10 years since my original review and I still love this place. I've tried various others around town (also likable) but Thai Jing is still the best. Nice and quiet spot tucked away on a busy road. I got the drunken noodles to go and it was piping hot when I brought it home. The flavor was good and it was generous on veggies and eggs and chicken. Good local place for Thai food. Typically order the yellow curry dish but everything we've had has been good. Also one of the few Thai restaurants open on Sunday evenings. Even if you order ahead prepare to wait a bit as they are always very busy with the delivery services picking up orders. read more

I ordered spring rolls for my 87 yr old mother. They delivered something completely different. They said they would bring them to her but then hung up on me and did not give me what I ordered. This place is horrible service and the Thai food is not good at all. I RECOMMEND NEVER GOING TO THEM. There are many other Thai restaurants that actually respect their customers. Not this one. Thai Jing has some of the best Thai food in Greenville. We find a nice variety of all our favorite classic Thai dishes here, all freshly prepared and full of flavor. The interior setting is pretty, although not very well populated, as most other patrons seem to either pick up for carryout or just order through a delivery service. One particular menu item that I'll compliment specifically is the chicken satay appetizer. While the portion is a little small, it at least seems to be fresh chicken, which not all other Thai restaurants around town can say. The accompanying peanut sauce and pickle garnish are also nice. If you do dine in, feel free to BYO, and there is no corkage fee. Service can be a bit slow, as Thai Jing seems to operate on a very limited staff. Even so, I'm always reassured by the chopping I hear coming from the kitchen, that means, "fresh food being prepared." The interior is nicely decorated, but the Thai decor is a little at odds with the TVs on showing the popular game(s) of the day. I ordered the pad Thai through grub hub and it showed up a bit late but that blame can't be placed entirely on the restaurant I suppose. But when I got the bag with the food, there were no cutlerys or sauce or anything at all. I'm on travel and in a hotel and I had to find a way to find a fork which isn't exactly ideal given the situation. As for the food, sub par. The noodles and beef had a raw smell to it. What a disappointment. I placed an order for delivery. First, I sincerely hope they gave me the wrong size Tom Kha Kai Soup Dinner for $14 because what arrived was a pint container worth. What a giant ripoff. It didn't have much flavor and the shrimp was overcooked. I also ordered the pad see ew with beef. I requested this to be hot. Not only was this dish bland but it was barely mild in spiciness. Not a single chili in sight. The flat noodles were mush and chopped up in little pieces. That's honestly just carelessness and should never happen. Under seasoned, lacking depth and flavor, I had to add my own chili flakes, chili oil, vinegar and fish sauce just to get any enjoyment from it. There were also some random, whole, undercooked baby carrots thrown in which confused me because carrot isn't something found in pad see ew. Portion is also small for the price. I have been eating Thai Food for 25 years from many different places during that time and this has been found severely lacking. A side note would be that the meal was left on my porch without a knock, call, or doorbell push even though I opted out of contactless delivery. We went here for a late lunch. It is tucked away in a strip mall off of East North Street, but don't let the digs foo you. We had the Tom Kra soup with chicken in the full pot serving. Plenty for us to split between 2 people and maybe a third. We also split the pineapple curry, again with chicken and it was plenty to date both of us. Everything else spelled great and the service was good. The waiter( seems like a husband and wife team) was very contentious and was sure to help us with the spice level of the food. I don't know how long it sat there because according to the website I should have either received a text or call letting me know that it had been delivered. I got neither. This was the first restaurant we tried when we moved to Greenville (due to proximity of where we live). While we usually order to-go, we've never had a bad experience. Food is always great, huge portions, and the owners are super nice and chill. We have picky eaters at home and they are always accommodating, spice level included (1-5). Our favorites are the pineapple fried rice, any curry, and the pad thai. But safe to assume that anything you order here will be fresh and excellent. We've ordered form here before and it's usually good but this time it was NOT. My medium-spicy Drunken Noodle wasn't spicy at all (I Ordered hot-spicy before and it was too much so idk what to do) and all the noodles were melted together. My boyfriend got the Thai Boat Noodle (also Medium spicy) and it was dry noodles and broccoli and a broth that was super watery and just not flavorful. I have a bad cold and wanted something hot and spicy to clear my head. The food arrived on time at my hotel however, no plastic where or napkins. Guess they need to be asked to send these items given I am staying in a hotel........ food wasn't spicy as asked and wow, 2 pieces of shrimp. We were craving some Thai food and this happens to be the only one open because we ate a late lunch. Overall, the food is not bad. The pad Thai has a very unique flavor that is different from most other places I've had. I believe it has pineapple in it that gives it that flavor? I'm not saying it's different in a bad way, but I've had better pad Thai before. We also got the pad kee mao and the flavor was only alright. I felt like it was kind of bland other than the strong basil taste, which I found to be pleasant. For me, the noodles still had the flour-y flavor that you get when the noodles haven't had enough time to soak in the sauce. That alone really killed it for me.
