We were looking for a place to watch the finals of the World Cup without waiting in a line and over paying for food and drinks. The Albert was our place of refuge and the bartender took excellent care of us. He was a champ even when he got slammed with a full bar of hungry soccer fans on a Sunday morning. The coffee was hot, fresh, and bottomless. That's something I pay attention to everywhere I go and I was not disappointed. The Pulled Pork Hash was excellent. I knew I ordered the right thing after it flew in during a yellow card foul and I took a bite. My anger at a bad call was immediately assuaged by the tangy savory goodness of this plate. Where to begin. We will start with service, it was mediocre. Unenthusiastic is the only word I can use... but honestly who is enthusiastic to work anymore?! Drinks... I got a cocktail off the menu which was amazing the first time I ordered it. Ordered another one because I was so impressed. Second one was insanely different. Extremely disappointing honestly. We ordered a pretzel, after 10 mins of waiting the server told us they were out of it. So we ordered Buffalo egg rolls.... This was the best thang we ordered by far. I got a turkey burger and onion rings. This is where everything went down hill. Burger was mush. Literal mush. Did not hold together well at all and was the consistency of wet dog food. Onion rings were so lightly cooked they held every bit of grease they touched. I had a bite of both and literally pushed my plate to the edge. Not once was asked if I wanted a box or if anything was wrong. When we entered there was a football game on the sound. That was at a completely fine volume level. After it went off some metal music came on so loud you couldn't hear each other talk over the booth table. All in all we paid over $100 for an below average lunch and were extreme disappointed. Came here for a snack between my serving shifts. Arrived around 3 and there was just one bartender taking care of the booths in the front and the bar. It turned out to be Keena, our server. Her balancing those tables and the bar was pretty impressive. I know I would've have been a hot mess! The food....phenomenal! I didn't take pictures because we were starving! We split the fried pickles and BLT sandwich. We also got the green beans with the BLT. They were french green beans, cooked and seasoned perfectly with shallots. I'm so sorry I didn't take pictures. I've lived in the old fourth ward for over five years and I'm ashamed to say I didn't discover the Albert until this year. It has quickly become my favorite neighborhood joint. I am hooked hard on their Brussels sprouts, the side items are all good and that griddled diner burger... way better company than a human. Whenever my friends want to just hang out grab a few casual drinks, I always suggest the Albert. It's in a great location in Inman Park so it's easy to get to whether you are driving or walking on the BeltLine. The bar has more seating than you'd initially think when you walk in. The main bar area is fairly narrow with several booths and room to sit by the bar. Behind that main area is a whole other seating area with more tables. The ambiance is fairly dive-bary. Though there is definitely some ambient noise from other patrons and the music playing, I've never had a problem hearing the group of people I'm with. What's really nice is that the Albert has all the cheap but delicious beers that you go to a dive-bar for but they also have a really great list of cocktails, such one with gin and elderflower. All of the cocktails are less than $10 for the most part. The Albert does offer a decent food menu with options that range from wings to hot dogs to salads. Last time I was there I got the "Albert Burger"...I'm a sucker for anything with pimento cheese on it... and a side of the mac and cheese. The burger itself was okay...nothing amazing but nothing bad. The mac and cheese I was less of a fan of (but to admit I am a tad of a mac and cheese snob when it comes to ATL restaurants). The mac and cheese was kind of watery and very reminiscent of just plain old Kraft out of the box. Overall I felt kind of "meh" about the food. BUT, it was nice to have the option of the variety of food that was still being served fairly late as I was drinking. Our experience here was not positive. This bar is a bit of a dive and located off the main street/strip. When we walked in we were greeted by a bar back who didn't know much about the drink list so he went to find a bartender. She was friendly but also was not very versed in the drinks. We ordered the two drinks she recommended and they were terrible. So terrible that we took a few sips and walked out of the bar (left $ on the bar of course). I'm not much of a brunching type, but when we do tend to go out for said meal, we tend to stay away from anywhere