On a brisk and warm sunny Wednesday afternoon, my daughter and I went to one of her favorite restaurants. Thai Garden. After enjoying such a beautiful drive there, upon entering we met with the most gracious host. After being seated and introduced to our server Ms. Ket, both of us ordered the Crying Tiger because I kept hearing about it. Well. Char-broiled beef, which you can tell that it has been marinating with all of its spices and on the side spicy lime dipping sauce which I forgot at first because it tasted so Mary Poppins tip toeing through the tulips good. Oh my. The meat was so tender and juicy and the rice and salad topped it off. Absolutely wonderful. I sipped on jasmine tea and Teria had the Thai iced tea. The jasmine tea had a lightly delicate floral flavor, which was quite tasty. Yes, I know I'm back the next week on Tuesday evening with the rest of the gang since this is one of their favorite restaurants as well. Grandson Demetric, granddaughters Skye, Cherokee and great granddaughter Jet. So, sue me. You know I ordered the Crying Tiger with a doubt, as well as Cherokee and Demetric. This time Teria had the Garlic Lover and Skye, Yellow Curry with chicken. The Garlic Lover was yummy, stir-fried dish with garlic sauce on a bed of cabbage and broccoli. The thai rice was also an extra good dish with onions, carrots, celery, zucchini and pineapple with a sweet and sour sauce. Now can we speak on the yellow curry with chicken, carrots and potatoes seasoned with yellow curry, so smooth, creamy and so goody good good! Date night with the hubby and wanted Thai...we're new to the Lake Forest area and needed to find some new dinner spots close by. This restaurant is on the corner of the center by the Marriott. The ambiance is very nice and clean. We started out with ordering the egg rolls for appetizer, which were pretty good, especially the sauce that comes with it. We ordered the Pad Thai noodles and Crying Tiger beef for dinner. Yumm that beef with the lime sauce is fantastic and you can change the heat level from 1 to10,we had the 3 & 4 and it was delicious with the perfect amount of heat. I couldn't imagine getting something even close to 10? That would be hot hot hot! The service was excellent and we had a great time. Wow! So surprised at the quality of service and food here at Thai Garden! We just finished our run, and were in the foothill area and were craving Thai. Thai Garden immediately popped up on my search radar. We came on a Saturday around 12pm. We were greeted and seated right away. No complaints about service. He was very attentive and got our drinks right away. I was pleasantly surprised at how big the Thai Teas were. Usually I get them in a small, plastic cup, but there they come in a large glass! YASSSSSS We ordered two orders of the lemon chicken and Pad See Yoo chicken. I was so happy with the quality of the food. It came out hott and fresh. The lemon chicken was closest resemblance to orange chicken, it was crispy and delicious. The Pad See was SOOO GOOOD. The veggies in it were cooked perfectly, not too raw. This was our third attempt at finding at great Thai Restaurant in our area and I think Thai Garden did it for us! We will definitely be returning, we loved the food and service. We happened to be in the area looking at some new homes.....and judging from the heavy weekday crowd at this restaurant, most of the diners here are from business in the surrounding area. My girlfriend and I had already tried most of the other restaurants on this small commercial strip.....all except this place, which I didn't even know was here till my girlfriend suggested we try it out. In fact, when we pulled up by looking for a parking spot, we thought the place was closed as the windows are all blacked out (by sun shades)......but we went ahead and took a peek through the front doors, and noticed the place was already pretty busy. Ok, pretty nice, casual, clean, and simply decorated Thai restaurant.....with a bar where you can sit and have your lunch too if all the tables are taken. We were promptly greeted upon entry and led to a booth. Service seemed pretty nice and friendly too.....although a bit rushed and not always the most attentive due to the busy lunch crowd. Checking out the menu, we decided to try the lunch specials.....Crazy Cashew with Chicken (basically a stir fry) and the Green Curry with Chicken (spicy heat level 3, on a scale choice of 1-10)..... both come with a bowl of ginger rice soup, a side of rice, and fresh salad with a satay peanut sauce dressing. Just for fun...to try, we decided to order a Pad See Ew (flat rice noodles) with Chicken. I must say, I enjoy Thai food, but didn't expect the food to be this good, being out of the way and all...... especially the ginger rice soup which had my favorite congee consistency and ginger flavor. Everything else we ordered was also quite good....very good flavors, medium spiciness, using fresh ingredients, made fresh and hot, with good sized portions......and the best part?.....I think we got our food in less than 5-7 minutes!...now that's efficiency! I ordered takeout from this restaurant. I was trying to call in and order takeout but the phone was always busy. I had to walk to the restaurant and ordered takeout instead. Surprisingly, the food came out really quickly. I asked one of the servers if I should order pad Thai or pad se ew. He recommended pad se ew, so I ordered it. The portion was big. The pad se ew was the big flat rice noodles with eggs and veggies such as zucchini, carrots and broccolis. I added chicken to the dish. The dish tasted okay. I could taste the restaurant added MSG to the dish, so the food tasted better. The price was $15.96 USD including tip. The customer service was great. If you want Asian food in this neighbourhood, you should visit this restaurant. However, I felt this Tai food was for western people like the Chinese chop suey dish. I ordered the thai chow mein with tofu. The lady taking my order was very sweet and helpful. I ordered take out and the food was ready in no time, however when I got home to eat the food the tofu was overcooked and charcoiled, I called the restaurant to let them know. They did ask me if i wanted something else tonight. I didn't want to drive 30 minutes to replace the food. All in all, I would say the food is ok. I don't think I will be back. read more

Back in April, I stopped in to order some food to go. A pleasant young lady greeted me and took my order. Not very long after, my food came, and I paid. The food was delicious, plentiful and piping hot. I carried it over to our nearby hotel where we were staying. while we were eating, the front desk called to tell me that I had left my wallet at the restaurant, and that someone from Thai Garden had walked it over. I was stunned! I retrieved my wallet and everything was in order. I was so grateful for the kind and honest people at Thai Garden. This review is strictly for the value on what you get. I used to come here for lunch a lot when I worked close by and the crying tiger is FANTASTIC and the only reason I drove from Irvine to get it. I called in tonight and put a order for takeout for dinner. The lady after I ordered curry asked if I wanted rice as she said it doesn't come with any. I said no because I had some at home and thought crying tiger would come with it, but it didn't. Crying tiger- still an amazing dish. Comes with generous portion of beef with no rice though, but the green sauce on the side it comes with is eveything. Cost is about $22 Tom yum coconut soup- this soup was delicious, creamy rich broth but not too rich. Shrimp was great compliment with it as I don't like this dish with chicken too much. Cost was a STEEP for the 6 pieces of shrimp and soup $25 Yellow curry chicken- great broth and overall great flavor profile with subtle spiciness to it. $13 2 crying tigers, chicken curry and coconut soup cost $90 and I went and picked it up not delivery of any kind. Overall the meal was great. I understand inflation and costs of goods but still I believe this meal price was a little more than I believe the value you get for that price. But what really ticks me off is that after spending $90 on this entire meal we didn't get ONE side of rice. Imagine spending this type of money on this meal and not even it being a complete meal. It would've cost them 50 cents in cost to get a returning customer, but I definitely won't be back. Absolutely ridiculous read more

The chicken green curry was alright. It needed veggies other than bamboo shoots, but the sauce was delicious. I think ordering pickup from here from around 6:30 overwhelms then a bit, because the order of teriyaki chicken had issues with the sauce not sticking to the food and their estimated was short 10 minutes.
