Based on the polarized reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect-- but was very pleasantly surprised. The place is woefully understaffed for the number of customers even on a lazy late summer afternoon on a Monday. The servers, in addition to table service greet and seat customers, take orders as well as to-go, and tend bar. In spite of this, we had a solid meal, strong on portion size and pretty solid food. I had the fish sandwich, served extra crispy and tender, which came with fries instead of the fresh vegetables I requested. The server quickly made it right-- serving up garlicky and buttery fresh yellow and green squash that was well worth the wait. I had two well poured drinks and he had the open face beef and gravy and mashed potatoes--since it's just not served regularly in Texas. A good meal-- not haute cuisine by any stretch-- but solid bar fare. An extra star given for outstanding service in spite of the staff shortage although there is a robot that delivers some food to diners-- not sure what you have to order to get that? Potato are the cubed kind, so they have both the firm crispy outside and fluffy inside. Bacon bits, cheese, green onion and a few tomatoes give it an added lift. The Scrambled eggs on the side was perfect, 2 eggs that were fluffy and filling. The Brioche toast they served is delicious, buttery and tasty. Attempted to eat here on a Saturday night at 7:30pm. There were 7 tables seated, plenty of open seats but we were told they couldn't seat anyone else and it was 15-20 minute wait. I had breakfast here yesterday morning food was great, and service was wonderful, also had dinner and the chef brough us our food and he was great. Went there this morning and the waitress was not friendly at all, however, I am good at ignoring ignorance, so I continued to be friendly. I asked for extra sugar for my coffee, she continued to wait on 2 other tables and brought them their water and went back and asked another table did they need anything, went back and gave them their jelly request. I got her attention and reminded her about my sugar; she told me she knows she will get it when she goes to the front. Okay, my coffee continues to get cold, and I want to drink my coffee. It's been 10 minutes now. She continues to do what she was doing which was nothing. I went to the front and asked for a manager it has been now 20 minutes and the waitress hasn't brought me my sugar, I explained to the manager who acted as if she didn't care and made some type of excuse and like I told her all the waitress had to do was get some sugar off another table. So, the manager brings me another cup of coffee as my food is now cold as I had to wait on her 5 minutes to come out the back. Met several friends (10) here to celebrate a birthday, we arrived when they opened on a Sunday, def not busy. We have a friend who has to use a walker so requested a low top table so he could sit comfortably without danger of falling. We ended up filling up our table and an additional 2 top. The food and drinks came out and everything was good, we were there for some time as we were visiting, eating and drinking. Some of us paid our bills early, even though we were still hanging out...this is where it gets weird...the bar was NOT busy but the waitress said she needed the extra 3 chairs we were using to fill out her section. So even though we were still seated she wanted three of our chairs to put back in her section (it's one big bar area, so think two feet away), even though there was almost no one in the bar! Now we had people leaving to go gamble and then come back (think 20 min) so we're playing musical chairs since we are now 3 chairs short...I shared a chair with my other half...I have to say, not sure why the chairs were needed at empty tables, but I doubt we will be back, seemed a little ridiculous to take a chair away from a paying customer to put at an empty table...just my thoughts... read more

Their menu features a little bit of everything in the way of bar food favorites including: burgers, chicken wings, chicken fingers, tacos, chicken / cheese quesadillas, and pizza. They also feature a grilled Caesar salad, fried shrimp, and a 12oz New York Strip Steak. I decided to try their Pub Pretzels with beer cheese, and as I stated earlier it was ok. I was in the mood for a burger and figured I would drive the 30 minutes to The Beerhouse at River City Casino and try one this early Saturday evening. Big mistake. I was greet nicely by the hostess who asked if I wanted a table or wanted to sit at the bar and since I was solo I figured the bar would be fine. She said I could set myself so I proceeded to the bar. I sat at the end with about 4 servers milling around at the registers so I figured I would be greeted quickly by someone and the bartender would follow up with me. No greeting. After a few minutes I removed my coat, thinking maybe he staff thought I was waiting for someone and would eventually move to a table since I didn't look comfortable with my coat on. Still no greeting much less, "what are you having?" "Can I help you?" "Have you been helped?" Hello would you like a menu?" Nope. And throughout my wait, a flurry of servers, about 6 or 7 in fact, we're literally and arms length away from me and none of them said a thing. I get the POs system was there and these folks had tables they were waiting on, but whoever was handling the bar was doing a piss poor job. I'm looking at the bartender mid way the bar standing there smiling like a damn beauty pageant reject and I am thinking, is she ever going to move and work the ENTIRE bar? I should not have to yell out or flag someone over for service when I am coming to spend my money. The other bartender, another young girl, literally kept coming right in front of me to pour beers and didn't say a word to me! Yet the couple sitting next to me she asked an incessant amount of times how they were doing and if they needed anything. It was bad enough she was wasting so much beer on her pours that alone should have got her fired, and I was afraid Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue was going to come in yelling about how much beer she was wasting. An obvious amateur when it comes to beer pours. Who the hell hired her? It has now been 10 minutes (yes I had my stopwatch going) and I am seething inside. Within this time 3 people have sat at the bar and was greeted by the staff immediately before they even sat down in the seat! I now realize they had a few things in common- they were all male. They were all old (over 60) and they were all Caucasian. Finally a young lady comes and asks if I wanted to place a to-go order. I guess that was her responsibility. I told her well I guess that is the only way I am going to get service is if I place a to-go order! I have been sitting here forever and no one has even acknowledged me! She said oh you can order something for here if you want. I will have the bartender come over. She beckons for the bartender, the girl standing in the center of the bar, spending more time skinning and grinning