    Tuna salad bagel sandwich

Came in at 7:16 and expected an online order I made for 7:15 to be ready, as I ordered it ahead of time so I could grab it and leave. I get to the front counter and I'm just standing there waiting for at least 1/5 of the people working in the front to come ask me what I need. I even made eye contact with 2 people just for me to stand there for another 5 mins and get ignored before I had to go up to someone on the other side of the room and ask if my order was ready. And then just for them to tell me it'll be ready in a few minutes...it took 10min. And when I get to finally open my food, I find the paper wrapping they used is in the middle of my sandwich. Food is mediocre and paper is an ingredient apparently now in bagel sandwiches. Had to throw away the bagel because of how hard and stale it was. Won't be coming here again.

The bagels here are fresh and this place is a Bellingham institution. It's been here for over 40 years I think and it hasn't changed much and that's a good thing. Fast and friendly service and is the perfect size and seating for a bagel joint. Also has cool local art on the walls. Definitely a place to visit when you..... visit.

After taxes and tips, it's $15 for one sandwich bagel. Gotta take that in!

Came here for decades. This place used to be super cool. Fresh, very tasty bagels in a nice old building downtown. Now it's a luxury bagel money squeezing shop. Quality not even close to where it was years ago. Questionable customer service. Absurd prices! Not a repeat!

Best strawberry jelly we've ever tasted. Bob couldn't wait!

Dad and I absolutely loved our breakfast here! Dad is a lifelong strawberry lover, and The Bagelry has the best house-made strawberry preserves ever. It was delicious, and they were generous with the smear. Any chance we could get them to sell their heavenly berry concoction by the jar? Either way, we'll definitely visit again when we're in town.

I grew up in Bellingham and worked downtown Bellingham for many years and I always went to the bagelry. It was a nice morning meal to get my day started. The owners were great back in the day but not sure if they still own it. I don't live in Bellingham anymore so when I visit I always stop in. It's a delicious treat and brings back so many memories. Always puts a smile on my face! I always get the bialy bagel with Italian spread it's my go to! The Bialy bagels are a softer texture than bagels and have a thin, cracker like center rather than a hole. They are topped with poppy seed & Onions. Delish that is all I can say! There's usually a line inside cause they just do bagels right!

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! These were so delicious I ordered two more batches to have at home. Lovely espresso martini to end it all.

We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess at a table in DT Fairhaven, and our server was the bartender. After being seated, we waited a long time without anyone taking our order. We eventually asked if we had a server and were told it was him, with no apology or explanation. We ordered drinks and food, but after more than 40 minutes, we noticed two tables seated after us had already been served, finished eating, and were leaving. At that point, we asked for the check and said we would not be staying. About 15 minutes later, the server returned with our food instead of the check. We declined the meal and sent it back. He then asked if we wanted it boxed to go, which we also declined. His reaction suggested frustration rather than understanding. We never got to try the food, so we can't comment on it. The service, however, was well below expectations given the restaurant's reputation. This was lunch on July 15, 2026. We may try The Black Cat again in the future, hoping this was just an off day.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a young boy, attending special family dinners or just going to get pizza after soccer practice. Now well into adulthood I still find myself coming here with my wife for an excellent dining experience, any time or day of the week. This week we decided to go in for brunch, and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a dreary Washington morning. When you walk into this cozy little restaurant the smells of fresh breads and fried potatoes invite you into an elevated breakfast experience. Our hostess sat us down at a table almost immediately with the same friendly smile and welcoming attitude that I have come to expect from the staff at the fork. After sitting down and sipping of fresh squeezed orange juice we ordered two of our favorite breakfast plates. Chicken Fried Steak, and Corned Beef Hash. The Corned Beef Hash consisted two poached eggs sitting on a heaping pile of shredded corned beef that was both crispy and tender. Typically this dish is served with peppers and onions, but on this trip my wife opted out and the chef was happy to oblige our request. I can say from prior experiences that the peppers and onions are a fantastic addition to this mix. I went with the Chicken fried steak. A classic breakfast that requires a large appetite to face on your own! The cube steak was breaded and fried with the traditional seasonings, then covered in a house made gravy that was so rich and flavorful I couldn't put my fork down. I ordered mine with over medium eggs that were cooked perfectly, something that other kitchens can rarely get right. If you are a fan of Chicken Fried Steak then you must try this one! Both of our plates came with a large portion of golden brown home fries, and a fluffy biscuit served with honey butter and a peach preserve. Our server was extremely nice and very attentive. Although the restaurant was fairly busy she made sure our every need was taken care of :) I once again left the fork feeling full, and extremely satisfied. If the doors to this amazing restaurant are open, I will definitely be coming back again and again.

After the first bite, there was a puddle of blood on her plate. She did not eat the hamburger and when the server picked it up and saw the food on the plate, she didn't even make a comment. Overall, the service was not very friendly or attentive. Management needs to focus on customer experience.
