Hands down the best calamari I've ever had. The breading-to-squid ratio was spot on, and it was so incredibly tender. I was in Long Beach for a bit and asked Gemini for a local recommendation. Even though I've been to LBX dozens of times, I had no idea this gem existed. I'm so glad I found it--the food across the board is amazing. Beyond the food, the service was top-tier. Huge shoutout to Nate and Sam for taking such great care of me. Highly recommended! A++
First time here which was great. I've walked by a few times while at the hangers. It was still pretty early when we stopped by which also happened to be happy hour. The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.
We come for lunch a couple of times a year. Today the patio was packed but we got the last open table. Our waiter was attentive and heeded our request- in the past appetizers were delivered along with the entree and it was just too many food items to eat all at once- we asked for it to be brought a fair amount of time ahead of our lunch items and it was perfect. The poke salad bowl was so good. Delicious combination of flavors, and the pickled vegetables had a kick! There was a glaze on everything but a dipping sauce would have been nice. The steak salad was delicious, the beef cooked perfectly and my balsamic vinaigrette on the side as requested. My only complaint was the caramelized walnuts were whole and so hard I almost broke a tooth biting it.
Went to the 908 for happy hour yesterday. Draft beers 2 dollars off and appetizers half off. Have previously tried the calamari and it's very tasty. Yesterday had the poke wraps which was very good as well. 908 is always a great spot to come to for delicious food. Bar had plenty of space to hang out. Happy hour is 3-6.
I came in for an elevated yet casual place to eat tonight at The 908. I've been many times and I love they change their menu semi frequently to keep things fresh! I got the shrimp pho burger and that thing will blow your mind! How do they hit essentially every flavor note to the soup but in a burger?!? The short rib tonight was tender and succulent. I also got the crispy rice with spicy tuna... that was delicious as well but I couldn't wait to take a photo for that one! I sat at the bar and the service was fast and attentive. The food runners were also extremely professional and polite. Great time! This place is spacious too!!
Our server was amazing and did a great job for us. We were seated outside on the patio which was nice but the neighboring table was extremely loud and made it difficult for us to have any level of conversation. We started our meal with the artichoke flowers which were delicious. My sweet potato tacos were spicy and my husband's fish tacos were kind of bland. But the broccolini was delish! We felt rushed to leave due to the noise level but would've loved to hangout and enjoy our cocktails on such a nice summer night. Maybe next time.
We decided to celebrate my son's birthday at The 908 and really glad we did. The restaurant has a modern look and felt welcoming. We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.
Fun Fact: September 8th is 908 Day in Long Beach. The day pays tribute to the city's unique Zip code, which fosters community pride. Hence the name of this restaurant. I ventured out to this neighborhood friendly establishment to meet some darling Yelp ladies for Sunday Brunch. On this lovely day, I encountered a beautiful soul named Feskeli. I wanted to soak up all her energy and carry it in my heart. We were joined by my Yelp sister Te-See - another beautiful soul that lights up the room with her infectious energy. The 908 is spacious with fun, funky artwork on the walls and a fantastic bar that takes center stage. Our server Bubba was awesome! He had a great personality and went the extra mile to ensure my friend's dietary restrictions were addressed. We adored him! I love my martinis with Blue Cheese olives and love them even more when served with a shaker on the side and that's how you get them here. Plus, it's poured at your table. Bonus points for this, and the 908 martini was delish! I typically don't eat until later in the day, so I ordered a side of fruit. The fruit was ripe, sweet, and fresh. It's worth noting that you can also order off the lunch menu during brunch. However, my friends ordered Brunch dishes. One got the 908 Omelet and the other the Classic Breakfast. Both servings were generous and reasonably priced. They enjoyed their meal and we enjoyed our time together. Gilbert is amazing! Bright and full of energy, and so was the hostess that sat us. Nice, open and airy space. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. Next time I'm going to order a side of the gravy!More GRAVY!!
It has been over two years since coming here. The 908 has certainly upped their game and has earned my five star rating. The food here is amazing, the service is quick and very accommodating, the ambiance is great. We had the cheese stuffed artichoke hearts as an appetizer, followed by their lobster roll. I opted for the garlic fries with extra garlic, my daughter had the same entree but with sweet potato fries. So many good choices!!!! I need to come back to try their maple glazed pork chop, and try their pistachio panko crusted halibut.
I made a reservation for 10 people and was thoroughly impressed with how they handled our party. We were able to get separate checks. In the morning they called to confirm whether or not we wanted to sit outside. They also asked if it was a special occasion. It was. It was a reunion three years in the making and the celebration of a birthday. Jessie was our server and he was amazing. He handled all the details and kept track of our progress without being intrusive and was helpful in taking pictures for us. You could tell he wanted to celebration to go well. He even brought out a slice of cake for our birthday girl. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The biggest compliment came from one of our parties husbands as he said he thoroughly enjoyed what he ordered. Apparently that doesn't happen often. The person sitting next to me mentioned how much she enjoyed her omelette. One of the best she's had. I the poke wrap appetizer, which was perfect for me. We were able to hear each other talk, which for 10 people as miraculous. There was energy in the air and beautiful paintings on the wall. So the atmosphere was good. And as an added bonus afterwards, you could walk around and enjoy the shops as well as a local art fair. I drove up from San Diego and have to say it was worth the drive.
Super picky when I go out to eat but came with 6 others and we were all pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed eveything I tasted and so did the others, I did think the calamari was not my favorite starter but that's because I have been spoiled with super juicy and tender calamari. The spicy tuna crispy rice dish was my favorite, I came in for the steak salad but then got more tuna with the poke bowl. It was all great and I got a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Our server Sergio was amazing very kind, personable and great service! Definitely recommend :) Ambiance was nice too and food came out quickly.
Great vibe here! Super spacious interior and plenty of outside seating so you can people watch at the hangar. I love sitting at the bar and taking advantage of their happy hour, some good deals on drinks and apps. The service at the bar is solid too, they make sure to tend to you frequently. Their spicy tuna stack is bomb!! Highly recommend you try this app when you go: perfect texture, generous portion, and it's actually SPICY! The picanha was tender and cooked very well, even better when topped with the chimichurri. My friend ordered the Thai curry seabass which was also delicious and very flavorful. Lastly, the tiramisu is BOMB and the perfect thing to satisfy your sweet tooth before you go! Really dig the food here and plan to come back to try more of the menu in the future!!

