I picked up my food and was greeted by a very nice waiter. He directed me to the desk where I was asked by a woman how I ordered. She was abrupt, I patient and rude. I got over it and left. I got home and was missing an item in my order. I was very hungry and disappointed and called in for a refund. I was told that she did not know how to do that since I ordered via DoorDash. I have no DoorDash account and ordered by clicking on their website. I clicked the link from my order receipt and was informed to call the restaurant. Needless to say I have not received my refund, no apologies and arise experience. In addition the food was terrible. We normally order at a place in downtown AG but they are closed on Mondays. This food was more expensive, very bland and with the missing item a horrible experience with rude staff, who appeared to be in charge and possibly the owner. Our first time in Pismo and as always I needed my Thai food! With this place being a 4 Star I figured it would be good place. We had potstickers, Pad prik khing and stir fry vegetables and rice. 2 Main entrees were good, potstickers were just OK. Service could have been better. I feel as if the waiter was to busy trying to clean up before her shift ends so she can leave instead of even comin by to ask if we needed anything . I get it you're closing in 30 minutes. But to mainly focus on you closing vs your customers? Eh ....however I think either he was a busser or a host he refilled our drinks for us when asked and that was very nice of him. Second time having dinner here last night. We were going to go to North China but it was closed because it was New Years. Thank God this place was open! We got the Tom Kha with tofu for an appetizer and there was ample amount for the five of us. I thought about getting the papaya salad as well (got it last time and everyone loved it) but glad we didn't because we had more than enough food in the end. We shared 3 entrees between the five of us. Portions are really big here and its perfect to share. I went there ravenous and left stuffed to the gills. Shared the pumpkin curry with shrimp with my boyfriend. Got a bowl of brown rice for the table. They have all sorts of different rice here (sticky, garlic, sirarcha) which all sounded really good. We also had sautéed veggies with calamari and the sauce they use is so good! It didn't sound that appetizing when his grandma ordered it but it was bomb. We also got tea (served in individual glass mugs). I got the hot sake and the sake the use here is pretty harsh. Must be pretty cheap sake which I am not a fan of. Their coconut sake cocktail sounds really good though and wish I got that instead because I was not able to finish the hot sake. Service is good here. Two young guys working while the owner sat at one of the dining tables. Large parking lot with plenty of parking. I have eaten at lots of Thai Restarants. None of them are even close to this place ! The pot stickers are awesome and the Calamari is the best I've ever had. We went tonight for a late Valentine dinner. I had pineapple curry with Scallops and hubby had same but with shrimp! Both were fabulous ! It's obvious the food and veggies are all fresh! We had a drink each, 2 appetizers and our meal for $77! Can't beat that ! ( the wine list not so great, just FYI! You may wanna bring your own! read more

Simply the best Thai food we had in a while. The veg spring rolls were really awesome and artistically presented. Panang curry was great too although could have used a bit more veggies. After wine tasting for 2 days in Paso Robles around New Year's, we drove down to Nipomo and decided to try Thai Villa for lunch. Glad we did. - Exterior: Pleasant. The restaurant is at the Tefft Street end of a small group of stores, so it's easily seen from the street. There's nothing extraordinary about it, but I'm sure the landlord had a hand in that. One thing which caught our eye: The sign "Thai Villa" appeared to be temporary, but the name stood out in block letters because we noticed it while driving by. - Dining Room: Also pleasant. Colors were attractive, yet subdued. Tables were spaced enough for reasonable conversation. Chairs study, but comfortable. The large windows looking onto Tefft ( and a parking lot on the side ) brought in lots of natural light. Ceiling was fairly high so even if the air or food got a bit toasty, the warmer air had room to rise. During our visit, the back door was open and a nice breeze blew into the place. - Menu: Varied and flexible. Thai Villa has many of the standard items you'd find in a similar restaurant. But what set it apart for us was the ability for each person to add several other components, such as beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables to a dish. Customizing a salad or one of many entrees is a nice touch. - Food: Very good. The 4 of us are fans of Thai food and thought the quality of our dishes were just about as good as what