This is a down home bar with a few food items for lunch. The ambiance is kind of like a dive bar with a remodeled garage used as a dining room. The food is mainly deep fried, so it is definitely not a diet destination. But the quality of the food is very good. Simply the best chicken fingers available, hands down. The outside is mad sketch--but once you get past the bolted/concrete "fight club confused for country club" college town bar entrance you're all like, WOAH! Because the food is pretty frickin' amazing. The tenders are one of their specialties; they come hand-breaded and are huge. You could easily fill an entire plate with just two. I think they should call them "dino" fingers. The fries are also handcut and delish! We ordered a double order-- eight plus a huge plate of fries for about a $20 tab and it was well worth it! We were there for about two hours finishing them off. Downside is that they are not on SkipTheDishes; we asked our server about this and she sort or got defensive about it. As in, "We are a small establishment and don't have the manpower to do deliveries right now" which is understandable. This place is excellent. The interior is pretty damn cool. The WINGS are AWESOME!!! Can't wait for pierogie night. Two issues: a small amount of cigarette smoke coming from somewhere, probably customers just exiting and re-entering after a smoke. Used to be one of my favorite local spots, but if you don't stop in at the right time you will never find a spot at the bar to sit. (Which I prefer). Also they switched their hand cut fries to a smaller cut. Not a clue why, maybe cooking time? Whatever their reasoning it's not worth it. New fries are thin and limp. Yes, limp. Much better than the Audobon South location, and the West and East are comparable. OK, I made that up. What to get: Weck and Wings combo. Went back there recently and the food didn't seem as good (or as juicy) as the old times. Lovely cozy dingy-bar atmosphere, delicious and cheap wings, fantastic beef on weck, and awesome specials. It has some amazing Thai, Chinese, Indian, Puerto Rican, BBQ, Polish... it has my fave Italian on earth (Michael's among many more), it has the best Chicken Souvlaki on earth (Alton's, among many more), the best Pizza on Earth (Imperial, Paulys, Bozannas, Zips, and many more), the best Wings by far (Zips and many more), the best meat sandwiches (Charlie The Butcher's and more), the best bar food, the best fish sandwich (Bailey Seafood), it's just incomparable as far as small towns go. My friend and I went to Audubon north last Saturday and were highly impressed. First thing we loved was that as soon as you walked in the staff introduced themselves and asked your names. That to me shows they care a lot about their customers and want to make you feel right at home. Second thing we loved was the dive bar atmosphere were you can have great food for a great price and make new friends while being there. We loved the chicken fingers. WTF? My super cheap sister and brother-in-law take me here right after they pick me up at the airport EVERY time I come to visit.... to satisfy my jonesin' for wings and they always offer to pay! Before you read on, please remember that this place is absolutely a dive. That being said, it is an excellent one. Best chicken fingers ever, hands down. They cut the fingers themselves - these guys were never frozen, never processed, always delicious. We used to frequent this place in college and I can't believe it took us so long to go back. The prices? It's as if they forgot it turned 1995. So cheap. (2 huge fingers, 1 homemade & also huge pierogi, with all the fixings, for $6.50?!?) The reason my review is missing one star: It was absolutely freezing. Not like, a little chilly... freezing. We kept our outside coats on the whole time we were there, which I think goes a little beyond the line of acceptable for a dive. My water, which admittedly came in a frosty mug and with lots of ice, actually became more frozen as we sat there. I'm a sailor so I'm most comfortable at a casual dive bar. This is by far my favorite bar in the Amherst area. There is a mixed crowd here. From the sports fanatic (avoid MNF times if you want to drink your beer in peace) to the townie to the broke college kid. The prices here are insanely low and the bartenders are wonderfully friendly with just the right amount of Sass - Jolene S is definitely my favorite! :) But seriously, the place is clean for a popular but down to earth sports bar. The exterior looks like someone's house rather than a bar. Monday nights have a $1.50 Rolling Rock pint special and 40 cent wing night. I like to order mine extra crispy. Saw some good reviews on yelp so decided to hop on over to this bar for some beer and wings. I was skeptical to say the least when I pulled into the parking lot to what looked like a house but couldnt have been more of an amazing surprise. All the staff are adorable and couldnt be nicer/more helpful. Cheap drinks and great food deals. The wings are some of the best I've eaten and I've been in buffalo for over 21 years and tried wings at every dive bar along the way. Chicken fingers hands down the best I've had - I'm pretty sure they make them fresh. They have 50 cent wings and 1.50 pints of rolling rock on mondays and everyday they do a great chicken finger and pitcher or wings and a pitcher deal. As we walked in we were greeted by an older man behind the bar who told us to take a see anywhere we would like. Also, this place was PACKED during lunch hour. My friend and I had to make our own parking spots it was just a mad house! We decided to go with one of the specials they offer. It's two single chicken finger orders and a pitcher of beer (any kind) for $22.50!!! Can you say cheap!? Our waitress was great we rly enjoyed her, she recommended we do the special. The chicken fingers at this place are not only deep friend but grilled as well, that's what makes them so good. They are huge!! We got so many with our order. I live 13.2 miles (so google says) away from Audubon North. We haven't been into any restaurant in over a year due to this stupid covid. We have been ordering from different restaurants and figured we would do A.N. seeing as we miss their food. First time we have ordered takeout