Thai Garden is located in the Foothill Plaza, at the corner of Portola Pkwy and Glenn Ranch Road, next to the Marriott Courtyard and Orange theory Fitness. It is a Thai oasis to enjoy Thai food in a relaxed surroundings. I discovered today that all entrees, fried rice/noodles are available as lunch specials, i.e. with free soup. The soup of the day today is Thai noodle soup. I could kick myself for not having it before for it is amazing. I would come back on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays for the Thai noodle soup if nothing else. I was thinking about drunken noodles earlier but ordered the spicy eggplant instead. I told my server I want it really really spicy but it was just mild. Thai Garden is a great place to enjoy good food, good service and good vibes.
It's been a while since we last dined here due to my very last order that we weren't happy with. We wanted Thai food but due to time constraints, we went to Thai Garden as it was the closest. The restaurant is still as nice and clean as when they first opened. One of the workers here, I forget his name, has been here for a very long time. He recognized my husband even after our long absence. That was actually cool to be remembered. He was his usual friendly self. Our server and other team members were very attentive throughout our dining experience. What we ordered this time: 1) Pad-see-ew with tofu - we always have to order this with extra noodles because they don't give you very much in comparison to other restaurants. They're more generous with the protein and veggies. The noodles were delicious, however, I wish they wouldn't charge an extra $8.00 for the extra noodles. As you can see in my photo, it doesn't look like extra noodles. It just looks like the portion other restaurants give without the extra fee. 2) Panang curry with pork - the sauce was amazing as usual but the pork was a bit on the dry side 3) crying tiger - delicious and tender as always 4) Larb - I didn't order it this time but this is a go-to here. 5) papaya salad - another dish I didn't order this time around but is a must-have for me. Overall it's more like a 3.5 out of 5 for me due to the dry pork and the fee for extra noodles, but since I can't do 1/2 points, let's just do a 4. Service is really good, staff attentive, and flavors are absolutely delicious. Would I return? Yes, yes I would if I couldn't get to my favorite place in RSM.
Thai Garden is a quaint restaurant in Foothill Ranch that is a bit of a treasure. Not fancy, but simple and clean. We visited with our soccer family at the request of my son to have Thai food. I personally look at not only the ratings but the pics of the food in order to determine if we should go to a place - this had some good pictures that looked enticing. But after eating there, the original pics did not do this place justice. We ordered the shrimp and veggie spring rolls, bamboo shoots veggie dish, beef satay, chicken pad Thai, and a pad see ew. That was last night - it's morning and I'm still thinking about the yummy flavors in my mouth! The spring rolls were good - well wrapped and filled with a perfectly made peanut sauce to dip it in. The bamboo shoots dish came with a plethora of vegetables and was mildly to moderately spicy in a good way. My favorites were definitely the beef satay which was cool to perfection and the pad Thai - very well done - and I've been eating at different Thai places since I was a teenager! The noodles were on point with the texture, the flavor was saturated throughout every bite, so yummy! I did not try the pad see ew but it looked really good. Love the quantity given and the high quality of the food. Our meals fed three very hungry JV soccer players and four famished parents. Our waitress/server was very attentive, friendly, and smiling with a welcoming air that made us feel like we were eating at her home. Loved it and we are definitely returning! Thanks Thai Garden!

Ordered takeout from Thai Garden! We ordered: - Thai noodle soup with chicken - beef pad Thai - beef pineapple fried rice Would definitely order the soup and pad see ew again! The two were very tasty. The soup was pretty flavorful on its own, probably won't add a protein next time I get it. Looking forward to trying other items on their menu!
Off the beaten path but well worth the drive!!! This is the ultimate in Thai marinated Beef! Flavorful, Tender! Delicious! What can I say, it is Culinary Perfection!!! The salads Peanut Dressing is amazing and the soup was so savory and delish!!! It is an OC hidden gem in the Foothills!!!
Spur of the moment dinner adventure. Great place to eat. Staff is friendly, detailed and didn't rush us even though we showed up 40 minutes before close time. We ordered the Yellow Curry (vegan) and Pad See-Ew (also vegan) with white rice. The food wad really delicious and fresh. Super flavourful and just slighty spicy, which I prefer. The restaurant is on the smaller side, very clean and nice decor. We will definitely be coming back.
This is our fave local Thai spot. The service is great, food is yummy and most items can be tailored to meet my allergy needs. We eat here all the time.

