The food here was very mid: their Pad Thai noodle dish with shrimp was 95% noodles, very few shrimp for the extra fee they charged, a tiny sprinkle of crushed peanuts, and few sad scallion chunks. Where were the bean sprouts and other good veggies that make this dish so much better elsewhere? Indianapolis doesn't have a lot of Thai options, got that, but this place is so sub-par. For those of you interested in good Thai food, take a rain check and try it out somewhere else that isn't trying to cheap out and use a small mountain of noodles to fill you up. Also, don't look for good service here. The management is stuck in a pandemic or UberEats mode. You order and pay for your food up front with a not particularly friendly cashier and pick up your food at the counter as well. Self service at full service prices! I was craving Thai and was happy to find this location so close to the hotel I was staying at. It's always difficult for me to order at Thai restaurants, especially when I'm alone as I was here, because I want all the things. Choosing between a curry dish and a noodle dish is so hard! I ended up with the paradise seafood with medium spice. I quickly found out I should have ordered spicier because it was lacking flavor. The quality of the ingredients was good though along with the service. My meal came out relatively quickly as well, and it was mostly full in there on a Saturday night. I went with a party of 5 for dinner and we all enjoyed our dining experience at Thai Paradise. We ordered Papaya Salad, Yum Woon Sen, Garlic Pepper Chicken, Drunken Noodles, and Paradise Noodles. For dessert, we shared fried bananas with ice cream on the side. All of the food were really good, my favorite was the Papaya Salad and Drunken Noodles. Lots of flavor, some spiciness, and plenty of pizzazz. The menu was like your typical Thai restaurant menu, from Tom Yum Soup to Pad Thai to the sticky rice with mango. The prices were comparable or may even be cheaper than other establishments. The atmosphere was good with nice decor/flooring/overall ambiance. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful, he made a few suggestions and answered any questions we had with the items on the menu. I'm definitely coming back. OMG!! This was some of my favorite Thai food. My friend who is a master pastry chef always says that to find out the quality of a bakery, you should try their chocolate chip cookie (even though I prefer oatmeal raisin)... that is something that each place should be able to make. I feel the same way with Pad Thai Chicken so I order this at new Thai places and this was some of the best I have had. I always order extra hot (SPICY!!!) and this had good flavor without trying to simply be hot for the sake of being hot. I read another review that said to try their crab rangoon, and that did not disappoint either. The waitstaff was friendly and cute... not that it matters for the quality of food, but having attractive people surely doesn't suck. read more

