My New Go To Thai Place I love Thai food. I had heard about this place. It's on the way to Precious' job so one day after work we stopped in there. It's in an older shopping center that includes a Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a McD's and I think a karate place is in there too. But when you walk in the door of Thai Tyme, it's a very, very nice sit-down restaurant. They have the seating and the kitchen in the back obviously. Right near the door is a bar. It's a full bar. You can get anything you want there. They have beers. A lot of Thai places like to have Thai beer. I've had lagers from all over Thai, Jamaican mon, China, Brazil, it's all pretty much the same. They also have, and this surprised me, a Brazilian drink called caipirinha. It means in Portuguese "little country girl" or "country bumpkin". I love caipirinhas. During the world cup in 2014 I got stoned to the bejesus every game drinking caipirinhas. Rock my world little country girl. Anyways, the food outstanding. What more can I say. The wait staff is very professional and friendly. The owner is a cool guy, and he'll make the rounds and talk to people. Precious goes through phases. About ten years ago she wanted Thai food once a week. Now it's about once a quarter, but with this nice place there I'm going to want to go more often. read more

We have been here twice.. the 1st time, the food was average and a little pricier for Asian food but with limited Asian food options, we decided to give it another try. Big mistake. We ordered delivery and they were over an hour late. When we called to ask for a status update, the guy said we had to pickup (even though we paid for delivery fee and tip in advanced). First let me say something a bit strange to start a review but I think it's important. The establishment is spotlessly immaculate. We both started with a trip to the bathroom and speaking for the men's bathroom it was spotless. It smelled clean, the floor was clean, and the sink and fixtures were shiny. We were both impressed. But we don't visit a restaurant for the facilities and so.... We started out meal sharing an order of chicken satay. The chicken was well prepared and juicy and the sauce didn't have a big, strong peanut flavor but subtle along with mildly tangy sweetness. It also came with cucumber and sweet onions type condiment in a sugary vinegar liquid. A really nice start. For the main course I had crispy duck and she had crispy beef. Both were delicious. The duck was served at a medium heat... spicy but not too spicy... with a hint of sweetness. The beef was simply crispy beef without spice. Both the duck and the beef were VERY lightly beaded and then crisped. Both are served over a bed of crispy veggies. Not to ignore the staff, everyone was friendly, attentive, and very willing to address any question we had along with any of our needs. All in all we were both extremely pleased with our first visit and will most certainly return again soon to explore more of their menu. If you, like we, are looking for a new dining experience I can easily recommend you try them out. read more

WOW! I stopped in here for lunch and was blown away by everything! The dining room was really well decorated. It felt very homey and rustic. Definitely not what I expected when I walked in but it worked. The service is was speedy and the food was delicious. The Tom Kha soup was delicious. So was the the pad Thai. I've eaten at some of the best Thai places in San Francisco, The Bay Area and surprising in Flagstaff Arizona and realize how lucky one is to find a really good one. Mediocrity seems to be the rule and i'm okay with the average fair. This place however was beyond the pale and potentially put my health at risk. The dish, Pad Woodsen, i ordered for lunch today was horrible. It was obvious the Wok my dish was cooked in was much too hot and burnt the oils and sauces it was cooked in. After a small taste (the smell was atrocious) this was confirmed and I requested the dish be redone however it was even worse the second time around causing me to spit out and rinse my mouth from the water in my glass. I was there with a colleague from work and they took my order off the bill but that is not the point, It's my health! It is so disrespectful and egregious serving potentially dangerous food to trusting and unsuspecting customers. How can one be sure it was even cooking oil or trust them with their health? Whom ever was the cook for my dish is not qualified, or worse, to be in any kitchen! I may still yet report this place to the health department. Here is a blurb about the possible harm of cooking and eating while burning or using burnt oils and such. Beware! "When an oil is heated past its smoke point, it generates toxic fumes and free radicals which are extremely harmful to your body. When the smoke point is reached, you'll begin to see the gaseous vapors from heating, a marker that the oil has started to decompose. Decomposition involves chemical changes that not only negatively affect the food's flavor and nutritional value, but also create cancer-causing compounds that are harmful when consumed and/or inhaled. I was in the mood for Thai food and found Thai Tyme on Uber Eats. I ordered the papaya salad and chicken panang. The papaya salad had the perfect balance of spice and citrus!! The panang was also super comforting. It's a little on the sweet side, which I like. If you like more of a kick, I would ask. I will definitely order again! read more

