    Thai fried rice

A hidden gem in the strip mall at the corner of Redbud Lane and Gattis School Road. My wife and I had lunch there today. I always order the Penang curry which is my favorite. My wife had the Thai fried rice. We're never disappointed at Thai Spoon. And there's a new ice cream shop right next-door!

One of my favorite Thai spots in town for many years now. Been coming here for nearly a decade now and it is always consistent. My top dish is easily the drunken noodles. Noodles and beef are cooked to perfection. They give you plenty so always a highlight to have enough for a second lunch another day. I wanted to try the wings out. Mind you this was a to-go order, so weren't fresh out of the kitchen, but they were slightly disappointing. Not much flavor and on the skimpier side. We also ordered the kid's sweet and sour fried chicken. We assumed the sauce would be on the chicken but it's just on the side for you to dip. side note: not mango season so no mango sticky rice.

I'm always on the lookout for excellent Thai restaurants and I'm adding Thai Spoon to the list. Although located in a somewhat nondescript shopping center, the food is anything but bland. This family-run restaurant churns out some amazing entrees and it seems to be very busy most of the time. One of my old essential standbys that I find sets the tone for any Thai restaurant is green curry. Thai Spoon's version is excellent, filled with bamboo and proteins that are cooked to perfection. The sauce was pleasingly creamy and held together well. Some curries end up with a broken sauce but Thai Spoon was made exactly right with a good snort of pepper spices as well. The Pad Woon Sen hit the right notes too with a good balance between the brightness of lime juice and savory soy and fish elements. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and will be back. Highly recommended.

So the service was great. Both the young man and young lady working were very friendly and helpful. My soup was very mediocre. It tasted like they added water to the broth to stretch it. I can't say that I will be back. I hate wasting money on bland food.

A tradition stripe mall restaurant- open concept - kinda dark. The staff was ready to serve and friendly - quick order turn around - almost like it was all prepared ahead. Nothing exciting to say other than it was traditional food and good service.

Thai Spoon has been one of my favorite Pad Thai spots for a few years now. I have actually not tried anything other than their Pad Thai and mango with sticky rice. The mango with sticky rice is delicious every single time and up until the last few visits their Pad Thai has been off the chain. Unfortunately, the spice level has not been delivering the proper heat. I always order the Thai hot spice level and I even top it off with a little Sriracha. When I received my first wimpy spiced noodles, I thought maybe it was just an ordering mistake but it's happened about three times now. I'm not sure what's changed, but because of this it just is not my favorite spot anymore.

Came out here for a craving fix! Needed some good Thai food (especially some noodles). The restaurant was actually fulllllllll on a Tuesday night and there were many customers coming in to pick up online orders. That's always a good sign. Ambiance: super chill and family friendly. Parking: lots of it (no need to worry about it) Food: delish! Not pictured: the taro boba, potstickers as appetizers & my husband's pineapple shrimp fried rice. It was all super yummy! Prices: a bit steep in this inflation but it's expected.i would come back!

Solid spot for Thai!…read more Everything was great -- textures and flavors on point. Loved that they had a selection of crispy pork belly dishes. Got the #48 (crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli). It was tasty as take-out and I'm sure it's even better on the spot. Chinese broccoli was cooked perfectly. Also tried the crispy wings which were yummy as well. Finally, my husband's Pad Thai was excellent (perfectly flavored, with nicely crisped tofu). Noticed a lot of vegetarian options here, if that's your thing. Definitely recommend!

The food comes with some hot pepper powder, pickled jalapeños, and sambal sauce on the side if you ask for hot sauce. If you have a higher spice tolerance, you can ask for fresh Thai chili on the side instead! Our usual order is usually the pad Thai and garlic crispy pork with cilantro sauce! The crispy pork is crispy, but also soft once you hit the meat. It is a good choice for those who don't like only crispy skin, or only meat. It's the best of both worlds. The pad Thai is nicely moist without being too soggy. It's sticky at most. Once you mix it with the bean sprouts, it comes out perfect. I also recommend their Thai tea! I get one every time and it isn't overly creamy. The music is pretty loud if there aren't a lot of people in the restaurant, but it's not too bad. The service is always amazing since I believe the owners are always at the restaurant.

Tried DA's Thai Cuisine for pickup and had a little bit of a mixed experience…read more First things first -- the place itself is nice, clean, and the staff is personable. No complaints there. Ordering and pickup were smooth. Now let's talk food. The deep-fried egg rolls (stuffed with carrots, cabbage, and clear bean noodles, served with sweet and sour sauce) were really good. Crispy, hot, and flavorful. Solid start. The steamed dumplings? Now those were the star of the show. Made with pork, shrimp, crab meat, green onions, and carrots -- and served with their special sauce. That sauce paired perfectly with the dumplings. Balanced, flavorful, and just worked. Out of everything we ordered, this was the clear home run. I also ordered what I believed to be the Thai papaya salad. From what I can tell comparing ingredients, I did receive the Thai-style version (shredded papaya, garlic, fish sauce, tomatoes, lime juice, palm sugar, topped with peanuts). Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I've had papaya salad at other Thai spots where the peanuts are roasted and really incorporated into the dish. Here, it felt like the peanuts were just tossed in at the end. The overall flavor just didn't come together, and I wouldn't order that again. My husband had the Thai fried rice (his second time ordering it), and he thoroughly enjoys it -- so that's a win on his side. For me, out of the egg rolls, papaya salad, and steamed dumplings -- the dumplings were the only real standout. Would I go back? Probably not. But that's just my experience -- don't let me be the deciding factor. Give it a try and see what hits for you.

Parking & Service: Arrival was stress-free thanks to the massive parking lot in the strip mall. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming. We usually prefer a heavy heat, but found that levels 8 and 9 were still relatively mild. If you're a true spice lover, you might want to venture into the double digits! The Food: Portions are very generous and perfect for family-style dining. Everything was flavorful, though my one small note for the kitchen is that some dishes leaned a bit heavy on the salt. The service has always been great--servers are attentive, friendly, and quick to clear plates, which we've always appreciated. It's part of why we kept coming back. That was already a letdown. What really did it for us, though, was finding a plastic to-go cup lid inside one of our drink glasses. It was buried in there, and completely threw us off. At that point, we were just done. It's a bummer because we've liked this place for a long time, but between the smaller portions and that experience, we won't be coming back.
