Half portion of what they NORMALLY serve

For the most part I've ordered here even brought family and friends on several occasions. This time I decided to walk in and order a papaya salad but to my demise when I arrived home I got less than what they USUALLY serve. I guess they must be hurting for money or just skimping out on their portions to customers ordering to go. Make sure to check your orders if they are to go, I won't be ordering or taking my business there anymore.

Went for lunch because it was close to where we were and it got BUSY! We figured we must be in the right place! I got the lunch panang curry which was quite tasty. It came with salad, soup, and a few fried appetizers plus the panang curry with my choice of brown rice. The brown rice was more like a mixed rice which I enjoyed! The panang was good too but this was the first time I had pineapple in my curry. The portion was a good amount for lunch! However, I did see a lot of people ordering the non-lunch menu items. I didn't compare the pricing, but if you want more of the main dishes instead I think that is a fabulous idea. Other friends got the pad Thai, stirfry, sweet-and-sour chicken, good and everyone enjoyed their dishes. The ginger tea was a surprise and that it was almost like the ginger candy flavor. I thought it was just going to be unsweetened ginger tea. Our food all came out at different times, so everyone started eating at different times of the food didn't get cold. Plus the people that came in after I seemed to get their food first, but otherwise everything was great. Overall, recommend!

Stopped in for lunch. Small restaurant. I ordered pork green curry over rice. It came out quickly. The flavor of the sauce was good though the pork seemed to be boiled in the sauce and for too long. Lots of thin green curry with some carrot, peas, pieces of pork, and tough too much bamboo shoots. I missed eggplant which would have been better than bamboo shoots. For what I was served, I consider the price too expensive. Side of rice came with it tasted good.

The plaza where this restaurant is located looks a little run down, but the inside of the restaurant was shockingly nice with great decorations. I got the cashew nut entree with seafood. The dish was so large and came with lots of veggies. The ratio of onions compared to the carrots and celery was a little too much though. The seafood included 4 mussels, 2 scallops, shrimp, fish, and calamari. The seafood was surprisingly tender. The mussels didn't taste the freshest, but were still solid. The scallops were my fave - soft and delicious. The fish was too heavily breaded, so you couldn't taste much of the fish. The broth was light and not too salty. My fiancée got a curry dish, which he loved. Each dish was around $20. Overall a great quality and great value meal!

I called ahead for a takeout order today at 5 pm and they told me it would only be a 10 minute wait. They were very nice on the phone. When I came in, it seemed like casual dining here, and they were kind of busy. I ordered the yellow curry and asked for them to add eggplant to it for me. I also ordered a Thai tea. My order was ready when I arrived. The yellow curry was good, but I do wish the curry was thicker. However, their veggies were cooked nicely. In terms of the Thai tea, I wished it was steeped longer- I didn't think it was strong enough.

Service was mid, did not interact much. Food, not very appealing. Sticky mango rice, which by the way, was 12 dollars, contained too much mango and very little to no rice.

Hands down the BEST Pad Thai in town. I've tried Pad Thai from just about every Thai spot around, and nothing compares to this place. The noodles were perfectly chewy, not sticky or overcooked, and the sauce had that perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and just a little heat. They are super sweet and attentive. Super clean environment.

Easily missed mom found this location for us to try for our Saturday night out meal. As you can see, outside it doesn't look like much but step inside and it's a different story. It like looking through a hole to another world. We started with a yummy Tom Kha. We ordered a small and there was enough for 3 of us! So began our introduction to the large portions that they offer. dad ordered a steak dish that came with the dipping sauce. The dipping sauce was too spicy for him, but the beef was good. Mom and I ordered different versions of pad sei eww. It was good and we each had boxes to take home. A little greasy and the vegetables were Kris, which is good for me but undercooked for mom. Service was good, Overall, we enjoyed it.

I ordered the salmon special with brown rice and it was very good! It was in a sauce of panang curry. I'd like the vegetables weren't overcooked they were crunchy and not mushy. Parking could be pretty tough but coming here at the right time. I don't think they'll be any problems, but I definitely recommend this Thai restaurant. The service and the ambience is perfect !

We wanted to try a new restaurant. Thai Time is small inside, but very good. The service is friendly and efficient. The calamari & fried spring rolls were a great start to our dinner. The fried spring rolls had a lot of cabbage. The calamari was spot on. Both came with a dipping sauce. My friend ordered the spicy noodles with chicken and I had the pineapple curry. My friend likes spicy, but a 4 was a little much for her. Portions and prices are a bonus. I would highly recommend this little spot. Many people were also ordering take out. They also have a lunch menu. We are going to come back for that soon.

