The food pricing and options here are good, BUT I witnessed a severe food safety violation that ruined my appetite. While waiting for my order, I watched an older employee actively eating fruit behind the counter, spitting pits into her bare hand, and then using that exact same ungloved hand to grab different tofu flavors that I ordered and place them into my containers. The younger employee had gloves on, but she unfortunately wasn't the one helping me. Bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat food after handling saliva is a major health code violation. I tried a piece of tofu, but I was so deeply uncomfortable and grossed out that I couldn't even taste it. I was fully expecting to leave a great review because I had such high expectations for this place, but I left completely disappointed. I'm honestly so sad because I LOVE trying different tofu spots, but this is the only one I've had a bad experience with. I will definitely go somewhere else next time...

The bad reviews are just kinda dumb - don't let them deter you from coming here. I must say though the parking lot sitch is not that great, so be creative. Or patient. You line up and order by dollar amount. $3 for a small styrofoam. $5 for a bigger styrofoam. I love their mushroom tofu. They're pretty meaty with bits of wood ear mushroom. I also love the lemongrass collab. Both are delicious on their own or dunked into any sort of fish sauce. I'd recommend air frying them to get a nice, crispy exterior. Honestly, tofu is such an incredible meat substitute. It's packed full of protein and they're so hearty, you won't even miss meat. The tofu at Thanh Son Tofu is top tier. Highly recommend.

Thanh Son Tofu I've been here many times because I really like the tofu, it's always served hot and fresh. One big plus is that they don't charge for plastic bags. Even though nowadays, wherever you go, you're charged a bag fee, which honestly feels unreasonable. The shop isn't very big, but it's always busy. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is lively and pleasant, never uncomfortable. The place is clean, and they clearly specialize in tofu. Parking is a bit limited and can be difficult. This place is a hot mess. I do not recommend coming on a weekend. First the parking situation is atrocious you will be waiting on the street trying to turn in, 2nd the parking lines are so small you will be squeezing out of your car to get to the store (just climb the sunroof if you have one), 3rd the line will be out the door and unfortunately there's always solicitors begging outside, 4th the service is so messy... imagine the line is chipotle style ordering with only 1 cashier and 1 server per person except everyone's ordering like 20+ items. You will be waiting so expect a wait and nothing less. Be kind and patient everyone is working as hard and fast as they can in the chaos. The pay off is worth it. The only thing they have going for them is they make delicious tofu it's a niche market and they do it the best. The mushroom tofu period if there's one thing you get, GET THE MUSHROOM TOFU. It's perfect hand held and chewable pieces so flavorful if you get a fresh batch you're so lucky eat it right away when you get into the car you won't regret it is so moist inside yet crispy from being fried and chewy from the mushrooms. 11/10 in my heart. If you want to be adventurous try the other tofus but the one and only one I always come back to is the mushroom tofu. They have pretty good fried banana too but it's not always consistent. My husband likes the green onion tofu and I support him so I buy it too it's good but nothing compared to the mushroom tofu. Their soy pudding and sweetened soy milk are solid too but when I go here I only crave the mushroom tofu it's the only thing on my mind.

More of a 3 1/2 stars I absolutely love their onion fried tofu and fried banana. Those I would rate 10/10. A small box of tofu is $3. You know it's a local favorite when there's always a line. The only reason this wouldn't be a 4/5 stars is the service. If you're not vietnamese, you most likely won't know what any of the food behind the glass is. The workers are kinda rude so it's uncomfortable asking for anything and it just makes a hostile environment for all the customers.. I was behind a lady who said she wanted 2 of the fried banana and the worker behind the glass was screaming how many?!? like 3 times... I know theres a long line and they have to get through all the customers but some patience would be nice BUT you know what, their food is good and that's what we're all here for. ‍ my advice would be to know that you want to order BEFORE you go! Highly recommend the onion fried tofu.

A Vietnamese snack shop that specializes in Tofu! They also sell specialty Asian fruits, desserts, drinks, (steamed rice rolls) banh cuon. We got some of their popular items: Fresh fried tofu, Soy Milk, Soybean Pudding (with ginger syrup) to name a few. If you are a fan of tofu you'll like it here. Cash and Credit Card accepted. Service is efficient. Private Parking lot available right in front.

