Thai Thyme is a Thai authentic restaurant that located at city of Monrovia.. ordering authentic classic foods included appetiser n main dishes liked Chicken Satay, yummy n delicious!! Good marinated chicken n good mixed of peanut sauce n cucumber diced!! Main dishes included coconut soup egg noodles with meats!! Good tasting n strong favour, meat a bit over cooked. Pineapple fried rice was so freshly with nuts n pineapple diced!!! Meat still over cooked a bit... That's why it's 4 stars of Yelp!! Otherwise, it would be Five stars perfect!!

Background On Visit: One of my coworkers told me about this shop and thought to myself that I should experience this great place also. Price Point: A bit pricey, but I do get that they have to mark it up because of where they are located at. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restroom: They're available Location/Parking: Between Colorado and Olive on Myrtle Ave.. Parking can be found along Myrtle or in the public parking lots around town. Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with modern furnishings. They have a patio in the back for your fur babies. Service: Staffers weren't attentive and food got to our table 30 minutes later. We weren't check up on. We asked for water and the water never came. We did ask another staffer and the water did eventually arrive to our table. Towards the end of our dinner, one of the staffers was hovering near our table with a dish waiting for us to leave. Other people that were there longer than us didn't receive that treatment. It is.... what it is I guess. Food Of Choice: 1) Chicken Skewers: They were dry, tough, and chewy. The satay was alright though. 2) Pad Kee Mao (Drucken Noodles) With Chicken: Thought it was okay. Wished they added more protein and was sweet. 3) Wonton Soup: Liked this one better than the pad kee mao and chicken skewers. It was pleasant to eat. I liked the soup. Thai Thyme For Thought: Might be the first and last time, but don't let my experience deter others from experience a better time than me.

I had such a wonderful experience in terms of food and service when I first went there a month ago so I'm very bummed to have to update my review based on my takeout experience. Ordered UberEats and it arrived in less than an hour! Got the Pad Thai ($16.95) and it was very disappointing. It tasted nothing like when I last had it at the restaurant a month ago. The noodles didn't have the "pan fried" taste and was quite bland. The peanut bits tasted a bit stale. The portion was generous but I prefer quality over quantity. Overall, I was very disappointed with my dish and I will definitely not order takeout from this restaurant again unfortunately!

First time visiting & it won't be the last. Great food, big portions, friendly service, nice decor with lots of indoor seating. They were able to accommodate most dishes to be gluten free. We enjoyed the chicken pad thai, chicken red curry and garlic green beans. The salmon was a little dry, maybe because they had to take out the sauce to make it gluten free. We also enjoyed the complimentary dessert, coconut pudding and chocolate pudding. Will definitely return to try more items on the menu.

I loved Thai thyme! The service was really great and I think the owner was coming around saying hi to people! I definitely recommend the kah soi-- it's soooo flavorful. The papaya salad is solid! The pad thai is good-- wish it had more peanuts and bean sprouts tho. And we got this beef dish with basil which was also excellent. We loved everything. The portions are also huge. We had Leftovers for many meals later

Thai Thyme in Downtown Monrovia is hands down one of the best Thai food restaurants I've had visited in a long time. Everything from the decor to the customer service to the food was absolutely a 10/10! Jessica was our server and she was AMAZING. Her customer service was phenomenal! Here's a rundown of what I ordered: * Chicken Satay - $15.95 - The chicken was well marinated and very moist. 9/10 * Fish Cake - $15.95 - Best Fish Cake I've ever had! It came in perfect bite pieces and was very delicious. I literally ate the whole plate by myself - it was VERY delicious! 10/10 * Pad Se Eew (with chicken thigh) - $14.95 - Huge portion, very reasonable price and very tasty. I really enjoyed this dish. 9/10 * Holy Kaprow (Spicy Basil with Beef $2 extra) - $15.95 - Very flavorful dish except the beef was very dry and chewy. I really wished they would've tenderized the meat or maybe use a different cut of beef because this would've easily been another 9/10. I plan on ordering this same dish but with Shrimp or Chicken at my next visit. * Thai Iced Coffee - I LOVED IT! Not too sweet, definitely hit my taste buds in the right spot. Just when I thought my dinner couldn't get any better, Jessica stopped by my table with complimentary dessert - homemade Coconut Cake & Chocolate Pudding. How sweet was that? Definitely ended my dining experience at Thai Thyme on a high note. I am so happy that I think I've found my favorite Thai restaurant. Highly recommend Thai Thyme!

Place is really nice inside and has great ambiance. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was flat out amazing. Great flavor, tender chicken and crisp veggies. Spice level three was comfortable, I'd probably try a four next time. Spice tray was on point, I ate almost all of the jalapeños out of it. I'd definitely return to try some other dishes.

Picked up some food here to take to my parent's house for Christmas. Ordered the pad thai, pad kee mao, and some fried rice. We ordered the pad kee mao medium spicy, and I would definitely order the mild instead next time...who knows - maybe my taste buds are different now and I can't tolerate spiciness like I used to. Overall a great spot for Thai food if you find yourself in Old Town Monrovia. They were busy, but still were attentive to all the customers.

