I love green curry and this one did not disappoint. The flavor of the curry was my favorite part and I appreciated the nice variety of vegetables. I probably should have ordered the chicken or shrimp green curry as I felt I needed a bit more protein but that is on me. I think I would have preferred the regular steamed rice instead of the coconut rice. The coconut rice had a firmer, stickier texture that, in my opinion, took away from the flavor of the curry. The waiter was very friendly and made the experience feel comfortable and welcoming and the inside looked clean and beautiful. I gave this spot a try for lunch today. I was not disappointed! The staff is friendly and professional. A parking lot is conveniently located right across from the entrance to the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and there is good spacing between tables and booths. I ordered the Thai dumplings as my app with the Thai Foon Special fried rice (no heat), I don't do spicy food very well. This spot is consistently good. Their food is like a fusion between Chinese and Thai. The coconut rice is delicious and rich, highly recommend substituting it for the jasmine. We love the chicken and lettuce wraps, salty and crunchy. The Thai Foon stir fry with vegetables is lovely and vibrant in color. It's not totally authentic Thai, not as spicy so if you have family that likes mild spice or you yourself don't tolerate that sweat inducing Thai spice this spot is for you. We have had lovely wait staff, food is hot and quick. I'm always grateful when I eat out at a restaurant and I feel great after the meal.. sometimes it's a bellyache at some places. I'm a pretty decent home cook so we rarely go out but this is one of a few spots we like. I ordered Tom Kha Soup. Soup was flavorful and well balanced. It comes with noodle crisps. There is tofu and veg in the soup. Good coconut taste and well suited for my taste. I also got a Tofu Pad Thai. Again good flavor and balance. The egg is cooked in the traditional way - it coats the noodles and vegetables. There is a generous amount of peanut which is a plus for me. When ordering pick up, it's always super quick and same speed with dining in. Plus, the portion is great for the price! Usually I can get 2 meals out of one order. We visited Thaifoon this past week, with slight trepidation because as vegetarians, I'm always charry about being served dishes with oyster or fish sauce (which, to me smells dreadful!). But.. to our surprise, they had a completely separate menu clearly indicating what dishes contained that oyster sauce and what dishes could not be made without it. So that was the good part and the waiter(s) were VERY friendly and helped us order something that was completely vegetarian. But from there, things went completely downhill! Edamame salad was a joke.. something, even a college student could make better! It was just steamed Edamames with NO flavor! I ordered General Tso's with tofu, and it was absolutely one of the best Thai dishes I have ever had. The sauce was delicious, unique and not too sweet. The deep fried tofu was delicious and abundant. I love tofu and it was way more than I could eat. More than half of my meal went into a take out container. My coworker ordered drunken noodles with chicken and she was very pleased with her food as well. She also order the hot and sour soup, and we both had summer rolls. Everything was truly excellent. Thai Foon seems to be a newer restaurant located at the end of a huge outdoor mini-mall (seems like an oxymoron) We found a table at the beginning of the lunch crowd and the place was already full (always a good sign) I gave the menu a quick scan again (I already made my choices from the online menu when I did my research the day before) Our orders started coming out quickly beginning with the summer rolls and the dumplings. The summer rolls were fresh and perfect with the peanut dipping sauce The dumplings were just o.k, the flavors were good but I thought the dumpling wrapper was a bit too thick for me. My wife got the chicken and green beans as her entree for lunch and was very impressed (so much that she forgot to offer me a taste) I went with the shrimp Pad Thai and the House fried rice (Don't judge me) The Pad Thai was very good, perfectly cooked so the shrimp were still bouncy and the noodles still had a nice chew to them. A lot of places make Pad Thai way too sweet but Thai Foon knows exactly how to do it right. The House fried rice was absolutely fantastic, prepared so perfectly with flavors so balanced that absolutely no condiments were needed. Overall Thai Foon has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Pennsylvania. The chefs have mastered their craft set into a really nice upscale place.
