A6. Crab Rangoon
Kesha B.

We came in on a weekday evening, and they are incredibly short staff. The owner was answering phones for carry out orders, waiting tables, bussing tables and on occasion we saw her on the line cooking too keep up with carry out orders. When we walked in the restaurant had just been hit with a rush and every single table had dirty dishes on it. The owner was giving people their carry out orders, while the phones were ringing nonstop with carry out orders. Once we were seated, we ordered and received our food pretty quickly. We started with something quick while we looked through the menu and had the crab rangoons. They were filled to the brim with filling and were decent. I had a Thai iced tea as my beverage and combination pad Thai. The pad Thai was sweeter than I'm used to but the flavors were still delicious.

Asked for it extra extra spicy and they delivered! Very authentic and so much flavor packed into one bowl. I can't speak on the ambiance or the service but if you want an EXTREMELY tasty meal then go here and honestly who gives a shit about the rest. If the food is good go there, they aren't expensive by any means and the portion sizes are very good. Also got the egg rolls and my 6 year old, who is the pickiest eater ever, mowed down 3 of them in no time. I definitely would say this is one of the best Thai places around and I will definitely be ordering from here again!!

Got the pad Thai lunch special. Tofu and a side of crab rangoons. Really tasty pad Thai, very flavorful. Would go back!

Got food to go so my interactions with the staff was limited but it was straight to the point. I ordered pad see iew, spring rolls, and mango sticky rice. The pad see iew was really good and i liked how there was a lot of options to customize it to your taste. The spring rolls were not what I was expecting because I didnt look too closely at the description and photo so I was expecting it to be like the ones that come with peanut sauce. I personally would not order that again because I wasn't a huge fan of the texture but the plum sauce was good. The mango sticky rice was really tasty and i wish i got more

Chicken satay (order is 4 pieces)

What an amazing Thai joint hiding out on Dundee rd! I didnt have high hopes.... we xame here because our first choice was too busy. However, we were blown away by an excellent Thai meal. Chicken satay was moist and tender with a yummy sauce. Basil chicken was interesting with ground chicken but most importantly the basil flavor was strong and delicious. Green curry was so good i almost wanted it over my basil chicken. We will be back and often! Bonus points for the pretty interior

Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice

Food was absolutely amazing and service was incredible. I can't wait to come back. In inside was cool! Idk why people are hating on it.

C8 Soldier in Red Sea

Amazing food and service! My husband had the bbq pork fried rice and I had the seafood curry (Red Sea) the Thai iced coffee and mango rice for dessert was amazing as well! Will definitely be coming back.

We tried a bit of everything: #21 Bún Lemongrass Pork & Egg Roll: Huge portion and incredibly tasty. #42 Combo Meat Pho: Packed with beef slices, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs. The broth was excellent. #30 Fried Salt & Pepper Calamari: Great flavor, though the portion of calamari was a bit small. #31 Fried Salt & Pepper Shrimp: We got them with the shell on, which was definitely the right move! #58 Bún Bò Huế: A spicy lemongrass and shrimp broth with thick vermicelli, brisket, tendon, and pork roll. It was a unique change of pace from our usual pho order, but really good! I would definitely be back to try other menu items! The staff were quick and helpful!

Had a hankering for Vietnamese food and went to this restaurant kind of hidden in a strip mall…read more The space is great high ceilings made the space seem exceptionally large, though I think they could have turned up the music a bit as I thought my kids were boisterous in such a cavernous space. Each table has self serve rooster sauce and hoisin sauce with soup spoons, chopsticks, forks and metal spoons. The caddy was quite large and tall so we had it removed after setting everyone up. We ordered quite a few dishes and repeated a few. #42 was the pho of choice with everything added in. I personally had the bun lemongrass pork with egg roll. Everyone at the table remarked how full the bowl was when the food came out. It's a delightful noodle salad, super flavorful with the fish sauce added and the salad mixed up. Very filling, and actually a good dish to share as a salad. It has variety of texture with peanuts, egg roll crunch, the noodles, the pickled veggies, the umami of.thr fish sauce a wonderful dish that signals in summer. We ordered salt n pepper shrimp and squid as an appetizer for the table since we were quite hungry when we landed. The two were really different from each other. Both great taste, but the onions shined thru with a bomb of flavor, wonderful when mixed in with the rice. The shrimp had heads slightly trimmed, we ate them crispy head and all. I had a taste of the bun bo hue, which I think is always overlooked when it's the last item on the "pho" section of the menu. It should be a highlight, very different than standard pho, the noodles are rounder, the broth more savory and had a bit of unexpected mild heat (I think usually I don't expect heat, but this good). A great contrast from the pho noodles. I've been to the libertyville location before, and had good memories. This one is a good one as well, the staff was always around and I liked how the high ceilings and the feeling of spaciousness. I will definitely give it another round. In a world where most all places are cashless, Viet Taste keeps the pricing reasonable with being Cash only, they do have an atm on site as well. We fortunately had enough cash amongst us for this food adventure.

Got some pretty great Thai food from this restaurant in Hoffman Estates. It may be yet another one…read moreof those restaurants in a strip mall but it's actually good to be honest. Jaded Thai is one of the many such Asian restaurants in this same area which is just kind of weird. For sure makes it hard to choose. They have the classics along with some more interesting looking selections. Coming at lunch it actually wasn't that busy. It's not exactly a good sign. Thankfully it turned out to be mostly great thankfully. Has a lot of the familiar items. There's all the usual things like Pad Thai. It's about $11 for a lunch entree. This is weekdays. A great way to get a value out of it. I got the Pad Woon Sen. A pretty typical looking one. This is stir fried bean thread noodles with broccoli, cabbage, carrots, eggs, and pea pods. Got it vegan without eggs. There was a light spiciness but pretty mild to be honest. Has a lot of the usual things as far as Thai food goes. It's now open daily even Sundays. There's great choices for vegans and vegetarians.

The pad see ew was cooked perfectly. The broccoli and chicken were awesome. The noodles weren't too hard or soft. Good flavor. Thai iced tea was 10/10. Perfect ice to drinks ratio. The service was great. She was super nice and very attentive. The inside was very cute. Authentic place! All three items were $30 and you get super full from it too. Do try!

To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. Just a FYI, the portions are very generous. For 2 people, I would recommend ordering 2 dishes. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A pot of tea is $6. -lor bak 5 - I highly recommend this appetizer. It has crispy pork sausage with shrimp fritters, beancurd, and cucumber. It comes with two sauces. Everything was delicious. -nasi lemak 5 - I love the chicken rendang. The meat is very tender and it has a deep flavor. You can taste the spices that went into it. -Hainanese chicken rice 3.5 - I gave Penang Malaysian Cuisine a 4 because the rice was delicious. HD's version, the rice was not as moist and flavorful. The chicken was not bad, it's about the same as Penang's. It could be a bit more succulent without the sauces. -hokkien mee 4 - this won't be as tasty as in Malaysia. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.
