YAY Inman Park restaurant week :) And the Albert has a $15 menu with some great looking options. I read some Yelp reviews that the place allows smoking, so I was a bit anxious about that before coming in. Luckily, I found out the bar is non-smoking until 10pm, so it was fine for dinner. Phew! The restaurant week menu allowed you to choose an appetizer, entree and dessert for $15, so I ordered the Crispy Grit Cake, Smoke Salmon Steak, and Tres Leches Cornbread Cake. CRISPY GRIT CAKE This was AMAZING. There was a pretty decent size serving of the grit cake in a flavorful mushroom sautee sauce. I was very pleased with the flavor, and it has similar flavors to the local mushroom risotto entree. SMOKE SALMON STEAK This salmon was cooked really well in the middle where it isn't too dry and not too raw. However, the outside was a bit too crispy. It came with a side of sweet potato fries, but they were the most delicate and non-substantial french fries I have ever eaten. The horseradish cream sauce tasted a bit smokey too, but it could have used a bit of lemon to counter the creaminess. TRES LECHES CORN CAKE I have to be honest, I pretty much chose The Albert for restaurant week because I saw this on the menu. However, when I tried it after they brought it out, I just felt... confused. Tres leches cake is usually really moist and sweet, but the corn bread made it dry and a bit too salty to be a dessert. Overall, I wasn't a fan, but I'll give it points for being creative. The diner burger with bacon is amazing. Highly recommended. It melts in your mouth. Definitely order the boiled peanuts as an appetizer. My best friend in middle school was named Albert. Random note. I love this joint. I live a stone's throw from P'cheen yet I risk the safety of my body by walking all the way to The Albert, and back, even at night (I guess I should not do this after some probable stalker creep reads this) I love their food. I am trying to give up french fries so their green beans appz is a great alternative. THE BEST MO-FO- **ING Bloody Mary in TOWN. Not only is it absurdly (sp?) delicious, it is BEAUTIFUL. I take a photo each time I come in. (can I upload it's pic on here?) I get drunk on purpose on Saturday nights so I have a valid reason to get dressed in a mu-mu, walk out the door bra less and unshaven, sprting last night's makeup, and stumble in there with my sunglasses at 11:59 AM on Sunday mornings. John the Bartender is totally awesome. I usually have a routine of chipotle after a hangover but this Sunday I gave in to breakfast here and loved it. I showed up last evening with my new little friend Amy (who has an amazing new fake rack) and we enjoyed the late crowd. I think the crowd also enjoyed her and the twins. The Albert is a SOLID local dive bar. Great atmosphere and some pretty good food as well; definitely a step up from your average bar food. You see them smoking the wings and other meat every day outside. I come here when I'm in the mood for a chill place to grab a bite to eat and a drink. I come here with friends but I also stop in by myself for a quick bite and drink. Either way, always leave happy. During the day, there's always a place to sit. At night, it gets pretty busy. Brunch can get busy as well but there's still usually a place to sit. I eat pretty healthy so here are the things I usually get: SMOKED WINGS, Kale salad, BEER, chili, bloody mary (brunch). Came here for lunch during a brief visit to the Atlanta area. My party had just finished hiking Kennesaw Mountain, so we were all pretty famished when we got here. We started off with some ciders and beers (Terrapin on tap is always a plus), and took some time to peruse the menu. The food was a kind of typical bar fare with things you'd expect like burgers, wings, fries, baked mac & cheese... then a few things more Southern like boiled peanuts and fried pickles. We ordered some appetizers which came out pretty quick, and most of it was pretty good. I especially liked their fried pickles! When time came to order, we all ended up getting burgers, as we were told that they made a good one. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with swiss, and it was definitely a solid burger. No complaints. The wings we were sharing weren't very good... the meat was kinda flavorless, and they had a lot of gristly parts on them. I liked the atmosphere of the bar, despite the place having a somewhat strange layout. The inside was sort of shaped like a trapezoid split in half with the bar/kitchen separating the 2 sides. Also, our server was incredibly prompt and very accommodating with all of our requests. If I lived in this area, I'd probably frequent the Albert regularly. Still love this place. The food is amazing. When I feel like having a cheat day with a great burger, this is where I go. The Diner Burger is juicy and so tasty. Their fries are crispy and well seasoned. Another favorite is the Miracle Dog. Hot dog topped with mac & cheese, sriracha mayo and bacon. They toast the bun too. It is a different and rich hot dog with great toppings! I love their brussel sprout side dish too. Fried sprouts with balsamic dressing and blue cheese all tossed together. I enjoyed the Albert. It is your basic bar: a long bar in the main room, booths int he main room, tables in the back room, walls covered by TV screens, nice atmosphere. The food is absolutely ok. But the food is secondary to the bar. Hamburgers, wings,boiled peanuts, fried pickles, patty melt, salads. The food is edible but you wouldn't go to the Albert for the food. You go for the bar and order food as part of the bar experience. And The Albert has no pretensions to be anything more than a bar with pretty good, made-to-order food. read more