If I could star more than 5, I would. Thai Thyme in Monrovia is the most delicious Thai food I've had. I have eaten here on many occasions and they are consistent with their flavors and service. Restaurant is clean (restrooms included), cutely decorated, and they always have soothing background music playing. I especially appreciate the servers friendliness and relaxing environment they provide. My favorite is their Pad Se Eew, Yellow Curry, Egg Rolls, and Chicken Satay. Their peanut sauce and mild spicy sweet flavors are so delicious! They are located in downtown Monrovia, which has a few blocks to walk of stores, dessert, coffee, and a movie theater. Parking is easy and free. Definitely worth the try.

Granted we ordered for takeout and maybe the food is better in person dining in. But I'll have to say it's just okay. Spicy levels were great, but lacked flavor and balance. Red curry was a little too sweet for my taste. Overall decent but don't know that I'll try again.

Family friendly atmosphere, relaxing and charming. I like the high ceilings with the exposed brick. Friendly owner ! My friend told me her work had an event here before and so we gave it a try, I was pleasantly impressed!! :) LOVED my Khao soi noodle soup! There was so much soup which I loved, and it's so rich and flavorful. The papaya salad was a good portion and yummy too. I am impressed with the selection of authentic Thai food on the menu, and enjoyed the service. 10/10 Follow me for more foodie adventures :) -Living with Luci

Thai Thyme is my favorite Thai restaurant in the SGV. Growing up in the neighborhood, I've witnessed several iterations come and go, but this iteration is by far my favorite and I'm ecstatic that the current owner chose to run this place and make it some place special. Each dish relies on fresh ingredients and spices to bring out the flavor. I generally go for the Tom Kha and Pad Thai, but this evening we also tried the sweet and sour tofu and the chicken satay. If you have vegetarian or vegan friends in your party, I encourage you to try their house made alternative protein--it's some of the best I've ever had! The interior venue is cute, but I also enjoy their back patio on warm evenings. The staff is always friendly and I hope you, too, can enjoy this Monrovia treasure.

    Welcome to Thai Thyme. #monrovia

Thai Thyme is cozy Thai restaurant that specialize in authentic Thailand cuisine. It's located in Monrovia. They have vast selection of food and drinks at a reasonable price. Interior looks charming with high ceiling and exposed brick. Atmosphere was relaxing. We have walked passed by Thai Thyme for years but never hand a chance to check-in until tonight. Because it tends to be packed due to its popularity. Anyway, after we perused their menu; I ordered a Chicken Pad Won Sen, Spring Rolls, iced tea and water. The noodle was tasty, moist and flavorful albeit a bit salty. Similarly, spring rolls were delightful. Drinks were good. Staff were very attentive, engaging and respectful. Prices were fair and competitive. Atmosphere was relaxing and has a good vibe. Overall, it's a nice Thai spot in my favorite town of Monrovia. I recommend you visit.

Parking is easily available on the street in front of the store or in the back. There are a few tables inside and the interior is clean. They run promos often with freebies such as Thai tea if you meet a purchase minimum. My go to orders are boat noodle, tom yum soup, curry, and crab fried rice. The boat noodle has rich flavor that I can't find anywhere else in the area. Tom yum comes with a lot of shrimp and the they don't skimp on the crab in the fried rice either. Portions are generous and I have enough leftovers for a full meal the next day. Their new item drunken spaghetti reminds me of the one I had in Thailand. Golden bags are excellent as appetizers. They're fried but not too oily and have delicious filling. Their Thai tea deserves a shoutout too. It tastes authentic and not watered down. Their online ordering platform makes getting takeout easy.

There isn't a big sign or anything so you really have to want to look for it to find it. They just opened 7 months ago, so they're new to the area. There's plenty of parking in the back, turn right in the bigger driveway after Peacock Donuts - the first one before Peacock Donuts is uncomfortably narrow. You have to enter the restaurant from the front. Luckily my son's wheelchair baaaarely fit through the sign pole between the gas station and the building where the restaurant is so we didn't have to go all the way around. The restaurant is small with enough seating for about 15 people. The lady who worked there was super nice and constantly rearranged our plates to fit on the table (we ordered a lot of food). The menu has a lot of the standard Thai dishes, but the one thing they have there that I don't often see in other Thai restaurants I go to is Khao Soi (they spelled it Khow Soi), so I had to order it. If you've never tried it, it's egg noodles in a curry broth, with crispy egg noodles on top. The one at Thara 8 is well done and really delicious. They offer lunch specials Mon - Sat from 11 am - 3 pm that come with rice, a fried dumpling and a salad. In addition to the Khao Soi, We also got the lunch special of Pad Thai Chicken, lunch special Pumpkin Curry Shrimp, Drunken Noodle, and Tom Kah Shrimp noodle w/ thin rice noodle. Everything was really good. The pumpkin curry was great , but my favorite dish was the Khao Soi! I loved the crunchy noodle mixed with the soft noodles and the broth was so flavorful. I would've liked the drunken noodle to be spicy as I'm used to it being a spicy dish, and this was not. The Tom Kah Shrimp was a bit too coconutty for me personally. It's probably traditionally made, but I was expecting it to be more soupy/brothy rather than thick and creamy. Overall we enjoyed our meal here, come support this new local business if you're craving some Thai food!