Any time is time for Thai Time!! Oh my goodness where do I start. The first time I was there I was having my car worked in at the dealership and walked to Thai Time for lunch while I was waiting. WOW!! I'm a big fan of FRESH Spring Rolls and they did not disappoint. They were not only HUGE but were fresh and fantastic! Deeeeelicious!! I also had the Tom Kah soup. Another WOW!! So flavorful. Lunch was so amazing I asked my husband if we could go there for dinner later in the week...another Great Meal...then the following week we went again. Each time ordering different dishes to try and all of them were fabulous! It is a small place but don't let that deter you from going. Seating is comfortable and their service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend you give them a try. read more

No matter what dish you pick the food is awesomely delicious. From the chicken bbq to the red, green and yellow curry! This is by far the best place to get the best Thai food you want! 100% real Thai food you can have in San Diego county . I ordered this to go and picked up an order of pad sew, spicy fried rice, and the KRA- POW THAI (HOT BASIL THAI STYLE). The food was piping hot and plentiful. If you're looking for great quality food, this is the spot to go to. Also, the restaurant itself looked fairly busy for a Saturday evening dinner. Next time, I'll make sure to take photos! read more

Had a delicious meal here on a weeknight. Green curry was refreshing, pad see iew was so smooth and silky, chicken satay was amazing, tempura veggies were delicious and all portions were generous. Let me start off by saying that Thai food for me is really hit or miss, some places are really good in my opinion, and some places just don't tickle my fancy. I've been to Thai Time several times already to try a handful of things, and let me say, I've never been to a restaurant that has ever wowed me every single time I try something new. You can really tell that whoever is in the back cooking truly has a passion to warm people's hearts with amazing food, the presentation, the service, the taste, the prices, are all superb. Thai Time will remain one of my favorite restaurants and I will always recommend to everyone I know who's looking for something to eat in the area. read more

This place was very peaceful when I went around 3-4 in the afternoon. I was recommended the spicy noodle by the waiter. They can make most of the dishes vegan, in which I made this one vegan. It was good enough for me to go again in the future. Amazing tea! And service was good as well. I would recommended it. read more

My husband and I came here for lunch and tried their lunch special. We had chicken satay, Panang curry and spicy fried rice. Spiciness level is a true 7. The satay was juicy and the peanut sauce was also good. My favorite was the fried rice. Very well seasoned and the portions were big. The panang sauce was good and I can definitely taste the kaffir lime and the spices but I wish they added more chicken to it and less pineapple (I won't ask for any pineapple on my curry next time). The workers are friendly and the service was fast. We also love the feel of the restaurant because it's very Thai with all the ornate Thai decors and background music. My husband and I are definitely coming back. read more

I've come to get Thai food here several times over the past few years. Always good food. My wife likes very little spice and I like much more. We both can get a level we like. Tiny dining area - maybe room for eight, so go with a plan B in case you need it. A minor gripe: drinks have no refills, so plan on tea rather than soft drinks. read more

food is decent but the 2 people at the register were chirping away in thai little did they know that they aren't the only people in the world able to speak the language. I did not know it was rude to ask for straws or napkins it's almost like that's not part of service! did not want to embarrass them and reply back in the native language but oh well, that's my comment for the day! read more

One of the best Thai food restaurants I had in San Diego. Panaan Curry and Hawaiian Fried Rice were very tasty and service was really good too. I followed the attendant recommendation to get the Eggplant Entree and love it. My favorite are the egg rolls and Seafood Tom yum, spice level 8. Soo good! I also get Thai tea with boba, but sometimes the boba is hard. Overall this is a really nice and clean restaurant and the cashiers are very friendly. I recommend this place. read more

New customer who has tried this place two times and both times were AMAZING!! First, the service is impeccable. The first time I ordered from work so it would be ready for my lunch break. It was ready promptly on time and they were quick to greet me and get me back to work so I could eat. I got the pad Thai. It came with a egg roll, salad, and a cream cheese wonton on the side. Great value for the money and absolutely delicious! Tonight I wanted my family to try it so they all picked out something. We got the golden bags, bangcock bowl, spicy noodles, and fried rice. Everyone loved their meals. The spice level was just perfect for us but for those who like less spicy, 5 was HOT! Like runny nose hot. This place is definitely a new favorite! read more

This place is delicious!!!! This was our (daughter and I) first time here, and we will be back! We tried the tofu spring rolls, fish cakes and seafood fried rice. My daughter also had the Thai tea with boba. It was all absolutely great, we enjoyed everything we tried. I definitely would recommend you give this place a try. Yummmm!!! read more

I stopped in today to one of my favorite Thai restaurant to order some dinner and to my surprise the lady that was taking the order did not have any type of mask on and the young lady at the counter that was putting bags together did not have a mascon and through the kitchen opening I could see both cooks and neither of them have mask. I told them that as of May 1 everyone is supposed to be wearing a mask especially people that work in restaurants this is serious and should not be taken lightly. They told me that they just got back from lunch and I forgot. This alarms me that people that work in restaurants could forget such a simple thing. I have been a customer for a very long time and will not go back this alarms me I have no idea if they are practicing any kind of sanitary needs. Once he arrived for our drink order we put in a small food order to test out the quality of proteins. It took 40 minutes to get two hand rolls and one albacore sashimi order. The order took so long to arrive that once it did, we quickly put in a specialty roll order before trying the hand rolls. The specialty roll came out in two minutes flat, I did see a roll sitting on the sushi bar before we ordered. I believe we got someone else's roll because I asked about the long wait times. After the roll was delivered a server came over to our booth specifically to make a snarky comment, he said "you're lucky this was fast, people wait 1 hour for this on Fridays." The restaurant was clean, had a neat wall painting and the parking was free, those are the only positive experiences from our visit. The sashimi was dry as if it had been sitting out not properly stored. Hand rolls were mostly rice, the only protein is what you can see in the pic - gone in one bite of a 4 bite roll. The specialty roll was average. This was a very unpleasant experience, we will not go back and will not recommend to friends/family/yelpers. It should also be noted that we went on a Sunday afternoon and there were 3 sushi chefs behind the counter, 3 servers on the floor and 1 host. Hard to understand why the wait times were excessive and service was poor. Our server did acknowledge that the service was slow, however, he did not offer any apology, he just shrugged it off.