I enjoy the food every time! My husband introduced me to this restaurant and we usually order takeout out for lunch. Crying tiger and pad Thai are our go-to lunches. The portions are good and the food is fresh and hot! I highly recommend this food! read more
We've been here twice now. And every time the dishes comes out hot, plentiful, and delicious. Drunken Noodles are one of our faves. Spicy Basil Fried rice has a kick to it too. Other must haves are Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. For the non spicy eaters. The lemon chicken surprised us and was super delicious. Meat was moist and crispy on the outside. read more

So here's an interesting tidbit. I'm actually surprised that y'all didn't allow me to update my prior view from 13 years ago. Yep it's been that long. 13 years ago I had a office here locally that I would visit occasionally and Thai garden was around and Kickin. Back in those days my favorite dish was the crying tiger, will guess what? It's still here and they still serve Crying Thaiger and it's still just as great as it was back then I got a real kick out of having that conversation with the waitress who was obviously a long time employee or owner. I don't know how you cannot give kudos to a restaurant that has survived that long in this area and has maintain their signature dish over that period of time. So if you want my opinion, do yourself a favor and stop in. read more

Been coming here for years ... and decided to come here for Valentine's Day because I knew the food would be great and they wouldn't jack up the prices just because it was Valentine's Day. Hands down the best Crying Tiger in all of OC !! read more

this is a solid place for dinner located in a busy plaza. personally it wasn't my cup of tea. as i entered it was clear that this place was getting slammed. multiple to-go tickets were neatly arranged in the front and i was impressed by how the staff handled the rush of to-go and dine-in customers. i ordered a chicken pad thai at a level 10/10 spice and was told that my order would be ready in 15 minutes. i was excited for this meal, but the pad thai ultimately felt like it was missing something. it was savory and tangy, but it was nowhere near what i was expecting for a level 10. i have a feeling that this place caters to an audience with a much blander palate and ultimately watered down the spice that thai food could truly offer. i wanted a true thai 10/10 that didn't hold back. in addition, the carrots were undercooked compared to the rest of the veggies, and they were quite large. i think i would have enjoyed the crunch more had the carrots been a little smaller. this is my personal take on the dish. it wasn't the pad thai i was looking for, but it definitely could be someone else's. the portion was generous and there was a lot of meat! there's clearly a lot of love that goes into this place and the food is still flavorful despite lacking the spice i was hoping to get. service and interior was nice and i can definitely see why it's so popular. read more
The best thing is their Crying Tiger with Grilled Shrimp everything else of passable to overtly salty. We came in as a group of 8 for dinner. At the outside of the restaurant, it smelled a bit off like a wet mop but I chalked it up to be something in the environment-however some of the girls in the party told me that it smelled like bleach and it was in unbearable which really affected their enjoyment of the meal. I only really noticed it around the end. I assumed that it was close to their end of service and the staff was cleaning up. Suggestion to the management is to wait until all guests leave before use of strong chemicals to clean. For feedback: The Crying Tiger with Grill pawn (5/5)was the best thing and I would recommend it. The meat was juicy and suckling. The shrimp had a fresh taste with a grill smoke to it. The stir fried veggies were delightful. The Yellow Curry (2/5) was too salty and the meat was dried. There was plenty left and no one wanted to take it home. Stir fried rice and the Pad Thai were ok to a bit mushy and lack impact (3/5) Their cut cucumbers were (5/5)! read more
We've been to this place several times, and it's such a convenient place for us to get Thai food, but although few of the items we've tried were great, most weren't good at all. I remember ordering from them during a special event, where one of our guests requested TOM YUM SOUP. So, I ordered it here, and our guest said it didn't taste as good as the Tom Yum Soup she's had at other places. I tried it myself, and she was so right. Their version had hints of sweetness. I prefer the super sour and spicy version, and so did our guest. We've also tried their PAD THAI for to-go, and it came out so dry. Not only that, but it also wasn't tasty either. They garnished it with slices of tofu that didn't go well with the Pad Thai noodles. Their DRUNKEN NOODLES was decent, but the veggies, noodles, and meat ratio was totally off, where it had way too many veggies and not enough meat and noodles. The only one I keep coming back for and probably the only one I recommend getting here is their CRYING TIGER. They give a generous amount of beef that's freshly grilled at a decent quality, but the one thing that makes it so delicious is their dipping sauce. They make the perfect blend of dipping sauce for the grilled beef. It's tangy, spicy, with hints of sweetness. I come here just to order the dipping sauce itself. I grill the beef at home and use their dipping sauce, and for a large container, it cost ~$9, which lasts after several use. My son loves Thai curry dishes, so we've tried their YELLOW CURRY with CHICKEN, and it was good. However, they were so stingy on their chicken portion. For the price they charge, it's not worth it. I'd rather drive farther and save at least $5 per dish. The service here is always friendly and cordial. The same lady that works here who helps me each time is so nice and polite. I truly appreciate her pleasant attitude. The ambiance is nicer than your typical Thai restaurant. It's casual but a bit classy, but certainly not upscale. Overall, this place offers a few good Thai dishes. We come for their Crying Tiger and the dipping sauce, but that's about it. read more

