The beef salad was hard to chew and tasteless, Pad Thai was way too salty, massaman curry did not taste like massaman curry at all, papaya salad had no flavor... four dishes cost $65, and we left there still hungry...It was so bad, we had to stop by McDonald's next door to get a descent meal, LOL. This is my second time in St. Louis and my husband wanted to try a Thai restaurant. I wish we'd gone somplace else so he could see (and taste) what it is supposed to be like. This is not to say I didn't like my food. On a positive note, what he ordered (eggplant with pork (S6)) was delicious. They give ample portions of rice. The room has lots of seating, looks clean, and the staff is really attentive. What I did not expect was our Spring rolls (normally made with thin rice paper) being rolled with the bread used for wrap sandwiches. See photo. And the chicken satay looked fried. The portion was large, but the chicken pieces had a char on it used in Chinese dishes. The Panang Curry was loaded with large slices of green pepper and the sauce was thin. I had lunch here yesterday, hoping for something special. Nope. I tried the red curry with rice. The sauce was delicious and the rice was cooked perfectly, but the chicken was your basic pounded pieces variety as you would get at an American Chinese place. Ordered Thai Kitchen for delivery (via GrubHub) while visiting family in the area. Solid food. Delivery was prompt and took exactly the amount of time we were quoted. Some of the dishes seemed a little expensive - even compared to Chicago prices, but you do get huge portions. Wow, I thought by the reviews this would be a great place to order from. Crab Rangoon was flavorless, soggy and no crab. Pad Thai was flavorless, with very little beef, I mean like 5 peace's, not spicy at all even though I requested extra spicy. One plastic fork, no napkins, no sauces except watery sweet and sour for the soggy crab Rangoon's. Was really excited for this and was very disappointed. The service is so awful & rude here. The food is good, but after this experience, there are other Thai places that I like just as much who treat the customers way better. I work at a large company in the area, and we frequent Thai Kitchen a lot...but no more. Back story Several months ago, I purchased a Groupon for Thai Kitchen that had no listed restrictions on it. My coworkers & I eat there often, so if I can get a few bucks off of it, I will. A few days after purchasing the groupon, I received an email from Groupon explaining there had been an issue in the printing of the Groupon and that it should've said 'dinner only, not valid for lunch..." BUT that this change did not apply to me, that Thai Kitchen knows what happened and I could use my groupon as planned. Fat chance of that. Today, 2 of my coworkers and I went in for lunch. I had the email from groupon up to show them. I explained it to the waitress. She questioned her manager/owner (?) and he came over and SO RUDELY said, "no, no groupon. No i don't want to see your email. You can't use it." We left and went to MOD Pizza instead. I have no use for that kind of treatment/customer service. You just lost business from at least 3 people who come in regularly and order for our teams at work REGULARLY...and who will talk about this service to our other coworkers who are also regular customers. He made that choice to not serve his customers over $8.50. He just lost more money in business from us than the $8.50 would've cost him. It is not my problem, as his customer, that he & Groupon had a miscommunication. The thing is, I don't LIVE in this area. So I would've never agreed to purchase a "dinner only" groupon here. It only works for me for lunch options. so good job, Thai Kitchen. From now on, I will encourage my team to go to Addies Thai (excellent - check them out) for their thai craving... or we'll drive to Pearl Cafe in Florissant (excellent- check them out) I will never go to Thai Kitchen again when it's SOOO clear that they don't actually care about customers. Thai beef jerky: good. 2. Crispy rolls - good. 3. Tom Yum noodle soup : it was alright, it does not taste like Tom yum at all! It taste rather like Chinese noodle soup. Very big bowl. 4. Sweet and sour chicken: NOT good at all - the chicken are not breaded kind, the artificial pink sauce is running! This dish is negative. 5. Thai tea- not even close - taste more like the instant Thai tea. The price kind of high compare to it quality and taste. I m not sure if this Thai restaurant had been sold to the Chinese owner, because all of the dishes we ordered look and taste more like Americanized Chinese food. We've been going to Thai Kitchen 3 years now. Consistent and delicious. Service is pretty much as expected but always accommodating. We've ventured through most of the menu and we've enjoyed pretty much everything. The spicy catfish dinner w curry and eggplant is a hidden gem. I call to place an order, after the order was placed the restaurant charges an automatic tip and then argues with me saying it's my "bank" that holds an automatic 20% when I clearly see it was submitted as 2 separate charges. Instead of listening to what I was saying, the gentleman on the phone becomes defensive and then argues with me about what kind of credit card I was using!!! Instead of explaining, he says..."do you want a