I have had very different experiences at The Albert. The first time I went was during Inman Park Restaurant week, and I have to say their food was very spectacular. I had some really good scallops. However, every time I've gone since that occasion has been a slight downhill slope. It seems like The Albert might have an identity disorder and is trying to be several different things at once: a bakery, a nice restaurant, a bar for hipsters. That would all be fine... except for the horrible service I've received the previous 5 times I've gone before I gave up on the place. I do recommend their burgers though. But don't try the BBQ tacos. It was just another typical NFL Sunday, I wanted to catch the 8:30 game and per usual I was craving wings. However, our options were quite limited considering the time and hurricane Irma slowly approaching. Thankfully, The Albert was able to fulfill both of my needs. To be honest, I probably would have never ventured into this is establishment if it wasn't for its listing as the #6 wing in all of Atlanta per vol. 47 of Creative Loafing. Let's just say the wings are on list for a reason! I ordered a 20 piece with a side of collard greens. And I split the order to 10 ranch dry rub and 10 of their smoked. They were accompanied with blue cheese and the house BBQ sauce, respectively. I was very dissatisfied with the collard greens. I am sure they have better side options but these definitely are not one of them. The ranch dry rub wings were subpar as well, don't get me wrong they were good, but they were no where near great. I would have preferred them with more of rub not just sprinkled seasoning. The smoked wings on the other hand, woah baby, this is what got them at the #6 spot and in my opinion could have been even higher on the list. The outside was crisp while the inside was juicy and tender. The house BBQ sauce was different to say the least, a bit of a sweet and tangy kick, that I found to be very useful. The atmosphere was hip and trendy and they have several tvs with a bar. Our waiter, Dylan, wasn't anything spectacular it wasn't until he brought the check that we got our first refills on water. I went there on a Thursday night, it wasn't too busy but if felt like a very depressing Applebees. The bartender had a horrible attitude. Took awhile to help. The lights were so bright. The music was elevator music. It was just a different expirience than I had expirienced on other days I've been. Usually the staff is pretty cool and the music vibe is way more enjoyable. Idk whats happened to this place, but it isn't it anymore. I felt like I was in a torture chamber surrounded by a bunch of divorcees with unresolved trauma. I'm picky about which bars I like to hang out in, mostly because I don't like it when it is too loud or too packed. I like a well mixed drink and a good selection of beers (read Cider). Also, you have to be sure that the drinks are not over priced and the service is great. This isn't too much to ask, is it? The Albert is the spot. Good food, good drinks, great service (ask for Cliff, but quick before he moves out of state), and my bill is always reasonable. The stock Strongbow (my cider of choice), mix a strong drink and bring it quickly and always right. You must try the spicy boiled peanuts - great bar snick to have with your beer or your shots of Fireball. read more

