I have been in Texas since February and this is THE most authentic Thai place in my area. I'm very happy to say everything we ordered (nephew date)hit so good I took all the leftovers. This little gem transported me back to Thailand they had more than a few things most American Thai places don't have. I placed a to-go order through The Bankok's website for one order of teriyaki, and one order of the grilled chicken while in the Kroger's parking lot from across the street. While I found the website to be user friendly & the interior decor of the restaurant lovely, the handling of my non-complex order could have been handled better. Upon arrival twenty minutes later, the attractive, 40ish female (I presumed to be the manager) indicated that I ordered two teriyaki orders. No, I didn't. I ordered one teriyaki, and one grilled chicken. The lady then proceeded to tell me that I was wrong, to which I requested nicely for my order to be fulfilled. The lady seemed to cop a slight attitude, yet reluctantly strolled back into the kitchen and asked for the chef to remake the order. Needless to say, my original and correct order was fixed within 10 minutes. Food quality is good, as well as presentation. The seasoning & explosion of many different flavors within the teriyaki appealed to my appetite, yet the end result of the evening's experience left me with something else that was of a mini explosion, as I was literally peeing from out of my butt. Gave this place another try after being invited out for dinner. The food is fantastic and I'm not sure why the first visit wasn't as memorable. I got the Pad See Ew (level 3 spicy) and friend got the Pad Key Mao (drunken noodles level 3 spicy). It was mid level but still came out pretty spicy, and I like spicy! I feel like level 5 would have just been a stomach ache. Good portion, generous amount of protein and veggies with the noodles and not too greasy. Flavors were spot on and exactly what I was craving. I saw a piping hot Tom Yum Goong going to a table on our way out and that's next on the list to try! Had to knock off a star for slow seating time and wait time for food but I think they only had one server for the evening. She was very kind and was apologetic about the wait. I stopped by for a quick lunch because I saw the lunch special sign outside of the door. I opted for the pad kee mao with tofu at a spice level of 4/5. The lunch specials come with a spring roll or egg roll and a small salad. The salad is an iceberg salad with your choice of dressing and the egg roll was delicious. The pad kee mao was spicy and cleared my sinuses which is exactly what I needed. The fresh tomatoes and bell peppers add a depth of flavor. The noodles are made in house and the sauce was enough to coat the entire dish. The tofu was not very crispy but it tasted just like that making sauce. Yummy Thai Food! I seems to always get the usual from any Thai restaurant which is the Chicken Panang or the Drunken Noodles. This time I opted for the Drunken noodles with chicken and a level 3. There was a lot of chicken and not a lot of noodles. The meal was delicious though and very flavorful. I was able to try the Panang Curry and it was really good. The roti was very good as well and great for dipping in the curry. The mango stick rice dessert is really good here as well. The fried banana is what sold me along with their coconut milk ice cream. I think I'll order the coconut milk ice cream for myself next time and not share. It was so good and it also had peanuts mixed in which made it interesting but it was sooo good. My friends had their specialty duck curry dishes. Which are very good! Can't go wrong with red curry and duck. My fav apps are the fried dumplings and cream cheese wontons. I didn't like the fried egg rolls (Thai spring rolls) or the bamboo shrimp. Side of roti is a must if you have some curry. It is sooo flakey and buttery! A hint of sweetness. Dip it into some curry... Divine!!! I was already full. But I managed to eat a few slices of roti. The Thai tea is also very good here too. Service is fine. Nothing to complain here. Atmosphere is usually chill and quieter. I haven't seen it packed busy here. Usually just 2-3 tables full. The sticky rice dessert is super delicious! We all started off with the crab rangoons, and the dumplings. While the rangoons were tasty, the dumplings tasted frozen/store bought. Still, a decent way to start the meal. I ordered the Duck kra pow, a dish of sauteed duck with basil and spices. The flavor was wonderful, although the dish was covered in fried thai basil leaves...which was a bit too much; it overwhelmed the flavor of the dish. My friends got the pad see ew (a tasty mainstay), and duck curry, which had plenty of flavor and may have been a better option than the duck kra pow. First try for this thai place and a little dissapointed. Roti was over done IMO. I've enjoyed roti for quite a while and never have I had is so crispy. Didn't care for it, won't order it again from there. Panang chicken was tasty but the portion was small. I did ask for extra peanut sauce with the satay and was pleasantly surprised to have a little extra. Satay was a bit dry. The rice was well made and it may sound silly to add that but anyone can mess up anything, even rice so giving credit for that. I visited this place at the recommendation of a close friend and I was hooked. I went to this side of town to get some crawfish on Fat Tuesday needless to say we got there too late. We ended up going to this place and my friend said I would not be disappointed. I am a sucker for thai food as one may notice from my past reviews. I went with the yellow curry chicken 3 on spice and overdid it by getting the thai bbq chicken adding my usual thai ice tea. You really have to try or get that with every meal since it is so good. The presentation was excellent as in most thai places I have been to and noticing alot of heart-shaped rice patterns. The dishes were prepared and served promptly. I would say the food items you can tell the distinction of flavor so that was great and not bland tasting. I will admit though my new likely go to dish is the bbq thai chicken. The skin was golden crisp to where when you ate the skin, it was a tasty sweet crunch as you enjoyed every piece made it stand out. It was accompanied with a dish of rice and a zesty sour like dipping sauce. It was an amazing thai dish. My friend got some type of fried rice which looked yummy as well. Our waitress Marisa was super attentive to make sure we were taken care of in terms of ordering or refills of water so customer service was excellent. For the alcoholic lovers, they do have a bar with a wide array of drinks available and saw some ipa specials as I was walking out the door.
