My wife discovered an authentic Mexican Food restaurant in the city of Leander. She has been on a…read moresearch for the best "Carne Asada burrito" she can find. Not just another steak burrito, but one made "Baja Style", with Ranchero meat or similar. We've found something that comes close at Aparicio's. It's not your ordinary menu choices of ground beef, pork and chicken. First of all, customers waiting in line were raving to their friends on how amazing the food is. The quality, the service and the portion sizes. Taco prices are a bit higher than your average taco stand, but this is not a "hole in the wall" dive joint. The owners have made your experience here unique in the decor, yet the food served on homemade tortillas lets you know you're being blessed in the kitchen, by someone who cares. When we arrived we told them this was our first time. The host spoke to someone, and out from the kitchen comes a sample tray with five cups of food to sample. Carne Asada, chicken, pastor, chorizo and Pableno Pepper sauce. We ordered the Cali Burritto. A Carne Asada burrito with fries, pico, and other fixings. It was huge, even after cut in half. I opted for two tacos, pastor which came with a slice of grilled pineapple and Chorizo. Both served on hand made flour tortillas and they were great. We also got an order of cheese fries. A small bowl of McDonald's size fries with shredded cheese and a light cheese sauce melted on top. It was great, paired with a homemade jalapeño ranch sauce. Finished with a fresh strawberry horchata drink in a large mason jar and a mango melon drink. 6:50 each, yet well worth the cost. So if you're looking for something other than Tex-Mex fusion Mexican food, or if you're missing tasting real authentic Mexican food without having to drive to San Antonio, then drive on over to Leander. Once you pull into the lot, right of Smoky MO's just behind the jewelry shop. Enjoy! Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx.

I never went as the exterior is pretty unassuming but it was surprisingly warm on the inside! I actually ended up going two days in a row as the food was so good. One thing I immediately noticed is the free chips are made fresh- they came out with piping hot with some salsa. On the first day i got a pastor torta cubana (pretty rare in cedar park/leander) and it was stacked! It was loaded with all the toppings, they did not skimp. Nice to have a place with tortas nearby. I came back the next day and I tried their seafood. I got shrimp ceviche, which came with tostadas and toppings (limes/avocado/mayo). It was light and delicious. As id skipped breakfast it also got a breakfast taco...it was HUGE! Mexican scrambled eggs and cheese. And super reasonably priced. We got queso as well and it was fine. Ive had better but it was decent. The waitresses were amazing and super attentive. Before leaving we asked for a refill for example and they put our drinks in large Togo cups without us asking. Recommended! The chips alone made me want to come back over and over again.

The chips are excellent and the queso compuesto rivals the Bob dip at Matt's El Rancho. The refried beans here are above average. The chicken is tender and tasty and their tomatillo sauce is not spicy, which pleases my wife's palate. I always order an extra bowl of tomatillo sauce because there is never enough as it is just ladled over the enchiladas. This particular visit wasn't up to their usual standards. The tomatillo sauce was a little bitter. This is the first time we've experienced the slight bitterness. We will be going back though.

Queso tastes like velveeta with Kraft singles melted with a handful of chopped tomatoes. Just terrible. The salsa that came out with chips (thin and flavorless) was sweet and almost had a chutney taste. The bean dip was very watery. So unappetizing to eat. Ordered burritos and a salad.. The burritos had the same gross cheese and the ground beef was unflavored. The flour tortillas were thick and hard. The salad was okay. It really wasn't worth coming back for. Table water was gross, lots of floating particles. It states it's Mexican food, but it tastes very whitewashed. Definitely does not have the authentic flavors of true Mexican food. Needs salt at the very least. Do not recommend if you're craving authentic Mexican food.
