I've had this place on my list for awhile. Hubby and I were out and about so we stopped in. The wait was quoted as 20-30 minutes, but ended up being quite a bit longer. Once I was inside I understood why. This place is tiny. Very little seating. We were at a two seater table and I didn't love that it was right on the corner everyone comes around so people were very close to us moving through the dining room. They had a list of specials that looked great. Hubby ordered one and really enjoyed it! It was a special steak benedict kind of item. I was torn between the Strata and a quiche special they had that day. I ordered the strata because - have you seen it?! It looks divine. But I didn't love the texture, it felt mushy and very bready which I wasn't quite expecting. Sadly I also didn't love my grits, they were an odd texture too. Service was average, they appeared to be short staffed. It was a long time between check-ins, even when we were tying to pay and leave. At the end of the day I was a bit surprised to have left here with a $60 breakfast... and we didn't even have drinks except for Hubby's coffee. read more

I had a wonderful experience here the other day with my boyfriend. One this location is so pretty on a sunny spring day. It is off an 8ish mile bike trail. Across from a cemetery. And is located next to the Sappington House which is a museum. Also down the hill behind the Barn is the Reflection pond. Very cute area. Although we did need to wait around 20 minutes to be seated, it must be a very busy place. Especially for brunch. They close at 2pm on the weekends. They have up shower curtains to be COVID friendly. Our waitress, Taylor, was wonderful and super friendly. Not only with us but with the whole staff. Everyone got along well with one another. I ordered mimosas which were good as my boyfriend had his soda. For brunch I ordered the Texan. It was so bomb. I totally recommend. The brisket on it was the best I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered the barn burger with bacon and cheese. He enjoyed it. The harsh browns or barn browns as they call it, were different. Not my favorite but they weren't bad. Upstairs is also a gift shop. Very cute, with little knickknacks. Jams, honey, cream, sewed things, statues, plates etc. All in all we had a great time and will be returning. read more

First time for breakfast. I was greeted by a friendly hostess who took my name. I had to wait 20 minutes. I chose to sit inside. They also have a heated patio but some people looked cold. I was only at my table for 30 seconds when my smiling waitress arrived. Her smile made me smile so thank you! I chose the half order of the biscuits and gravy and a half order of the French toast and a small orange juice. My order arrived very quickly which was nice. My biscuits and gravy were hot but the French toast was luke warm which was disappointing. The sausage gravy was seasoned nicely and it wasn't salty which was great. The biscuit was warm and flaky. Excellent biscuits and gravy. The French toast was good but not excellent. The syrup was served warm which was nice. Excellent service by my waitress! Very cozy restaurant. I'll definitely come back and try the quiche. Shout out to the restaurant for supplying their waiters and waitresses with mobile devices to place orders and accept payment table side. We joined the waitlist before we got here since we knew it would be busy. Definitely advise to join the waitlist ahead of time, and check out the gift shop upstairs before you eat! The place itself is small and kind of crammed, so be aware of that. The wait staff/servers rotate around so we had a few different people helping us out. Everyone was fantastic and I had a good experience until the checkout process, where the woman helping us pay and clean up was kind of rude and kept going in and out of our table while we were trying to pay on our own on her device, where it kept changing screens and malfunctioning. The bacon is the best! Thick and chewy and perfectly cooked. Ambiance is outstanding. Love the view of the lake and fountain. My husband ordered the Barn Breakfast and loved everything about it. My ham and cheese quiche was very tasty, but a lot of the ham was overcooked. Great hash browns. My only real complaint was the coffee, which should be top notch in a breakfast restaurant. The flavor was mediocre at best and the cups are so large, maybe so they won't need refilling as often, that the coffee temperature became lukewarm very quickly, resulting in bitter coffee. Other than that, service was excellent and I'd definitely recommend it. read more

Nice place to try out. We had the strata and the avocado toast. We chose to sit outside and it was such a nice view of the grounds next to the Sappington Museum and it is along the Grants bike trail. It's a small restaurant, so standing outside to wait was the only option. If it had been colder, would have had to leave. Our wait for party of 2 was quoted at 40 min,but took 30. Opted for the Strata, gravy on the side, with Barn Browns (hash browns). The time for the food to come out was rather quick. Pleasantly surprised. The Strata was amazing! Seasoned well, portion for price was fair and temperature was perfect. Glad I got the sausage gravy on the side because it needed salt. Once that was squared away, it was a great accompaniment to the Strata. The Barn Browns...meh. There wasn't much too them and they were too crispy. First time here. It was a wonderful experience for me. We arrived around 1130 a.m. and was promptly seated. Note that when we left there was a line out the door. I did see online that you can join the waitlist before you get there so I would highly suggest trying to do that. We had our choice of breakfast or lunch. That was a tough decision because it was lunchtime, but I love a good breakfast. I decided to get the strata with hashbrowns, $13. I definitely made the right choice. The Strata was a Baked Concoction of Eggs, Bread, Sausage, Cheese & Green Onions... Topped with Sausage Gravy! This was absolutely delicious. So tasty and different from what I normally eat for breakfast. The hashbrowns were absolutely perfect and very crispy. Just how I like them. My friend ordered the half gumbo and half chicken salad sandwich. She said the gumbo was delicious and very flavorful. She didn't quite care for the chicken salad. Maybe it was the type of bread that they used that she didn't like. It had like berries in the bread. I tasted it and I thought it was OK. But nothing compared to my meal. I am kicking myself because when it came, it looks so darn good, I just started eating it and totally forgot to take a picture of it. I don't think I saw any strata pictures on here. If you go there, try it out you will not be disappointed. For the dining you had your choice of sitting inside or out on the patio. We did eat inside, but we're right next to the patio. It looked beautiful out there with lots of flowers and they had some fans going to make it not as hot. The upstairs had a little gift shop. It comes with a sauce that was really flavorful. I got browns as my side and they are cut so thin! I loved that because they were just the right amount of crunch without taking away from a good hash brown flavor. YUM! My husband got the cheeseburger with bacon and chips. He really enjoyed it and said it was "perfectly juicy." We also shared the bread pudding and WOW! What a tasty way to end our meal. The service was stellar. Highly recommend this place. The grounds are beautiful, the menu selection is good, so 2 stars there. We will not be returning however. In the midst of the height of the Delta variant, not a single server or kitchen worker was masked. I witnessed our server, seated at our table with a direct view into the kitchen, our server lick her fingers and then grab plates to take directly to a table. Even outside of the pandemic, it's rather disgusting. The kids size portions were large, the eggs Benedict was cooked well, but the portion size for the adult serving was small over the price. The kids sized milk ended up being $10 for three milks, and it was almost $8 for two single cups of black coffee. Not even Starbucks charges that much for a black coffee. Our bill ended up being over $70 for breakfast, just for single plates and drinks, no appetizer or desserts. Ultimately we will not be returning. read more

Small & cute restaurant in a restored barn with a gift shop lofted overhead. Have a beautiful patio as well. On scenic property where there is a bike path, a small pond, and a museum. Small parking lot attached, but it was full when I tried to go for breakfast, so I ended up having to park across the street at an elementary school. Have basic American breakfasts and lunches. I went for breakfast with my cousin on a Sunday morning and there was a 25 min wait. They don't take reservations. There is a very small bar attached where you can eat without a reservation also, but it is crowded in that area because it is where a lot of people wait to get seated. Food was fantastic. I got the Traditional American Breakfast and substituted fruit for the has browns. It was the perfect size. You don't have a designated waiter/waitress, & you can grab any wait staff that is around if you need anything. read more
