Great experience with takeout dinner. The female staff was polite during phone order. And the quoted wait time was on par. Upon entering the restaurant, the Asian eclectic decor was evident. Very clean restaurant as well. They offer a fusion menu, so we ordered shrimp tempura; Pad Woon Sen with fried tofu; Eggplant with chicken, basil chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. Everything tasted great & fresh. We also appreciated the generous portion size. It took me two days to finish the Pad Woon Sen (stirred fried clear glass noodle with veggies & tofu). We have been going here many times now and we always enjoy our food. They have a section on their menu for vegan eaters. We have tried their curry, pad Thai, vegan vegetable and vegan fried rice. Everything tasted fresh and good. I also order the chow mein with no vegetables for my kids and it is always a hit. Ambiance is very welcoming and feels like you are coming home to your mom's house. Lately, we've been craving Thai food and happened to stumble across Thai Tara--conveniently located right in our neighborhood. We decided to try the vegan potato curry and the spicy tofu Pad See Ew; both dishes were exceptional--fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The staff member who took our order was incredibly kind and helpful, adding to the great experience. A couple of things to keep in mind: Thai Tara offers a small discount for those paying in cash (which we luckily had on hand), and they provide different spice levels, with the highest being the intense Thai-level extra spicy. I had a severe craving for pineapple fried rice and luckily Thai Tara showed up on the map close to my place. So, I drove over to the unassuming restaurant nestled along a strip of other businesses. The restaurant interior is very cozy and you feel like you're at any other hole-in-the-wall joint. Also, the staff is quick to greet you when you walk in, which is a positive in my book. There was not a crowd when I visited (weekday dinner hours), so I was able to get sat quickly. I ordered pineapple fried rice--I was on a mission, which I ultimately accomplished at a very reasonable price. The rice came out fresh and flavorful, and it had both chicken and shrimp. Have gotten Thai Tara for takeout countless times, but had time to kill with the family and opted to dine in. The chicken and fried tofu pad Thai are both to die for. Every time I have visited it is slow inside which is surprising, but it allows their stuff to provide impeccable customer service! We were sat immediately and brought a high chair and disposable plate/utensils for our baby so he didn't throw their nice items (which is appreciated haha)! What a hidden gem this place is! I wish it was nearer to Chinatown. When we came in we were the only customers around lunchtime. We were immediately tended to, offered a drink and menu, and the server explained some of the items. Usually ordering the same items: we got a tom Kha soup, cucumber salad, and a pad see ew. It was bigger than pictured and was enough to feed my boyfriend and I. I like this place as it is quiet, clean and well decorated. I also like the name, Tara. Excellent spot on the west end. Inside a shopping center near the Dollar Tree Was close to our hotel and convenient. Food came out quickly. Service was attentive. Ordered the Pad Thai w Shrimp. We have been to Thai places all over and it definitely takes a great dish to stand out for Pad Thai, but this one was definitely flavorful. It was a on the sweeter side but not too much. Also ordered the fried rice with veggies. Was surprised at the mixed amount of veggies. Since my wife is vegan it's always challenging finding a flavorful dish that's vegan friendly. They had a good amount of vegan options, so the whole family was satisfied. If you're out of town and looking for a Thai place that's not extra on the budget this was a solid choice. I had high expectations before I paid this place a visit. I think their food was good but nothing special or impressive. The crab Rangoon was good, it was nice and crispy. The basil fried rice was good but I think if I ever order it again, I would go for the maybe tofu or beef because their squid didn't taste very fresh, it had a fishy taste to it. The dessert was ok, it didn't taste bad but I heard the sound of a microwave when they were making it, so I'm assuming they either microwaved the sticky rice or the Thai pudding/custard on top. I'm not sure how I feel about microwaved food. The server only had me in the whole restaurant to serve but she was not very attentive. More than half of the time she was sitting behind the counter either on her phone or looking elsewhere. I had to wait for over 10 minutes for her to finally look my way. They do keep the restaurant pretty nice and clean and the decorations inside were nicely done. Not sure if I would want to come back here, maybe I'll give it another chance some other day and try their other items to see if they taste better read more

Hidden in a plaza that's not relatively busy, Thai Tara is a little gem that is worth the dining. Plates were large, could have been the plating but it looked like a medium to large portion. We ordered the classics, pad Thai, pad see ew, yellow curry and wontons. When I say that the food was BOMB, it was so gooood that we all cleared our plates! There was six people and not one of us complained of the food being okay or bland. Perhaps we got lucky? Perhaps it is just that good.
