Thai Diamond has some excellent food but they are a nightmare when you try to order take out food. We have routinely found that even if you call in an order early or put the request in through Grubhub, they still refuse to start your food until you actually show up at the restaurant. If it was quick for them to whip up the food, that wouldn't be a problem. As it is, they usually take 20-25 minutes to cook the food, meaning even if you plan ahead, Thai Diamond will ensure that you are stuck waiting. So, if you don't mind a bizarre inability to take orders and get them ready in a timely manner if you're not physically in the building, you might get to enjoy a solid yellow curry, delicious Pad See Ew, fairly good egg rolls, fine Thai teas and quite good duck dishes. If only they could bring themselves to property handle take out, I would give them one more star. read more

Thai Diamond BBQ is hands down my favorite place to eat in town. The food is phenomenal. The owner/cook is from Thailand, and you can definitely tell by her cooking. Great options and portions, and they also have an awesome lunch special. They also make their own boba, and have a wide selection of drinks. Great restaurant for lunch or dinner, and they also deliver which is always helpful. I work in the shopping center and they even hand deliver food if you call and ask ahead of time. Super super helpful, especially with my busy work schedule. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants to frequent in the area. The food is always very good quality with customer service that can't be beat. Great Thai restaurant in the Glendora/San dimas/la verne area! Sam and Vivi are the owners and they are great host! I was impressed by the authenticity of the dishes! And I been to Thailand on numerous occasions. You have to understand, the pride of the foothills and surrounding cities are covered in safe corporate restaurant chains. Ordered because of 4-star rating. Food was not good. The rice and beef terrible and there was minimal beef, which would not have mattered because it did not taste good. Had the worst orange chicken I ever had. The tea was $2.50 and not drinkable. To top it off, they are overpriced! Do not eat here! read more

Hubby wanted to eat noodles on this rainy day and our usual spot was super busy with catering orders so I searched in Yelp, which took us to this diamond in the rough, so to speak. The pad woon sen (seafood variant) was very tasty and flavorful. At just $8.95, it was priced fairly, too. The Fried Cat Fish was pretty good actually. a little bit sweeter than is like but it's up to par. We've been to Thailand twice now and have a fair comparison to what Thai food should be. Holy mother of god I wish I could give this place negative infinity stars. I honestly do not know how this place is rated THIS high. I seriously created a yelp account just to rate this place. Seriously, this food literally gave me a bad trip. My experience (as well as my friends) with this food last night was horrific to say the least. You know maybe I'm jaded; I've lived in Monterey Park my whole life and I know what some bomb Thai food should taste like, especially considering the price point here-- but wow. What a major disappointment. $72 dollars for what should literally have cost $20. Considering we were all pretty hungry that day, Thai food sounded pretty bomb. Then again, in Glendora a.k.a. "White People Extravaganza", I can't expect anything Thai/Chinese/etc to taste nearly as good as anything found in San Gabriel Valley, but I reserved judgement because you never know, right? . We ordered a few dishes. Chicken Noodle pan fried, Yellow Curry with chicken, Spicy Crispy chicken, and shrimp tempura. 30 minutes later the dude rolls up, gives us our food and it smells...good...I think? It's reminiscent of what Thai food should smell like so I'm like, alright let's see how it looks. Open the "Spicy Crispy" chicken. Looks good. Take a piece.....Holy shit. They should have named it "Gummy Breaded Garbage" It was neither spicy nor Crispy and had the consistency of left over orange chicken from PF Chang's that had been repeatedly reheated in a microwave for way too long. It tricked all of us. It tasted good for the first second, then I had to toss whatever rest of the piece I had away because it was that bad. We all looked at each other like dude, wtf is this? I started to get an anxiety attack and severe depression because this was possibly the most inedible food I've ever eaten. I personally ordered yellow curry with chicken, because, Curry is bomb. Unfortunately after my devastating experience with probably the worst mistake of my life, I was incredibly hesitant to try this next science experiment. Welp, I spent $10 on this so I might as well. Worst mistake #2. Grabbed a spoonful. Instant regret. Gritty and overly spiced. It was as if they just accidentally spilled the entire box of yellow curry powder in the soup and were like, "it's Glendora, they'll think it's good anyways". At this point I was like I don't care if I blew $100 on this meal, there's no way I'm finishing this. I can't speak for the other dishes because I was too afraid at this point to venture into intentional cruelty to my palate, but according to one friend, it tasted like how barf smells. Mmm. Sounds great. Thank God I went to the Vons down the street earlier and bought two large bags of Hot Cheetos and Sun Chips, because that became my dinner. After a hazmat team and the CDC had to dispose of the food to and ship it off to feed prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, I was relieved my nightmare was over. TL;DR If you've never had food ever in your life, you'll probably think this is acceptable. Additionally, If you truly want to experience the "would i rather die than eat this" personal dilemma, then go for it. If you have any sanity, avoid this place and try Thai Paradise in Monterey Park, or literally anywhere. Even a dumpster. read more

My sister and I ordered the chicken satay. It was raw in the middle, every piece!!! So when we brought it to the attention to the owner, he gave a weak apology and sent it back. And when we did get it back 10 minutes later, it was chared! We couldn't eat half of it. The owner said we would get 10% off of the bill, which was ridiculous. A friend suggested this place recently so we went for dinner on a Sunday evening. We ordered egg rolls, pad see ew, and orange chicken to share. We couldn't decide between veggie spring rolls and a meat egg roll so the waiter suggested a split order. Perfect! The meat variety were slimmer than the veggie kind, but they were both good. The veggie wasn't too bland like a lot I've had before and the meat ones had a nice, hearty flavor. The noodles for our pad see ew were cooked perfectly and the chicken was delicious. It seemed high quality. I also enjoyed that the orange chicken was chicken with sauce made from actual oranges, not chicken drowning some artificial neon orange sauce. They use fresh ingredients and you can tell it's made to order. We usually get take out but we decided to eat there and the food was even better because it was served just as it was done cooking and it tasted so good. Thai diamond Im driving along and spot this gem of a place from the drivers side of my window so i pull in excited for some high quality Thai food its in a stripish mall setting walking in i felt very invited i was sat down and asked what i would like to drink and decide on getting the raspberry ice tea (awesome drink) After scanning through the menu several times i decide on getting the yellow curry comes with steamed rice it has chicken carrots and potatoes So i mix the rice in with the curry (i dont know if anyone else does this im. Hoping someone does so i feel less awkward). Went here with a group of people during the weekend.
