One of my fav thai spots in Denver. Just be careful with the heat levels, where ever you think your actually at I would go one level lower because the food can get really spicey. The Pad Thai is next level and there have only been a few spots that I have seen that are at the same level. The location is really great as well since its in SOBO. We ordered through Uber eats last night & we were pleasantly surprised how hot & fresh our meal was when it arrived!! From the time we ordered to when it was delivered only took 30 minutes so great job to Uber eats as well! I had the pad thai noodles with chicken & the egg rolls. Everything was cooked perfectly. The egg rolls had a nice crispy texture & tender crisp veggies inside. The pad thai had an interesting sauce that was a little different than pad thais I've had before but I liked it! However, I ordered online and tried to communicate that I genuinely want a very spicy dish and received a medium at best. So, be warned, chileheads - though they have a reputation for spicy foods, they are probably hesitant to actually give it to you if you order delivery. Ordered the panang curry and the drunken noodles with a friend as well as the spring roll appetizer with tofu. The spring rolls had been premade so the lettuce was browning. It wasn't the end of the world, we just poured more peanut sauce on them, needed more sauce though. We originally ordered both dishes at a medium. My friend's dish (the drunken noodles) ended up being too spicy and they were nice enough to remake her something different. They made her massamun curry (vegan) style and it came out perfectly. My panang curry with shrimp was good (medium). Their medium is definitely spicy so take their warning. I was a little disappointed that the shrimp wasn't cooked evenly. I had a few pieces cooked great and then I had a few that were under and over. I was also a little disappointed by the vegetables or lack there of. Overall I was appreciative of how accommodating they were to my friend and the remake of her dish - as customer service should be. This is my favorite Thai spot in Denver. Beware: Level 6 spicy is VERY spicy, and it varies by dish if it crosses the "too spicy" line for me. I usually get the Tofu Massaman Curry (level 6), and it's delicious! I also love the shrimp mint spring rolls and the boba Thai iced tea. The only negative thing i have to say is the food varies slightly on different days (Maybe different chefs?). Definitely recommend! read more

Working over the weekend, and feeling sorry for myself, I decided that for lunch maybe I needed to hit up that South Broadway club where the Thai Monkeys party. And lemme tell you, it was hot, hot, hot. The drunken noodles, I mean. Almost as good as the Thai Cart lady's, and that's some kinda good. "Medium hot" at the TMC was top-of-the-head sweatingly good. Not so over-powering as to make my taste buds roll over in agony, but it did supply the face-smacking, eye-opening tingle of running into Sonia Couling at a Bangkok bikini pool party. (Well, probably enough said about that time in my life). Anyway . . . I'm looking forward to comparing this neighborhood gem to what the Aurora neighbors are getting from Utumporn Killoran (the Thai Cart lady from the 16th St. Mall). I think that would be the Southeast Asian culinary equivalent of a WWE smackdown match between Layla and Aksana (and if you don't know what that means, you're not spending enough drunken time in front of your late night TV). I used to really like this place, and maybe I will fall back in love one day, but my last experience left me pretty pissed. It took 2 hours for a simple delivery order to show up (and we live on S. Broadway). The food showed up cold and the rice came out in a single inedible hard block. We called about three times to check on the order and each time they said "10 minutes". No apology or discount offered- really poor form. In the past, I have really enjoyed the green curry and drunken noodles. But as I said, this past experience has left me a little jaded. Solid food and service! Authentic. Generous portions! Very Inexpensive! We split the papaya salad- it was excellent and huge! Spiced "medium" really packed a kick! On my first trip, I tried the green curry and it was nothing special but it was not bad. The Drunken Noodles were heartily enjoyed by my lunch pal. Servings were huge and we brought home boxes. Service was attentive, quick, and friendly. On a second visit, I tried the pad prik khing at a spice level four and wow! It knocked my socks off! That is the kind of Thai I have been looking for! So you may have to experiment a little here but this is a pretty solid Thai restaurant. Enough already, I get it, this place serves food spicy hot. While that is just fine, does a Thai restaurant deserve 4 or 5 stars just because of the spiciness level? Not in my opinion. Ate the Pad Kra Pao with ground pork at level 3; that spice level is incendiary at Thai Monkey Club. I will need to adjust this accordingly on my subsequent visit. Thai cuisine has some of the most amazing flavors and combinations of flavors, none of which I can describe in this dish since my taste buds were obliterated. If you are not into subtlety and just like heat for heats sake then by all means, you've found your Thai restaurant. If you want a more nuanced approach to Thai cooking, then I would suggest another place. The food is fairly priced, the restaurant clean, service is efficient, and the decor pleasant. 3 stars is really a stretch for this Thai dive. The soup tastes like it came from a private labeled king supers can of mystery slop. The food was at least warm but also lacked flavor and any sense of freshness. I the cashew chicken. They were out of cashews. No problem. Ordered the curry. A few minutes later I was informed they "found" a "few" cashews they could use. Why did I think that sounded like a good idea? I did try to actually go in to order but I had a difficult time finding a way into the actual restaurant. The door I saw had a lock box on it so I found it confusing (when I googled it it should have been open according to the times listed). Parking can be a bit of a pain since it's street parking. The only negative I have is that they don't seem to pay attention to the notes. I would order via Grubhub and most of the time the spice level was off and my Thai tea would always come with ice even if I requested no ice. Overall, it's a good place to eat. read more

