Although their chicken fingers and fries are AMAZING (their blue cheese is pretty good too, pretty sure it's home made) I can't give it a better rating, because it always takes forever to get food if you come at night. I tried calling at 8:30pm last night (a Friday) and line was busy consecutively for 15 minutes, so I went there to order my to-go order. I waited 50 minutes for a single order of fingers and fries. The main issue is that their kitchen is just not Big enough. They need more fryers. It's also a dive. The inside of the place is very dirty. I think this is a place regulars come to drink, and you get looked at my the bar customers like "what are you doing here" when you come in to sit down and wait for your take out order. I never really feel welcome there, but I do love the chicken fingers. Also, one time we went here to dine in and it took a super long time so they gave us some drink chips to use next time so that was cool. read more

The Audubon North. This is one of the few places left that have a reasonably priced menu. Most of the food is made from scratch. The sandwich rolls, French Fries, Chicken fingers, Chili, Soups, all made from scratch. Hand formed burgers, chicken sandwiches where the chicken hangs over the entire bun. These are all hard to find now in any restaurant. Please give this place a try if you have not been there in a while. read more

Stopped here for a quick, cheap bite. Really happy and we will definitely be coming back - you get TONS of food for the price. they have a SUPER limited menu + a few specials I got the 2 pierogie and 2 fingers dinner for $8.50. Um, WOW. Each pierogie (cheese and potato, BTW) was the size of my PALM. The fingers can't even be called fingers - they are basically breaded chicken breasts. TONS of food. (and the meal came with a random dry piece of bread/toast with a smear of what seemed like oil on it? Maybe melted butter? But not good and very dry). I got my pierogies with sauteed onions and they were awesome. The fingers were ordered one medium, one BBQ and finished on the grill - excellent and well cooked despite being huge (sometimes I'm worried about raw or too "wet" chicken) Husband got the 2 fingers + beef on weck dinner (10.95ish?), which came with fresh cut fries (or he could have got garlic pasta). The fries are typical for fresh cut - not very crispy at all and very limp. We passed on those. Fingers, again, basically chicken breasts. And the beef on weck was very flavorful, though it could have been sliced a bit thinner. The meal took a LONG time to come out of the kitchen, though. We got there at 5:20 and ordered right away - food didn't come out until 6pm! Seems odd for food that is deep fried or pan fried..... (oh, and there were only 4 other tables full while we were there) One negative thing to note: We ate in the addition, and it was FREEZING cold (I had my coat and scarf on) - for some reason, on a 30 degree winter day, they had all the ceiling fans going and a wall mounted oscillating fan that blew right on us. Brrrr. (oh, and the women's bathroom was GROSS - sorry guys, but occasionally you gotta scrub into the corners. There's layers of black filth there... makes customers wonder what your kitchens look like with lack of attention to cleaning detail....) Oh, also--- this wasn't an issue down in the "addition" room, but in the main bar room, there was a pretty significant smell of cigarrette smoke, though I did not see anyone smoking. I noticed this both when I entered and when I exited. Odd. A single waitress was handling all the tables, but she was very attentive with bringing refills on my water before I even asked. All drinks served in icy cold frosted (plastic) mugs, which was a nice touch! I'm sure the patio is AWESOME in the summer. Note: there is extra parking in the back! Another note: I stood at the door for a while before the waitress came by and told me to seat myself. Good to know. Hole in the wall bar with excellent wings! From the outside it may not seem like much, but step inside to this quaint neighborhood bar and you are greeted by friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable, and you got popcorn / peanuts to enjoy with your libation of choice. We went for dinner last weekend and we were a little disappointed in the food and the service. We have gone in the past and every thing has always been satisfactory however we asked our server if we could have a side salad instead of fries etc with our fish dinners. She said sure but we when we got our bill we were charged an extra $6 and we were told the reason was that it slows down the cooks because they have to make it. We thought that was a very odd response and shouldn't have been charged also I understand that food costs along with everything else have gone up but the fish that came on our plates was very small. On the positive side the fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Not sure if we'll go back I know there's many places in Western New York that have good fish dinners. read more