Still one of my favorite places to get fresh fried tofu. You have to get the mushroom and noodles inside the fried tofu. Those are the best. They make them fresh hourly. Parking is tough here and the line can get long. They also have decent desserts. Customer service is whatever but you're not coming here to dine in. Their fried bananas are good too. It's a fast service place so do not expect ambience or date night kinda of spot.

Came here for their fried bananas. Really extra greasy. Greasier than the other places. The banana/plantains they used were also not that good. It was plain and bland not sweet. The staff were however very helpful and nice. This quick spot to get togo has a high turnover as far as food so that means the food is fresh quality. They sell fruits, snacks, desserts, drinks, house made items, etc.

They have a variety of tofu dishes, tofu puddings and cake, hot or cold soymilk, coffee, tea, flan, spring rolls, and desserts, ready to order or that have been prepared where you can choose. We picked up flan, Vietnamese and Thai desserts (they can add ice for you) and a couple of vegetarian items to go. They were sold out of the pandan soy milk :( Parking can be scarce in the front but we got lucky as it was early evening.

Stopped by this unassuming Vietnamese take out place not knowing what to expect. It seems like the focus of the shop is mainly vegetarian/tofu, but I did see a few shrimp products in there. This is a take out place that offers a variety of appetizers, desserts, fried items and soy milk drinks (Thai milktea, matcha and pandan milk tea, etc). The women working there were friendly, but spoke very limited English, so I found it quite difficult to navigate this store. They have a lot of fried tofu and other fried products where they sell by weight and by piece. There are no prices, so it was kind of difficult to figure out what each item was and costs. In the end, I ordered a few random things that looked interesting: -Pandan soy milk 5/5 - this was so good and the pandan flavor was really strong -pandan sponge cake 4/5 - really tasty and love the spongey texture, also nice pandan flavor - fried tofu 2/5 - in the display case, too oily for my taste and inside was more air than tofu - mung bean rice ball 5/5 - not sure what else was in there but found it really tasty - fried spring rolls 1/5 - horrible, greasy and I don't even know if there was anything inside the spring roll lol While some items were hit or miss, it was a fun experience being able to try these unique items I've never seen before. I would come back if I were in the area again, but would recommend bringing a Vietnamese friend to help translate.

I love this tofu store. they have the tofu pudding regular and pandan (green) one. They have the mushroom tofu, lemon grass tofu and green onion tofu. Those are my favorite. Staff are nice and fast. Always have people standing in line. Parking a little challenge. They have small spaces.

Love the everything in here! The tofu, rice sheets, pork loaf, tofu pudding and drink was sooo fresh! Customer service was good and ambience is friendly. I'll come back for sure!

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!

I knew about their fried chicken, but I didn't know they had chicken sandwiches too. I got the Spicy Vietnamese Chicken Sandwich, 4 wings, and garlic noodles. Tip: If you order through the app, you can skip the wait and get a free garlic noodle. I think it's only for your first order on the app, though, and I'm not sure how long the deal lasts. Wings -- 3/5 The wings were okay, but pretty mediocre. I got one flat and three drumettes, which was a little disappointing. The flavor and crispiness were both kind of lacking, and I ate them fresh too. The seasoning reminded me of that lobster green onion sauce you'd get at a Vietnamese-Chinese restaurant. Spicy Vietnamese Chicken Sandwich -- 4/5 The sandwich was definitely better. The chicken had a good crisp to it, but sadly, it was overfried and wasn't cooked evenly. The edges were noticeably darker than the center, and the chicken itself was thinner than I expected. The sauce didn't taste like anything particularly special either--it was giving spicy mayo, if anything. The vegetables and pickles made the sandwich taste similar to another famous chicken sandwich place. I actually liked it overall, but because the chicken wasn't fried evenly, I'd give it a 4/5. Garlic Noodles The garlic noodles were okay. They definitely had a lot of garlic, but I didn't think the cheese on top was necessary. It kind of ruined it for me. I won't rate this one since it was free, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Service wasn't bad. It was super busy when I went, so I had to wait a little longer than the estimated pickup time. There's ample seating inside, although the AC was kind of lacking. Overall, I'd probably come back for the chicken sandwich and give it another try, especially if a friend wanted to go. I wouldn't really recommend the other items I tried, though.
