My wife and I were disappointed when The Black Kettle closed. When The Beaumont moved into its place, it took us awhile to try it. We finally did and we were pleasantly surprised. We tried the fried green tomatoes (delicious! who puts lump crab meat on fried green tomatoes?), the sea scallops with jalapeno corn relish and pork lardons (very fresh), the 20 oz bone-in ribeye (medium) with crabcake, macaroni and cheese and Brussel sprouts. I had the smoked old-fashioned (actually a couple of them) and my wife enjoyed the Prosecco Spritz. With all of this food we definitely needed them to package it up for us. Somehow my wife found space for a vanilla bean creme brulee (she always saves space for dessert) and claims it was the best she ever had. We are very familiar with the Beaumont. Typically bar customers with drinks and apps. Our rating is based only on tonight's seated Valentines dinner experience. After being seated by the Manager host, we waited 10 minutes before our waitress came to the table. When she did approach us, there was no introduction of her name, announcement of any specials and barely a smile and had no idea of wine we chose availability. We were better informed of the evening specials and popular dishes by our amazing "busser" MacKenzie!! She had a smile and she knew all aspects of the evening's offerings. When we finally had the opportunity to ask the server if there were any specials, she did not know and returned to the table with them written on the back of a piece of a paper guest check and mumbled through them. When we inquired about the price of a special she said....cluelessly and laughing, "I don't know, a hundred something".. .(classic) this was annoying, but starting to become entertaining!! We ordered mussels and the Lobster bisque that came out Luke warm and had a film on it that looked like it had been sitting for awhile. MacKenzie "our busser" noticed its condition and that we were discussing sending it back and immediately rectified the situation ....yay MacKenzie again...and still no attention from our server that brought it out and did not even know that we sent it back. On to dinner....dinner started with MacKenzie bringing out our corrected soup and our $110.00 tomahawk steak also arriving from the kitchen. Steak was done to perfection, sides were average at most. The server's attention was minimal at best, we were left to eat our meal on appetizer plates....very large steak with sides....until, once again ...our dining experience savior MacKenzie offered us full sized dinner plates. There are many more little things to comment on, but all in all, extremely disappointing for the level of fine dining that they portray. Our $225.00 dining experience was in no way, shape or form worth the money. For seated dining service we are one and done with The Beaumont!! read more

I traveled alone for work in a state I wasn't familiar with. Found the Beaumont as a "restaurant near me". The food was AMAZING, the beer was cold, and the staff were very professional and kind. Unfortunately we couldn't get a reservation at the Beaumont for New Years Eve. We had dinner at another local restaurant but we wanted to have a drink at the Beaumont after dinner. When we arrived we were half heartedly greeted by the maître d'. There were at least four tables empty. The bar was full but there was an open table in the bar and we asked to sit down. The maître d' ushered us to side of the bar and told us he would check on that table. He never spoke to us again. He passed us a at least a dozen times and just ignored us. Not once did he speak to us. We have been in this restaurant several times and we live in Catonsville. He was very rude! The bartender was wonderful and the cocktails were delicious. The Maître d', not so much. Very disappointed!! read more

This is the place my husband wanted to go to celebrate our anniversary. I was indifferent. Won't be again. We loved it. Our server Rob was engaging and efficient. Started with fried green tomatoes smothered in corn and cherry tomatoes, excellent way to start, hope this is not a seasonal dish because I will want it even in the middle of winter. My steak frites came out perfectly, exactly how I ordered it, medium rare, potatoes were crisp and not smothered in salt. My husband had stuffed chicken which he really enjoyed. Ended with a lovely chocolate cake with pistachio cream and a complimentary glass of Rose cava. Will not need an excuse of a celebration to return. read more

Fried green tomatoes were delicious - not too much breading and the crab on top adds a nice sweetness. I'm picky about FGTs as I grew up eating them and these were spot on. Husband and son shared the Tomahawk steak with fries and Brussels and I had the sea scallops. Steak had a great crispy sear then was like butter inside at medium rare and scallops were juicy with a nice pairing of sweet potato and Swiss chard for late fall. Our mildest complaint was a bit too much salt on the Brussels. Will definitely return and appreciate the kind service! read more

We came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. Not knowing what to get we listened to the server's recommendations. We started with the fried lobster tail with scampi butter and the crab meat deviled eggs. The fried lobster tail was delicious. The deviled eggs were also good. For our entree we decided on the seared sea scallops with mushroom and pea risotto. The risotto was cooked well, not over cooked, and the scallops were cooked to perfection. Our other entree was the stuffed flounder with lump crab and shrimp on top of saffron rice with broccolini. Also very good. We ended with a decadent dessert; honey goat cheese cheesecake with a pistachio crust, blueberry compote and topped with candied pistachios. The best cheesecake I have ever had. The service at The Beaumont was wonderful. The servers were very attentive without being overly present. We were able to enjoy our conversation without interruptions. Friendly and professional staff all around. Even when the restaurant started to get crowded and we were finished with our meal, we did not feel rushed to leave. I have been to the Catonsville location three time. The food has never disappointed but the evening is never perfect. On my last visit they were out of the beer that I order and worst yet, no baked potatoes. How can you call yourself a steak house and not have baked potatoes at 6:30 on a Tuesday? I understand that things happen but a good restaurant makes an attempt to make things better. I have never left this establishment with a desire to return and I doubt I ever will. read more

