Several coworkers and I placed to-go orders this week. When we swung by at the appointed hour our food was just coming off the line and super fresh! Seems like a fun place to come in and stay for a meal but during the lunch hour it was already pretty busy at 12pm (they open at 11), so would recommend a smaller group to ensure quick seating (we had 7, hence the to-go order). I ordered the Jap Chap with chicken and was happy with the portion size, amount of chicken and fresh vegetables. I ordered at a level 4 spice (scale is from 1-5) and it was quite mild. I had a buddy who ordered at the 5 and it was much hotter with actual Thai chilis. I wish there was a 4.5 as mine was a little too low and his was too hot. Came here for the first time for lunch. Ordered their appetizer of summer rolls and their Thai noodle soup with tofu. Total was under $20 (without tip). What's Hot - Quality. My summer rolls were delish. Good pieces of shrimp, veggies, and vermicelli noodles. Their peanut dipping sauce also had a slight spicy kick to it, which was nice. My Thai noodle soup was also a bit spicy, which added more to the flavor. - Portions. My Thai noodle soup had a good amount of noodles, broth, and tofu. It looks like about 1/2 a block of firm tofu, which was nice. I love tofu, so that they didn't skimp on that was good. The summer rolls have a generous amount of filling in it, as well. - Location. It's in a convenient location near a movie theatre, other shops and restaurants, and a Giant Eagle. It doesn't look like it's hard to find parking either, which is nice. - Layout. It's nicely laid out with booths and tables. - Service. Up until the end when we paid our bill, the wait staff were polite and attentive in checking in on us. What's Not - Asian fusion. This place isn't really just Thai food. It's a combination/fusion of Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, and some Chinese. For example, their summer rolls and Pho are really Vietnamese. Having had authentic ethnic cuisines, I'm not a fan of restaurants labeling themselves a particular ethnic cuisine, but really being a fusion. It gets confusing and somewhat misrepresentative. That also means you find items on the menu that aren't really part of that ethnic cuisine. - Quality. There were barely any veggies in my soup, which was disappointing. There were slivers of bamboo, carrots and bak choy (I think it was bak choy). Good Asian noodle soups always have a good amount of veggies. Veggies take on the flavor of the broth, which adds to it. This didn't have it. - Service. Be aware, this place doesn't have chopsticks already on the table. You have to ask for them. Once we paid our tab, we stuck around and chatted a bit. However, the wait staff left us alone and did not check in on us. I've been to other restaurants where the wait staff will check in on you and at least refill our water glasses. To me, that's the mark of good service. Final Answer This place rates between 3 to 4 stars. It's not bad, but it doesn't stick out. I've had better. I grabbed lunch here during a week day and it was really busy which was a good sign to me! I ended up being right - my lunch was good! We started with an appetizer of edamame which were a little over cooked and under salted. I ordered pad Thai and not being a big fan of spice, I got just a level one. I'm a die hard Thai food lover, so I always have some high expectations set in my mind for certain dishes, especially pad Thai. It is tough for me to believe, well not really tough, to find any decent Thai food around the Pittsburgh area. You would think that famous known spots like Nicky's Thai Kitchen or Smiling Banana Leaf or a place called Thai Cuisine could serve decent Pad Thai or Pad See Ew, curries, etc. I have struck out everywhere I went of course except for Thai Foon. Thai Foon is located in Robinson Township not too far from the airport. Though on a couple of visits they had a few "off days", overall their dishes were flavorful and reasonably priced. I typically like to order: Crab Rangoons- light crunch and not too thick or oily Drunken Noodles - I always ask them to substitute the thick rice noodle they ise for Pad Se Ew since that is the CORRECT noodle to use for this entree. Fried rice - most times good but a few times too much salt or soy sauce added Panang or Red Curry - rich and great over rice. Jap Chap - delicious glass noodles that really is a Korean favorite called Jap Chae. Keep Thai Foon in mind for your Thai craving. read more