Really like this plaza. It's been a while since I played at Skylinks golf course and found this place to grab a beer afterwards. Great happy hour. The food was delicious and the prices were even better. Love the ceviche and artichoke dip. Poutine fries were good but wish it had more gravy on it. Will definitely drop by when I play golf down the street. read more

First time dining at the 908 in Long Beach located at the Hanger. All thumbs up in my book from the ambiance to the helpful friendly staff to the delicious cuisine all at comparative price. Lamar, our waiter, was friendly and efficient and made our birthday celebration dinner great without any hiccups. He explained the menu, since it was our first time, and even let us know some of his favorite dishes. Very very informative guy, thank you! read more

This restaurant is in the midst of an industrial area of Long Beach. Pne wouldn't expect to find a charming, upscale & comfy dining destination here. We came for a late lunch with family. The food was refreshingly new twists to old favorites. We really enjoyed each of the dishes we had. All photos below. Service was attentive, casual like being with friends yet very professional! I was celebrating a work accomplishment and I schemed through my Yelp bookmarks and decided to give 908 a try. I liked that I was able to make a reservation through the Yelp app. Upon arriving, I was greeted by the hostess who sat us immediately. Picking 908 was perfect because it was only 2 table tables with other diners which one was paying the bill when we were seating. As a result, we almost had the restaurant to ourselves which was nice. [It was the day after July 4th and I was informed that the day after a holiday is normally slow]. The restaurant had a modern decor with beautiful gold accents. Outside was closed but it looked better than the inside. My friend and I were already making plans to return and sit outside on a summer evening. Our server, Crystal was nice and friendly. I asked for her recommendations and she provided her top 3 which is what we ordered. I ordered their Picanha [steak and an arugula salad] which was really good and my friend ordered the Rosemary Brined Buttermilk Fried Jidori Chicken. The chicken came with brussel sprouts and they were sautéed to perfection: they had the perfect crunch. Will definitely return and hope I can order brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Based on the ease of making a reservation through Yelp, Crystal's service, beautiful ambiance, and those crispy brussel sprouts, I'll definitely return. read more
Was a great dinner experience with the family! A bonus is that they have a pet friendly patio so our two dogs got to come with us. We got the calamari and bone marrow to share. The calamari was good but was surprised to see there were onions and jalapenos mixed in the fry. The bone marrow was a favorite. The prime rib was delicious and a very sharable size. my wife and and came here for dinner a couple of years ago, invited by a friend. It was good and we enjoyed our evening. We since moved very close to this place and my wife wanted brunch to go. I decided to give this place another try. It was very good. The waitpersons at the front were all young and very nice. They took my order, were responsive, let me know the status, and made sure my order was complete. The space inside is open and comfortable in the daylight: The large window, which is the eastern wall, brings in beautiful natural light. It's a great brunch spot. The food was very good. To start, I love good coffee. When I saw they had french-press organic Peruvian coffee, I decided to try it. It was very good. It was well prepared and was very fresh. Lovely. I got my wife fresh orange juice. She loved it. I ordered the burrata avocado toast and poached eggs. It was really good. It had really great burrata cheese, a good amount of fresh-sliced avocado, red onions, cherry tomatoes, and a balsamic drizzle. I added the poached eggs and it was a great meal. It came with mixed berries too, which was a nice touch. My wife has egg whites, pancakes, and bacon, which she enjoyed. Went here for brunch with a friend. The service, drinks, food, and chairs were great. My friend is gluten free and was able to have the steak chilaquiles. I had the chorizo ones. They were really good with a good heat level . I would like to come again and try their mom brunch menu as the food for dinner also looked good. read more