we receive in our hometowns ( San Jose and Palm Desert ). We ordered a sampling of several entrees and gave a thumbs up to everything. The Pad Thai got a special thumb. It might not qualify as gourmet, but the food was flavorful, filling and left us feeling very satisfied. Oh, and the portions were "hungry man/woman size". - Liquor List: Small, but interesting. There weren't a ton of choices for beer or wine, though it seemed someone made the selections carefully. I was tempted to get one of 3 draft beers, but I had a lot of driving ahead of me. - Noise: Manageable. Thai Villa was about 25% occupied during our meal ( 2 PM on a Saturday ), so it's tough to say what it's like at a more crowded time, but we had no problem. - Service: Fine. I would almost say "gracious" because the young woman serving our table ( and a few others ) was very friendly, helpful and had a nice calmness about her. Everything was handled promptly and she accommodated a request to slightly alter a dish. She deserved and got a 20% tip. - Price and Value: Excellent. Of course it depends on your point of reference. To us, we'd expect to pay 25% more for the same quality and quantity. But who's complaining! - Parking: Sufficient. There's were plenty of spaces perpendicular to the stores and shops during an early to mid Saturday afternoon. - Restrooms: Good size. Both the men's and women's rooms were down a hall behind the kitchen. The men's was fairly clean with lots of room, although I'd recommend a more frequent check on conditions. Overall, Thai Villa gave us some good reasons to visit again when we're in the Nipomo area. read more

Their curries delish, service wonderful, we love this place. Local wine list that rivals most wine bars with a respect to even name the winemaker on the menu. There are 2 things though here that make us come back... The BBQ chicken - seriously consistently amazing. Moist, flavorful, the boyfriend can't stop ordering it. The other thing is the music playlist. Mellow lounge music that's all remakes of 80's english beats and hip hop... We are constantly trying to get the tune while we giggle and enjoy our meal. Go... On March 4, 2019, we stopped in for dinner. There is a large shared parking lot. Upon entering we were promptly greeted, shown into a table, and given menus. The restaurant is extremely clean. With so many items on the menu to choose from we want with the sate chicken, fried spring rolls, garlic pepper beef, and pralam chicken. The appetizer and entrées were absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, and liked the price/portion ratio too. We look forward to returning. read more

This place is SO over priced! When I was waiting for my food I saw tons of tiny bugs crawling everywhere! They have puzzles on the table and they break with the slightest touch. When I picked it up it fell apart LOUDLY , which was so embarrassing to me. If I wanted to be the center of attention I'd be down at the rhino! Anyways putting the puzzle back together was very easy. When I got my food they said it doesn't come with rice which is nonsense for the price they have these items at but they gave me some for free hence why I put two stars instead of one. Starters: Fried Calamari - generous pieces of calamari fried to a golden perfection. The dipping sauce just added a sweet spicy kick and the flavors mixed so well together. Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) - MUST ORDER. It came in a fire hot pot filled with generous pieces of chicken breast, mushrooms, veggies and Thai herbs. So creamy & coconut-ty, spicy & tangy- so delicious! Satay chicken - a staple to all Thai restaurants. Also a must order. Mains: Spicy fried rice with crispy pork - spicy, buttery-crispy pork rinds, aromatic basil leaves stir fried with rice. Bbq chicken - marinated bbq half chicken was so tender. This dish was a huge hit at our table and was gone so quick. Pad prik king chicken - spicy green beans and white meat chicken stir fried with a spicy & sweet chili paste. This is the only Thai in Nipomo & sad to say the food is horrible. We've been there four times and each time it got worse. From ok to that's it we're not coming back. Located just before the Nipomo post office while driving west, Thai Villa has an menu others would envy. They have Geranios portions and fresh, flavorful food. You can add a selection of chicken, pork, beef, prawns and scallops to any dish. I chose a generous pour of Santa Ynez Valley Rusack Sauvignon Blanc, one of the best I've tasted, to accompany my Cashew Nut vegetable entree with numerous scallops. Of course I'll go back. I was so excited to see a Thai restaurant close by when I moved to Nipomo a year ago. Had several good food experiences until last week. On 3/24/22 I tried to order takeout on my way home from North County. They answered the phone, asked if I would hold for a moment, and then laid the phone on the counter - where it stayed, on an open