We tend to order Pad See Ew (this one's my fave - love the wider noodles) General Tso, Panang, Drunken Noodles or Pad Thai. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! So I went in around 5pm on 12/18/2024 with my girlfriend to have an early dinner and the place was empty when we walked in so we're the only two patrons in the place. My issue was that they seated us and we waited 10 minutes and nobody ever came to take a drink order or even greet us after we were seated by the hostess.we saw the three employees at the hostess stand just looking at the computer screen and giggling away as if they were just hanging out. There was another employee who to me was the waitress she was Asian with long black hair she walked by us numerous times as if she was going to take our order but she would walk by every time. Finally got tired of waiting for someone so we got up and left and the funny thing is as we were leaving the guy says have a good night he gave zero fucks. Sad place and horrible service I don't care how many good reviews they have I will never go back there. My spouse had Chicken Pad Thai. It was off on the taste we are accustomed to at other Thai Restaurants. We realized the menu here is fusion so the lack of authenticity for the Thai dish brings this down one star. The food is excellent. I would give the food five stars! The service last night was the worst I have ever had. We had a young woman with dark hair who was clearly annoyed by the fact that we asked for water or the meals we actually ordered. She walked by and silently dropped off one meal out of three - and it was not even what my daughter ordered. My son almost got what he ordered. He likes food to be very spicy and his had none. I'm sure some unsuspecting customer had his or her eyebrows singed when they tried his food! The server was unattentaive and rude. I am a good tipper, but left her no tip, which I never do! I always love Thai foon. Food is always great. My go-to is the spicy basil chicken. I tried the hot and sour soup for the first time and it was really good. I wish the lunch position came with soup or an egg roll like the other Thai place in Robinson (Papaya) Lastly, maybe it is just a busy time for them on a week-day lunch but service is slower. We really needed our checks fast since we were on our lunch break, but the waitress was really hard to flag down. Other than that though, we will continue to come. Let's go through the meal shall we Steamed dumplings : microwaved dumplings that they bought from shop n save and heated the sauce up in hot water. The dumplings were luke warm and slimy , extremely chewy (ew) and was too thick with no filling. Pho : tasted like dishwater that they soaked the dumpling sauce in. Had NO FLAVOR, NONE. Supposed to be a "beef broth" that was not to be found. Added chili oil to try to give it some flavor and that didn't work. Hardly ate any of it wouldn't even feed to the cats at home or they'll get sick from it too. Spicy basil chicken : again where is the spice and basil ?? It tasted like a sweet and sour chicken you get from a Chinese restaurant not a "THAI RESTAURANT" the sauce was SO THICK when it is not supposed to be!!! I had Thai food from Angkor restaurant and it was amazing (especially their red curry; sadly Angkor restaurant was closed today). The moment I saw the red curry, I knew it was going to be bad because I'm sure the dish consisted of primarily coconut milk. It was a creamy color and hardly had any spice/red to the color of the curry. The pad see ew tasted like nothing but spice; like the red chili powder. No soy sauce or fish sauce or anything. Thai Foon in Robinson is a decent quick fix for some Thai fare if you're in the area. Although we ordered takeout, the restaurant looks clean and on the fancier side. Chicken Pad Thai- 3.4/5 I get Pad Thai cravings a lot, and since we just moved to Robinson, I wanted to give this a shot. I got a spice level 4/5 but the dish wasnt spicy at all. The sauce the noodles are cooked in seemed to be missing an ingredient or two, as it didn't taste like most Pad Thai's. It wasn't necessarily bad... just was not up to par. Although Thai Foon as been takeout-only since the pandemic started, I have been going here for years for the best Thai food in the area. Their green curry and pad thai are better than any I've had, and even their fried rice is bursting with flavor. Their soups and chicken lettuce wraps are addicting as well. I also love that they have a full bubble tea bar with multiple flavor and topping options. Service has always been fast, with large, steaming hot portions every time. I got the Tom Kha soup and the spicy Basil noodle with beef. I really love Tom Kha soup and there is only one place that constantly blows me out of the water with it so it's hard to change my mind. This Tom Kha soup was okay. It has good flavor but not the best. Lots of onion, though, which is good and there was a good amount of tofu. The spicy basil was pretty spicy and they leave whole jalapeños in it. The beef was not that good, though. Unfortunately, this dish gave me a stomach ache. I've had a lot better Thai basil dishes. The service was fine, though. Nice people who work there. I most likely will never come back to this place, though. I came here for lunch with coworkers and we didn't receive any attitude or a gratuity charge and had over 6 people. The service was mediocre. I then came in with my family..2 kids and wife..which is under the 6 people gratuity charge rule on menu.