refund?""" As I've said before, I'm done with bad customer service!!! This place is pretty solid for Thai food if you live outside of the city and don't feel like making the drive. Decided to come here one night prior to trivia-night at Syberg's down the road because--let's be honest here--after going to Syberg's for about 2-something years now for trivia, I am getting a little sick of eating their greasy bar food every Tuesday night, lol. So hence a change of pace was desired, and Sean and went to Thai Kitchen mostly due to it's close proximity to trivia. It was about 7:00pm on a Tuesday night when we went...the place was fairly dead. They were training a new server that night, so he had to run over and grab an older lady who might have been the owner or related to the owner who was more knowledgeable. I was really craving spring rolls/fresh rolls or whatever they're usually called, but sadly they said theirs were pre-made and could not be adjusted....I hate tofu, and these had tofu in them so decided against ordering them. Bummer. Decided I didn't want to risk stomach-ache or pain the next day from spicy curry so I went with my old stand-by, the Pad Thai. (Don't laugh, Tracey W.!) Yep, I'm a self-proclaimed foodie who happens to be a lover of Pad Thai because it's the one dish that's fairly consistent across the board at many different Thai places, and it's almost never spicy (but they can make it that way if you ask!) I did have to ask them for some lime wedges which was the only thing the dish was lacking. For some reason fresh lime juice on Pad Thai = nirvana in my mouth. It came out steaming hot and delicious too! The only (weird) gripe I have is that they were BLASTING country music and we happened to be seated underneath the speaker thingy so it was a little annoying after a while. I don't mind country music...but when it's every single song and not interspersed with other genres, it can really grind my gears. That wouldn't deter me from returning, obviously! The food was great and so was the service. It came out FAST too! Oh and btw, Tracey W., I ate MY ENTIRE PAD THAI. What now?!! lol. This place definitely knows how to make some good Thai food! For starters, they have a couple appetizer dishes that are amazing. Though a bit pricey, their Chicken Satay as well as their "Crying Tiger" are must-tries. The Chicken Satay is lightly curried chicken on a skewer. It comes with some onions and an incredible peanut sauce that complements the flavor so well. If you go with a group, buy a plate and share! It comes with 5 skewers. The "Crying Tiger" is a beef dish that comes with lettuce that you can use to rap the beef in, as well as a tasty sauce to dip it in. If you love beef, you should start with this appetizer. Honestly, if you go alone, the appetizers here might be enough to fill you up for the meal. Go and try these appetizers! I'll update more about some of my favorite entrees from Thai Kitchen. My friend and I came here for dinner. She was craving something spicy and flavorful. We ordered A12, the crying tiger; N21, spicy jun noodle; and E10, Thai Rama. The crying tiger was amazing: perfectly cooked meat with tangy sweet and spicy dipping sauce. I devoured that. The spicy jun noodle was good. I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed the imitation crab in the noodles. The Thai Rama wasn't as good as I had hoped. It was a bit sweeter than I expected and there were too many carrots and the spinach was raw baby spinach that the sauce slowly cooked over the course of my meal. It tasted good and I ate a fair portion of it, but it wasn't my favorite. With that said, I have to admit I was being adventurous on purpose so not LOVING my food isn't a reflection on this place. The food is still very good even if I was secretly craving drunken noodles the entire time. Also, this place is in the same large area as the schnuck's. Went here for lunch upon the recommendation of a coworker, and boy am I glad I did! I wasn't sure what to order (the menu is pretty huge!) so I went with the crispy vegetable spring rolls and the chicken pad thai. I called in the order, and it was ready when I got there. Gotta love speedy service! The woman working the counter wasn't friendly AT ALL. No tip for youuuu! I tried the veggie spring rolls, and they were delish! They were tiny and cute, but there were 5 of them! The sweet dipping sauce that accompanied the rolls was tasty as well. When I ordered the chicken pad thai, I requested it to be very spicy, and Thai Kitchen definitely delivered! There was definitely a kick, but it wasn't overbearing. The flavors were definitely there underneath all of that spice! The best part about my meal? The size! The portions were HUGE, and I definitely have more than enough to eat for lunch tomorrow! It'd give it 4 stars, but it's sort of out of the way for us who live in the city. Their pad thai was flavorful, generously portioned and just tasted the way good pad thai should. Pay attention Rearn Thai and even Blue Elephant in Clayton---pad thai should be not be dry, tasteless and made with broken noodle bits and indiscernible pieces of gray meat. You won't get that at Thai Kitchen. We also had the Panang curry which again was the perfect balance of all those wonderful Thai flavors we're expecting when we go for Thai. YUM! Food: For St. Louis standards, the