overrun with popularity for this Sunday meal. Since living in the neighborhood, I've frequented The Albert on numerous occasions for lunch meetings or a few beers with friends. Our first Brunch was had recently and I can finally say I've found a place that I absolutely love for Brunch. All of the food I've had from The Albert has been great and the Diner Burger is one of my favorites in Atlanta, but the rest of the Brunch menu is pretty great. I mean... bacon pancakes? Smoked wings? Pulled Pork Hash? Pimiento cheese? It was all fantastic. And, to make it even better, the menu is so manageable and nothing to be scared of. Just a few mains, sandwiches, and sides. Nothing too crazy. Pair the menu with the approachability of The Albert and I've just landed a spot that I can't wait to get back to for Brunch. Well done, friends. I've lived right down the street from the Albert for over 2 years and I'm just now getting around to writing a review. As someone who writes a review almost every day, that should speak volumes. The Albert and I, well, we're cordial. Polite. But certainly not friends. Acquaintances, maybe. I should be a regular at this bar, but I can count the number of times I've been on one hand. Why? Well, they allow smoking, which is a no-no in my world unless you can back it up with a damn good dance floor or some other kind of super special activity. Just to grab a beer and hang out? No smoking, please. The service ranges from decent to aloof... more often the latter. The food is okay, definitely decent for bar food, but again, nothing to write home about. I do love their $5 specials as it's a pretty cheap way to get a big and often fried meal. I wanted to love the Albert, I really really wanted to love it. I even gave it five tries, before I wrote it off... Being a resident of Inman Park, the location made it perfect to be a new hang-out spot of mine. However the below-average food, combined with poor service, makes The Albert a restaurant I really can't recommend. I stopped giving The Albert chances, after my Husband and I were eating at the bar, and the unfriendly bar tender took my Husband's plate and walked it straight back to the kitchen in the middle of our meal. He had a whole order of fries left, and assuming (not asking) if he was through, tossed the food, and had the check sitting in front of us immediately following. We probably would've sat and had a few more beers, and picked @ his fries for another hour, but were so turned off, we complained, paid, left, and haven't been back since... Several other Inman Park residents that I've spoken with have had the same kind of issues... I suggest checking out the Porter, or North Highland Tap for a casual Inman Park bar/dining experience next time you're in the neighborhood... read more

Terrible service. Waiter brings my food and drink. The drink is a dirty glass so I eat the whole meal with nothing to wash down the burger. No chance to ask for a replacement drink. The waiter comes back 20 mins later to drop off my bill. What's his name? No idea. Never introduces himself (late 20's with a beard). My other half and I love Trivia. If we didn't work in the evening times, we'd probably hit a trivia night at least three or four times a week. Last week was a week that was slow for work for us, so we got to partake in trivia in various locations throughout town. Though I had been to this place years ago and remembered not liking it, I thought we would could give it another try. Where do I begin? Before walking into the door, I notice cupcakes in the display case near the front door. Now, I know I haven't informed any of my fellow yelpers about the hate I have for cupcakes yet. But it should be known that cupcakes are a trend that I'd like to see disappear. Enough already with the f*king cupcakes. With that aside, upon entering the bar we ask the server if trivia is actually taking place. She nonchalantly grumbled yes. Maybe the server is just as irritated by the cupcakes as I am... The service, wow. How terrible was the service... Let's see, The bartender was not friendly at all and I can't even explain how terrible our waitress was. I guess she was just more interested with her cell phone rather than actually serving tables during a busy trivia night. But this terrible service was all around. While we were outside smoking a cigarette we were bombarded by a bum. I'm from Inman Park/ L5P via the 1980's and now I live in the ghetto, I'm used to this. But I'm also used to the restaurant/ bar staff dealing with the situation, ensuring safety for their guests. Kitchen staff comes out, witnesses the whole thing happening outside and does NOTHING. Several staff members watched this man come in and out of the restaurant/ bar approaching tables for beer and such. No one did anything. Moving on, I'm not a fan of their beer