Was in Long Beach CA recently for a business meeting and with time to kill before my flight back home I asked some locals if they could recommend a spot nearby with a chill ambiance and light and refreshing snacks so they recommended 908 and I was quite pleased. I was with two other colleagues so we ordered a bottle of wine, the Goat cheese stuffed artichoke flowers, shrimp ceviche and spicy tuna stack. My favorites were artichoke flowers and ceviche as the tuna dish was heavy, the tuna bites were very large and might have been better enjoyed if smaller. The rice was overkill. For dessert we ordered the Tiramisu and Crème Brûlée and it was absolutely fabulous. The flavors and textures were on point and my sweet tooth was very satisfied Overall it was a great spot, service was excellent and speedy. Loves the vibes and decor and would definitely love to go back to try their brunch menu. read more

Came to this place with my family. I've been here before, and the food is pretty decent. The customer service was great, and the restaurant was clean inside and out. Our waitress was very polite and sat and had a brief conversation with us. This place would be a cool place to take someone on a date or simply take your family out to eat. The 908 is probably my favorite place at The Hangar to dine. The restaurant has an ample sized indoor dining room, in addition to several tables on the patio (there are heaters above each table, to take some of the bite out of the air on cooler evenings). My favorite appetizer by far is the Goat Cheese Stuffed Artichoke Flowers, which is crazy delicious. Entree-wise, I've had the Cioppino multiple times, and it never disappoints. The quality of the seafood is delicious, and the broth lovely. Today, I had a cup of the clam chowder (amazing- large pieces of clam!), followed by the Maple Glazed Double Pork Chop. Chop is HUGE! Mashed potatoes were tasty, but the Brussels sprouts included in the side are seared just a bit too much for my taste. I've had times where the Brussels were undercooked and other times like today when it was burnt to a crisp. Seems like this particular side is a challenge for the kitchen. Will most definitely return! But, note to self and others who don't enjoy charred Brussels sprouts- you may want to sub for a different veggie side. read more

Everything is great when dinning at the 908! While enduring one of the biggest heat waves in Cali on Saturday, my friend and I decided to enjoy ourselves under the AC with some good food and water. Upon entering we were greeted with smiles, jokes and laughter. We were seated at a table towards the back. We started with the Bone Marrow, and calamari. Bone marrow was paired with a fresh herb salad that resembled olives and lightly toasted baguettes. It was very delicious and sophisticated. The Calamari was a treat, as it came with cherry peppers, house marinara, and my fave the pesto aioli. For our main course I had the seasonal Shrimp, Lobster and Melon Salad. My friend had the Banh Mi chopped salad. Although the cashew dressing wasn't the best, it didn't take away from the beautiful glazed pork belly. It definitely had more cabbage than dressing and pork belly. Overall the experience and service was great, which means we will definitely be back to dine at the 908. read more