I ordered the cashew chicken. The salad was also very soggy after sitting in the container with the hot chicken and rice. I got the lunch special. I ordered a Thai tea as well. Wasn't bad, but I didn't finish it. Total was around $20. read more

Wow! This place is delicious! The best Thai place in Orange County! We ordered it to go the first time but the second time, we ate inside, at a booth and it was clean with good lighting. There are a lot of tables/booths, a wine bar with sports on the tv (for some reason haha) and the employees are all very nice. After we ordered, the restaurant was full at every table and booth with people even eating at the wine bar. There were a lot of people waiting in line to eat there! We tried a bunch of veggie options and they were all excellent. The food came out pretty fast for it being full! Each dish came out as it was done which I like. Spring rolls with tofu & pb dipping sauce 5/5 Penang curry with tofu 5/5 Papaya salad 5/5 We will be back soon. We highly recommend! read more

A nice little Thai restaurant in the corporate plaza of foothill ranch. The place is very clean and much bigger than it seems from the outside. Everyone working inside is very nice and they are on top of it when it comes to getting orders on time. I had started with the Tom Kha soup which is not listed as Tom Kha but they have it listed as something else. The difference is that it's slightly creamier with the coconut milk added to it. The soup was alright but it did have a lot of veggies and tofu that I had requested. For the main course I got the spicy basil eggplant with tofu and the crying tiger. They were both delicious specially the crying tiger. The meat was delicious and tender and cooked to perfection. I had added an order of rice with it but it is simply served over a bed of rice. From the ambiance, service to the food you wouldn't expect such a place in a quiet little corporate corner. read more

Food was ok . Nothing special to write much about . Just about what you would expect at any regular Thai restaurant . Restaurant was v busy and only 2 people managing orders and serving . Efficiency was lacking . Overall - not bad. read more

This is just for their food. I haven't been inside or dined there yet. This is located inside a small strip mall off of Portola Parkway and Glen Ranch Road. There's only about 5 businesses, including this Thai Garden. I think the others are Starbucks, Wahoo's Fish Taco, Urban Grill and Wine Bar, and Round Table Pizza. My BIL ordered online and picked up: a large tom yum soup ($21.95), pad see-ew ($14.95), pineapple fried rice ($14.95), garden delight ($14.95), pa-nang curry ($14.95), lime salad with beef ($12.95 + $3.00), and some rice ($1.95). Everything was surprisingly good! I like Thai food, but it's not high on my list; it's something I'd rather eat once in a while, especially because I hate cilantro...but I wouldn't mind eating it more frequently if it came from here. My favorite dish, pineapple fried rice, didn't have a lot of pineapple chunks, but had a fair amount of shrimp and meat, and the rice was nice and moist. The pad see-ew was a bit sweet, but still good. The beef in the salad was seasoned nicely and tasty. If anything, a lot of their dishes tasted similar. Like the pad see-ew and the garden delight had close flavors. I think the beef used in the salad is the the same beef they use for some of the other dishes. I understand that that's probably more cost-effective as well as easier and faster to prepare separate dishes. Perhaps if we ordered a different noodle dish, like pad Thai, it would've changed it up a bit. Either way, my kids who are not big Thai food fans, each had a favorite dish they were hogging up (one hogged the pineapple fried rice, and the other the pa-nang curry), so that says a lot. read more

Great food all around. I had the chicken fried rice and it was delicious. My coworker had drunken noodles and he loved it too. I like how they put lemons in the iced tap water. At lunch the place was packed and the 2 servers were extremely busy. I'll be back. read more

Huge ishhh portions! Flavor? Very nice! Inside? Uninspiring. Service? Leaves a lot to be desired. Pricing? Ehhh it depends.. The portion sizes are very very big, the picture of the chicken is after I had already dug in! There's a good amount of food easily enough to share between two people or three even not too hungry people the food came out very hot hot. Almost burn my mouth. That's a good thing though. The inside is an average Thai food place nice, clean, some Pop music? Fair amount of seating, inside and outside trying to be classy but overall average inside not bad. Good place to eat for a quick lunch maybe not so much for a date, at least a fancy date. I went for lunch during work. Service was OK. Not really much else to say about that except it was OK they didn't greet me, but I don't really mind that they didn't really recommend anything, but I didn't really mind that they didn't provide me service service but that's OK, I didn't expect it and that's fine because it's fast casual food :-) What I recommend this place, yes, yes I would. The food is good. The portion sizes are even better and the ambience is OK. The service is OK. Meaning that this place in my book is OK. Thumbs up. read more

First time for Thai on our own. Had the Thai Rolls (like a spring roll) and the green sauce was a touch spicy and the peanut sauce was great. Both good flavor and the rolls were fresh . We also did combo PadThai.. delicious. Thai Beer is also good. Great service and clean place. We will go back again and try more items on the menu. read more