selection. I guess in a location as beautiful as this, I expect awesome beer. Nope. Nothing. The interior of this place is hoaky, too. Terrible blue on the walls and the kitch of having people named "Albert" on the walls. (lame) This is what saved this place- The hamburger. The hamburger was awesome. My Yelping has invaded my conciousness on a daily basis! Really!! While in The Albert yesterday for the second time ever, my mind went over possible ratings for this place. The following details my mindset about The Albert throughout my time there: - 1 in the afternoon?.. Wow, pretty dead - Oh! It is the nice bartender again... What is his name again?! - Didn't they have a beer special? Check! Oh wow, they have a drink special that has to be the best in Atlanta: a 24 oz. PBR beer, and a shot of Jager for $5.... Although it is tempting, I am not trying to get wasted at this hour. Plus, I did waaaaaayyy too much Jager in college. (Ordered Fried Green Tomatoes which insured the 4 stars for this spot... They were melt-in-your-mouth good! And they also have entrees there for $8 every day, or at least every weekday.) - Gosh I wish I could smoke in here... But I am sure other people appreciate it being non- smoking. (go outside, to have a cigarrette) - Geez, this place needs a patio, I am thinking 3.5 stars. Upon re-entry into the place, my Fried Green Tomatoes were there. Soooo yummy. And although there is no patio, no smoking (hell, I need to quit anyhow), and it was a little dead, it still deserves a 4. I mean, that drink special is just calling at you to pre-drink there. They also have a good selection of beers, and are located smack dab in Inman Park, which is beautiful. So have fun and check this place out if you live in the area. I'm a fan! read more

I am a big fan of The Albert, for a couple specific reasons. For starters - it simply has no comparable establishments within the Inman Park Village area, seriously, they do not. If you want an actual nice bar that has a dive bar feel, The Albert is that. The two ends of the bar typically have a completely different clientele with the far left being mostly industry folks who know one another and the left being a little less hipster/5 Points stylee. The food here is actually REALLY good, like really good - it surprises me almost every time and it's been open for 7 years now. The TV's = Awesome for watching sports, the booths are clutch if you can snag them. The Albert is good, just good. If you don't know, you should probably get over there and check it out. read more

For drinks, I would much rather head to Little 5 or East ATL because this place has no identity. First, one side serves itself as a cafe, while the other is a straight up bar. While some might think the two enviros are great...I'm a little confused on why a coffee shop would link to a bar. To me quiet and crazy isn't a functional dichotomy. Beyond that, the layout in the bar is odd. Very long and narrow. If you grab a booth you're in luck, because socializing anywhere else is a little akward. Not only because it's cramped, but also because the crowd is as random as pairing a cafe with a bar. What you see is a bunch of Inman Park and outlying locals flocking to the newest thing in the area. So, there's no true identity yet. Flat screens play sports, while the music runs the gammut from 80's rock and punk to early hip hop. And no it's not because there's a jukebox (thumbs down). I think the best things about this place are (1) the cieling and (2) the organic IPA they sell. Aside from those two points, there isn't much else for me to return for--other than the fact that some of my aquaintances like the trendiness of it. As for me I'd rather stick to some the faithful bars and pubs bordering The Albert. Just don't tell the bartender...I'm pretty sure he could kick my ass. read more

After one bite of the Albert's fried shrimp wrap, my mouth threatened to detach itself from my face and dive into the women's toilet. My lips hadn't felt so hot since I accidentally splashed myself with pepper spray. Yet, when I took a five-minute break after plunging my face into the tortilla upon the waitress' suggestion, I found the sensation almost pleasurable. The side of coleslaw provided a nice cooling contrast to the scorching scene-stealer. Not to mention my Moscow Mule and Oreo cupcake. (I couldn't believe the case of flavorful cupcakes.) I ventured to the Albert with a recommendation in hand for their burgers and pulled pork, as they have a smoker out back which makes them delicious and juicy. Unfortunately, it was a big food disappointment, so I wish I could make this a better review. It's still a 3 because of the Atmosphere of this bar, which is friendly towards you and all the locals that come in an out of the long narrow bar and the comfortable seating area in the room next door. