Was very excited to give this place a try. Unfortunately as another Yelper said the service that we received on Sunday 11/17 was horrendous. Yes they are new, yes there is growing pains and yes training needs to be stepped up for new employees. Will try again in a month or two once things settle (hopefully). We were there for well over two hours. When we arrived the restaurant was EMPTY. Our waiter was friendly however I thought it quite awkward that he was telling us about bar fights that happened there on opening night- maybe not something to be broadcasting? We ordered our food and the wait began. We had waited close to 40 minutes with no one coming to check on us or bring our food. Finally our waiter came and told us that the kitchen was slammed and our food would be 20-30 min more. By this time my toddler was hungry and getting fussy. My father in law asked "is there anything that we can order that doesn't need to be cooked that way she can get something to eat quickly- fruit, cottage cheese? Anything?" The waiter suggested apple sauce- ok perfect let's do that. 20 min later no apple sauce. He says "it should be up in the window in a minute I'll go check". He comes back and it's literally a cup of apple sauce like the kind you buy at the grocery store with the tin cover that you peel off. Which is TOTALLY fine- but should NOT have taken just over 20 min to get. I could have walked across the parking lot to Hyvee and bought a pack and come back. We get our food- it's fine but for sure not worth the long wait. Two of the meals didn't come as requested but we weren't sending it back lol we were starving and just wanted to eat. We finish our food. Our waiter disappears. It has been another 15 min. Another employee checks on us and we tell her that we would like our tab. She doesn't go to get it nor does she tell our waiter that we requested it. Another 15 min and we tell our waiter that we are still waiting on our tab and he looks at us and said "oh you never asked for it". While we were there we watched four tables around us leave after ordering and not eating. Also may I add that if you are going to be a restaurant in this day in age you HAVE to be accommodating to those who may be disabled- this was not our party but the table next to us needed to be seating and one member of the party was in an electric wheelchair and they were having lots of difficulties fitting because of the location of the table and the hostess or waitress who was assisting them said "yea sorry thats as good as its going to get". Everything about this bar is great! Except for Amanda the bartender. If you plan to go to this place just don't go when Amanda the bartender is working. Very rude. Says things under her breath when she thinks you can't hear it. I love the servers and all of the staff except for Amanda's pure rudeness. Food is wonderful! Drinks a great. Just not Amanda, very Condescending and judge mental. read more

Love this new place. Great atmosphere, Summer was a great bartender. We even met two other couples there. We had house salads and Thai chicken lettuce wraps, very yummy! The Mules were great too! We will be going back for sure. read more

Went there tonight with the understanding that it was relatively new and might still need to work the kinks out. Boy was I wrong. Service was horrible. Took an hour and 45 minutes to get our food. Food was cold, burger buns were burnt. Our server said the manager would be out to speak with us. Never saw the manager. I can only imagine he or she was in the corner curled up in the fetal position wondering why they took this job. Will not be going to The Bar again. read more

Worst management ever! We waited 20 minutes to get a table "clean", then waited 45 minutes for cold food. We asked for the manager and was told "she was busy." Went the first time and had a terrible experience. Extremely long wait at the host stand due to trying to let the kitchen catch up. Finally sat, food took absolutely forever to come out and came out in shifts. (There were 4 of us) we got the food one plate at a time with lots of time in between. My food was cold and not edible, my friend had a plastic bread tag in the bun of his burger. Understanding that the place is new and has kinks to work out, we laughed it off. Went back the second time on a weekend afternoon, they were out of almost every vodka and some whiskeys that our table ordered. RIDICULOUS! This is an established chain and they can't seem to figure out how to run this location?!?! No thanks. Too many other choices to spend our money! read more

This review is written after two separate visits about a month apart. Our first visit was after they first opened. We were seated quickly, but that's where quick service stopped. Our server was pleasant enough, but food took forever to arrive (including appetizers). My buffalo chicken wrap came with zero buffalo sauce, kids meals were incorrect, and nothing was done to fix the situation after speaking with our server. We thought we'd give it another chance and visited last night thinking surely they've worked out the kinks. NOPE! Waited an hour to be seated, which was fair as we had 10 people and they don't take reservations. When we were seated it took 20 minutes for our server to come over. Drinks were slow to arrive (or never arrived) from the bar and soft drinks were never offered to be refilled. Appetizers were ordered and we specifically asked if they would arrive before our food and our server told us "anything that gets thrown in the fryer should be out fast"... well that didn't happen. It took 45 minutes to get mozzarella sticks and when we did get them the cheese had oozed out all over the plate so they were hollow. Entrees arrived in waves, no silverware or napkins were on the table...we had to get those ourselves from a makeshift station set up in a corner. One person in our party had finished their meal before mine (and two kids meals) even arrived. One person received the wrong meal entirely and the kids grilled cheese was inexplicably burned on the outside but cold cheese in the middle. When we were ready to leave this catastrophe after 2 hours at our table and horrible service it took another 20 minutes to get our checks, which were all wrong. We'd been charged for kids meal drinks which should have been included, charged for a beer that never arrived from the bar, charged for an appetizer that was inedible. This place is a joke. All of us said this was the worst bar/restaurant experience we'd ever had. We had high hopes for this addition to the South Olathe dining/nightlife scene but I don't see how it will stay open unless a major overhaul is done. We will not be back. read more