Crystal made this experience superb! The food was so delicious and the service was really great, too! This was all thanks to Crystal. I had been looking forward to trying out the 908 for a while. The place is pretty. Great atmosphere. Restroom and restaurant is clean. Servers are clean and presentable. Crystal was beyond sweet. She did not miss a step. It was a busy Friday. I didn't care for the Artichoke spinach dip. It was a bit watery. The 908 burger was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food and service quality was truly exceptional, I can't wait to come back. Next time I'm getting the steak for sure. Whether it's steak chimichurri or prime rib... I'm going to get it. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Made for a great date night. Great location as well. There is ample parking. Great drinks on the menu. I had the SO MUCH DRAMA which includes Meili Vodka, lime juice, cane syrup, fresh raspberries, thyme & peach bitters for $17. Prices are reasonable. Our burger was $20 and came with fries. The burger meat was GOOD. It did not taste cheap like most other restaurants. I also had two COLD BREW MARTINI which had Tito's Vodka, cold brew coffee, Bailey's, Kahlua, Creme De Cacao & cane syrup for $17. We missed Happy Hour by an hour. The hubby had an old fashion. This place was very well lit, the art was beautiful. It was a bustling restaurant with very quick and efficient staff. We got our food so quick and the staff maintained professionalism while being fast. The food was so delicious and cooked perfectly. I have never had Brussel sprouts so tender and so flavorful. This place is a nice stop for brunch! Parking is convenient if you pick a good time and their mimosas are really tasty! They offer various options for their food items but I honestly thought that their shakshuka was not the best in terms of flavor. I'd definitely return and try some of their other items on the menu, which look very promising. read more
If you just focus on the images that I uploaded you'd think that I didn't order a phenomenal Ceasar salad topped with salmon and avocado smh. I completely forgot to take a picture of the salad but it was FLAVORFUL!! I appreciate the manner in which Brooke took special care of our table and our needs. She was such a sweet person who smiled the entire time of our visit. The moment we walked in the door at 908 we were greeted with smiles and great personalities! The 908 is conveniently located outside the Hanger just in case you'd rather have a dine in experience. I was in a peckish mood and their apps didn't quite do it for me. For the table, we shared the following: -poutine ($14): fries smothered in Hunter's gravy with field mushrooms and Gorgonzola -fresh black mussels ($20): white wine, garlic, shallots, crème and toasted baguette -spinach & artichoke dip ($17): mozzarella, Parmesan, béchamel, and chips *seasonal item: duo of scallop crudo ($25): sea scallops with a traditional citrus + sea scallops with a Peruvian coconut milk vinaigrette While everything was good in theory, each dish had an odd kink that I couldn't quite get over. The Gorgonzola in the poutine was pretty overpowering. The cheese curds in poutine are usually pretty non-offensive, but dang, Gorgonzola can do a number on your tastebuds. As for the spinach & artichoke dip, both the spinach and artichoke were very present in the dip. In fact, you got large chopped up chunks of both with each bite. Fine, but the dip was a little on the watery side for me. I ordered what I like, but my selections this time didn't hit the spot. I came during their happy hour (Monday-Friday 3:00-6:00 - $2 off their appetizers), so I got to try a little something of everything without breaking the bank. The 908 is a pretty good dinner option if you're looking for something casual and easy. read more
We stopped in for a quick drink before dinner. I ordered a really basic Tito's and Pineapple off the happy hour menu $8. It was nicely made. However the star of the show was the old fashion $12. Perfectly made! We will come back when visiting the area again. read more

The 908 is a hidden gem strategically blended in a "hanger" like plaza (next to Long Beach Airport). I must had driven by this area a dozen times but never batted an eye to turn into this shopping area -- turns out this area is pretty buzzing with a lots of shops and trendy eateries. With reservations, our party of 17 were immediately seated with three waitstaff that was pretty attentive and helpful. The music was great for background noise, ambience is lively and patrons all-around were talking loudly so be prepared to raise your voices to carry a conversation. :) The menu choices are great -- seemingly at least one entry can be found to satisfy any special dietary needs. I'm flexitarian so I can eat anything, everything tasty! :) We ordered coffee, ice tea, mussels (appetizers), fish tacos and the seafood pasta dish. Mussels (4 stars): Great starter and the sauce was divine. The extra toasted butter bread was a perfect addition to mop up the sauce. Cioppino (5 stars): Rich and yumminess! The dish doesn't disappoint along with generous serving of mixed seafoods. The sauce was savory topped with two toasted parmesan bread with a glaze of pesto was a nice touch. Mahi-Mahi Fish Tacos (3 stars): The fish tacos were good but nothing stands out. I think the dish was way overpriced for the two standard fish tacos -- no fries or any sides. It's certainly a great place for meetups and later explore the surrounding shops for after dark desserts! read more

The 908 is a gem for work dinners! Weekday vibes were spot on, and the service was on point. Happy hour treats like spinach dip, meatballs, calamari, and poutine were all hits - flavorful, hot, and fresh. The black bean sweet potato tacos stole the show, paired perfectly with a side of arugula salad. Everyone left happy, thanks to great food and ambiance. I highly recommend stopping in during happy hour for the $4 off appetizer deals. We made a reservation beforehand which was helpful. Super delicious, super friendly, and loved the decor.