Worst customer service experience I've ever had…read more This was my first and last visit. I clearly explained that I do not eat pork, but my order still contained ingredients I did not request. When I politely asked for it to be corrected, the employee became rude, yelled at me, and told me to leave. My two-year-old daughter started crying because of the yelling. Other customers witnessed the incident. I left feeling embarrassed and disappointed. Customers with dietary restrictions deserve respect and understanding. I will never return to this store.

I love this place. I recently called in an order on my way home from work. I was in a rush and it was near closing time. I wouldn't have been surprised if I had received an unpleasant response when I asked the gentleman if they would have my order ready in 10-15mins. I arrived expecting to have to decide to either wait or just go else where. I was in rush to pick up luggage and catch a flight. Instead I was blown away by the understanding and above all the level of customer service. My order was only ready when I arrived and they were so nice. YUUUUM! This place consistently has great food, though perhaps a bit too salty (and I'm a salt addict, so that means something). We've had just about everything, but our favorites are their eggplant, pad see ew, all curries (green, yellow, red, panang), and tom yom soup. Fairly spicy on the white-people scale (we usually get 2-3 level when we dine with friends to make it edible for them; 5 makes me sweat pretty hard). We almost always get food to go, as we live super close, and the people are always really nice. We don't eat out much, but this is our go-to place when we do. MMM! I don't know why I haven't written a review yet! I love this place! I been eating here for the past 5 years, ever since the new owner, Amy took over. Every time is always better than the last . My favorite dishes are the pad Thai noodle and the red curry! The curry is always think and tasty. But after reading all the negative reviews about the curry making them sick, it just doesn't sound right to me. Their curry is always fresh and steaming hot. No way it could make someone sick. Came here on a little date with my daughter and I can honestly say the people here were super nice and patient as well as helpful and detailed on their menu. Food was amazing very full of flavor and cooked perfectly to our liking. Now the Thai tea was on another level! Big drink definitely worth the price it was delicious and it went so well with the food. OMG, this place is bomb. :) I'm a huge thai food fan and this place exceed my expectations. They care about the food and the customers. I've gone here multiple times and the sweet owner made sure to remember who I am. Everything on the menu is delicious - especially the Thai Time noodles (specialty) and the yellow curry with chicken. Food is always delicious. Sometimes they slack on the spicy levels and also question whether we're sure on the level of spicy. No, PLEASE give us the level we ask for! We come here a lot and the last time, my beef pad see ew noodles lacked all of the spicy and I asked for level 7. Probably one of the best tasting Thai places we've visited in a long time. Our favorite was the spicy catfish. We also ordered the pad thai, pork larb and bbq chicken. We didn't care much for the bbq chicken as they did not use whole skin on chicken. These folks got the spicy scale down pat (scale: 1-10) when we ordered 10, I about fell down in pain. Finally, I have found a good Thai place in El Cajon!!!! We placed an order for pick up and I was estatic to find such a lovely restaurant! As El Cajon is infamous for it's "hole in the wall" restaurants, I shouldn't have been suprised, but was glad that I was. Have eaten here 5 or 6 times over last two years. Consistently good to great flavors, attentive service, generous portions and a very large menu. Parking can be challenging but turn over of parking spaces is fairly high, so be pstient. Rest room is accessible and clean. read more

Dad had sweet and sour chicken which he enjoyed. Vegetarian egg rolls were yummy. Mooshoo chicken delightfully messy and tasty. With respect to pad Thai, perhaps the Chinese version is meant to be different? Very spicy, heavy on noodles, had a lot of green peppers and very little chicken. No nuts. Not a huge fan of this style. But the moo shoo chicken made up for it.

The stuffed chicken wing was coated in panko, fried to a crisp without being greasy, and the filling complemented the crispy exterior. The curry puffs were beautifully wrapped and braided, filled with a delicate mixture of vegetables and curry. Lastly, the hot basil vegetables were perfectly cooked. I ordered a level 1 spice, and I could still feel the heat. The lunch special also came with white rice, a salad, a fried dumpling, and an orange. A complimentary dessert was served--gelatin, fruit, coconut milk (I think), and ice. It was a nice way to end a hot, spicy meal on a warm July day. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and the service was attentive and quick. Our water glasses were refilled without asking, and the bill was brought promptly. An excellent Thai restaurant in La Mesa where hospitality, delicious food, and humility meet.