Was excited to try this fairly new place in South Olathe, which lacks a selection of dine in establishments. Food is hit or miss, service can be slow if dining in and they do offer curbside pickup. Prices are reasonable. read more

We like this place. They have a great patio. Since it's a holiday, we went there tonight for our first post-quarantine dinner out and were disheartened by their lack of anything precautionary regarding COVID. Not a single employee with a mask, no distance between tables. I grabbed the ketchup out of instinct and felt an immediate need to wash my hands. The Bar in Mission is awesome, this one is terrible our waitress is pretty bad and not sure what they do different with the CHK Nachos but they were not good. Which is a shame cause The Bar CHK Nachos at the Mission location I think are the best in the city. read more

A group of friends and I met up here last Saturday night to grab food and catch up. Initially, it seemed like a cool place. Our waiter was nice, the wait wasn't too bad. Eventually the live band started playing, and there was a speaker set up about 15 ft. from us, which isn't an issue until it's set so high we can't hear each other and some of my friends started getting headaches from the feedback. We saw several people walking out or deciding to stay but covering their ears. The servers were understandably busy, so it took a while before we could flag anyone down and ask them to lower it just a bit; they told us we weren't the only ones complaining and she'd ask their manager again. Nothing changed, so eventually we were able to flag someone else down who happened to be the manager. We decided that if the band is usually like this, maybe this place is just not for us and we could just go somewhere else, so we asked if we could cancel our food and leave. Apparently our food had been ready but not brought out, and this upset Matt the Manager; he got mad, said we were "off base and out of pocket" for ordering food and then leaving when "the band was playing when you got here though, right" (it wasn't.). He stormed off into the back and wasn't seen again. Our server apologized for him and how busy they had been, got some of our food to go, and got us out of there. Our server was amazing and the burgers were good- but I most certainly will not be going back to a place with such horrible customer service from the management. read more

We've been there a few times now and the service and food is always great. We had dinner there tonight and it took a little longer than usual to get our food out. It wasn't a big deal for us at all and we never mentioned it, but before we knew it the manager came over and apologized for the delay and comped both appetizers we ordered. Wow! The brunch here is horrible!! We ordered Bloody Marys along with breakfast food. The Bloody Mary's were very, very salty and lacking in one main ingredient...vodka. The Belgian waffles were clearly made with sugar cubes. I thought my teeth were going to fall out. You do not need syrup. It was almost inedible. The bacon was very undercooked. We also placed an order for the biscuits and gravy and specifically asked if there was meat in the gravy. The answer was yes. The reality was no. The gravy, like all KC restaurants, is what you would put on chicken fried steak. It is not sausage gravy. Which is what should be on biscuits and gravy. If you are looking for a good brunch choice, I'd recommend skipping this place. read more

I called to place a take out order, and was given attitude and told that they "can't take my order because they don't know how long it will take". I wouldn't have minded waiting a while for my food. However, I was told to come in, wait however long it would take to be seated, then place my order. What difference would that make? Very excited to try this new Bar in Olathe. Balloons outside welcoming everyone for Monday Night Football, Chiefs playing. We sit ourselves because the hostess was busy doing nothing. My wife orders an ice tea and it begins. Sorry we are out of ice tea the server says. We are not 100 yards from Hy Vee. Why hasn't the manager not had anyone run over and buy a couple boxes of Lipton and make tea??? I ask about the beer specials and was told All Domestic Beer is $4.00 so I order a Sam Adams and was told that one is not $4.00 (Boston is in America). We ordered Wings with Blue Cheese and a Salad. Was told the kitchen is way backed up. 90-mins later the food comes and the wings came on a cookie sheet with no celery or carrots and with Ranch. I ask and the server says, We are out of Blue Cheese and veggies. 100 yards away is a Hy Vee!!! Send a dishwasher over to get some. You can't run a business like this. Will never go back. Not kid friendly! Four strikes you are out. If you bring kids they seat you on the left side of the restaurant, aka where no servers are working. They were not busy, and yet we waited for 20 min before a server even greeted us. This was after we asked the hostess at least twice for assistance. This is not an isolated incident though. I always give places and people multiple chances. Everyone has off days, but this is clearly a pattern, four times! When a server finally came over today she only had excuses, no one knew we were there, the hostess is new, no servers were working on that side of the restaurant, etc. All of that is ridiculous. We had two kids, asked multiple times for help, and a server was waiting on a table 3 feet away! This was by far the worst time we have had there, which is even worse being a special day trying to get brunch for Father's Day, but, as I said, this is standard operating procedure for families. read more

If you want good service this is not the place to go. We ordered wings but they didn't have the jerk seasoning. Instead of informing us so we could make another choice, they just gave us hot wings. Then the wings were to come with celery. There was no celery. It took us 10 minutes to get the waiter back and then he didn't know why. He went back into the kitchen to check and came back to tell us that they ran out of celery. Not sure why they couldn't walk across the parking lot to the Giant grocery store and buy more. We asked for some ranch dressing for the wings and that never came to the table after asking several times. Don't go. The manager came to our table and told us that she is overworked. That servers don't show up and they are having openings bugs. Apparently 2 weeks is not long enough to work out issues. When the check came, they made no adjustments for lousy service and incorrect food. read more