from them and we were very pleased with there offerings. I ordered the fingers (of course) , wife got wings, with the roast beef sandwich and fries. The beef was generous AND wrapped in foil, separate of the roll (nice touch guys). We warmed everything when I got home and it was great. Everything was as good as I remembered and EVEN the wife was happy. We will be back now that I know it holds up well on the journey home. I love this place. It's a total dive and the wings/chicken fingers are great. The chicken fingers on the pit are some of the best I've had. I've never had anything other than wings or chicken fingers here so I couldn't really tell you what anything else is like. The bar tenders/waitresses are friendly. You'll see a lot of regulars who will give you strange looks when you first come in. If you have a peanut allergy you shouldn't go here. They have peanuts in the shell in bowls all over the place. Great if you like peanuts, bad if you are allergic to them. Did I mention this place is a dive? The tables are folding plastic tables and the last time I was there they had lawn chairs for you to use at them. There is also carpet on the walls. Seriously, Guy Fieri needs to feature the Audubon North on his show, Drive-ins, Diners & Dives. Thats how good it is. Whenever friends or family visit from back home, I take them here. I used to live across the street from this place and literally ate there every day for about two years. the food is amazing, everything is home made down to the bread that they use. You can literally point at anything on the menu and it will convince you to come back soon. Their specials are pretty fantastic. The people are awesome, from the owner to the employees to the fellow patrons. For the entire time I spent living in this neighborhood, the Audobon was essentially my living room where I watched sports, drank, laughed, and manjed on some terrific food. The memories i have forged here will last a life time. I still go back when I can. I have to go an hour out of my way most of the time when the craving is too strong for me to resist, but its totally worth it. Great spot to grab some good homemade food, including the chicken wings and fingers! The fingers are so soft and tender... mmm they are delicious! I love ordering the Garlic Pasta. It's yummaayy in maahhh tummaayy. Also, try the sandwiches here. I had a BLT sandwich, and it actually had yummy fresh tomatoes, tasty crunchy bacon, and leafy GREEN lettuce. The bread was toasted nicely, although a little sensitive for my mouth (too scratchy). I also recommend the Long Island Iced Tea, it's great! It was served in a tall beer mug with some ice. My husband and I went for the first time last evening for the wings and pitcher of beer special. The wings were fantastic! Crisp and delicious! We got half barbecue which were put on the grill and half traditional medium and WE LOVED THEM. The home made blue cheese was plentiful and so yummy with the celery and carrot stix. This place is a gem. My husband and I were sick of having nowhere locally to go that wasn't a chain. We always ended up driving down to Allen and would pay $75+ for lunch or dinner and drinks. We came to the Audubon and had the best wings and fingers ever. We discovered medium, grilled wings here, to die for. We had 6 beers total one day, along with wings and fries and I think it was under $30. If you could care less about the craft beers and hipsters and just want a bud and great wings/fingers/fries, come here, you won't regret it. The only thing that I'm sad about is that it took me almost 2 year of living up here to discover it! My husband got the Royal Melt, with garlic pasta and he said it was really good. I ended up getting the Polish Platter - had homemade pierogi, sausage, sauerkraut, garlic toast, and 2 gigantic chicken fingers (tossed in Medium) and homemade bleu cheese to dip. Absolute GEM! This place is definitely a dive bar, but please don't let that stop you! The wing & beer pitcher special is out of this world, unheard of really! While I do enjoy my wings more saucy, they were delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of BBQ sauce on wings (the hotter the better for me!) but Audubons we're sinfully delicious. Fries are house made and so so good. We ordered two plates and honestly should've ordered two more! They were gone in a flash, no ketchup needed Blue cheese is thick and tasty and PLENTY of carrots to go around. Honestly can't think of 1 bad thing to say about the food. Ordered double wings: 1/2 hot bbq, 1/2 medium, extra crispy. Ordered single finger hot. First, when I arrived my order was ready and I was told they can't process card. Went to get cash. Returned (against everything inside me) and picked up my food. Which was ordered xtra crispy and has been sealed up for at least 20 extra mins now. Drove home (6min drive), the fries (which were mandatory with the fingers), were soggy and on top of the fingers. The fingers were fatty and the breading was falling off. There was NO TASTE OF SAUCE. Try the wings, they tasted 3days old. The hot bbq were terrible. Some wings were so large they were flabby, the sauce wasn't spicy at all, and they were on the verge of cold. AS SHOULD BE EXPECTED. The medium were decent 'old' wings. These tasted as if you had left overs. Decent taste, but I JUST ORDERED THEM! Now let's talk blue cheese. Who places garlic in the blue cheese. Idk who is reviewing this place but I will NEVER come back here! Elmo's is down the street and I try this place. What in the world would you come here for when Elmo's has the same golden product every time. I highly suggest rethinking this establishment. Ate here on a fairly busy, nothing crazy Friday, and it was an awful experience. We had 7 adults and 2 kids and we waited well over an hr. for the food!! Meanwhile, groups that came half hr or more after us were served well before us. A couple of wings and fish fry and over hr? Picked up a double order of wings last night. I ordered them extra hot and extra crispy. They were delicious! Cooked perfectly and were still crispy when I got them home. Generous portions of bleu cheese, celery and carrots on the side (the real ones, not the little bleached shaped ones). The staff at the bar was super-friendly too.