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac'n'cheese. A pretty standard, go-to items for me. My dish came quickly, being pushed through the food pulley that is built into the wall [a cool little feature]. The sandwich: Did you drown the hickory BBQ in pepper? It was completely overspiced, giving it an unpleasant flavor. I enjoyed the texture, being slow-roasted greatness but the BBQ on it was completely overpowering. The Mac: Did you even COOK this? I don't know what to say, but i've had cafeteria food better than it, it was hard and gloppy; an unpleasant almost beer cheese flavor. This hurts me a lot, because it's my favorite comfort food. So upsetting. However the girl at the bar was super nice and they have a decent beer selection. In general, the atmosphere is inviting, everything is clean and patrons are engaging both with the staff and each other. I went here today and not only was the food bad, the service was too. And the waitress flat out lied to us about restaurant week... We asked to see the restaurant week menu and she told us that none of the restaurants were doing that for lunch, that it was only a dinner thing. Which we knew to be untrue as we had eaten at Fritti, a half block away and across the street from Pure, and had the restaurant week menu and we could see that Pure was offering it for lunch as well. That started the meal off on a bad note, and then we ordered... I got the turkey burger, which I had had before and it was excellent... then. We tried to get the waitress's attention so that we could order the queso, but she kept ignoring us. We should have taken this as a sign not to order it, it was just bad. My burger was dry, though the bun was good. I have SparkQuest on my phone and she was not pleased about having to honor that either. It was reflected in her tip. Went to The Albert for a late dinner last week and was definitely a fan, the scene inside is nice and a little bit divey which I enjoy, especially in the vicinity of the polished Inman park bars/restaurants. Got the fried pickles which were heavily battered and extremely delicious, as well as the pulled pork sandwich at the Albert burger which were both great. Brussel sprouts (good) and Mac n' cheese (mediocre-could potentially have been boxed Kraft Mac and cheese which is delicious but probably not restaurant quality). Definitely make sure to flip to the back page of their drink menu where they have closeout beer and drink deals which are delicious and a good excuse to order more drinks. Got the Bloody Mary which was top notch and one of their specialty cocktails which was equally delicious, haven't found anywhere else with drinks this good for the money. The Albert is a great neighborhood bar. I've been here many times, most recently for Wednesday night trivia. The trivia is fun but crowded, so it's not easy to win. I've also been here for drinks and a tasting dinner with Wild Heaven. I've had one or two issues with the food so that's why I docked a star. Nothing major, but lack of freshness or not cooked how I wanted it to be. Staff was very accommodating when this happened. Service is good, prices are good, and it is the perfect neighborhood dive bar (because it's not actually all the divey). Worth checking out if you're in the area. It's a nice break from all the new, over crowded places around the corner. read more

The Albert continues to be one of my favorite Atlanta bars! The weekend is the time to go. Drew cooks up some of the best meat on his cookers. His BBQ sauce was so good, I told the server to give him a big kiss on the mouth! They have $1 sliders on Saturday's. One choice for the slider is pulled pork. The pork was all gone by time we got there, but they did offer us some of the brisket in place. My Lord, that was a GREAT sandwich!! I ate one bite of the turkey burger slider I got after the brisket. I don't know what Drew does to his meat, but it's righteous!! The service was great. The beer is divine. The slow cooked meat is amazing! Others we were with got various things on the menu and we all walked away full and raving about the food. Gotta go with three stars on this one. I ate there last night with a girlfriend of mine and I think it really has potential but they are probably just still working out the kinks. I agree with a previous Yelper on the fact that they beer selection is abysmal. The atmosphere is so pub-like that you expect a fabulous selection. And the measly list they give is disappointing. But, they did have Stella and it's a neighborhood joint, not a Taco Mac, so I guess that's to be expected. The food was pretty good. I had a turkey burger that was dusted with cumin. It was actually juicy which can be tough for a turkey burger. I really wanted the jalapeno cole slaw as my side order but they were out. So I went with the side salad with balsamic vinaigrette on recommendation from my waitress. She made it sound extraordinary. Rather, it was what I would have made in my own kitchen when I was running low on veggies - lettuce, diced tomato, and some red onion. BORING! Finally, the service kinda stank. But you know, again, it's a pretty new spot so maybe they were just working out the kinks. I'll give it another shot and do an updated review soon. read more