I had chicken wings hot. They were well cooked, crispy on outside, moist on inside. However the sauce was lacking. Very little sauce on them, so it was almost dry and it was not even close to hot. Had to douse with the hot sauce squeeze bottle they put on the table. read more

Friday evening I went to get some chicken wings and fries, it was busy upstairs so decided to sit downstairs. My wings took exactly one hour to get there. The service was really bad, my order was small and simple yet it took so long. The waitress was more interested in attending her regulars and larger tables. By the time wings got there I wasn't even hungry anymore and the fries were half burned. They definitely have one of the best chicken wings but there service isn't that great . Took my mother with me, talked all the good things about this place and was totally embarrassed. What a wonderful wonderful dive. Lots of TVs. We avoided the bar area and sat "downstairs" which is a converted garage overlooking a very nice concrete patio with big benches to eat at. Our waitress was a mind reader for putting the hockey game on without being asked. Where else can you go for a double order of wings & a pitcher of beer/pop for under $20? They also had a Polish platter as a special which was fingers, pierogis and sausage. I don't recall my Polish family serving chicken fingers with their fresh sausage & pierogis for Christmas dinner. This place gives no F's and its equally hilarious as it is awesome. I ordered the weck and wing combo. I also appreciate this place going full Buffalo with that offering. This was the BEST beef on weck I've ever had. The roll was fresh, salty and not soggy. The beef was perfect - tender but not chewy. The wings were good. Mine were kind of small and not as meaty as I'd like but they were cooked perfectly. Really good medium sauce with a nice crisp skin. And they give you a big homemade container of blea cheese. They even gave me a side of garlic pasta. Why on Earth they're offering me garlic pasta i'll never understand but that was also delicious. Add a handful of carrots to that and you have a big bountiful meal for $10.95. My GF let me try a pierogi and those were homemade and also incredibly delicious. Chicken fingers were amazing as well. The total bill was $21.15. I'm in heaven. The only complaint I can think of is the food took a pretty long time. A hidden gem in the Northtowns! Sure.... it's totally a dive.... but when a dive has food this delicious, it's a place that should be visited time and time again! We were warmly greeted by the friendly hostess who turned out to be our delightful waitress. There's a menu with about 15 choices (sandwiches and burgers and beef on weck and a few salads) as well as a specials board attached to the wall. My son and I both had the "Two Chicken Fingers (hot) and Two Pierogies" from the specials board, and we couldn't have been happier. Everything is made in house. The delicious chicken fingers are hand cut and breaded. The bleu cheese dressing is house-made. The pierogies are rolled and stuffed as though by a Polish grandma. They are huge, sautéed in butter and onions, and possibly the best we've ever had. Even the bread is made in house. Wow! Nothing fancy, but mighty tasty.... and the prices are reasonable. I was super disappointed considering multiple people recommended this spot to us. I don't even know what the food tastes like because we watched in horror as our food was put together on the bar in front of patrons and then man handled. The cook proceeded to take the fries off the plate and put them in a to go box for another customer. Then picked up my husbands hamburger off his roll with his gloved hand (thank God there was a glove) to remove the cheese that they put on. He then threw it back on the grill. We were so stunned that when the waitress ( who was nice and why they are getting 1 star) brought the wings over we kindly said that what he did was not acceptable. Long story short we took the wings to go, did not take the other food which then got some snarky remarks from the cook. If you have an open kitchen your food prep better be spot on. Ok, ordered take out tonight, two wing and beef combo's, one with a pasta side other with fries. I get home and the fries are missing, damn. #1, upset because order is not complete, #2 because the fries are so damn good. The wings and beef were great, and I like the way they seperate the beef from the roll so it's not soggy when you get home. Live in Grand Island, so too far to go back and get the fries, stuff happens.
