Owned by former NHL hockey player Teemu Selänne, who also owns the Selanne Steak Tavern next door. Cute little place with nice ambience. Friendly staff. Large variety of sweet and some savory baked goods. Just two bar stools inside. But a variety of tables and chairs outside. Probably the best thing they had was the spinach and feta pastry. That was better than the ham and cheese. As for their sweet bakery items, they lean towards being dry. I personally like things that are moist and gooey. Especially for things like cinnamon rolls and cookies. The coffee cake and the brown sugar bang pie, aka gourmet poptart, were fine. read more

Editing this review to add that we got a slice of banana bread to go and had it the next day. I have never had a tastier slice of banana bread, from flavor to consistency. I will be dreaming about the b8kery's banana bread until I return..... We had a great time at the b8kery! My partner and I split a crookie ($10). A little pricey, but it was huge, tasty, and filled us both up! I loved the plate they put it on for us to enjoy at one of their cute outside tables. The best coffee and pastries around! The pink tile and ambience transports you back to the 1950's and reminds me of Main Street at Disneyland. I was so excited that The coffee is from caffe luxxe- which is very high quality coffee and my favorite coffee in LA. I'm so glad they have this cute new addition to Laguna. I love all of the drinks- especially the churro and cookie latte. Everything is fresh baked daily and they always have new pastries when I go in! I love the spinach and feta + ham & cheese croissant, gf donut muffin, bang pies, hidden pb blossum, chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls, and everything I tried! Did not like the iced matcha latte, it just tasted like milk. I really wanted to like the strawberry pop tarts or the bang pies but it was just a lot of strawberry jelly. We really only tried this place because it was short walk from our hotel and then a short walk down to the beach so we can have a little snack with a view. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this cafe. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and butter croissant. The latte had an excessive amount of foam and was more inline with a cappuccino. The croissant came toasted. Unfortunately it's one of those mass produced pastries with a soft exterior and a doughy interior, nothing how a croissant should be. Service was pretty slow considering how slow they were. For parking, you'll have to go behind the shop into the alley and maybe you'll find an open spot. Quite overpriced for what it is. read more

This is the new bakery opened in the space formerly occupied by Andrei's, in the alley behind the Selene restaurant. The space has been brightened up and completely upgraded, but I found the almond croissant to be very average. The filling wasn't baked inside, it was dropped in after baking in a somewhat gloppy fashion. At $7, it was completely overpriced. Won't be going back as other options in town have better croissants. We searched high & low for a bakery to cater our wedding in Laguna Beach. Unfortunately we didn't hear back from other companies, even those who were recommended to us through our venue. But, from the initial phone conversation with the staff at The B8kery , to our wedding day, the service, communication, & follow through have been amazing!! Lia & Madison helped us customize a Dessert Bar and wedding cake that fit our personal taste and wedding aesthetic. We received lots of compliments on all of the pastries from our guests! The cookies, brownies, strawberries, & red velvet cake were some of the best we've ever had!!! The morning of the wedding, my Dad & Husband bought a cinnamon roll & muffins for breakfast too, and said they were the best they've ever had! Oh man, I wanted to like it. I drove from CdM reminiscing about Andre's, the former bakery in this location. The girls working were very nice. The food was disappointing. I saw a red flag when I ordered a ham sandwich and saw it being unwrapped from cling wrap like an airport sandwich. It came on a plate with nothing else. The bread was soggy in parts and whatever herb was in it was wilted and unappetizing. The cheese? sauce in it was uneven. I would not recommend, I regretted ordering it. I also got a couple of small baked items. They were good, but nothing I couldn't get at other bakeries in the area. For $25 and making the drive there, I wouldn't come back. read more

Visited the charming bakery recently. It's located in an inviting location with a courtyard area. The pastries were DELICIOUS! I actually tried a few different pastries. The "bang pies" - love the name btw - were above and beyond what can be expected from what looks to be a pop tart as first blush. Waaaaaay better. The ham and cheese croissant was delicate and savory (you'll want to just let it rest in your mouth a bit). And let's not forget the sticky bun (mmmmm). In all cases, there is just something about the dough used... The coffee was excellent. I got a churro latte. It basically pairs well with everything. I got there later in the morning, so while I enjoyed the outdoor scenery they were swapping the breakfast for afternoon treats. While I didn't try them, visually, I'm not sure you'll find a better looking brownie. The staff was accommodating and the food spectacular. I highly recommend. read more

this is based on service. the person working was really nice but my god was she slow. i waited just under 10 minutes for her to take my order as the only customer in the store. in that time she made exactly 2 drinks. as a former barista it kinda pained me. they really need to retrain their staff on efficiency or have 2 people up front. especially for an $8 latte that was just ok. also waited over 5 minutes for my drink. again no other people in the store. i will say it is a very cute tucked away storefront. never got a pastry but they looked good. seemed overpriced but i've read they're made in house? read more
