We stopped in on a whim while on the south side, and were rewarded for trusting all the Yelp reviews. The interior is very nice and comfortable. It was pretty busy, and steady, when we were there on a Wednesday night at 6:45. The Padd Thai was very good. I had the pork and ordered it "medium" heat. Thank goodness. My lips were definitely tingling but not uncomfortable. They also had hot, extra hot and Thai hot. The Egg Roll was good (4 not small rolls in an order), and so was the sweet sauce that came with it. This was the first place I ever had Thai food, and while I wouldn't say it was The! Most! Authentic!, it was consistently solid. I especially loved their tom yum with tofu, as well as the gorgeous flower lamps and the glass sinks in the bathrooms. However, I recently returned for lunch, and the beautiful decor was the only good thing that remained. We were served tiny portions of tom yum that were almost inedible, with none of the heat or acid that I remembered. The slices of lemongrass that used to float in the broth were noticeably absent. I got almost no rice with my curry, which was mostly thin liquid but otherwise fine. Flagging down a server for more rice was way more difficult than it should have been. Worst of all, the woman who served us seemed furious to be doing so. She asked for our order while walking past our table and without making eye contact, so it was hard to know she was even speaking to us. When she did turn toward us, she cut us off in the middle of ordering, as in: Me: I'll have red curry-- Her: Red curry, chicken, medium. [to my husband] You? She wasn't finishing our standard orders; I haven't visited this location in five years, and I'm pretty sure I've never ordered anything but tofu here. The menu is pretty large offering 15 different appetizers, 8 types of salads, 4 flavors of soups, fish, seafood, curry, rice dishes, noodle dishes, steak, desserts, beer and wine. Chicken Satay $8 - 5 pieces of chicken. They were good, but a bit pricey. The peanut sauce could have been a bit thicker. Kao Padd Bi Kra Prow with chicken $12.50 - This basil fried rice comes with bell peppers, onions, egg, and choice of meat. The flavors were good, but I should have gone for the regular fried rice to get more vegetables. Some of the prices on the menu is outdated, e.g. Thai iced tea on the menu is $2.50 but rang up $2.75. We love this placed! Just arrived on a cross county road trip from San Diego! We unpacked the van and headed out for our favorite Thai! It was 2:00 PM on a Thursday so it was not crowded!! We went with our standards Chicken Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon, Soft Shell Crab, Chicken Massama Curry and Seafood Delight, Hot! I will order Extra Hot next time. Obviously had LOTS of left overs for later!! Cooled off the meal with Beer Chang! Normally go for Singh Ha, but decided to go crazy! The grandchildren Face Timed us while we were there! Love, love, love this little gem for Thai food. Always my go to whenever asked where I want to go to dinner. Food is always hot, great portion sizes can share if not too big of an appetite which I love and I have not yet found a place that I like better for pad Thai or pineapple fried rice and we have tried a lot of places around the area as well as when we travel. Wow, I love this place so much!! The food is SO GREAT, decor is adorable and interesting to look at and staff is super friendly and attentive. Consistently awesome experiences here with both dining in and and carry out. I always want to try new things but the pad see ew is so dang good I can never bring myself to not get it! Last time we also ordered tom yum soup and it was probably one of the best things I've put in my mouth, VERY flavorful and spice level spot on. Spring rolls are another favorite. Boyfriend likes to get thai basil fried rice and it's also really good and has that yummy basil flavor. Terrible food. Quality gone down and way too pricy. We just did a take out. Tofu pineapple fried rice hot was tasteless , not hot at all - I mean less than medium bland. The rice was uncooked and tofu was chewy probably refried. We had total 3 pineapple fried rice 1 chicken Thai hot, 1 tofu hot, 1 tofu bland, 1 green curry. Consistently delicious Thai food in a very unsuspecting location on the south side of Indy in Greenwood! They are typically pretty busy, so it's not that uncommon to have a short wait. Clean dining area with traditional Thai decor. Wait staff was very nice & attentive. As an app, the Thom Yum soup was super flavorful & spicy! I like a decent amount of spice, & I got the medium & it was a little more spicy than I would have expected. For dinner I got the Padd Kemau which is a wide noodle dish loaded with fresh veggies! The noodles were thick & perfectly cooked. I got medium spice & it was much less spicy than the soup. I probably could have gotten the hot for a little more kick! My mom got the very popular Pineapple Fried Rice with mild spice & it was equally delicious, especially if you like pineapple in a savory dish. The presentation was super fun coming in a hollowed out pineapple. The average price for a meal is between $12-$15, so it's more on the pricey side, but the dishes are definitely big enough to share & we both walked away with leftovers! read more

