    California Dream bagel
    John H.

We wanted a late breakfast, and this place was right around the corner. It's a cozy little spot. The service is excellent. I got a California dream bagel. That comes with avocado and alfalfa sprouts. It came out quickly and was delicious. I had a cup of coffee they had five to choose from. My wife got a plain bagel with bacon. A really good place for a light breakfast.

Quality/Quantity - Turkey Avocado Sandwich - Daughter and I on our father/daughter trip and did not want to over eat before going to the aquarium. So we split a Turkey Avocado Sandwich. It had good proportions of fillings to a bagel. Overall, it was good. Atmosphere - Decent size location, but everyone seemed to take their food to-go. Free 1 hour street parking. Clean and organized location. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 2pm or 3pm, see picture. Yelp's hours differ. Service - The employee was super friendly, welcoming, etc. The "owners" were efficient but barely said a word... Price - $14, expensive in my opinion for what we got. Especially since I make this at home often. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success with your 6 locations.

I love this place! The bagels are super fresh and have that perfect balance between doughy and airy - also a good crunch when toasted. My wife and I try and stop here every time we are visiting the coast. You can't go wrong with the bagels but my preference is the jalapeño cheddar, sourdough, garlic or onion. The service is quick and staff is solid.

The New Yorker Sandwich w garlic bagel

I was craving a bagel for a quick breakfast and was recommended this by a friend. I ended up with getting the New Yorker which basically was a garlic bagel with cream cheese and salmon lox. The mount of salmon was very small and I feel like I got cheated out here when that's the best part of the bagel. The bagel itself was fresh, it was a little on the small side though. I feel like the bagel to cream cheese ratio it could've been more on the cream cheese. Overall a decent bagel place but for the price you pay I feel like I could've gotten more out of this compared to other bagel spots.

I'm from NY and this is the only place on the west coast that I genuinely like the bagels from. Last time I went I got 2 pickles, which happen to be my favorite food. Thank you for being here.

This was a fun find. We were craving bagel sandwiches. First time we came it was delicious with sausage sandwich on onion bagel (bagel was freshly made... some of the onions were a little charred so picked those out). Second time I tried the sausage sandwich with cheddar bagel and it was great. This is definitely a place we'd stop by again if in town.

The staff here are super sweet, I got a bagel sandwich for the first time and it was amazingly delicious!!!

    Uneditable bagels, we threw away.

Disappointing. Knew the minute I walked in I should've walked out. Slightly dirty by the coffee service and subpar area. Didn't have the cream cheese I wanted but the plain was horrible. Don't have a picture because after one bite we threw the bagels away. PS. Took a picture of the trash can.

Exactly what I wanted. My breakfast here was amazing!!! Service was efficient and it's a clean place!

The cherry croissant was perfectly buttery and flaky, with the acidity of the cherry adding just the right kick to this breakfast pastry. I was initially hesitant on getting the clam chowder at a bakery and was thinking of getting it at a seafood restaurant on Cannery Row, but the reviews were glowing and the price was reasonable. I'm glad I took a chance on it, because the bowl was chockful with clams, potatoes, celery, and a briny creamy seafood broth base. The ambiance in this bakery is great- there's a beautiful wall mural on the back wall of this bakery and lots of inside seating. Don't miss out on this spot!

Something has definitely changed. I don't know if it's new ownership or a change in management, but this visit was incredibly disappointing. I paid $14.95 for a ham and cheese sandwich that had just two slices of ham, two slices of cheese, and what tasted like day old bread. It was dry, underwhelming, and nowhere near the quality I remembered. It's disappointing to see a place I loved go downhill. I really hope they can get back to what made them so special. Very simple but high quality ingredients.

Super open and airy, there's a separate room off to the side with some haphazardly laid out tables and seats. The main retail area is pretty busy with people lined up placing orders/waiting for an order, or people fixing up their coffee drinks. Now even though I took my goods to-go I had to go out to their patio to find a restroom. That outdoor area is totally cool, totally out in the open but you're like in a square inside a fort, surrounded by walls, so you can't see any street action. But you're totally open to roam in here from the street. Next time I'm in this area, I'm definitely gonna make time to chill on that patio. Cold Brew ($6.50/5*) Perfect to my taste, smooth and mellow on the roast. Pricey for a small cup but this is a touristy area. Banana Bread Slice ($5.25/4*) Very thick slice. Super soft yet moist in the center but firmer and more well done on the edges. Pretty dark in color, maybe some cocoa powder went in but there were also tiny hits of dark chocolate throughout. Mild natural banana flavor, wished it were stronger but that's me. Blue Corn Cookie ($5/5*) Never had a cookie like this before but I was pretty impressed. Kinda like a cornbread but made into the texture of a good cookie, so it was crisp and buttery on the bottom and moist and chewy in the center. All whilst having a pronounced corn meal flavor and texture. Major props for exposing me to something new that I enjoyed immensely. Went great with sips of black cold brew. Most other things in their pastry case seemed a tad fancier than most other regular coffee shops.