My second time here in 2 days. Yesterday service was great. Today it's jammed packed and not so good. Been here 15 min before getting soup and roll. Soup is too lukewarm for my liking but good flavor. Like pop of peas and carrots, different. Yesterday I had curry noodle dish which was quite good. Portion size a bit small. I order thai hot and it's just hot to me but my tolerance is I just now realized they had brown rice so that Puts them in a strong 4 category Over 17 minutes between soup and entree. What a cute little surprise in the heart of downtown. It literally made my day after a long busy day at work followed by running some errands downtown when I discovered this place. The whole idea of a new Thai restaurant was too awesome! I immediately went inside to discover it was somewhat full. I was welcomed by the waitress who was courteous and helpful with the menu. I got basil chicken in a stir fry form served with rice. The food was well cooked and warm. I had a good time enjoying my food in a cozy little corner. When I travel... which I do on a disturbingly regular basis... I tend to look for certain types of restaurants. Smaller, independent places are often the best but can be hard to find. Thai restaurants are a favorite but, when I'm south, I look for barbeque. So, when I found Thai Paradise only a couple of blocks from my hotel in Indianapolis, I had high hopes! I was not disappointed! This is a small little gem tucked away on Market Street that is definitely worth finding. Quiet and comfortable inside and wonderful staff that make you feel welcome. Tom Yum soup and Chicken Pad Thai were my choices - both "medium spicy. Both dishes were awesome... Yes, awesome! Well seasoned, fresh ingredients, and perfectly done. My husband is obsessed with thai food. Obsessed. Usually when we travel we try to find the best thai restaurant, or any thai restaurant. That being said, I've had the best to the worst. Thai paradise is somewhere in the middle. The location in amazing. I actually park in the garage right behind it but I guess I hadn't been yet because I hadn't heard about it being wildly delicious or the opposite. So I'm a huge fan of getting thai for lunch. The lemongrass soup and tasty springroll make life better. Well, their lemongrass soup fell short or a full serving, or even being a treat. It was just ok. Same for the springroll. Crispy, crunchy but the flavors weren't there. I'm a fan of the old pad thai or pad seuw. It isn't listed but you can order pad seuw for lunch so that's what I did. It again underwhelming but nice and spicy. For the price, you get a decent amount of food. I'll try it again for the pad thai and the thai iced tea. We come on Friday night, and fortunately the restaurant packed with customers who attended the engineering conference. The staffs did very good job in accomandate their customers. So, went straight to line for ordering our meals. They have signed: Order here and pay. Since we are 4 people, two of us lining up and the others two finding seats. We ordered: Tom Yum Chicken, Crab fried rice, Pad Thai and Beef curry and Thai ice tea. After waiting quite long, finally we got our foods. All foods are delicious! Two great lunches in a row at Thai Paradise. I had curries w/tofu both times (yellow and green). They were great. And I saved enough rice both times to take some rice and sauce home with me. The menu doesn't list that you can get tofu in most dishes but they're accommodating. Same with unsweetened ice tea (but it's worth the ask). The vibe reminds me of these small restaurants from the upper Haight in the 90s. Not fancy but good food and laid back vibe (though I was in an out in just about 40 minutes at lunch). Treat me like a lady! I was taught to treat everything from the sea delicately. I ordered the Seafood Delicacy---spicy. The heat was balanced with flavor that was on point. The problem was the the food was waaaay to done. Veggies...soft. The shrimp...I'm still chewing and the mussels were rubber like a super ball..boing! My absolute favorite spot for Thai in the city. I work around the corner & we order the lunch special weekly. It comes with delicious soup and a spring roll. The quality is consistent on the soup and spring roll, as well as the sweet sauce for dipping! I order either chicken pad Thai, or the veggies. Additionally, the cashew chicken is a great option. The only lunch special that doesn't leave leftovers is the veggies, but I am always full. I request hot and it packs a punch! If you don't enjoy spicy avoid medium and above. The restaurant is very intimate with service that is outstanding and quick. It can be tough to get a spot to dine in at lunch, but to go is fast and easy. Three stars is described as "A-OK", which I think is appropriate for yet another Americanized Thai food offering with a sliding scale of "how hot do you want it" instead of "this is Thai food, this tastes best mild, this one is best hot". If you order "hot" or "Thai hot" don't return it, it's on you for thinking you're able to handle it. My wife ordered hers "hot", and finished it, glad she didn't go nuclear with "Thai hot". Staff is really friendly, nicely laid out menu, it was cold and drizzly that day so we ate inside. Coconut milk soup, ordered medium made my hair pleasantly sweat. I think he may have given me a hot version instead. It was really good, just took some time to finish. I tried the Paradise Noodles - it was ordered medium as well, and I wish I had gone a step higher, but I was a little put off by the "no returns" policy if I had gone with hot, which is my usual choice. I had the pork version, and the meat was plentiful, chunky, and really good. My wife went with the hot version of eggplant with chicken instead of tofu. It was hot. She said she liked it, but she sure did take her time with it, and from my taste, it was plenty hot and I give her credit for finishing. I know this might sound whiny, but I learned to love Thai food where they tell you "this is hot, this is not" - prepared to a level of heat that compliments the dish. Pad Thai, for example, is supposed to be eaten mild. Guey Teuw Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) is supposed to light your hair on fire. It tastes best that way. If you're ever in Baltimore, check out Thai Landing, ask for Charlie. OK, my personal pet peeve, stop beating that horse.... if it's about how friendly the staff is, they deserve 5 stars just for being really nice people. I usually give places I like 4-5 stars, and I liked this place, just my own annoyance reduced them to 3, so take that into consideration. read more

Crowded already at 11:20 on a weekday, which I took as a good sign. Service was so fast that I forgot to take pictures... we had eaten and paid in 20 minutes (while a solid line built up). The only item that is worth anything is the fried rice. The chicken wing was extremely dry - like cardboard... Every year we visit Indy for the races we make sure to pass by here...the best part is it's right next to an awesome donut shop. This Thai restaurant is far better and descent (close to a real Thai) than any other places in Indianapolis (we tried so far a lot in downtown Indy). Love the ambiance and the service. I am in the downtown area for a few days and have wanted to try this small Thai restaurant the smell on the street coming from inside is wonderful. The curry and other spices fill the air. I am a huge Mussaman curry fan and ordered the same here. It had a very good flavor and the chicken tasted fresh. A couple of downsides for me...I prefer mild spice and add more if I want it, however they don't have mild curries only medium and above. The other downside was the rice. They advertise sticky rice and it is. I prefer a drier rice that I can add to the curry and not get big bites of rice. All things considered a great place downtown for a good meal. read more

Great view of the Capitol and Monument from the patio. I love spicy food but if eat here, order a level down. I asked for medium and it's right for me. If you're not sure with your level of spicy and hot tolerance, I recommend get the "wimpy". I would highly recommend this for anyone visiting on a business trip during lunch if you're on a budget. I'm giving this 2 stars because the food IS good. I'm also not really the person to leave bad reviews because I think it's mean; and if I don't like the food I'll normally just not go again. I'm leaving a review for Thai paradise today because of the disrespect towards my wife and I. We both are vegetarian, and after getting our food and warming it up; we discovered that 1 had chicken in it by literally eating it. We called and after we said there was an issue, the woman hung up on us. My wife called back and she yelled with annoyance "we're really busy right now!" And my wife proceeded to tell her that our $25 curry was wrong. We ended up having to drive out to pick up another one and at first didn't even offer to replace the wrong curry even though it was ordered correctly and their fault. While the place was small-ish, I could easily see it getting crowded on a weekend dinner rush. The food was spectacular and well-portioned.
