatically come with dipping sauce so ask for some on the side or make your own with vinegar & sambas from hot sauce caddy. A few really negative things that make me give it 3 stars. Friend went to use ladies room & there was no toilet paper or paper towels and the floor was wet. I used it after they serviced it and there was a heater placed inside in an attempt to dry the floor but all it did was make the room a sauna. Also carpet inside the restaurant is disgusting. They need to rip it out & replace with linoleum or something else that can be cleaned easier. I think their food is good but I wouldn't dine in again. read more

Was craving some Thai Food so decided to give this place a try. My BF and I both had the chicken pad thai, and the grandma wings. The pad thai was ok, but it tasted like they went overboard on the fish sauce, and the noodles were overcooked. The grandma chicken tasted ok, It was basically chicken wings deep fried with some garlic thrown on top of it. The garlic did not stick to the chicken. Overall good place to eat. Small, dated eatery, but comfortable. On the day of my visit, there were a man and woman, both focused on their laptops, plus a cook working. They stopped their computer work and took care of me. It appeared the man was the owner or manager, the female was the server. The service is not really attentive to refilling drinks, I had to ask for a refill of water, after being out for 25 minutes and really getting thirsty. The man was very nice, seemed to provide great customer service to all who came in. They have a busy takeout business and a steady dine in business from what I observed during my time eating there on a Friday evening. I had the beef salad, which was good but had more beef than lettuce. The Ton Yum soup was good, but lacked much in the way of vegetables, except it had sufficient mushrooms. After 5 p.m. the place got very busy. Both workers and the cook were busier than they could keep up with. The phone rang over and over again but went unanswered as the workers catered to people in the restaurant instead of those calling in. Only when things slowed to a less hectic pace, around 6 p.m., were the phones able to be answered. If you call and can't get through keep trying. If you drive to the restaurant be prepared to wait about 15-20 minutes for your order, as it is made to order, not in advance. I will be back and try other dishes. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
