Another pleasant surprise. We were on the way back to LA through Solvang, it was getting late so we wanted somewhere along 101 for dinner quickly. Wanted something Asian and found this Thai place with decent score. Again we didn't have too much expectation given the demographic of this location, but were we wrong about the quality of the food!!!!!!!!! We got pan fried thick rice noodle for the kids and while it looks pale (maybe can use a bit more soy sauce), it tasted wonderfully!!!!!!!! My wife got the pineapple fried rice, it very well made and tasty, with very generous amount of ingredients (usually you see more rice than ingredients but that was not the case). I had the Penang curry, it was sooooo flavorful (rich smooth coconut smell)! Service was very good too, servers checked on us regularly to make sure we were happy. This was the first time we ventured out to a Thai place in the Nipomo area, but the reviews were very good and with many positive mentions about Panang Curry, we were intrigued. While the place is located in a strip mall corner, the interior is actually very nice.I was surprised that the big open room was pretty quiet too--there was even a 20 person graduation lunch party right in the middle of the room and we still enjoyed what I would term as a quiet nice lunch where we could converse easily and not feel like we were being intruded on.... The staff is super friendly and said we could even ask for dishes that were not listed on the menu. Being big fans of Nam Sod, a crumbled pork dish marinated in lime juice, that was pretty cool. We had already planned on ordering right off the menu, but made a mental note for next time. We did order a growler of THAI beer on draft, and that was awesome for $21!!! It easily gave our group 6-8 ice cold beers for the money--a great value. I saw deals on lunch specials but as it was the weekend, we didn't get that option. Not a complaint but something to note, if you are looking for the $8 lunch specials others mention, do it on a weekday. The panang curry was good, as was the pad see yew noodle dish, but I would have liked more veggies and ingredients in both dishes. I felt they were really tasty, but could have been more robust. We also asked for no green peppers, since they disagree with me, and they were still in the sauce, but I was able to work around them. Just wished they had remembered the exclusion. We will definitely go back when in the area. They are also building out a covered patio outside, which would be great, especially if our dog could join us on the patio. Ordered the Dumpling (veggie) soup with tofu. I was surprised at how much tofu was in my soup. I think the soup could have used more veggie dumplings. If you like spicy soups you will definitely need to add hot sauce because this soup wasn't spicy at all. Looking forward to having this soup again soon. read more

At first I was bummed because this restaurant replaced one of my favorite restaurants in the area called Antonios but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was being taken over by a Thai food restaurant. After living in Seattle for seven years I know good Thai food when I find it and let me tell you this place is a strong contender. First of all they started us out with a warm cabbage salad with a peanut type sauce on it which was delicious. Also I had the Phad Thai which was really good and tasted like it was freshly made, They probably have one of the best parang curries that I have had in a really long time. Not only was it delicious but it was payed out in a very attractive and aesthetically pleasing way. The customer service was pretty good but I definitely give them some grace for being a brand new restaurant. The staff was really friendly. And the price was very reasonable. Only $8 for lunch. This is a new Restaurant in Nipomo. The food here was excellent maybe worth 5 stars. The meat is freshly grilled and the spices are flavorful. The service here is another store, it was very slow and they were only moderately busy. We had to ask for everything including the check and boxes. If they can improve their service they would be worthy of a 5 star review. After a second visit the service had improved so I am raising the rating to 4 stars read more

Thai BBQ chicken was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had! Wait staff could use help. Service was slow and not aware of menu changes. Hate to see service if restaurant was busier. I understand this place is new, but they didn't have any beverages besides beer, water and cheap wine. The food was overly spicy with no real flavor, the service was struggling and to be completely honest, the whole place smelled like old meat. Thai Villa - Food so good, it was gone before we knew it - Thai Near Me - Nipomo, California

Having just moved here from "The Crush" (L.A./O.C. area) a couple of weeks ago, we have already had take-out from Thai Villa twice. This is a good indicator as to how good the food here is. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is my understanding that the outdoor patio in front is dog-friendly...a major plus! On each occasion, we had ordered a few different items from their menu, in order to get a really good sampling of as many of their dishes as we can. Thus far, we have tried 2 different rice dishes, the massaman curry, the lamb curry, the pad see yew and the cashew chicken. The very best thing about their meat dishes here is that they are certainly not stingy with the meat...all of the meat dishes have been chock-full of large, tasty chunks of lamb, chicken or beef. The veggies have been well-cooked and also comes in huge pieces. The curries and sauces are delicious. For my wife and other family members, Thai food is not eaten as it should be. Most everything must be made 'baby-mild'. Luckily, Thai Villa has several wonderfully hot and spicy, tasty sauces, and they provide, at your request, all that you might need...and I need a LOT!! I only have one small complaint, however. If I order a rice and steamed veggie dish, I wish there might be a somewhat larger quantity of veggies, as these would not be terribly expensive or troublesome. Went in for lunch today based on yelp reviews. Saw that one of the specials on the chalk board was lamb shank so I ordered it (no price posted on board). It was way too sweet. I could not finish it and nor did I want to take the rest home; sickeningly sweet. Then comes the check at $29.00 for lunch that was so sweet it was inedible.