How is it that I can always attest to the drinks at a bar that serves food, but never to the food... hmmm. As stated above, I was here to drink, not to eat, so I can't comment on the food, but I had a great time at The Albert. It's a comfortable, neighborhood type bar (bonus for being walking distance so I can stumble home). In my book, they get bonus points for the tin ceilings because it's a personal design favorite of mine. Cute, quirky pictures of famous "Alberts" line the walls. Our waitress was very nice and put up with an unruly crowd (post L5P Halloween Festival). Drinks were generous and the crowd was pleasant. This place was a weird experience. We arrived around 7:30 to play trivia at 8:00 on a Wednesday. It took forever to get a server to the point where we thought maybe it was counter service and started heading up there after sitting ungreeted for a while. A guy finally put some menus down but didn't take our drink order. He came back later and we asked if there was anything dark on the menu for beer besides Guiness....no. Weird, it's winter and you're a wanna be hipster bar- you only have one dark beer? We noticed that the people around us were nursing coronas....yikes. We got an appetizer and he finally came to take our dinner order- yes, we'll take two burger specials for $5. "Oh you just missed that special by two minutes" We didn't say anything but I was thinking.......ummm DUDE we have been here for half an hour- we have been ready to order for a while and we will now pay DOUBLE the price for our burgers because it is 8:02 and the special ends at 8:00?!!? Besides the odd service the place as a whole was just so WHITE. I mean the music was constant crappy 90s white bands....Hoobastank and Matchbox 20. Eww, really Inman Park? Another table next to us this white older couple had ear plugs in during the trivia and had an infant in a carriage with a blanket over the entire thing. I mean, I'm talking this place is like YUPPY whitey mcwhiterson and there weren't just white people at this bar. There was a great mix....but it just felt so WHITE and OLD. read more

You are sitting at home and you want to go out. But your friend's are well ...lame with excuses - my Boyfriend/girlfriend, already drunk, have to work in the morning, blah blah blah. You can go completely alone and find at least a buddy to share a Paulaner with at the bar. You will have a Cheer's moment every time you walk into that place because everyone knows your name. Or they will know it very shortly. I think they really make a point of it. The bartenders are not just "nice" they are f'ing awesome. You know you like a place when you are dead tired and as you drive past you auto-pilot in to the parking lot. I personally think they should offer the Pork Chop everyday of the week. Side Note- Don't expect your friends to enjoy it with you. I've yet to take someone there who loves it as much as I do. Mr. K says it's too loud, the corned beef sandwich isn't the same like in Germany, and there aren't a lot of desserts to choose from. Interesting story behind the name (of course the bar tender could be full of it, but it sounded legit at the time)... picture of Einstein holding the baby on the wall where the baby is the owner.... The few times I've been there it has been very crowded, I have yet to be able to actually get a table, but instead cozy up to the bar. My Black and Blue burger was A-mazing. Tons of flavor! I practically devoured it. The fries were also crispy. It also had a good vegetarian option for my girlfriend, which is always a plus. I need to go back and try a few more things before I'm willing to give it a higher (or lower) rating but I'm definitely sold so far. Seating was quick for a Friday night and service was prompt and friendly. They have a good beer selection, but not great. The selection, especially for a pub, felt a little too generic. I know other people have complained about the smoking but I didn't even notice it. David and I met up with Michael at The Albert to exchange x-mas gifts and have a little snack. I've been here before and really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy and was glad that we could have a conversation over some good bar food. It's just amazing that this place opened less than a year ago and it already has that neighborhood bar feeling where the locals hang. I am practically never this deep into Inman Park territory, but I had a thing after