We had the 32 oz Tomahawk steak to share, that and the sides were also amazing. Definitely will be coming back to try the other menu items. It was a quiet Monday evening. We are older and purposely came early because of COVID. It was a very nice late afternoon/evening dinner. We have thought about trying the Beaumont for months. Our waitress was awesome-attentive in every way. We often share our meals - our server handled that with finesse! Started clam chowder, with tender clams still attached to their shells in a creamy vegetable base. Our 8 ounce fillet was very generous and cooked absolutely perfect. Served on a cutting board with our enjoyable sides of creamed spinach and macaroni and cheese. All nice and enjoyable! The dessert!!! RED WINE CHOCOLATE CAKE - it was EXTRAORDINARY. The quality of the chocolate and the gentle interaction of the wine - incredible and unusual. There were other very different desserts that we will try in the future. It was a wonderful evening for us as we have kept close to home in this month due to the virus. Something to consider, as some of us write reviews and comments - those who open these restaurants often put their financial stability at risk to open these establishments. Since Covid we have lost many / one of my most cherish last September due to COVID. LOOK AROUND YOUR COMMUNITY -take a moment to appreciate all that is around us as many have vanished! Server, Holly, was amazing! Great service and very friendly. Bartender made some amazing drinks as well. Management and chef left a lot to be desired. Ordered a charcuterie board and items were missing. The chef chose to argue with the server about it instead of correct it. Then ordered an au poivre steak cooked rare. Steak came out with ZERO pepper on it. Not even a sprinkle. I sent it back and seconds later was sent the same steak that had been dredged in fine ground black pepper. Again I said no, as that is not au poivre. Server was apologetic even knowing it wasn't right before she brought it out. When the manager came over, he chose to argue with me about the steak and charcuterie rather than fix it. He stated that he was never told about the charcuterie board so since he didn't hear about it then it didn't happen. He felt that telling me his work history at one steak house justified his lack of care that items were being done wrong. He stated he knew an au poivre is cooked with pepper and didn't care that it was cooked with no seasoning. He didn't care that it was rested with fine black pepper after the fact and had the response of at least it had pepper. The next steak I got was medium. No where near rare. Manager again didn't care. Very far from professional and has zero customer service skills. Was there the night before and had a wonderful experience. Don was great and so was Holly. Food was good as well. The poor experience the second night definitely makes it hard to want to support the restaurant if that is how people are treated. read more

First visit to a 5 week old steak house in downtown 'ville. Brad welcomed us for our reserved table of 2. A team approach to service... our congenial waiter Nick is also co-bartender. The ambiance was a Friday night date kinda place. I enjoyed two drinks... a classic old fashion AND a novel and smoky New Fashion. We split a grilled octopus on a bed of grilled asparagus...tasty and a generous portion for two. My wife rated the smoked Mussels Caesar Salad as exceptional... great dressing, large portion and meaty mussels. I enjoyed a small but hot clam chowder with clams in the shell to cap off the presentation. The accompanying bread bread was 3 warm soft rolls. When I shared with Nick that I prefer crusty bread, well...voila... Nick presented me with 4 crusty baguette slices! We each went with the steak option procured from the local highly regarded butcher. My wife enjoyed a large medium filet mignon with grilled asparagus and grilled mushrooms. I had a perfectly done medium rare thick NY strip with the same delicious grilled asparagus and a small but loaded baked potato. Meats were tender, juicy and fairly priced...$33 for the strip and $42 for the filet. The steak portions were so generous that we took half of each entre home for another dinner. A wonderful date destination with 10 bar stools and a small but classy dining room... a very attractive and welcome addition to the Catonsville dining scene. We later learned that the owner group stemmed from the Ellicott City Portallis... now also hosting State Fare and El Guapo in the 'ville besides the shiny new Beaumont. Highly recommend the Beaumont. I have mixed feelings about this place since I would have liked to see Black Kettle continue to succeed, but that aside, I can't imagine we'll be back. I don't mind expensive if the food and atmosphere deliver, but neither did. Wine bottles are way too high priced. My 20oz ribeye was lack luster, and the charcuterie platter is not going to bowl you over. Figs and toast were very good and flavorful. My wife did say her burger was very, very good so I should have gone with my first choice and stayed with the burger. read more