After about another 10 minutes, the woman told me in an annoyed tone that there was no point in talking to the guy, that she needed to sort it out. Long story short: food was ready 25 minutes after the promised time. The kicker: 3 hours later, I received an email saying my order was ready for pickup. 2. The spiciness level seemed random. I like really spicy food, but to be on the safe side I ordered level 2. It was so hot I couldn't eat it. The additional kicker: this place asks you to tip when you order on line. Just ate here this evening and this place is beyond phenomenal - we ordered the thai eggrolls, crab wontons, Krathiem Prik Thai, Vegetable combo, and Prik Pao Noodle. Everything was stellar - they have a heat rating from 1-6, we got the Prik Pao Noodle at a level 3 and it was really spicy, but the heat came on nice and slow and let all the flavors really come through. I'm actually so happy and excited to have found this place. I was pleased with all the fantastic ratings here on yelp, but the actual food has blown even the best review out of the water. There are no words to describe the fabulous things that are happening in this kitchen. Plus is was quick and the people were so friendly. I have to agree with others about the spice factor: they know what they're doing! I was warned when I wanted "Medium" and went with "Mild Plus" which was right on the money for me. And the woman taking my order was very friendly and helpful. I enjoy a person who enjoys what they do and the food they serve! Drunken noodles were tasty, though a little dry the next day so not as great for leftovers, and I love me some leftovers. The Tom Ka had great broth, but I wasn't a fan of the additions... specifically the mushrooms. I believe they were canned. I don't do canned mushrooms. Nasty texture, nasty taste... just nasty. I strained the broth out and enjoyed it to it's fullest extent, however. Definitely warrants a re-visit... I'll keep you posted... read more

Best Thai in Denver (so far)! Date of Visit: 12/5/14 I've tried 10+ Thai places in the area, and TMC is by far my favorite. While I had the typical boring order of (Shrimp) Pad Thai and (Chicken) Drunken Noodle, this place has the best mix of flavor and heat that I've found locally. The food was very bright and fresh, portion sizes were good, and prices were reasonable. Our favorite Thai in Denver. I LOVE that they put a lot of veggies on all their dishes (in addition to whatever you choose as your protein/main ingredient), and they are the most authentic tasting + spicy of all the places we've tried in Denver. (We've had swing Thai, hey Bangkok, and others, and they're all fine- but most dishes like drunken noodles and fried rice just tent to be too bland and overall, meh). Monkey Club has a 1-6 spice scale, and my husband and I like a fair amount of spice and I only do a 2, and he only does 3. I'd absolutely recommend this spot for DELICIOUS Thai, but not if you prefer blander/mild Thai! That said- we got the Thai fried rice and asked for no spice for someone who doesn't do spice at all, and they loved it. So they can definitely accommodate not spicy dishes for those who don't want them. Also, we live a 10 min drive away and our food arrives early every time, which is a nice perk!! read more
