My go to Thai spot for when I'm craving a SPREAD. Their crab rangoons are some of the best I've ever had, their pad thai can do no wrong (friends say they don't mess around with their spice levels, but I'm the kind of person to order a level -5 so I wouldn't personally know), the peanut sauce for dipping your spring rolls is out of this world and the wonton soup has a unique flavor profile that I crave on a chilly Nashville day. This was our visit to the new location. While we preferred the old ambiance, this new place is very welcoming and lovely. I was impressed with the look. The noise level, however, was far too loud for us. We had Tom yum soup that was as good as before, chicken satay with curry, papaya salad and pad thai. The food was excellent. In particular, the papaya salad was so fresh. Delightful. Chris, our server, was very attentive and helpful. This is the best Thai food we have had in Nashville so far. Besides the outrageous decibel level at this place, the napkins are like sandpaper. I'm sure they are really, really absorbent for spills, but they aren't too comfortable otherwise. I've ordered takeout twice. The good news it's ready fast and the green curry is delicious. The bad news is the portion size doesn't warrant the price. So good! Greeted by a super friendly hostess who was sure to acknowledge me although she was busy seating others. Good start! Love the atmosphere and great for a date night (sometimes hard to come by with Thai food in Nashville). This place is so delicious! I ordered the Bangkok wings and the salmon curry the other day. The wings were nice, crispy and you can taste the chili sauce, it wasn't overpowering, it was perfect! Then, the salmon curry was out of this world because my favorite fish is salmon and it goes perfectly with the curry, both flavors combined is like an explosion in your mouth but in a good way lol - I would recommend ordering these 2 dishes along with the Thai Tea! Wow this was bad Thai food. Ordered the green curry and the Tom Kha Gai soup. These are obviously strong flavored choices. Well the soup was inedible as it lacked all flavor except coconut. This is usually a soup with a very strong lemongrass taste and nothing. I tried adding my own lemon juice but it was useless. I completely wasted my money. I ate the green curry because I was hungry but it also had only a coconut flavor. It was way too sweet and lacked all tang that is usual with green curry. I don't know if all the good reviews are from people who don't know good Thai food but I can't imagine there's any other explanation. This is lazy cooking. The most prevalent ingredient in both dishes was green bell pepper. I'm sure that's a much cheaper option than lemongrass and basil and all the other things needed to make a good Thai dish. Called in for pickup on a Monday night, was told my order would be ready in 30 minutes, which seemed long for a Monday night. I arrived right at that time and my food was ready at the bar. Fresh Rolls - Boring. The inside was flavorless save for the shrimp, and the sauce was excessively sweet, almost like caramel. Drunken Noodles - So disappointing. I've never had drunken noodles or pad kee mao so bland before. I didn't taste any basil or sweetness that usually comes with drunken noodles. The only resemblance of sauce was just residual juice from the beef, and the noodles themselves were flavorless. Spicy Edamame - Perhaps this is my fault, but these were so far beyond spicy that there should have been more of a warning. They were covered in chilis that after three pods I couldn't have any more. So incredibly disappointing. I was so excited when Thai Esane moved to Division, but this was a terrible experience. Maybe I got the wrong items, but I'm not sure I can give them another shot after this. read more

The food is alright but not worth the price. It's definitely not the best Thai I've had in Nashville, but not bad by any means. I was very upset about the fact that they secretly upcharge on certain items. I went there once and ordered a simple Pad Thai. The menu something along the lines of "choose your protein: chicken, tofu, shrimp, beef, etc." but did NOT mention that there was a $5 upcharge for shrimp. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai thinking it would cost the same as any other meat because it was not specified otherwise. First off there were not that many shrimp in my dish and they were tiny and you could tell they were frozen not fresh. When I got my bill and it charged me $20 for Pad Thai I just about lost it. How the hell do you get off charging $5 for 6 baby little shrimp?!?! Very sneaky and dishonest. The fact that pad Thai was $15 without the shrimp was already pretty ridiculous. The portion was not huge and it tasted no better than your average pad Thai. Waaayyy too overpriced for very mid Thai food. If you want good Thai food for a good price, go to King Market, where most of the menu is under $10 and tastes significantly better. read more