instead of working the entire bar, who swaggers over with a fake smile like she is attempting to do work. I quickly told her that is ok, I will just place an order to go. So I placed an order with the girl who acknowledged me and waited for my ramen burger. If it wasn't for the 30 minute drive and the fact I have never had a ramen burger before I would have just left but I figured I drove to far to at least not accomplish my goal. And hey if it was fantastic it would have made it all worth it. It wasn't fantastic. It's rare you get tater tots as a side offering, so I figured they would be housemade and different. Nope. Could have bought a bag of ore-ida tater tots and they would have been just as good if not better. The ramen burger looked good but it seems like something was missing. Ramen bun, burger, spicy mayo....yeah it was something missing. When I looked back at the description it was the Asian slaw. No asian slaw on the burger, in the box on the side, in a separate container in the bag, nope. By this time I had left the premises but for $11.95 to get shitty service and an order that isn't reflective of the menu description was too much. This was my first and last time at this shithole. Note to male management: stop hiring inexperienced young pretty girls so you can get a hearty helping of eye candy during your work shift and hire some real bartenders that know how to work the bar and who treats EVERYONE equally. And get that beer girl some training. It will cost less than the beer she is wasting every time she touches that beer tap. I am a damn good tipper and would have enjoyed a cocktail or two if I had good service. Not even spectacular service, just good service. Where else can I find a good ramen burger in STL? First visit to the Beerhouse since the whole covid pandemic. I must say things have changed. Not as many beers and the menu is much smaller. Not really complaining but the beer and food were a draw for us. These changes make the Beerhouse really just an average bar. With that said, our visit was nice. We were a party of six and we did not have to wait. Our food was good and the beer and drinks were great. Our waitress was very good and kept us satisfied throughout our visit. The food was excellent all three times I visited over the past month. A tall young guy was the best server out of all. He was very attentive and kind. Had one bad experience With a lady that has zero personality, and once he came in to work, he checked on me and was excellent. The wings are awesome with sweet chili and buffalo. The nachos are huge. This is my go-to restaurant each time I go to River City casino. A few times, I have gone to the restaurant even when I did not go onto he casino floor. I have had good experiences at the restaurant. They have an extensive selection of beers on tap and in bottles. For dinner, I usually order the beef on weck. I have also tried a burger, and the buffalo chicken salad. All of the items I have tried have been very good. Most of the menu items are reasonably priced and the portions are a good size. This restaurant allows use of the No Wait app, so you can use that to coordinate your arrival time. One negative is that the smoke smell from the casino lingers over to the restaurant. People that are sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke should keep that in mind. read more

We came here as a close to home option for a birthday celebration. They have a very decent beer selection - most of the selections are bottles vs draft. I chose Blue Moon (draft). They offer different size draft beers which I found nice. We ordered an appz of onion rings. They really have their stuff together with the wait staff/table runners. You don't wait long for your food! The onion rings came with a spicy ranch dip which was great with the onion rings. We did have to ask for a second cup. Unsure if that was because the dip was too good or if the serving was too small... maybe a bit of both! The onion rings were crisp, light on the breading (which I like) and the onion flavor came through nicely. For dinner my buddy ordered the Beef on Weck. It looked good. I did not have a taste though. the bun was large, and he did comment that it was a bit much but still great. He chose grilled asparagus for his side dish. I chose a new burger they have on the menu, the Ramen Burger. Its QUITE DIFFERENT! It comes with a ramen bun (you can not pick this burger up with your hands ... its a knife and fork burger) I asked for it medium and it came out perfect. the burger had great flavor and the green onion asian slaw was great! I probably could have used a touch more of the slaw. It come with spicy Sriracha mayo. I asked for a cup on the side and I am glad I did. I thought it needed more! You can't go wrong with Sriracha mayo. I thoroughly enjoyed this burger! I would get it again but this time I would not get fries with it. I think I would choose a grilled vegetable as I feel it needed something more crispy and fresh to compliment the flavors. Their fries were just ok.. nothing to talk about really. The one draw back that I always forget about when going to the Beerhouse is that the casino allows smoking and you can smell it as soon as you walk in the door. And that bothers me some. I highly, highly recommend the beer cheese soup, which comes in a sizeable portion with its hot, fresh pretzel and the pulled pork sandwich with your choice of sides. First time, I took home 1/2 my soup, my entire side salad, which was huge, and couldn't quite finish my pulled pork. This last time, I still could only finish 1/2 the soup, I split the pulled pork, and still couldn't touch the fries that came as a side. I'm told the bowl of soup with 1/2 sandwich special comes with the same size soup. I think I could get that and split and still feel stuffed. It is located outside and adjacent to the gaming floor entrance and directly in front of you if you are walking in the entrance from the valet stand. If you are a beer drinker, you are in for a treat as they have a massive selection to choose from, though regrettably not many are available on tap. We were seated immediately, and the wait staff here were very friendly and personable. Eating at casino restaurants is always a bit of a crap shoot (see what I did there?). They are normally either exceptionally good or pretty awful, with not much in between. Our food was out quickly and was surprisingly good! The haddock sandwich I had was fantastic, though it was "hanging off the plate" enormous and enough for 2 people. I went to grad school in Wisconsin, where Friday fish fry is an institution. This place can hold it's own. I wish they had malt vinegar though, which really sets off fish in my humble opinion. Minor gripe overall. Let's face it, if you are here gambling and having cocktails, you are probably are not going to be venturing out from the Casino property for food. Since the Casinos know this, and you are essentially at their mercy, some take advantage by price gouging you to death while offering only limited quality. That is not the case here.