work in that area and decided it made more sense to find a bar or resto to hole up in rather than go home and then fight traffic all the way back. I mentioned my upcoming sojourn to some co-workers who jumped up and started preaching the gospel according to The Albert. "The food! The drinks!" they crowed. "And make sure you sit at the bar!" So, I took the advice, and WOW! Never have I been so glad to have followed a word-of-mouth rave. The place is little hard to park for, but once inside, you will forget all about the laps you had to do to find a place to ditch your chariot. The food is ah-mah-zing! I looked over the menu, and it all looked wonderful, but this was the restaurant equivalent of blind date, so I decided to play it safe and have the chicken tenders, side of fries. Let's face it, boneless fried chicken is pretty hard to completely destroy, so it's a good bet when you're out of your neighborhood and going after some strange. They were a revelation! Hot, juicy, perfectly crisped and seasoned. The crust was light and crunchy, and the chicken itself dissolved into a delicious ethereal mouthful under the slightest pressure of teeth. This chicken was magic....and so were its partnering french fries. Perfectly cooked, served hot and dusted with fresh pepper and some kind of fine, flaky sea salt. I could have eaten another whole plate, but I thought I'd do a little better and got a side salad instead. Another winner, snappy green lettuce, fresh croutons that I am pretty sure must have been homemade, and just the perfect amount of a creamy, garlicky Caesar dressing that I would have been delighted to eat with a spoon all by itself. The bar was a little noisy, but not too bad, and I was really enjoying the TV being tuned to the Science Channel. Another thing that made this place a hit with me was the sheer number of locals wandering in and out of the place, stopping to chat with the staff and each other. One of the hobbies I love most is eavesdropping on gossip about people I don't even know, and there was an embarrassment of riches in that department today. However, the flip side of that coin is what took my experience from 5 stars to 4. I really loved the bar, and I will be back to work through some more of that menu, but frankly, the service was a little chilly at first. The girl who first waited on me wasn't all that friendly, and was a lot warmer to the regulars around me. Which I understand, but it does kind of suck when it's your first time. On the other hand, her shift apparently ended right after I got there, and the day was saved by the guy I was handed off to. He was a riot, absolutely nice and full of conversation. While I was here to try their top ranked burger, The Diner Burger, I was easily swayed by The Albert Burger (because: pimento cheese & bacon) and it was good. Two of the three ingredients of my all-time favorite burger so you can say I played it a bit safe. Everyone at the table with the Diner Burger couldn't stop raving about it and I'll admit, I was totes jealous. It looked so simple, so basic (no bacon & no opportunity to customize) so I was confused that it was unanimously voted as one of if not THE best burgers in life (ok, Atlanta) by my table. I'm actually kicking myself for going against the grain and I'm seriously plotting going back to try it. If you're more than a little hungry, definitely opt for an appetizer (may I suggest the wings) as these burgers run on the small side. Disappointingly, the sides lacked consistency as some (one really, the black beans) were really good and most others, bland. All in all: The prices are reasonable, they make a damn good burger and they have Hopsecutioner (score). read more

Stopped here on a food tour and it was amazing! They had the best wings I've ever had in my life! The wings were meaty and flavorful on their own. Plus lots of great dipping sauce and boiled peanuts. To top it off the cocktail that they call their spin on a Moscow mule was delicious. I could drink that every day! read more

The Albert - Bars Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

I actually liked the Albert more than I thought I would. I had the nachos, and they were huge and delicious. The food is pretty reasonable, but leans more toward the expensive side (for me); especially given that it is typical bar fare. The waitress was awesome, and completely attentive. The service rocked. I liked the interior, and how they had an "Albert" theme, with people named Al or Albert being featured throughout the place... pretty funny. However, it was annoying when I went to the restroom, because their was gals and als... which I didn't get at first, and thought that the als bathroom was a girls room missing a g. Oh well though... I stopped in for a late lunch, around 2 pm. The special, a skirt steak sandwich was good, very flavorful. The cole slaw was ok. What was not ok, was the staff's reaction when an attractive young woman arrived in a stunning sports car. I only caught a glimpse of the car. Something way north of a Porsche. A Maserati? Ferrari? The waitress remarked "her sugar daddy must have gotten it for her". Her tone was not lighthearted nor jovial. The b o y s in the kitchen had more to say, but not about the car. " She's tall" "Yeah, 6 feet maybe and double D" Yeah, it's a bar. Not the comfortable neighborhood pup I was looking for. read more

