    Phad See Ew

So delicious, I got the pad see ew. Flavorful and for as much as you get it's definitely worth $14. You also get to choose your choice of meat and spice level The lady behind the counter was very nice and served me with a smile, I felt so welcomed. The place is very cute and I got my food under 5 minutes. Definitely will come back again!

I order their Pad Thai and Crab Rangoons almost weekly and it never disappoints. The peanut sauce is always amazing also. I also enjoy their Thai iced tea & pad Thai 2.0 Great portions, prices & flavor!

Okay wow. This may very well be in my top 3 best curries that I've ever had, and I have had a LOT of Thai food as it is one of my favorite cuisines. It was the perfect consistency, the red curry flavor itself was 10/10, the portion was huge, and there was an abundance of content in the curry. I ordered the crazy hot spice level and it was perfect for my liking. Plus, the husband and wife are so incredibly friendly, and the interior is cute and cozy. Will definitely be back!

Thailander is a little restaurant in the old Java Mama space, tucked between Petsmart and Mio Sushi. It is in a busy shopping center and the parking is terrible. There are about ten tables and the kitchen is open so you can see and hear the cooks banging pots around. It is worth the headache of braving the lot. They serve some jazzed up Thai dishes, interesting lunch combinations, the service is friendly, and it is pretty typical in terms of price. My teen gives the Angel rolls ( tofu salad rolls served with a good peanut sauce) and the Thai iced tea a big heck yes endorsement. The Pad Thai, Yellow Curry with tofu (no onions or peppers for my kiddo) and Chicken Satay also scored big points. I have enjoyed their various curries and noodle dishes. One time I was sick and a bowl of wonton soup and an icy mango juice did the trick. Also the crispy chicken nugget things are pretty good. They offer 4 spice levels, medium spice is perfect for me. I wasn't sure about the napa cabbage in my Pad see ew and the Tom Kha soup seemed off and was a little too different for me. Some of their special smashups ( pad Thai burrito anyone?, fries with shrimp and Thai flavors piled on top??) and unique flavors can be interesting and a fun change. Takeout is easy and you can order through a couple delivery services too. Give it a try!!

Environment: lots of Thailand-themed things as well as western-cultures were fused into it. I mean, Spiderman making noodles haaa. Anyways, the kitchen was half open and there were seats/tables for 2-4 people or so in an L shape. So, it was a little crowded as the restaurant was small. Server: he was BUSY. one person serving and doing everything in the front and I think one main chef and someone in the back prepping. Either way, busy but over all nice. Food: I always try to eat something "normal" or "common" if it's my first time going. I got pad thai noodles with tofu for $9 (lunch menu). Portion was okay. They gave me lots of fried tofu. The noodles were mushy and yet...hard to chew? How do I say it...maybe the sauce was mushy and thick and then the noodles were hard to bite and were suppper long. The sauce was too sweet for me. Their lunch menu had lots of things to choose from. If I do go back, I'd like to try their curry.

If I lived closer, I would absolutely return for more occasions, big and small, especially to take advantage of their happy hour. This is a family run business. Owner Chinh is the steak master and owner Helen crafts the drinks. You'll see their daughters taking orders and making social media videos too. We ordered the specialty steak available that evening. The center was perfectly cooked and the flavor was great. We also tried the tofu with rice, which had outstanding flavor, so you don't have to go with meat when you're here. The owner Helen's home made chili oil was a bit too spicy for me but my partner loved it. Oh -- I also did get the lemongrass steak bites to go, as they're a must-try but I wouldn't have had room for them. They prepared them rare so when re-heated at home they were perfect. Don't skip the drinks - whether you're into a cocktail or a mocktails, they're creative and delicious. Desserts also stood out, as both the affogato and tiramisu used Vietnamese coffee. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and hospitality!

I'm giving a fourth star because the guy at the counter is always welcoming. The place is located within a busy Fred Meyer shopping area. So parking can be a bit busy, especially during lunch hours. There's Pho Tango restaurant, a nail salon, and a UPS store all sharing the lot. Inside dining is simple. Mostly tables for two or four. Clean table tops with the times I've dined-in. So no issues with service or dining. Regarding the gyros, they've got lots to choose from on the menu (and up on the menu board). I've tried their Lamb Gyro and Chicken Gyro for $11.99, as well as their Combo Gyro with chicken and beef for $13.99. I do love the fact that the pita bread is nice and warm, and the toppings were flavorful. But I feel the gyro slices are a bit small, not your typical long juicy strips. More like slivered shawarma cuts. I've also tried the Double Meat over Rice ($16.99) which consists of the chicken and lamb cuts, hummus, tzatziki, a little bit of lettuce, tomatoes, all on top of rice, with that warm pita bread included. Honestly, I thought this plate would blow me away, but it didn't. I mean their sauces were good, but I feel it needed a spicy kick to it.. Overall, Monte Gyro is a great little spot for lunch. Plenty of items to choose from on the menu and at reasonable prices. Dining is typical and service is exceptional. I'll likely be back in support of this local mom'n'pop shop.

Their beer lineup is solid with plenty of Three Mugs brews, and they also offer kombucha, cider, and at least one wine option, so there's something for everyone. I especially love that they showcase local artists' work throughout the space, and the outdoor seating area is perfect on warm, sunny days. Whether you want to grab a table or sit right up at the bar, it's an all-around great place to hang out. Cheers to the new location!