I enjoy eating at Thai Tyme when the good chef is in the kitchen. There have been a couple of occasions when someone different is cooking and the food isn't as spicy. I like spice and onion straws on top of my basil fried rice. The ambiance is cozy and the service is always good. read more

Please save yourself from ordering here! I read mixed reviews so I decided to give it a try. I love Thai and eat it a lot. This was my first time ordering from here because I am recovering from back surgery at a family member's house. This was hands down the worst Asian food I've ever had. Portions were not an issue like I read in other reviews, but the food was awful. The spring rolls tasted like they put an entire black pepper shaker in them. I ordered the Pad se ew for me and my daughter, and it was so bad I couldn't swallow the bite I took. My daughter could not either. There was no sweetness at all like people have mentioned. It was bitter, and the chicken tasted old. I had a side of fried rice as well, and it strangely tasted like fish. This place is so cute!! My mother and I were excited to try it out so we stopped by around 6pm a Saturday. There weren't many others dining in, however they seemed to be doing a steady take-out business. If I'm being nice, I suppose that affected our experience because the service was surprisingly slow and kind of awkward. The ambiance was also a bit off because the music kept cutting out between pop hits and complete silence... hopefully that's been addressed :) Anyway, the food was pretty good. We split an order of the fried chive dumplings; these were OK but not what we expected... they turned out to be fried cubes (no dumpling skin? what do I know) that were really mushy on the inside. For our mains we got chicken pad curry and tofu raad na. The flavors on these were yummy as expected, though I expected more egg on my pad curry based on experiences at other thai places. I have ordered delivery from this restaurant a dozens times and always had a great experience! I love Thai food and enjoy all the dishes. It's down the street from my home and my fav quick Thai fix. I actually picked up my food the other day and was surprised by the atmosphere! The set up is so cute with the bar and modern decor. Absolutely amazing food! My boyfriend and I order food from there all the time and every time it's amazing. The first time We went to the restaurant was a few days ago and I just want to say it is the absolute cutest! It reminds me of a little farm house and I love that style more than anything. I got the chicken pad Thai and a Thai tea and it was literally heaven. Better than when we order delivery and that's always amazing every time. Food is nothing special and I feel like servings were pretty small for the price. I don't even remember anything from what we ordered and my husband ordered a lot for a party of 5. Thai taste along Sudley has been our go-to spot in the area and will still be. Even Mum Mum is a better option than this place. It is not a bad place but they do not offer anything that stands out and other places like Thai Taste or Mum Mum serve better tasting Thai food. Stoppped in for lunch after hitting the habitat for humanity restore and was pretty pleased. I liked they accommodated my special order for my garden rolls. The rolls were fresh and pretty tasty. I also had the eggplant dish with tofu and chicken. It was a large serving with just enough heat to give it good flavor and make you sniffle a bit. The service was good and the ambience was chill. I had no idea this place was here! I was looking around on Yelp and there it popped! My fiance and I stopped in one night for a quick dinner. The ambiance is lovely. It has a modern feel with a down home vibe... and super comfy chairs. We had the duck rolls to start, they were delicious and flavorful, the duck wasn't dry and it had just the right amount of hoisin sauce without making it too sweet. I had the Pad Woosen, rice noodles with veggies in a soy based sauce. It was delicious. Perfect ratio of noodles and veggies and the portion was enough to have lunch the following day. My fiance was a bit more adventurous and ordered the goat curry. The flavor was fantastic but the goat was really dried out and was a bit more like eating jerky. None the less, he finished it all. We've ordered takeout from there a few times as well. The salads and panang curry we've ordered have rivaled some of the highest rated Thai restaurants in DC. The staff is delightful and you can tell that they are passionate about their restaurant and their recipes. I am so glad we've found this place and have easily added it into our rotation of take out and dining in spots. read more
