We ordered delivery and were told it would be 45 minutes - 1 hour. After over an hour of no delivery we called. We were told there had been problem with deliveries but all orders were out now. 30 minutes later we called again. This time we were told the same and that one of their drivers had gotten lost for an hour. None of which is our problem. The food was cold and some inedible. read more

First let me say that I work a large business close to this establishment and I will make sure that all of my coworkers are aware of this place's poor customer service and shady business practices... So myself and a few of my coworkers placed an order for delivery that was paid with split payment (2 credit cards and the remainder cash). Shouldn't be that difficult to figure out, it's just like a split check at a table when dining in. We specified what order went with which payment but that it would all be delivered to the same place. When the order arrived there was only one ticket to sign and the ENTIRE $60+ order had been charged to one person's credit card!! We immediately called the restaurant to have the charges corrected. The hostess was new (told us it was her second day on the job) and when I tried to explain what happened, she sounded totally confused but assured me the situation was resolved. Against my gut feeling, I did not ask to have the corrected receipts brought to me; I just wanted to get off the phone because the delivery guy kept reminding me that he had another order in his car still to deliver. A couple days later, a different coworker of mine comes to work and asks if we ordered from Thai Spice two days before. She had a charge on her card from them and she wasn't even at work when we ordered! In fact she had only ever ordered from them once and it was 3 weeks prior! Why they still had her debit card on file was beyond me. They don't do online ordering, we never gave them permission to keep that information, I don't know what type of security, if any, they have in their computer system that prevents someone accessing that information for malicious use. This is a huge red flag and not an acceptable business practice. So now after an in person visit to the restaurant (during which I was asked by a staff member to "come back another time because we are really busy right now") and a follow up phone call insisting that I speak to a manager (who conveniently wasn't there), it has been 5 days since the whole fiasco started and I have yet to speak to anyone besides a hostess. So if you still wish to patronize this establishment (the food is only average in my opinion), please pay with cash or just know that if you call in a delivery order they will save your information without your permission!! And God forbid they should mess up the payment because you will never get to speak to anyone to get your money back! read more

I live in Thailand about half the time and own a condo there. I'VE eaten my share of REAL Thai food. This is an Americanized version of Thai food. Bland,and not very good. Big portions of not so authentic Thai food. Like most Asian restaurants around here. they seem to want to second guess the customers and tone down the food. Not impressed. Overall, the food was really bad. The rolls were stuffed with fried vegetables. Imitation crab was being passed off as soft shell crab, and one of our rolls had burnt broccoli in it (I've never had a roll with broccoli). The staff is nice, but that doesn't help the fact I had to wait upwards of 20 minutes for my bill to be processed. The staff need to be better trained. To their testament, they did removed the burnt broccoli roll from my bill - which I appreciate. read more

The food is very good, the lunch is a killer deal. The sushi to order is lacking. Do not order take out without checking the order. When having food delivered, I have NEVER had a correct order delivered. Last order had no rice, no chicken, no egg rolls, missed my sons dish entirely. They brought a replacement dish for him an hour after his bed time but it was incorrect too. This is not the first or the second time for this to happen. Never got the correct order and paid for items that were never received. Manager seemed unconcerned at call back and beyond (much) later delivery of missing item(s), he made no attempt to rectify problem. read more

Pretty disappointed in a place I've been eating at for 10 years and love. I ordered green curry fried rice and was served fried rice. I've eaten it here weekly for 10 years and when I told the waitress she served me incorrectly she insisted, as did the kitchen, that it was correct. As I was waiting for my order (15 minutes after the quoted time), another patron came in and had to ask if she should seat herself as she was not acknowledged. Heard good things about this place. Went out on "date night" and hoped for great food or great service, ideally both at the same time. Place was not crowded yet, and waiter took our order: appetizer, green curry with white rice, and thai salad plus two waters (no thai iced tea at a thai place??). No appetizer arrived we waited a while but not too long, and all of a sudden our main course arrived, well most of it. My salad looked great, tasted good. The green curry was served up as red curry, no rice. Then the waiter asked again, white or brown rice? White was the answer the second time. then another five minutes or so goes by, and no rice. The waiter comes by eventually and apologizes for the delay, goes back to the kitchen and then brings out brown rice. Uh, white rice dude, then he spirits it away to the kitchen and later brings out white rice. Rule to go by, if you can't remember the order, don't try to be slick, write the order down. He's lucky my date likes both red and green, it was tasty but not the right order. So here goes: No appetizer-fail no spice relish tray-fail red curry instead of green curry-fail no rice, then brown rice then eventually white rice-fail getting an error message while running the card and not entering numbers manually-fail not making eye contact and thanking us for our patronage on the way out as we walk by to the door-fail read more

