    "Sourdough" bagel.

Wrinkly sad looking bagels with a tough texture. Bagels should be on point if that's literally what your name is. Getting rid of pumpernickel was a bad move. We'll miss this place, hope it can turn around.

Thank you Bagel Bakery for a fantastic bagel breakfast. I ordered online but still had to wait a few minutes when we arrived. They were busy! Always a good sign. I ordered a sesame bagel with lox spread, tomato and cucumber. Overall, a solid sandwich! I opted to have my bagel toasted, but not sure it was. Despite that, the bagel was big, just soft enough and slightly chewy like I prefer. I enjoyed it! They don't have an everything bagel on their menu, but I think their "super seed" bagel is basically an everything. We also got a couple cups of their hazelnut drip coffee and it was delicious. Lots of hazelnut flavor and not watered down at all. Would recommend swinging by The Bagel Bakery if you have a hankering for a bagel. Plenty of parking available in the lot! I recommend ordering ahead to avoid the line.

    New Yorker

Stopped at this spot while charging at the Tesla superchargers. Service was fast and prompt, and the lady who helped us was very sweet. I got the New Yorker because I LOVE anything smoked salmon lox, and this sandwich was great. The one criticism I have is that the plain bagel I got was slightly stale.. but I'm assuming it's because we arrived at the end of the day, a little after an hour before closing. I did not mind all that much because the amount of salmon and cream cheese was perfect, and I even requested if I can have capers on my sandwich and I was able to get it no questions asked :) while this was a slight flaw, it's not enough for me to avoid this place. I will definitely come back whenever I make a trip to Monterey.

The vegetarian no tomatoes add turkey

One word, trash. I have been going to Bagel Bakery for a long time. I remember when you could get a bagel sandwich for less than $5. The price of your sandwich included the bagel, some were 10c more. Today I paid almost $11 for a Superseed bagel with "the vegetarian" which is Tomatoes Sprouts Avocado Onions Mayo and mustard I asked for no tomato add turkey. Two pieces of turkey cost $3. The "vegetarian" is $5.95 So I guess they charge for the bagel too- I'm sorry but this is just outrageous. I understand inflation, but you can't tell me this bagel cost more than $2-$3 total. The guy who helped me was super sweet. It's not his fault that the quality is less than it used to be and the cost has more than tripled. You could order a meal in a sit down restaurant for the same $11.

Used to be my bagel go to. No more folks. $24 for 2 BLT croissants that are mostly lettuce. There sign states $9.45- that's for the bacon, lettuce, tomato only.

This location is within a plaza of stores! There's a Starbucks on the other side of the building and acress the parking lot is either target or Costco, such a good place to stop out, especially those with Tesla's. The bagel itself was amazing and tasteful. It was super easy to order and then pay afterward, the person taking our order definitely was the lady who ran the place ! She was quick and made sure everything was going steady. The pull apart was nice and these definitely taste good when they are fresh. My friends and I enjoyed ours before getting back on the road home from Monterey. The store feels like a normal bagel shop with the idea of making it into a sandwich. Which was exactly what it was doing! I would recommend stopping by if you don't want to always get food from Starbucks!

Great fresh sandwiches. I usually get the breakfast sandwich. I tried the club on a plain bagel and it was so delicious

No flavor with my cinnamon raisin bagel. Stale. Waste of $15. Threw ours in the trash. Very disappointed.

We need a new bagel place around here. Hard and old bagels served today. Its sad because back in the day the bagels were bomb.

It didn't look like it died down which is awesome for this business. I believe I waited 20-30 minutes in line before I reached the display case. There were so many delicious things to choose from, it was a challenge to decide! I opted for a croissant sandwich, a blue corn cookie, and some sweet treats for the beach. I also ordered a seasonal latte, I believe it was cherry chocolate with oat milk less sweet. There's a nice outdoor seating area with many tables in chairs. Since the weather was nice we decided to stop and eat for a bit. The ambience was very nice and calm. The food was delicious and their house made pickles were fantastic. They were crisp, fresh, and complimented the turkey sandwich so well. The blue corn cookie was very interesting and reminiscent of a tortilla chip. I'd definitely come back here if I were in the area.

Charming bakery and cafe with plenty of outdoor seating in the back connecting garden…read more Nice flaky, buttery dough on their pastries. Latte was decent, not too bitter or acidic and it was creamy They try a lot of variations for pastries, both savory and sweet! The savory danish was really tasty and there was some pickled / citrus component that added more depth and made it super interesting to eat! The salmon croissant was alright, had a really nice flaky crust but the filling tasted kinda gamey , would've been nice to have another component to balance it out. Cookies were niceeeee the buckwheat choco cookie had nice amounts of sea salt and was like a brownie texture on the inside. Choco chip cookie was thin and crispy on the outside with chocolate blobs spread around, quite sweet though There was a line going out the door but only had to wait around 15 min!

To say I am disappointed in the $70 Birthday cake my husband purchased is an understatement…read more He ordered a lemon cake with raspberry preserves with buttercream icing. What we received was a dry cake with hardly any flavor. My Mother thought it was just a yellow cake, she couldn't even taste the lemon. And she is an experienced baker. She made our lemon and raspberry wedding cake, that my husband was trying to recreate. The raspberry "preserves" were gelatinous, like pie filling from a can. Preserves should be a jam like consistency, only with larger fruit pieces. But sadly, this was goopy and artificial tasting. And the buttercream was greasy, not creamy, like it was made from Crisco shortening (not butter), sugar and water. It didn't even have any flavor (maybe they forgot to put vanilla extract in it?) Even the construction of the cake was poor. They clearly didn't put enough batter in the pans. Normally you shave the rounded top off to make it flat. This bakery just added tons of icing in an attempt to make up for the rounded edges. Which also meant there were barely any raspberry "preserves" in between the layers. And last but not least. When my husband special ordered the cake (in person) he asked for white sprinkles. When he arrived to pick up the cake, it wasn't ready. And they told him they didn't have white sprinkles. And offered to cover the entire cake in tiny rock hard pearls, that are typically only used sparingly for decorative purposes. Because they are so hard, many decorators recommend removing them before eating! My Dad bit into it and said it was like trying to eat buck shot. My Father has never met a cake or sweet he didn't like, until now. He didn't want another piece during his entire visit. My mother and I didn't even finish our first piece. To charge $70 for this 8" cake was just criminal. I would have returned it if I could.