food here is good, if not, one of the best in the 'Lou but if you're from an area with a larger Thai population (a-hem, Chicago), this place is "a-ok" which is what I will have to give this place since I've experienced thai food bliss before. Their papaya salad is spicy and delish! I always end up getting their green curry chicken and it is fantastic. There are always a few parking spots available outside. Ambiance: The decor is a bit older and almost "pub-like" with a few booths. This is just a quick note about how nice the staff were to my lunch group today. We were asking if they made Thai Custard at this location which they did not. We ordered some fried bananas to celebrate one of our fellow co-workers, which afterwards, the waitress came out and asked if it was someone's birthday, we said yes, and in return we got a plate full of fried bananas and a fried coconut ice cream, all on the house! As we were served with the dessert the wait staff started singing Happy Birthday, and all of us joined in. It was a super cute and genuine moment from the staff. I initially loved this place due to two main reasons; it served delicious food and is very close to where I live. So needless to say when I saw that they started issuing Groupons, I was excited to get a good deal on some great Thai food! Well while the Groupon was a good deal in terms of money, in terms of customer service it was awful. It was as though the people who work at Thai Kitchen were annoyed anytime they saw a Groupon. Last time I checked issuing a Groupon was the restaurant's choice! Don't be short with me and provide sub-par service just because you are only earning 25% of your listed food prices. You are taking a cut in profits in return for advertising. If you don't want to take that cut, don't do Groupons. Another thing that has gotten on my nerves is that they charge a $1.50 split plate charge. Last time I was here I ordered an appetizer as my entrée and my boyfriend got a regular entrée. While we did eat off of each other's plates, I didn't think the split charge was warranted since we still both ordered something. My appetizer even cost more than most of the entrees! I guess ever since Thai Kitchen has started issuing Groupons, it seems as though they are trying to nickel and dime you for each little thing, while also providing shitty customer service. Groupon is supposed to help you get customers, but in this case it made Thai Kitchen lose two frequent customers. The best Thai food in St. Charles and Maryland Heights. Good prices, consistent results, and speedy service. The ingredients are fresh and snappy, and the spicy really is. Thai food is characterized by tart-sweet combinations, along with the mellow smoothness of coconut milk and peanuts. Thai Kitchen nails all these flavors. I am never bored when I eat there. I've been eating at Thai Kitchen for years, and the only "bad" meal I can recall was a time once when a friend ordered a spicy dish, the waitress warned him it was spicy, and he ordered it anyway. He made it through three bites before having to give up -- my pepperhead buddy had been defeated by the Thai sukiyaki. If I have one criticism, it's that Thai Kitchen can be a little TOO sweet. But if you love Thai food, and you can't easily get to downtown (like me), you should check it out. It's very satisfying. read more

Based on someone's review, I ordered the crying tiger app. SO GOOD. Seasoned beef that was tender and delicious...the sauce had ginger in it which i could die if i ate so i stayed away. But i'm sure if you like ginger, you'd enjoy. I also got the shrimp flat noodles something or other. Good but probably more than I needed. The real star of the meal was the Thai Hot and Sour soup. Now, if you're looking for good chinese hot and sour soup in St. Louis, just stop. I have tried and they're all wretched. However, this soup was brothy with a lemongrass base and shrimp. SO GOOD. Every now and then you come across a restaurant that just blows your expectations out of the water and hits you with a tsunami of flavor...this is the case with Thai Kitchen. One day when we had a hankering for Thai food, my lady and I ran across this place and ordered some chow for delivery. What we received was an order packed with range of fresh and savory flavors. Some solid commendations are the Beef Noodle Soup, Pad Thai, Andaman Fried Rice and Thai iced tea. The beef noodle had delicious fresh noodles and bean spouts with a spicy broth with hints of cilantro and green onion. And the beef was tender and juicy and not overcooked. Highly recommend! The Andaman Fried Rice was tasty with lots of shrimp, squid and crab meat...it pairs perfectly with a bit of sriracha. My lady got the Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon and said they were both fantastic as well. Give these guys a try. read more

I was in the mood for Thai food so we decided to give Thai Kitchen a try since we had a $10 off Taste Card coupon. The hostess/waiter greeted us to the table and immediate brought us waters. The menu is fairly large and they offer a variety of Curries and other cuisines. I ordered the shrimp curry and hubby ordered the Tofu curry. I guess he just wasn't in the mood for poultry. I tried a bite and actually was impressed with the taste. Our food arrived very quickly and was hot & very good.