Quite well-versed in Nashville's Thai cuisine, I can say without hesitation theirs is exceptional, the best, and my favorite. The dishes are well-crafted, ranging from Thai standards to fantastic originals. Spice comes in 4 levels, only 3 of which I've tried! Their Esane sausage is phenomenal, a must have, accompanied by their homemade ginger sauce. We were here for dinner, the place and the ambience was great! We ordered fried veggie rolls for appetizers , which were good . For main course we went with Thai style lo mein and Esane fried rice . The fried rice was really good with right amount of spice. We asked for same spicy level on the Lo Mein but the Lo Mein was bland . For the Lo mein ,the reason we ordered because it had basil in it , to our surprise we did not see any basil leaves in the dish. Upon asking our server , he simply replied saying " Oh! they might of forgotten ".It was specifically mentioned on the menu and we were not exoectibg this . Tragic slop! I had high hopes for this restaurant but it was an utter disappointment in all aspects, service, food and decor! As a frequent traveler of Thailand and a diner that hits Thai restaurants in different cities around the world, I am saddened that this is what Nashville has to offer. They have a beautiful Buddha that greets dinners at the front door and than it goes downhill from there. The restaurant is not welcoming to its new dinners and there is no information given what do ever about the menu or the restaurant. The decor and the ambiance resembles a fast food restaurant. We ordered the fresh rolls and beef salad as starters. The peanut sauce that came with the rolls had a weird greenish color kinda like bird poop and looked like it came out of a squirt bottle which was super unappetizing! The rolls were stuck together so they were hard to share. The beef salad had hunks of peppers and older iceberg lettuce with none of the fresh elements this salad is known and loved for. We found it rather odd it was served with white rice. We then ordered the fried rice with chicken and the red curry. The red curry had a nice flavor but was super watered down and cold. The fried rice with chicken rice was also cold and had very little substance, very little broccoli and egg. All in all, this was not a nice dinning experience and I will not be back and I will definitely advise others not to waste the time and money! read more

Was anxiously waiting the reopen of my long time favorite Thai restaurant. However, I was pretty disappointed. My husband and I went on Friday night. The new location is clean and spacious, but not the same atmosphere as before. At the old location I would order spice level 3/5 so when ordering my husband and I decided to order "medium." My husband and I can handle heat, I mean we love some good hot food, but this was unbearable. It was so hot, we both couldn't eat our meals. The spring rolls were pretty good, however, I was slightly disappointed with the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) dish. The heat of the dish was overpowering (medium spicy) at times and was not married as well as I've had previously at the old location. I recently moved to the Nashville area and this place came highly recommended. I have always enjoyed Thai, but as far as authenticity is concerned; in many cases it is hit or miss. Not here! Incredible food, great ambiance, very friendly staff. This place has it all. I started out with an order of the calamari. I was told that it's fried to perfection and not rubbery like some places serve. It definitely lived up to its expectations. Following I ordered egg rolls. Fresh cabbage, and a very flaky crust which reminded me of a well made baklava. Both the appetizers came with a sweet and spicy Thai dipping sauce. For my main entree, I ordered the Sausage Esane, and sticky rice. To be honest, I was expecting steamed rice. Nope, sticky sweet rice that you could either eat by hand, or easily pick up with chop-sticks. Very good flavor, incredible consistency too. I realize that some may say, "how can you mess up rice?" Well, generally speaking, it's usually too soft and mushy, or it winds up coming to you crunchy. The rice here was perfect. The entree was well seasoned. Lemon grass and dill. Two of my absolute favorites. The portion was hearty and was garnished with iceberg lettuce and cucumber slices. Also served with a very spicy sauce for dipping. My server Chris was very informative. Told me about some of the local favs around the area, as well as recommended a couple places for some more skin art (tattoos). He was very attentive and polite and made my first experience at this establishment a very enjoyable one. Thai Esane popped up for me when I was searching for Thai restaurants on our weekend trip to Nashville. I went in expecting nothing really, but we walked out absolutely in love with this place. The food is tasty & they offer multiple spice options for the various palates. We ordered the spicy edamame (VERY spicy), fresh rolls, drunken fried rice, Penang curry, & drunken noodles. I also ordered an Einstok beer. The food is perfectly spiced & has a ton of flavor. The staff is so accommodating (we were stuck during 2 overlapping thunderstorms) & the manager Tein is kind, professional, & very helpful. The ambience is casual, but still has the feel of fine dining - for us, the perfect balance. I recommend anyone in the Nashville area to visit here (we visited the midtown location). read more
