Cute restaurant that's by the park. Good pit stop. Beware of the egg bennys, they overcooked the egg unfortunately. It was very tasty but just not what we expect from a benny. Service was good although they kept checking in on us when we were done with our food. It's normally so busy on the weekends that I haven't been here in ages. But I had an early blood donation appointment at the nearby Red Cross Donation Center, so I figured I'd drive by and see. The parking lot was light at 8:30 so I came on in (packed by 9:15 though, so if you want quiet and an easy time finding a parking spot, I'd recommend a weekday). Plenty of helpful staff walking around and keeping cups filled with piping hot coffee, which is great on a chilly morning. I normally get one of the eggs Benedict's, which are amazing, but today I felt like more comfort food so I tried the biscuit and sausage gravy for the first time. It was pretty darned good. Service was great, the view was lovely, food was good, coffee was nice. The tables are pretty tight, so I wouldn't recommend if you use mobility aids. read more

Or don't, and explore the grounds of the historic Sappington house while you wait. See attached map. Parking can be tight because good places get crowded but there is overflow parking on the other side of the grounds that no one knows about. Order your favorite benny and upgrade your side to a waffle or if Benedicts aren't your thing just order the waffles. Skip the quiche. Then when you are done eating hop on Grants trail which runs right through the parking lot and go for a nice walk to justify that waffle. It sounds simple and it is but it had a kick with a bit of acidity. Loved it! The second special we ordered was the Tiramisu French toast OMG that will give you. Sugar high but in a great way. Honey had pancakes which was the only average item we ordered. He felt the pancakes were too greasy but okay. Let's talk about the Gouda Grits! Lord that's delicious! Perfection! I can't believe we haven't been to this place before! We went for breakfast and it was so good! It's the cutest little hidden gem with great food, drinks, and service. Despite being super busy, they were able to seat us almost right away and the food came out really quick. The interior was so cozy and inviting. The Barn never disappoints. We have been a few times in the past month and from the ease of joining the waitlist before arrival, to the fun smiley host, helpful servers, and delicious food. I've never had anything that I didn't love. Their eggs Benedict is great- perfectly poached eggs with a topping of creamy hollandaise goodness. Their pancakes are fluffy and huge. The biscuit and sausage gravy is the closest to homemade that I have ever had- I make a great sausage gravy and this is as close as I have ever had out. If you are interested in lunch the egg salad BLT will not disappoint. A club style sandwich loaded with eggs salad on the top portion and BLT below- I'm not sure why no one else has thought of this. The warm salty bacon pairs perfectly with the creamy chilled egg salad. The mimosas are strong and a great pairing to any of their breakfast, lunch, or brunch items. Big fan of this place! What a local gem that hits every time! The coffee is superb and if there's a wait - they have you covered with a coffee and water station to enjoy while you wait. If you have the time, I would try and spend some time a walking around the area. There's a pond and wonderful walking paths with amazing views. The Barn is a little brunch place off Grants Trail that has big ideas! If you love eggs Benedict, just go ahead and come on in because you have 6-7 varieties! Their Cajun style items and rooster sauce is mouth watering. I had the Delta- artichokes, Cajun Hollandaise, sautéed spinach and English muffin! (I had it made with scrambled eggs due to a dietary reason) and I left a very happy pregnant lady!! This is not my first visit either. My first time I enjoyed the Ragin Cajun eggs Benedict and my mouth still waters thinking about it. There are other breakfast items and several lunch options too. 10/10 would come back again and again! My only wish would be to have more specialty coffees besides just regular brewed- maybe iced or a mocha. But it didn't stop me!