As we were walking towards the…read morerestaurant, I noticed their big glass windows, warm lights, and occupied tables with happy faces making it inviting. We joined their waitlist on their tablet near their counter and we were seated within 5 minutes. Just like the other location in Rowland Heights, it's very busy on a Friday night! The restaurant overall is very clean except near the entrance due to high foot traffic. It's decorated with Chinese lanterns, cherry blossom, and bamboo trees placed in the middle of the restaurant. It almost felt like I was dining at a high end restaurant. It's significantly smaller than the other location, but the high ceilings give it a spacious atmosphere. There are plenty tables and booths. Be aware the booths do move easily when you get out of your seat. We were sat in the booth closest to their entrance which I didn't mind at first, but after a while the high foot traffic was distracting (maybe they could place a divider between the waiting area and the booth). Onto the food, pricing, and service: portion is generous and they are more affordable than the Rowland Height's location. I ordered the Bbq Chicken Fried Rice. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was easy to take off the bone. The fried rice was light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I couldn't finish my plate (even though I wanted to) so I boxed the rest to take home. My husband got the Continental Fried Rice. A dish Banana Bay is well-known for. The chicken skin was crispy, the fried egg was yolky in the center, the sausages were soft, and the fried rice was consistent with my plate's. Service was great and the staff was attentive even during their peak hours. I gained a sense of relief when more than one waitress checked in on us periodically. Overall, my husband and I had a great first impression. We're already talking about coming back in the near future. If you're looking for a Thai spot where you can order a plateful of food at an affordable price, this one is it!

The one huge thing…read morethat made this whole experience extremely horrible and unforgettable was the service, or lack of service for better explanation. And I have strongly feeling, we were discriminated because we were not of Asian ethnicity and because we were Latino. When we sat down it took them about 20 minutes to receive the menus, and another 20 to get water while at the same time every other table was being tended to multiple times. When I would raise my hand for service the "employees" who worked there would just look at me with my raised hand and continue to ignore me. When we ordered our food after almost 30 minutes of just sitting there, this Asian woman who refused to give me her name , came to our table and just took the chili sauce tray from our table and said "I'm going to use this for the other table since you guys don't have food, and I'll bring you one later." I said that was fine since we were still waiting on our food. 20 minutes later passed, and our food comes out. I asked the nice Asian gentleman who brought our food if I can get forks and spoons, since he didn't bring any to us. And he completely ignored me and walked away. So we had to sit there with our food with no utensils and no chili tray. I tried to get the attention of the Asian woman who took our chili tray so we can get one since our food arrived and the same Asian women server completely ignored me the whole time and only attended to her side of the restaurant. I don't understand the whole lack of customer service to people who clearly are not Asian, the ambiance felt off and you could totally feel the discrimination and different kind of treatment received. So after 10 minutes of just waiting for our utensils or for someone to come approach me after I've been flagging them down with my hands, I had to get up and go to the front desk and asked if someone could help us cause everyone is ignoring us. When I said that to the young lady at the front desk, she had someone come out immediately to finally give us utensils and our chili that was removed from our table. Not even 10 minutes after we started eating. A different asian woman waiter, who was not our waiter from earlier approached us and asked us "if you guys need to order more food do it it now cause we are about to close and needs to be ordered to go." I find it ironic that she only came to us to let us know that they were closing soon, but the other patrons who obviously were of Asian orientation were left alone. They brought us our check while we were still eating. It was obvious that they were rushing us out after the dreadful, abysmal, subpar service we received. Never have I been treated differently from the rest of the patrons in a restaurant, and I find it sad because I've been going to Banana Bay in Rowland Heights since 2010 and have NEVER received this kind of service. This will be my last time I support this restaurant and anyone who is Latino or any other different race for that matter, be warned.

The first taste was good, but the more you have the saltier/sweeter it gets. The lime juice didn't lighten things up either. Don't really recommend it. Crab fried rice: there's a good amount of crab and egg in this dish. The rice is on the softer side, it's not dry and hard like most fried rice. We still enjoy it, the texture of the rice didn't kill the flavor of it. The flavor is very balanced, but quite oily. Tom yum seafood soup: There's a good amount of seafood in this soup. The flavor (sweet and sour) is well balanced. Sweet rice with mango: A great dessert option to finish the meal. It is not overly sweet. I'm not a fan of coconut, but the coconut is not distinctly sweet and overwhelming (so I was able to have some). The sweet rice is chewy and warm when served. And the mango is perfectly ripe and sweet. Definitely recommend it. The service was outstanding! The restaurant decoration is very traditional and unique. They are quite busy when we arrived on a Sunday night. I would give this place an overall 3.5/5 because they can definitely work on some of the dishes.