Whoa-get down to Greenwood for this incredible restaurant. When my extremely picky husband eats there-and takes his leftovers home and eats THOSE-I know it's a winner. This place took great care of our large party and all of our food looked delectable and tasted fantastic. My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice and it did not disappoint. The appeal overall is the presentation, but the tastes matched. I couldn't decide and asked our waiter for his recommendation. He offered #62: Laad Nar with chicken. I had to stop myself from eating it all because the portion was huge, but so delicious. I don't ever remember if I tried Thai food. However, I don't like curry as my Taiwanese friend, who really like Thai food, say it consists of. This restaurant had a booth at this year's Indianapolis Chinese Festival. I decided to try their appetizers of a vegetable spring roll, a wing, and a drummette with sweet chili sauce for $2. I was puzzled that I thought there was meat in my roll; then I tasted just that piece of food and realized it was mushroom. Oh, I love mushrooms! It was great. As usual, I've got the drunken noodles. It was a big portion, so you may want to share the dishes. Even for lunch, it was pretty big. Decorations were nice and their bathroom sink was cool. You should go see it yourself. At least the woman's bathroom.. the lady got the order wrong for my husband's dish, but she did give us $2 discount for that. I did not like my drunken noodles. The dish was more sweet based than spicy based. And the sauce made me hard to finish the dish because I've got sick of eating it after few bites. I expected it to be spicy too so that was disappointing. I should've gotten Thai hot, instead of hot. The service was nice and food came out quick enough. Thai Spice is my favorite area Thai restaurant. The quality of the food is miles ahead of many of its competitors, in terms of freshness, taste, diversity of vegetables & ingredients, and portion size. I've enjoyed the menu's curries, stir-fries, and noodle dishes. My favorite recent discovery was the padd kemau, with spicy basil stir-fried wide noodles, tons of different veggies (tomato, baby corn, bok choy, carrot, peppers, broccoli & more), and a flavorful sauce with bits of fermented soybeans. It is the best of the wide noodle offerings (i.e. versus the more boring padd seuw). The noodles are freshly made, and are a wonderful change from rice or rice noodle based dishes. For the rice-based dishes, I recommend the herbal-tinged padd kra prow (more spicy basil sauce) and padd ped (red chili & more basil). On the curry side, you can never go wrong with the panang or red curries. I typically order "hot" and am definitely sniffling by the end of my meal...so much the better to order a Thai ice tea, for cooling down my taste-buds. Thai Spice's menu offers more unique dishes, that are a bit more authentic (from this amateur, non-Thai person's opinion). I haven't seen dishes like the "sun-dried beef" or "catfish with chucee sauce" at other local restaurants. The sauces taste brighter and more complex than elsewhere. I often order tofu as my "meat" add-on, so not to overshadow the other ingredients. Service is very friendly and fast at Thai Spice. The homemade lamps look like beautiful flower petals, when you squint, and there is a neat twirly glass faucet in the women's bathroom. The portions are reasonable for the price (compared to Siam Square, for example), and are especially large for the wide noodle dishes; however, the flavor and quality aren't sacrificed. I definitely recommend making the drive south of Indy to experience Thai Spice; you'll forget you are in the middle of Greenwood's commercial quagmire. read more

We eat Thai food at least once a week and devices to check out Thai Spice. We were short on time so I appreciated the quick and friendly service. We ordered pad Thai and pad see ew. The spice levels were just right and the portions huge. Unfortunately, I was pretty underwhelmed with the food. The pad see ew was heavy and quite salty. This was my first experience with Thai cuisine and I was pleasantly surprised! My mom and her best friend came up to visit me and we decided to stop in for something new! We all loved each of our dishes. Walking in, I wasn't immediately impressed, it seemed somewhat cheesy and the host, who was also our server, was quiet and awkward. Once seated we were slightly overwhelmed with the giant menu, it's like 6 pages! I decided to pick something on the safe side, Pad Thai medium heat with tofu and an iced green tea to drink. Our food arrived quite quickly and was steaming hot. I loved my pad Thai, the perfect blend of sweet and spicy filled with tasty noodles and vegetables. Hands down best Thai place I've found so far in Indiana. Located in the greenwood area, south of Indianapolis with plenty of parking and a good amount of seating inside. I like to try new restaurants, even if I've found a place I like. I figured I would give this place and shot and see what they could make vegan. They were super helpful and knew exactly what I meant when I said vegan. We ordered the mushroom vegetable soup which was spicy, pad Thai, and red curry. All were absolutely delicious and filling. The portions were a big size so we had some leftovers to take home but I really appreciate when restaurants give a good portion of food. The soup was extremely flavorful with a kick of spice to it with lots of fresh mushrooms in it, see for yourself in the picture below. The red curry with tofu was also loaded with fresh vegetables, mhmmm mmmm mhmm and was nice and creamy from the coconut milk. Rice was good as always, but would have wished for a little bit more. The pad Thai was loaded with loads of fresh veggies too and was super tasty and delicious, one of the best I have had and I think that is because of the great amount of veggies.