The Inman Park Restaurant Week came around and The Albert was on it. I was surprised that The Albert had enough "food" to be considered a restaurant as I've been driving by it for years and thought it was just a bar with regular ole bar food. So of course, I made a reservation to try it out. Well, they do have a decent menu and the thing that caught my eye (and what's been keeping me going back) is the smoked wings. They give me as much blue cheese as I want and a good portion of celery. I have to ask for extra blue cheese, of course, but they don't scoff or charge me extra. And a bonus? It's not as smokey as most bars. I can actually eat here and not feel like I just smoked a pack myself. The decor, art, and wallpaper are interesting... and I'm not sure if I mean that in a good way or not. Lol. The only time I ever had an issue with the service was the day I went for restaurant week and that was just because it was so slammed. He made every effort to get us our stuff on time but dude was just pulled between too many tables at once. And he was so apologetic for getting the bill to us late. The parking lot can be a little bit of a disaster. Don't park all the way in if there are cars behind you. Why? Because you'll have to do a 60 point turn so as to not dent your car, or the 3 other cars that are next to or behind you. Now I don't know much about the full menu, but I'm fairly certain that everything I have tried has been average to good. And the beer list is pretty good, especially the Allagash White. ;) Though I have to drive outside my neighborhood, this is one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Mmm, wings. There seems to be a new cook in the kitchen and a new menu on the table. The variety and quality of some of the food has improved, including some additional vegetarian options (BBQ tofu wrap, for example). Recently tried the fried chicken sandwich, which was pretty killer with its mayonnaise and jalapeno peppers. Still like their BBQ pork sandwich as a fall back. The burger was awful though. I can't believe I paid $10 for it, when I can get one better and cheaper at the Vortex (and Cafe 640 has amazing burgers as well for another spot nearby). For extracurricular fun, there is pool, dart boards and trivia on Wednesdays. It tends to be slightly smoky and more on the pub side than fine dining side, but suffices as a neighborhood joint. Prices could be better...they are a little high, especially on their new and improved salads. While good, a basic salad with no meat is not worth $9. read more

Any restaurant that has boiled peanuts on the menu is pretty fine by me. The menu at the Albert is as flavorful as the area surrounding it. Inman park is a nice change from the monotonous nights in neighboring VaHi or Little 5. I was really impressed by the food, considering there is something for everyone here. Except for smoking, that is NOT for everyone, and unlike our buddies in Decatur, you are able to smoke inside this bar. I personally don't like to eat & smoke, in the same vicinity. But I can get over it, because there were tacos, folks. Really amazing pulled pork tacos. Sure, I got them with a side of green beans, because the waiter said they were the best side item, and most ordered. Those green beans, DAYUM. I kept wafting my garlic breath while laughing with my friend because I knew there was no way the fresh garlic stench could fumigate my mouth for at least 24 hours. You don't want to know what day-old garlic stench is like. I chalked it up to: "I'm not meeting anyone tonight, but I know you'll still be my friend even if I smell like roadkill" Still. Friends. My buddy told me his favorite item on the menu was the Albert hot dog. You gotta love a place that can make a hot dog as if it were unicorn meat sausages. (But really) On the tipsy side of the Albert life, they have a great drink menu. To name a few: Bells Two-Hearted, ::swoons::, Sweetwater, Guinness, Sierra Nevada, Mothership Wit, PBR, Highlife and specialties of all kinds in the cocktail department. Oof..I just wanted to say I still love their wings.. Anytime I am craving wings, which is very often, I always come to the Albert. Again, love the local scene and staff here is pretty great. Pretty good selection of beer, wish they had one or two great cocktails. read more