This was just the worst Thai I have ever had. Delivery was horrific. Food was rock cold and I had specificially asked for the Cashew Chicken NOT to be breaded and it was. I am so particular on my Thai food. If the slightest thing is off I will hate it with a passion. Thai Spice in Lakeway is without a doubt the best Thai food within 400 miles. I've had the best I've had the worst. I've been all over the U.S. and other than the Thai Restaurant in Daleville Alabama this is without a doubt the best money can buy. I love Basil Fried Rice Beef/Chicken, that is a hard dish to prepare and have it come out perfect but these guys make it happen time and time again. Not only does it taste wonderful but it looks as though care went in to making it, the chicken is moist the rice is perfect the veggies are cooked to make you want to slap your momma, it's all around perfect. The cheese rolls appetizers are to die for with their own dipping sauce. Having been in the Army and been deployed to SE Asia I can say this is as close as you will get to the happiness Thai food will bring you. The icing on the cake is they deliver!!!!! We went for lunch and had the worst meal I've had in a long time. I ordered the cashew chicken for $11. The chicken was frozen battered pieces and very dry and I had three cashews on the plate. The sauce was hot which I didn't mind was it was hot for the sake of being hot and not flavorful. My husband had the sushi. It was mushy and flavorless. The service was poor. When we were seated the waitress didn't speak to us or even smile. I felt like I was taking her away from something else she would rather be doing. I had to walk to the servers station to get a refill on my tea twice. I think she was annoyed when I asked for more tea. She was sitting at another table having her lunch. I had some great red curry here. Spice level on the curry was just right - told my husband my curry ranked up there as worthy of the coveted "four glasses of tea" ranking, spice-wise. But it was very tasty, too, with generous chunks of pineapple, sweet red pepper, chicken (my chosen meat), and bamboo, with just the right amount of basil. Just ate here with my boyfriend after christmas tree shopping. Food was just ok...menu was super disorganized and our waiter was seriously sub par. When we walked in the table of socializing employees stared at us like we were interrupting their party. My miso soup took way too long to come out and once we got our actual meals our waiter didn't check on us once. Service would be zero stars except for the lovely woman who always kept our glasses full. Went here for lunch during the week. We were seated right away and ordered tea, which we brewed at our table and enjoyed right away. We ordered Pad Thai and Pad Kae Mow, which were delicious. The most impressive part was the sushi, spring roll, egg roll and soup buffet that was free with our order that we could enjoy while we waited for our main dishes. Hey neighbors, I have to tell you about our latest experience at Thai Spice Lakeway. We ordered dinner tonight and were told it would take 45 minutes for delivery, after waiting over an hour and a half, it arrived. This has been a trend the last few times we've ordered. The noodles were cold, the curry was leaking through the bag and the rice was tipped over. We called to ask for a refund. First, they said they can't issue a refund unless we returned the food. I told the poor girl on the phone to let me speak to the manager/owner. Little did he know I could hear his entire conversation with the employee he had answering the phones. They talked for a few minutes and ultimately would not get on the phone. It was unbelievable what I was hearing. Instead, he forced this girl to ask for my number and tell me that "the manager" would call me back. After years of giving Thai Spice my business, I am done. This was the absolute worst customer service experience I've had out here. I gave them a chance to make it right. They refused. I want everyone to know how they treat their customers. read more

Would likely not return to this place. I ordered the Pad Kee Mow with chicken (drunken noodles) which is a pretty standard American Thai dish. The flavors were all wrong, the chicken looked terrible, the vegetables tasted like they were just pulled from another stir fry dish and tasted terrible. My husband ordered the yellow curry which was a better dish in general but not worth coming here. Also, it's rather pricey for a small Thai restaurant. $15 average for a plain dish. The restaurant itself has no decor, the floors looked dirty, and they were playing really loud pop music from the radio, full of the obnoxious commercials. The service was OK but outweighed by all the other negatives... Mostly the food. Overall, I would not return. And if you want good Thai food, just drive into Bee Cave and go to Madam Mam's!! read more