Jefferson Rye with a Blue Moon draft on the side. Pork tacos. Wow -- all very tasty (especially the Rye -- yummay). This is a cool little place in Inman Park... just down the street from the trendy restaurants we walked past to get to The Albert. Of course Yelp steered us in the "proper" direction. I came here this week for ATL Burger Week, because...$5 burgers. I had also heard very positive things about The Albert, so I was excited to try their burger, and I must say, it did not disappoint. Delicious single patty burger with mac and cheese, sriracha mayonnaise, and bacon jam. Every bite was so savory and packed with flavor. I only wish I ordered another burger! But that probably wouldn't have been the wisest of decisions, health-wise... Our table also ordered the sides plate, where you can get a sampler of three sides for $10. We got the fries, bacon creamed corn, and the fried brussels sprouts. The fries were so hot and crispy - so addicting! The bacon creamed corn was also super tasty, but I only wish there was more bacon in it. The fried brussels sprouts was one of their specials, and I'm glad we got to try it! I would definitely order these again. My friends also ordered the fried pickles and they seemed to enjoy those as well. read more

Great neighborhood bar. There is free parking in the back. The burger is fantastic but the real show stealer is the Kale salad. Next time, my plan is to get the salad as my entree. Yes, it's that good. My favorite thing about this place... There is Creature Comforts Tropicalia on tap! The menu says Creature Comfort Rotating. Silly me thought it was the type of beer. I was pleasantly surprised to learn it was Tropicalia. My friend went here on a separate occasion and thought it said Potating, haha. I took a star away for service. Made my 1st visit last month after passing by on many occasions. I had taken an Uber to Inman Park earlier in the evening, but wasn't quite ready to head home so I stopped in. Interior wasn't particularly special, but was good enough for a beer and/or whiskey. I was able to snag a seat at the bar. My bartender/server seemed cool (can't remember his name). I chose a draft beer from the fairly wide selection, and also had a "shorty" of Tully. I'd heard that the food was good, and I was noticed that my neighbors seemed to be enjoying their dishes. I ordered some wings to give 'em a shot. I was somewhat distracted with talking to my new friends, but after a while I noticed that some folks that came in after me were getting their food orders. I brought this to my servers attention, and he acknowledged that an error was made. I kinda thought that they should have comped the wings as it ended up taking way too much of my time, but maybe I should be happy that they reduced the price? Anyway, other that that unfortunate issue my first visit was ok. I'll consider going back, but I must admit that I was not happy with the process of getting my food order. read more

Came here yesterday with a fellow foodie friend who suggested it. I got "the Diner burger" while my friend for their "Albert burger" ( I believe, I can't exactly remember the name). I also ordered a side of kale salad. Food: The food was good! The burger came with two things patties, bacon, onion, and cheese. It was pretty straightforward. Great flavor and worth the trip down! Atmosphere: I like the atmosphere. Wasn't too busy for a Thursday night. The music had a great vibe. I do believe there's a bar side and a restaurant side, but I am not sure which is which. Service: It took a while for us to get serviced, but nice waiter overall. I doubt its a reoccurring thing. read more

A great neighborhood tavern with good food & lots of tvs to watch football or any game. They are known for their smoked wings which are delicious; no sauce needed. This pub in Inman Park is an amazing spot. It has a fantastic food and drink menu. I sat at the bar and was served by Hannah and Liz. They were both great and so on point with service and providing food and drink options. I had the Buffalo egg rolls and the Cobb salad that were both really tasty. It seems this is one of the hot spots in Atlanta for both good food and exceptional service. They have a great outdoor spot and lots of options for indoor seating with booths and bar. read more

The Albert is like my mama's kitchen, but Tia isn't my mama. The food is delicious, the crowd is often local, and the beer is cold. The fried chicken sandwich, burgers and sautéed green beans are the play if you ask me but I am not a barbecue person. If you're looking for a terrific local watering hole with delicious flavors, this is your place. Some of the bartenders are rude, but so am I, so could care less as long as they still pour a good drink. read more