line, for the next 15 minutes. I refused to hang up because I wanted to see how long they would leave me there, listening to them wait on other customers. I finally hung up when it hit the quarter hour mark. I gave them another chance tonight and they did the exact same thing. Left the phone on the counter for 13 minutes. I actually drove to the restaurant, phone in my hand, listening to them package orders and wait on other customers. Just as I walked in the door, they hung up on me and took another call. I was sweetly approached by a young man asking if I was there to pick up an order. I explained I had been on hold, trying to place an order, for 13 minutes. "Oh, sorry. Would you like to place an order now?" I did not, and will not, ever again. It's too bad. Their food is really good, and their employees are always polite, but their service sucks. Given that they are the only decent restaurant in town (besides Jocko's, if you're into big cuts of beef) they are always busy. That's probably why they think they can get away with treating customers this way. Eventually, people will stop calling. They've certainly received their last call from me and, when asked, I will absolutely share my poor experiences. read more

First time at the Thai Villa, and not our last. The decor is very nice and very clean. The server was very helpful and attentive. He recommended a noodle dish, can't remember the name, and it was excellent. I ordered medium spice, which was just right. My wife ordered Pad Thai noodles, which she loved. I tried hers and liked it very much, not overpowering peanut flavor. Of course they bring the little containers of spices, which I have to add. I was cooking by the time I finished! 805 on draft thank you. We ordered a spring roll that is not on the lunch menu. It was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Always have great food here. Alex, the owner, always checks in to make sure everything is delicious and up to snuff. Having actually been to Thailand, I think their food is pretty darn good. I only reccomend not ordering scallops, anytime I do I only get 3 maybe 4 scallops in my curry. Ordering extra costs you a pretty penny and the one time we did only got 2 extra scallops. When I opened the container of Mango Salad expecting to find the usual large portion of shredded mango and six perfectly cooked shrimp bathed in the tasty garlic lime dressing, I thought for sure my roommate ate half of it on the way home! After assuring me he had not in fact snitched my dinner, he went back to the restaurant to find out what was going on. The owner was/is the chef on Sunday and sometimes during the week nights. She was abrupt, rude, unapologetic, and treated a paying customer in an unacceptable manner. She told him that the portion size was correct. She did begrudgingly put a teeny tiny bit more mango in the same to go container. When all was said and done, it was a horrible experience. The salad was stale, wilted and small. It went right in to the trash can! After discovering why the huge difference in food quality and quantity. I can truly say I love this little gem of a Thai restaurant. The food really is good. The waiters are absolutely wonderful. The portions are enough for two or three meals depending on appetite. But not on Sundays! Go at lunch. If you can't go at lunch, go to Pismo. Or, be prepared to roll the culinary dice. The prices are reasonable too. Unless of course you roll the owner as your chef. I ask who is chef now. Food was good... my two stars are for customer service... the place wasnt too packed when we arrived, there was no wait, we were seated immediately... it took our waiter about 10min to come and ask if we wanted anything to drink, when they arrived w the drinks, we ordered food .... The table that was seat more than 10 min after us, got a plate of food before we did It took more than 45min to get ours first plate. We then asked them to put that plate and the remaining food it in to go containers. I was bothered that w more than 4 ppl working not one came over and said, hey, sorry it's gonna be a bit, we're backed up or whatever reason they had for slow service. My husband and I were visiting my in-laws in Nipomo and went to Thai Villa for a birthday celebration. We absolutely were blown away. The food was amazing! We had just moved away from Seattle, and figured the Thai food in a small central coast community like Nipomo couldn't be as good as what we were accustomed to getting, but boy were we wrong! Not only was it the best Thai food we've ever had, it was the probably the best meal we've ever had, period! The Tom Ka soup and Pad Kee Mao were divine, and the coconut we had for dessert still haunts my dreams. The service was fantastic. Our servers were Alex and Jessica, and they were exceptional. The owner was young, but very eager to please. The decor was fresh and inviting, yet not overdone. The food on this particular day was excellent.