Best neighborhood restaurant / bar in Inman Park. Been coming here for 8+ years and though the names/ regulars / chefs and menus have changed over time... they consistently prove that they care about their neighbors and provide the best "getaway" from all that 2020 and beyond have brought. Special kudos to Tia ( owner) and her long time staff like Kaitlin, Travis and Aline for providing great service, safety and sassy smiles during these trying times. Not sure how we'd have gotten through the last few years without them. For the few "tourist" reviews stating that any staff at this bar acted subpar in anyway... get over yourself. Try running an establishment and holding your head high 100% of the time. Folks have a bad day once in awhile... patrons should have patience and thanks that these people continue to show up day after day to keep patrons happy. Went for an late afternoon lunch with my toddler because I really wanted to try the burger and was hoping it would be slower business and the kid wouldn't bother anyone then. The burger is as good as the reviews that rave about it. I went with the Diner Burger and fries. Burger was awesome and the fries were on point. Right amount of crisp and salt. I was also surprised that since its more of a bar scene, they are welcoming to kids. They have a high chair and kids menu. My kid also loved his Kids Burger. Beers are cheap and cold, service is attentive and nice, TVs are on sports. Can't wait to go back next week! read more

Love this place. Local joint, kitchen is open 'til 11 PM and they actually keep the kitchen open until 11. Don't miss the bacon cream corn. The signature menu item is ribs and mine were tough. I was thinking not pre-cooked long enough or cooked too long the second time, but the server said they can't get their normal ribs due to a post 4th of July shortage. The place is cool enough to try without the ribs though. Service was friendly, honest and efficient. + They use Bing cherries in their Manhattans :) love that. read more

This was great! Eventide Kolsch + The Western burger + Smoked wings = An awesome dinner! I wasn't expecting to be wowed due to the reviews I read before going but, WOW! Upset that I didn't take a pic before or during the meal but I just kept eating until I came up for Air. The burger looked a lot better than the pics online and the bacon was large and crispy. THIS WAS A JUICY ASS BURGER! The fries were perfectly salted and crisp. I split the wings with the wife (Did the 5 for 7 deal) and immediately regretted it after my first bite. They were almost perfect. Seasoning was just right. Meat could've been a tad juicier but if that's how it always comes then I'll continue to order it. Overall, this was a surprising experience due to the previous reviews. It could've been b/c it was a Thursday night but service was excellent and he answered all our questions without hesitation. We could've parked behind the restaurant but we thought it was for the market store. Ended up in the parking deck and paying 6 and some change for under 2 hrs. Loved it. I'm mad at this place. The Robert or The Herbert or whatever this place is called. This restaurant/bar is the precise manifestation of why I don't take recommendations from people - in particular not media outlets. My mantra has never let me down "Eat with your EYES first". Log onto Yelp and the pictures will tell you everything you need to know. Mind you, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with this (very clean) little neighborhood bar. The decor was tasteful, the TVs were bright and the prices were reasonable. And the music was definitely a vibe. But people talk about the Diner Burger and wings like Anthony Bourdain needs to come film here. The burger was utterly indistinguishable from Shake Shack - and it came recommended by name from a chef from one of Atlanta's most prominent restaurants (think Pricci or H&F). And the wings were fine - I get what they were trying to do with the "smoked" motif, but other traditional BBQ spots do it much much better. My guest and I were seating very quickly and the food flew out but it just.... For someone like Creative Loafing to refer to your wings as one of the top 10 wings in ALL of Atlanta, I was really scratching my head and the giant, rubbery wings that came out of that kitchen. PS: Restaurants should have to submit for a permit to serve Mac n Cheese in the South. It's a privilege, not a right. Have the audacity to put a PINCH of salt in it next time. Please.
